[URGENT] Does S Pen/S-Pen still works after root? N9005 - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Ok so this question might be already answered, if it is, please give me the link to that forum.
I recently got my note 3, and it is locked only at smart (philippines)
Now I want to root it so I can remove some bloatware and make it lighter,
Will rooting my phone, breaks or kill the s pen sensor and make the s pen unusable? I found this site how to root lollipop note 3 n9005
https://barzrul.com/tutorials/root-galaxy-note-3-sm-n9005-on-5-0-lollipop-778
Because that's what happend to my note 1 (SHV-E160S), the s-pen is unusable after root, and i don't want that to happen to my note 3, so please help

[Q] Is it esasy to root GN3?

Question is in the title.
With all this Knox security nonsense baked into Samsung Android devices from now on, I wonder how much harder it's going to be to unlock and root the Note 3.
it does not make it any harder...only makes you loose the warranty easier

you just randomly decided to ask this question? rooting the note 3 is the same process as rooting other Sammy phones....if you would have looked in the root threads that are posted in the dev section you would have figured that out it took me like a min to root my phone and i dont think it gets simpler than that
PS- knox doesnt really affect anything, i dont get why ppl are so scared of it.. there is even a root method that doesnt trip the binary counter.....

[Q] Want to Root Note 3

Dear All,
I have SM-N9005(Note 3) purchased in UAE. As Android Kitkat(4.4.2) is not officially released, I downloaded and updated Note-3 with Poland Offical Firmware from www.sammobile.com.
Now I want to root my Note 3 without disturbing the knox. I gone through the forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487916
the root access procedure mention is quite old(4.3), I am not sure whether same procedure will work for 4.4.2 also. Can somebody please confirm it. Below are my phone details
Model : SM-N9005
AP : N9005XXUENB3
CP : N9005XXUENB1
CSC : N90050XXENB1
Please let me know if you need any further details.

You want to know what's funny? If you search on here for "rooting Note 3" ...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=315874282
... this is the very first thread that comes up.
Most of the other hits you get aren't all that helpful either, except maybe the "Root with Root De La Vega" thread, but that's a little advanced for someone who's never rooted the Note 3 before. I rooted my original Note, and it seems a little advanced to me ...
Knox is new to me too ... Do I really have to worry about tripping it?

how do i root with knox i9505 uk o2

hi every one
firstly id like to say im really dissapointed with the support ive recieved thus far regarding this knox issue.
having searched every rooting for s4 thread i found nothing, i couldnt even post in chainfires own thread to ask for assistance.
so maybe a mod or an advance samsung user can help me by refering me to a knox rooting thread or guide on how i can make this phone worth the money i paid.
i got hold of the s4 gt-i9505 cheap £100 locked to o2 uk, but its riddled with this knox security stuff thats blocking odin from flashing auto root.
and i couldnt even use the *#0011# sim unlock method because of this ridiculous stuff samsung is using now. (definately my last ever samsun device)
sorry for ranting so much but without root this phones going in the bin.
thanks to all and everyone who helps me with this issue
note: i dont need warranty on this phonebe cause its just going to be used for developing pokemon games similar to rpg maker fan games with content updates

Galaxy Note 3 first time rooter
Hi everyone, newcomer here. Thanks for providing this community to help people out and thanks to Chainfire for making CF-Auto-Root.
I have a Galaxy Note 3, and I've never rooted before because I really like Touchwiz and the useful features it provides. I've read the main post for CF-Auto-Root, so I understand this is supposed to be the easiest root method that's supposed to retain stock Touchwiz and nothing more.
Before I take the plunge, I just wanted to clarify my understanding to make sure I really do want to go ahead with rooting my Note.
1. When you say CF auto root is rooting my phone, does that mean it's just achieving a "state of being" with the phone, and not really installing or modifying anything else with Touchwiz (besides SuperSU)? As in, everything is the same as before, Touchwiz is the same as before, and the only thing different is that I've gained permission to access more things in the software?
2. My understanding is that I shouldn't lose any data, apps, home screen app layouts, etc?
3. Will I lose any functionality in Touchwiz? Like S-Pen features, Samsung apps, etc?
4. If I receive an update to 4.4.4 or 5.0, will I lose this cf-auto-root state?
Thanks everyone for helping out!

CF-Auto-Root flashes custom recovery, which installs the su binary and SuperSU application and then sets back the default stock recovery. Everything else remains unchanged, including TouchWiz.

Most likely, though there is a chance, that su binary will not be removed, in that case you keep the root.
Hi, I have a Note 3 model number SM-N9005 which is factory unlocked with no carrier on 4.4.2 in the UK.
I'm trying to root using the CF auto root thread instructions here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
I am unsure what file to download and was wondering if this one would work with my phone?
It is the second download option listed in the third post of the CF auto root thread.

Thanks for any help.

Yes it is. That download is for Note 3 with Device Type = hlte and Product Name = hltexx.
Just to make sure, as the download is based on Device Type and Product Name, check these info for your device with this app: Phone INFO ★Samsung★ (in GENERAL INFO section).

Hello everyone I am new to rooting phones and I was looking into CF-Auto Root since it is said to be beginner friendly. I was wondering if using this method would wipe my phone of everything I had on it or would it just give me root access while leaving everything else on the phone the same.

I know XDA is a reputable site, so I don't have to worry as much, but I know that theoretically speaking, downloading things outside of the official Android app store poses a risk for being malware or spyware.
So I'm only asking this in the spirit of just practicing utmost caution, how would I know that the CF-Auto-Root file, which can be found through the link below, is genuine and untampered with?

What Does Rooting break and how to repair?

Hi, I'm about to root my n910f 4.4.4 btu but I just need to know what the root "breaks".
I already know S Health is one of the things which stop working but what else (if anything)
Next question, how do you "fix" the apps so they work again while the phone is rooted?
Thank you.

S Health works perfectly fine after rooting. The only thing that it breaks is Knox (you won't ever be able to use knox anymore).
Shealth works of cours it breaks 2 things warranty XD and OTA ...well Knox works for me I rooted via towel root ....u can still get updates by disabling root temporary by using app on play store like root triangle away or something like that...and when u go to download mod ur Knox will trip and u can't fix that ...it won't affect u by any mean ...

Eh!I did to my s4 d s5..for note 4 u got to wait anyway I gave answer according to ur question press thanks if it helped may be u can try mobogenie one click root...I m not sure about triping Knox....did u try towelroot on note 4 is it supported ? Get the app and check it out..

Everything works except knox wich for the vast majority is not a problem. Warranty is a question of luck, some repair centers doesn't care about knox triped but others refuse to repair in that condition.

I rooted my first Note 4 and indeed after it was rooted S Health stopped working. Because the Note 4 had more issues I returned it to the shop and they exchanged it with a new one. My new Note 4 isn't rooted because of the S Health issue.
Dude, Root doesn't break S Health. I have it rooted since the fist day I owned it and tracks my fitness perfectly. Xposed is known to break S Health and Private mode but a Module fixes it. Right now I'm running the lastest Lollipop build and everything works perfectly fine.
The only thing that breaks is Knox. So if Samsung Pay comes to our device (right now is on S6) you couldnt use it as it requires a non triggered Knox. But, In my country, i doubt Samsung/Apple/Android pay will come to my near market.
S Health working fine on my rooted Note 4 too.
Root does NOT break S-Health. Something else did that, 100% sure. Most prolly Xposed or system bug. S-Health & Private Mode should work rooted for 99.99% of the time. the other times it's just individual phones thats the cause

You loose Knox which is a very handy feature if you like to have multiple identities / accounts (facebook, instagram etc) Or if you have multiple relations with girlfriends (no spying woman) and you also loose payments with fingerprint verification (FIDO) Actually you loose anything that uses the FIDO API This is not fixable anymore when rooted
