Has anyone had the DAC frequently skip? I noticed it doing it frequently and then shut it off and it doesnt happen. possibly could be lag on my 200GB memory card but i didnt have that problem on the V10.
Same problem here. Especially it was noticable at first day, i am experiencing less now, but still experiencing this. I hope for good suggestions.

Are you playing music from an external SD card?
Yes, i even use fat32 formatted sd card which i used with another dap before v20. Now i am formatting it on LG V20 as exfat, will it be helpful? I never experienced this kind problems with my previous phone Meizu Pro 5. my sd card is Lexar 200gb.

Same problem, very infrequently. However, your question is interesting. Could the problem possibly be because it's traveling from the card instead of the internal storage? It really shouldn't matter on a phone with these specs, I would think?
I never noticed the dac skipping on my first v20 or my third replacement v20 but i did notice it on my second v20 replacement device... Mine would skip on pandora and soundcloud but i figured it was T-mobiles network so i never complained. But i find it interesting that its happening with music already on the device. ?

Well my first device the bottom speaker blew and the 2nd one i had signal issues and the bottom speaker was kindy of acting up again... Hopefully the 3rd device is the winner. I like the phone.. I just hope it doesn't keep this cycle.
I reformatted my sd card via V20, still experience skipping frequently while using both player pro without dsp and stock music player.

Hi guys,
I have been struggling with this issue since I have bought this phone, but today I have solved it. When it slows down , I have checked the task manager and it says the manila.exe was eating 98% of the memory. I tried everything, then one of my friend needed my memory card and I gave him mine and then suddenly my HD2 went back to race car situation. I played with it 3 hours nothing changed so that concluded that memory card was defective. I have formatted it nothing changed and bought a new one. Now everthing is perfect. I cannot say this is the solution but it solved mine. You may try it.
Good luck
Bro, thanks but this problem has been answered before.
Its known that the micro sd m2 slows down the phone.
so basically the memory card it comes with is trash and you'll have to replace it or keep your phone running slow?
Didn't work for me.

i am not sure what class the sd card is that comes with our hd2's but i experienced the same thing. i just upgraded to a class 6 8gb card and the difference has been huge for me in terms of performance.
actually just your average class 4 SD card would make the phone perfome WAAAY beter.
I remeber when I purchase my HD2 and notice that it came with a 16GB class 2 card I was actually disappointed so I started using my 8GB class 4
So what ur all saying is that the major cause of phone lag is attributed to the cheap memory card?
Going to a class 6 from the garbage class 2 that came on the phone made a huge difference for me.
it will also improve the battery, especially for the people like myself that use the phone as an MP3 player. The battery drains so fast when I play music even with screen off....Im gonna look into a better sd card. It sucks though, the pack a craptastic Class 2 sd card and a small ass 1250 battery to power this massive screen. That still baffles me.
we shouldnt have to buy these
we should all just call tmobile and complain or take it to the tmobile forums, we all paid good money for these devices, last thing i need to do is go by something my phone already came with beacuse tmobile decided to cheap out.
When I got my phone I immediately swiched it out with my blackberry 16gb card. Everything T-mobile is trash except for the phone itself, I wish Verizon or AT&T wouldve gotten it. Coverage is behind horrible in my city with T-mobile. LOL

It's the write speed. They all read about the same. It's fast. But writing to them is much slower so they class them. You'll see a little number next to the company logo on the card. (2). The class 2 isn't horrible, but they had a batch. I used mine for a long time with no problems. But I did upgrade to a class 4 and things were better. Class 10 is the fastest that I know of but they are pricey.
Wow, i feel stupid for not knowing what the different classes were.
thanks. i'll be getting a new memory card soon
I rebooted my HD2 a couple of times because it was running SLOOOOW. Didn't understand what could be causing it - so using the dotfred task manager I discovered that for some reason Microsoft Voice Command was eating 100% of my CPU time...ha. I disabled voice command and all went back to normal. I rebooted a couple of times & re-enabled voice command and it seems to be ok now.
yeah the hd2 is a really great phone, the only thing keep alot of buyers away is the lag/freezes ): I think rooting and putting a custom rom will also solve it.

But then... It was pretty fast like 2 weeks ago for me. now... it just slowed down... i have two "class-2" cards 2gb and 8gb ones, and 2gb is actually much faster rotfl. I just having troubles with BROWSING my files on card cause even my "file explorer" lags when i do >.> So yeah.. it used to be better..
and yup. i hard reseted my phone and formatted my cards. didnt really helped me.
i tried replacing my memory card from class 2 to class 6. it still hanged
i still have to wait for the text message/s to arrive before i can resume doing anything on it
Hello;
I am considering shifting to HTC Evo 4G from X10i. What do you friends here suggest?
Also I heard about issues with HTC's 8GB SD Card. Is the problem solvable with replacing it with 3 party Micro SD Card?
I would read the other thread about the Massive Defect(NOT)...but read it nonetheless.
Formatting the card seems to resolve the issue. A third party card would work just the same.
A Non-Issue which people are making an issue about it.
That means it's ok to go with it.
How is the music player of Evo compared to iPhone? X10 really sucks when it comes to music.
Hi,
I have had choppy music playback from day one with my Droid Pro. Every single song skips / chops at least 5 times during its meager 4 minute playtime. Every 20 seconds, chhhip, it just chopped up.
Anyone else experiencing this? Screen off or on, app in foreground or background, doesn't matter.
Please post here with your music playback experiences.
i get a cracking or popping sound a couple times per song. its so fing annoying.
warranty exchange is not the answer. happens on two that ive tested.
so far i have tried:
multiple headphones.
multiple music apps.
hard reset (waste of time)
hopefully it will be fixed in a software fix (along with the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE battery life)
I love the form factor of this phone but it has some serious flaws. all fixable i hope.

Thank you so much for your reply. At least I now know its not just me.
I suspect other music players simply use the decoding library or the problem is somewhere deeper in the OS layering. Pray for a fix soon or some chef's to cook 2.3 into this amazing device. Touch screen and physical keyboard! Hallelujah!
Verizon better post up a fix soon... Its so annoying.... :'(
I have cut-outs when I'm listening and the phone gets a bit unresponsive.
I remember now why I left Verizon years ago - dumb things like shipping an inadequate battery and software fixes never arrived.
Sad too since the form-factor is perfect and the Torch is such a piece of junk.
Haven't had a single playback issue.... I use my DP as an mp3 player in my car all the time.

Over your car speakers you might not notice or you might be playing it back over A2D.
Try with headphones or the internal speaker.
As I said in another thread, I just tried playing music with the Pro, and it works fine for me. I used the stock music app and PowerAmp, and I tried it with both headphones and the internal speaker. No skips or anything.

Still works fine over a headset, over internal speaker, with doubletwist or the native music app. No issues on playback whatsoever.

It just came out - I wouldn't bash them just yet for not releasing any software fixes. The battery is from moto, not verizon by the way.
Its definitely a software problem. Hate to say anything bad about this phone because I do love it, but if you convert the songs to ogg instead of MP3 the crackling goes away (at least for me anyway). I seen someone say something about bad sd card so I moved an MP3 onto the phone's internal memory and still had the same crackling.
I've converted all of my music on the phone to OGG though and haven't had an issue since.

Not bashing, just funny how history rhymes - the T720i and the V710 both came from Motorola as well
But Verizon was the one that lost the class action suit on the V710, not Motorola
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verizon_Wireless
And let's not forget the XV6600 battery fiasco
http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/user_reviews.php?phone=570
I think those three phones in rapid succession were sufficient to get me to swear off VZW
PS

Getting off topic here, but every major carrier has faced lawsuits over stuff like this. ETF, incoming texts cost, all sorts of stuff. If you leave a company because they get sued about a lousy battery, you're going to have trouble finding a carrier with a halo and wings.
And your Audiovox link shows just as many people that loved that phone as did hate it.
Back on topic - I know about 5 people already with the dp and none have music playback issues of any sort.

Agree. The hardware and software is both from Motorola, it's just that since Verizon is selling it, Motorola modifies the OS according to their requirement and pre-including Verizon apps and settings.
i second that the sd card is not the problem. i switched to a new card last night and formated it in ther DP. same FING crackling. LOVE the phone and want to keep it. do you guys think a software fix is in the works? is there an official place to file a complaint or report a bug?

There is no way that this is an acceptable work around. The software bug needs to be fixed along with a nice 2.3 update asap.

I work here for Virgin mobile and it depends how hard we push manufacturers to fix software bugs. The ball is clearly in Verizon's court with respect to when this problem will be fixed.

Who knows... PS my music just skipped while typing this message.
I like the look of this pad !
however.. have a few concerns ..
1. are the speakers really that bad... can this be fixed. I have a BT speaker in my room would the volume still be as bad as headphones aparently are.
2. would the USB ports take a usb stick ? or a portable hard drive ?
3. would it be worth waiting for another model if I have till end of July to buy one ?
1. I have not had any problem with the speakers or using headphones, I have not used a bluetooth speaker so can't speak to that but I think the speaker problem is just on some devices
2. The USB ports on the dock will read USB sticks and USB hard drives, I have about 100 movies on a passport drive and watch them directly from the drive.
3. That is really up to you, there will always be something newer coming out, the Samsung Tab2 comes out this month but it has no external memory slot. You really need to decide what works for you and what will make you happy, for me the transformer has been perfect.
just what i wanted to hear, it is hard for me to tewst one in situ in store, so if the speaker problem is not universal then I may take the risk and order online without testing in store. Glad about the external HD as this makes me happier about only having the 16GB not 32 version.
Is memory allocated similar to my optimus 2x, that has a certain amount of internal memory then an internal SD card then external sd card. can you install programs onto external SD card ?

There is no mechanism to install apps to an external SD card, but that shouldn't be a problem since pretty much all the internal memory is available for application storage.
Regards,
Dave
+1. I have had no speaker issues. I regularly use Bluetooth headphones and a Bluetooth speaker. They both work great.
Anyone with the keyboard dock, does 3.1 support USB Speakers ?
i went and tried it in two stores. the speakers were very low and poor on both machines. In one store with only a little background noise i couldn't hear it full volume !!!! this has really put me off. also both stores unsure if were going to stock the keyboard seperatley, they also would not let me pay for a bundle and collect keyboard at later date as the bundle (not avaible yet was in one box)

Seriously? I mean didn't we solve that with Froyo? That's a pretty nasty thing to do... I was planning on buying the 16GB version but if this is true I might have to fork the 100$ more for the 32GB version

You know, I was going to do the same thing. But since I couldn't find a 32GB in stock, I picked up a 16GB. I have about 100 or so apps currently taking up about 1 GB out of 13 GB free space and I can't see myself having 1300 apps installed to even get close to hitting the ceiling.

In my case coming from beats this phone has very accurate tone reproduction. I am glad with the speaker and BT is very good in the car.
But then again it is also a matter of bitrate.....

are you using stock ROM that came on the phone? Otherwise a custom ROM may be the problem.
I don't hear anything that sounds like BT bitrate issues or experienced and connection issues with my T-Mobile LG G2 (stock). I would have noticed a problem with BT streaming in my car. This was something I dealt with on my GNex.
Sprint version. I have zero issues with bluetooth quality on stock rooted. The phone speaker itself is no htc one as far as sound goes but its not horrible. I bought a Satechi Bluetooth Touch speaker on amazon for my wife for xmas and it better than the Jawbone Jambox. Gives a beats pill a run for its money too. At 1/4 the price of both. Think I paid $25 for it during cyber week sale. Cant recommend that speaker enough, its incredible for its pricepoint.
BT audio quality has far more to do with the speaker it connects to than your phone. Of course no one knows what the exact problem you are havong is because you werent really specific.
When listening music or watch youtube, it's OK, nothing fancy about but when using speaker phone, it's 3 levels below horrible.
BT is OK

I do. It's freaking horrible. MP3's are crackle-y and the play speed is slowed down; it sounds like a record player or tape deck that is dragging.
I'm connecting to a Scala Q1 helmet headset. My old phone worked perfectly with this, but the LG G2 does not.
Has anybody found a solution for this?
