Stable A300FU custom rom? - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Is there any stable a300fu custom rom that can be used daily? Thanks

CM12.1 with Wake Lock works incredibly well, although because of Wake Lock, the battery doesn't last a whole lot.
There's also CM12 Resurrection Remix, which I've been told is better and doesn't need Wake Lock (as such, the battery lasts much longer), but I had some troubles with it, and it wasn't good enough for me to use daily because of those troubles - it might've been something wrong with just my device, though... not quite sure on that - might test it again in a few days.
Other than that, A300FU users are waiting for CM13 which mygalaxya is working on, but... I don't expect it to be finished anytime soon.

[Q] Stable ROM for S5 [klte]

Hello, dear XDA-Community
a girlfriend of me has CM 12.1 Stable installed, but it crashes pretty often as she told me.
I'm looking for a stable ROM for her that she can use.
I personally have a S4 and can't test the S5 ROMs for her, so could anyone give me a good advise which ROM she could use?
I've been looking around ofc but couldn't decide which one could be the best for her.
Thanks in advance!
Stock
I offered her to install the stock ROM again, but she doesn't like stock.
She wants to explore more and likes to change stuff. So I'm looking for a stable ROM for her. It'd also be okay if she has to update only once a month. I teached her how to flash and so on.
Anyways, thanks
I'd say the CM13 nightlies work pretty good.... they're nightlies but stable enough. Never crashed even once, and I've been using them for a very long time. You don't need to update every night of course, you could do that once a month if you like, or every two weeks.
Just make sure to install xposed and greenify and enable the aggressive doze mode. She'll love the standby time. Overnight (8+ hours) less than 0,5% battery drain.
Also use the Boeffla kernel for CM13.
If nightlies isn't what you're looking for I guess best thing would be stock, or something stock based.

To buy or not to buy

Hi all!
I'm currently an LG G4 user but I'm really disappointed of this device because of it's poor battery life...
Before having the G4 I had the Mate 7. I loved its fingerprint sensor and its huge battery.
I want to know if it's easy to get 5-7 hrs of SoT with the OpT and if its camera and fingerprint sensor worth getting the device?
Btw I'm planning getting a MarshMallow Rom (for the fingerprint sensor API integration on Android 6.0), is the battery life OK?
Concerning the overheat issue is it solved?
As far as I could read, the SkyDragon Rom is quite well made and even with OOS 2.x.x combined with Boeffla's kernel gives good results... But as I'm looking for a MarshMallow rom I'd like to have reviews about the SkyDragon Rom (any compatible Kernel or setting giving good battery life? Same questions for CM13)
Waiting for your replies!
TheBledard
hey there, well the fingerprint sensor is really good not just a gimmic much better then locking your phone with a code/patten, so useful for simply unlocking and locking the phone.
About battery life i mean well on skydragon with boeffal's kernel and a good battery saving profile you cab get really good results some others even getting 7-8 SoT!
But realistically on any MarshMallow ROM your only gonna push 5 hours SoT max.
I've tried pretty much every ROM and combo with kernels ect, i'm currently using the Offical Exodus ROM 6.0.1, for me at least its just awesome lovely user experience very very fast and just all round a brilliant and stable ROM and updated lots.
But as for battery life i get 4 to 4 and a half hours SoT on average a fue times had over 5 hour but thats using the phone very little, i get through the day on one charge 80% of the time and thats good enough for me.
Hope this helps a little let me know if theres any other questions you have.

EMUI vs CM 13

I want to hear the experiences you guys have with emui vs cm13.
At some points i always wonder if i should flash back to emui because of a few bugs and problems so i wanna hear a few experiences to see what you guys think about it.
- generally speaking i would love to hear what you like in comparision to the other
- how's your battery life, usage experience, how you think about the current bugs, etc.
- are you thinking to change rom to emui or to cm13 and why?
cm gives a more stock experience compared to emui, better battery life. unless youre going to update to emui 5, cm is better

With papsi ROM everything is fine by battery life is miserable with an outdoor brightness and mobile data on (only few hours).
Speedo; very descent battery life , zooming is fine but video recording is not, still buggy and finger print not working
Till now I think the best available firmware is stock but if speedo_thc managed to get his ROM as functioning as papsi's he will be the best daily driver for me.

papsi's isn't that bad on battery life for me. i get two days usage with constant bt connections and a few messengers push. you will have monitor wakelocks and stuff to optimize as much as possible though.
i am using
- amplify (no donate)
- greenify with xposed + root
but have 3 messengers, email and android wear on push at all times.
Cm notifications fixed emui not
cm's will always break after few months of heavy using, stock wont. sure cm has more customizeable tweaks and in some cases better battery life (never in my cases). evey device i have tried cm it always starts randomly rebooting, lagging and eats battery like hell(hahe had this issue with multiple devices). i prefer stock base and then rethemed to whatever you choose.
Currently, no custom rom is stable enough for daily use. I still love the EMUI camera and the finger print gestures. I will stick with EMUI 4 for now hopefully until custom roms are more stable and fully functional.
I've used papsi's rom for a few weeks as a daily. So far the only downside to me, is the battery life compared to stock emui.
Papsi's cm13 is better than stock EMUI on almost every points except the battery. I'm using his rom since he published it and it's pretty stable but the battery life can be a deal breaker. Some optimization would make the rom great for daily usage.

I agree with you, i would use his rom but the problems with the camera and battery life and the phone getting too hot when playing games or watching videos is what keeps me on EMUI since i never had issues with notifications.

Your Note 3 ROM

Hello!
After four years with the same ROM in my note 3, (X-ROM 21.0), due to the phone is a bit slow and so on, I would like to change it.
Could you tell me which room are you using and why?
Thanks!

After trying almost every single rom i am daily driving Darklord reborn v4.1 s7 edge marshmallow rom port by nx team with darklord ux v2.0 kernel.
No bugs so far very fast ui launcher no lag very stable.
Always on display, blue light filter, outdoor mode, ultra power saving mode, theme store game launcher, beats audio,viper4android,dolby atmos, dual speaker sound mod and almost everything working without bugs.
Getting 5 hours of Screen on time on wifi.
Definitely recommend it.
I am not saying other roms are not good it's just my own personal opinion.
Just a quick tip
If you wish to try this rom you must update your bootloader and modem to latest version of lollipop.

You mention always on display, does it actually work on that ROM without excessive battery drain?

Always on display consumes about 2% to 3% battery per hour on this rom.
any other suggestions from other modders? i just got a note 3 and i was wondering which rom is the best up to now. (gaming and moderate battery life)
if you are using a customized kernel, please do mention it maybe i can get an idea from your setup. thank you xda!
Very few active updated roms for Note 3 /likewise many rom downloads long gone .
Start by looking in development for active roms .

What's you rom and kernel combo?

Would be interesting to see what people are using as their daily drivers. As I got my pixel 2xl not too long ago, I'm using latest havoc Is with Wahoo-ElixirKernel-V4.8. but will switch soon to something else
Stock. My flash-a-holic days are behind me. Especially since SafetyNet and the cat and mouse game that brought.

Me too...
Havoc and its kernel (Caseum, I believe) are what I stick with most, but I occasionally try out Colt OS and Bootleggers. Havoc has the most customizations hands down, although Colt is a close second in that regard. Colt does have a ton of built-in themeing options, which a lot of people like, but I always use the default light theme, so that's not a reason to stay on Colt for me personally. Bootleggers feels like Havoc but missing enough of the options that I like that it becomes annoying over time.
Currently, I'm running Bootleggers and Kirisakura kernel. I'm trying out Bootleggers again because people claim it's got better battery life than Havoc, although last night my phone lost 9% battery overnight, which is more than I ever lost with Havoc and Caseum. I did just flash Bootleggers and Kirisakura yesterday, so maybe they need time to "settle" in as they say. We'll see.
As far as kernels go, I don't ever make adjustments to them, so I run them with their default values. Honestly, running them as they are out of the box, I've never noticed any difference between kernels, stock or otherwise. I've never felt like I've gotten increased battery life, more smoothness , better RAM management, etc. from one kernel over another. I'm sure they are difference in them, but in my day to day actual use, I can't tell a difference.
I too ran stock for the first year with my 2 XL, but after having ran the afore mentioned ROMs for the last few months now, I couldn't go back. Stock is far better than it used to be, but it's still missing a lot. I'd end up having to flash 5 or 6 different mods to get what I wanted. That can get messy and confusing especially where two mods conflict with one another in some way. These custom ROMs have all those mods and so much more built in, so it's just easier.

PixelDust and Sultan kernel
For those of you running havoc, what's your battery life like. I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong but my battery drains like mad. I can't make it through half a day of work as opposed to stock that will still be over 50% late in the evening long after i leave work. This is with battery saver enabled
AND powersave through kernel manager enabled as well. II don't browse 0or use my phone during work much. All 8 use is Bluetooth to listen to music.
There is also an issue with the screen taking forever to unlock. From fingerprint or just hitting the power button. The screen stays black for quite some time. I've even had moments where I've had to hold down power button and fully restart the phone because it was taking so long. Really inconvenient when your trying to answer a call.
Just wondering if those running havoc have encountered these issues or if it's just me. Love havoc. Used it on my OnePlus and I want to use it on my pixel but those two issues kill it for me. I've tried every single new update since release and I've asked in the havoc forum but haven't really gotten much input back. The couple things I did try still didn't resolve either of those issues. always have to revert back to stock.
Any tips?

Sorry to hear about your experience with havoc, on my side havoc is giving me great battery life. I've been using my phone for about 2.5 hours and still at 75%. Did you check on your battery stats what's eating your battery? There maybe a APK that is running in background

I flashed stock and didn't think to check that first. Battery is an issue bit nothing that plugging in my phone won't fix. The screen unlock issue is what killed it for me.
Stock Pie + Elemental X 2.19. After trying several ROMs with mediocre results, I stuck with stock, added only Elemental to it.
IMO all these custom ROMs fails right after installing for different reasons, Havoc i.e.
Running Bootleggers plus Sultan with zero issues on Verizon.
