I am unable to clear the google chrome history on my X Pure with Android 6.0. I did a force stop on chrome and cleared the cache, but all the history remains. Any other way?

Recently, I found out I can't receive hangouts message notifications any more even I open the app. If i want to see the message i have to logout and login again. It is very annoy.
Before i can receive the message randomly sometimes work and sometimes not working. But since yesterday I can't receive the message anymore.
NB: It works well on iPhone, also on my phone other IMs work well (skype, wechat and whatsapp)
Anyone has the same problem or are there anyway to fix?
Thanks

I would start by clearing cache and data in the app:
Settings > Apps > Hangouts > Clear cache & Clear data
Settings > Apps > Google Play services >Clear cache & Clear data
Then reset the preferences in "Google Settings" and sign in and set the preferences in "Hangouts". If this does not fix the issue, you may need to remove and re-add your Google account to your phone.

Thanks, i just did the first two steps + uninstall hangouts and install again. So that works. Just wondering why? Maybe I install the new version of google play service update manually yesterday?
Cheers
Mine had been, and it was driving me nuts. The app would load just fine but the second I touched a conversation it would force close. Every time. I could hit menu and go to settings but that was about it. I would see it load all my contacts and their pics on the right sidebar.
I had tried uninstalling hangouts and reinstalling, no fix.
Signing out of google, clearing cache and data on google play services and on hangouts, then signing back in to google. No fix.
I short, I tried all the different fixes for broken apps we have all known for ages now, all to no avail.
I tried hangouts on my wife's nexus with my gmail account - it force closed. Tried her account information on my GS4 hangouts, it worked just fine... something else was going on.
Turns out, if you have old archived chats, especially group chats, the hangouts app cannot pull them or handle the data somehow, and will force it to force close.
TO FIX IT -
Sign in to hangouts on PC and clear out everything. All old chats, group chats, archives.
I had never used hangouts on PC before... Not sure I had even archived any chats on purpose.
The app started working immediately and I did not have to restart my phone.
I found the answer to my problem here http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/hangouts/LByoWgqYOtM
I was a gmail beta tester as well - I don't know if this is a determining factor or not, I just thought I would share the information if anyone else is having a similar problem they can have an easy fix.
Tonight I was in the gmail app doing a search through my work inbox. It showed me some results, but that wasn't old enough so I said "Load more". Repeated that step a few times and suddenly gmail crashed out ("Unfortunately, Gmail has stopped working"). Relaunching it ever-so-briefly makes the list of mail messages appear but then crashes again.
I completely powered off and rebooted - same thing happened when I opened gmail again.
I went into Settings -> Apps, selected Gmail and went to storage. Cleared the cache and then tried opening it -> same result.
Clear Cache, reboot before opening -> same result.
The Clear Data button appears enabled in the same green color as Clear Cache, however nothing happens when I click it. Clear Cache gets a shadow / ripple effect where I click it. Nothing like that on Clear Data, it's like it doesn't recognize it is "touchable".
I also note that when I go into the Gmail app (before going into the separate screen where Clear Data / Clear Cache are), that the Disable button and Force Stop buttons are both greyed out / disabled.
From the home screen, I tapped the button to bring up the list of open windows/apps and swiped Gmail off to close it that way, but again no change in behavior.
Phone is stock ROM. I did unlock the bootloader in anticipation of rooting it, but I ended up never going that next step and have just been taking the OTAs since then (am currently on 6.0.1, January 1 security patch level).
Any other ideas?
Thanks
try removing your work account from the device.
OK, doing it that way seemed to clear it up. I've re-added the account and it has now sync'd, things seem to be back to normal. That was annoying. Any ideas why the clear data doesn't do anything?
Not one that I have a real explanation for. Glad it's back up and running though.

Same here on pure nexus 9 , have tried reboot, , remove cache/date, re-install, ti-back recovery.
Still crash after in gamil app "search".
Then I removing the google working account and re-add it, still the same, now try to reboot without google account then re-add after boot again
Hello everyone!
Here is what I did as follows.
First of all, the data cannot be cleared, which will induce this issue with the 'crashing' app.
What could help is updating the application. It works perfectly for me (even without removing my account)
I hope this will be useful and help for your problem with Gmail!
Cheers!
Starting yesterday, I am getting this error on my phone every 10min. No matter what app I'm in. It has killed the use of most Google apps especially Hangouts, as texts no longer send etc. I was out at PAX so I didn't make any changes to my phone. Any ideas why this happened and how to fix it?
Phone: LG G2, v5.0.2
Here's what I've tried so far with no luck:
Rebooting
Cleared cache for Google Play services
Cleared cache for Google Services Framework
Ensured Google Play services has no pending updates

How do I uninstall updates for it?

Strange! I can press on uninstall updates.
remove all update (google play services, google play), desable and re-enable all item, reboot.
I'm having an issue that I can't seem to solve, and was hoping you guys might have a solution: under voice settings in the google app, the ok google detection option is grayed out, and inaccessible. Also, apparently the ok google detection itself is disabled, and only works from the google now launcher. (the launcher i'm using right now is the leaked nexus one, flashed in recovery.) (I'm systemless rooted with stock nougat 90G build.) The voice trigger doesn't even work in the google app unless i have the google now launcher set as my default launcher.
Other relevant info:
-i've checked the app permissions for stuff like google play services, the google app, etc. they all have microphone access.
-if i go into my security settings (system), and try to set up smart lock with voice detection, the ok google detection of the app opens. from there, i was able to get a workaround and re-enable the "ok google" hotword from any screen, but interestingly enough, the trusted voice option is grayed out and inaccessible, while the option to have it enabled from the google app was still checked.
-this sort of solves my issue, but it's really only treating the symptoms of the problem, not the source/cause of the problem, as i'd really like to find out what's going on with the option being unavailable in the google app's settings.
-a reboot didn't fix the issue
Another question: when looking at the app info for the google app, and then under storage, it doesn't have a regular clear cache and storage like other apps do, but instead a manage storage option that deletes search history. if i clear this, does it only wipe my local data, or does it wipe my search history from my google account? I'd like to try wiping the app data to see if that fixes the issue, but i don't want anything cleared from my google account.
