Hey guys, so my volume keys on my 6p suddenly stopped responding. And nothing happens when I hit up or down when I want to control my music volume. I didn't drop it or push too hard on the keys. Most recent app I can think of installing is greenify. Does anyone know why this might be happening?

I'll second this. I was on the 7.1.1 beta until I installed the December update this morning. Then my volume buttons stopped working.

Just saw someplace else that disabling Talkback with restore volume buttons. I tried it and it worked.
Happened to me too. It looks like the cause was the latest talkback update. Roll back to the factory version, and you should be just fine.
Me too...and confirm is the latest talkback update that cause it.
Wow, I have the same problem, anyone try wipe to test?
Nothing to fix it yet?
Mine are working now. When I restarted the phone, they say that TalkBack has stopped working then when I clicked "open again", and hit next with the default options without allocating anything for the keys when they ask and winning the tic-tac-toe game. The keys started working after I hit the finish button.

Try rolling back TalkBack
I used Settings/Accessibility/Then turned Access Switch Off. This worked for me

Hello!
I have an Galaxy s4 i9500 with newest DBT Firmware (after debranding the O2 Version).
But i have problems with the 2 Touchkeys under the display. The Touchkeys hangs all the time - sometimes i must touch 7 times on the back key until it shows an reation.
Is this an software or an hardware problem?
Anyone else with those problems?
Is there nobody else with this problem?
Any ideas how i can fix this?

I have the exact same problems.
It has existed ever since I got my phone, and I thought it was normal. Last night, the touchkeys stopped working completely.
Before I went to bed, I popped the battery and then turned the phone back on. To my delight, the touchkey buttons worked amazingly after it booted up. I was happy and went to bed.
When I woke up this morning, I tried the buttons again and they had gone back to being unresponsive. I popped the battery again but this time it didn't do anything different, the touchkeys were still unresponsive.
I am thinking about returning it to the store.
Thanks for your Reply!
I´ve already contacted samsung if there is a known problem. But they just say that i must reset the phone and shouldn't install any apps from the app store. They think its a problem with a app..... i dont think so but i will give it a try...

I am gonna try restoring the phone to factory defaults and see if that works. I'll keep you posted.

Ok, I tried the factory reset and it did not fix the problem. The touch key buttons are still randomly working and then randomly not working.
At least my device is now ready to go back to the store.
Ok, so I returned the device, got a new one and the buttons work properly now. Woo hoo!
The previous unit was defective.
Hi all... 2 nagging issues since updating to 4.3. I am stock, never rooted this phone and simply forced the ota update.
When clicking on Google search to open Google now, it will randomly force close. It starts to load my cards, then shuts down. I've cleared app data and same results. Happens randomly.
Works fine when first opened, but kill it then try and reopen it. Half the time it closes on me. Un-installed latest version and reverted to previous update and works fine. I saw someone else complain about the same issue in the play store and I also read that perhaps I should factory reset.
I also noticed the following... if you have ripple effect checked for lock screen, when your phone screen is off, then turn your screen on either with power button or with the home button and swipe to unlock immediately, upon screen waking up, the phone does not always do a smooth transition into the home screen. It seems like the majority of the time it flashes a quick black then into home screen. This behavior does not happen with lock screen effect on none or light.
Can somebody be so kind to test these two issues above (try it several times as it doesn't always happen on first go) and let me know if you are experiencing the same issues before I try a factory reset?
Thanks so much
EDIT: DId the factory reset, and still seeing the above issues. Must be 4.3 bugs. Would still love to get other user feedback
Google search does the same thing to me sometimes. If i click the search bar and start to type or hit the mic too talk it will force close on me. But if i just open it and dont touch anything for a couple seconds and then start typing itll be fine.

Thanks for answering. Can you also test the second issue with ripple effect and unlocking the phone immediately after? At least I cleaned the phone up by doing a factory restart.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
Ripple effect is pretty smooth for me and goes straight to the home screen or whatever screen i was on last.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
It is for the most part for me, however turn power on and almost instantly as screen turns on swipe the ripple to unlock. See if you get the flashing black.its very short flash.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
I don't see it lol i dont like the Ripple effect tho it was cool on the s3 but the light effect is so much better looking

Problems I am having are:
1. Downloaded apps install icon over another app.
2. When I turn on WIFI I get a warning that an app tried to access system without authorization and has been stopped.
The only one that really bothers me is the WIFI problem but the other one is kinda annoying as well.
Never mind, I factory reset and problems went away.
Let me preface this by saying this is my experience. I am passing this off to see if others are experiencing the same thing. I am not dissing this phone because I really like it.
I have seen more than 10 random reboots with this phone. The crazy part is when the phone reboots, I lose settings.... Like a lot of them. I recently experienced and my notification bar started malfunctioning where the settings would not pull up and I could not long press panels. I finally had to factory reset my phone.... After that, it rebooted again this morning while I was listening to the radio.
At this point I am going to have start a log to try to correlate where the problem might be.
This is very concerning. I have never experienced anything like this even with custom Roms.
Please let me know if anyone else is experiencing this.

I've read that other people are experiencing this too. Hopefully mine doesn't come like this. I would recommend returning it and getting a new one. This is ridiculous that this is happening
Try removing all apps you installed and see if you cant pin it down to an app but if all said and done and phone is stock meaning you installed no additional apps and still see it happen then to me sounds like a Hardware problem and you should return it for a replacement.

I'm having the exact same issues. Once or twice a day, usually in USA Today or IHeartRadio, it reboots. Once I experienced that loss of settings also and had to factory reset. I'm going to return the phone.
Try wiping the cache partition

Is there a way to do this on a non-rooted phone?
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Go into recovery mode with phone completely off .volume down+home button+power button. If that doesn't work factory reset and if that doesn't work return the phone or if possible reflash stock firmware through ODIN.

Yes, I use bluetooth to listen to IHeartRadio. I tried clearing the cache thru recovery. It did not work.

I have been watching watchespn for about an hour with my bluetooth headphones... No problem. I need to test iHeartRadio some more. With that said, I think there is a deeper issue here just because I've never seen settings get changed like that.

My Bluetooth streaming was janky got this notification and restarted the phone. Problem gone. Dunno the relevance but this was a system notification
Just switched back to iHeartRadio on bluetooth, I was coming here to read a reply so I clicked the home button and rebooted.

The beta version (6.0.0) of the IHeartRadio app seems to have fixed my reboot problem (which was happening on both bluetooth and earphone modes).
Update, it is still rebooting, even using the beta.
First reboot of the day. IHeartRadio and Bluetooth. I am already running 6.0.0 of the app.

(note that I don't typically do iHeartRadio and Bluetooth on the weekends.)

My experience was different. I didn't have any random reboot but I did get the phone just hang.
Before my Springbreak trip I was testing out a sport camera and downloaded an app that could remotely control the camera. Everything seemed to be working smoothly during the test. Then when I was done, I shut down the camera, turned off the phone and started packing up.
Then I needed to use the phone, so I turned it on.. it's turned on but I couldn't do anything, the screen was unresponsive.. I couldn't swipe or press anything... I attempted to reboot it... the power button still worked... the reboot menu came on but I couldn't press anything... I still could turn the screen on and off and brought up the reboot menu.. but jsut couldn't do anything with it..
Only one option was available which is to force it reboot by holding Power and Down volumne.
That was weird, especially on a brand new device.
I've seen it reboot a few times, and it is especially annoying when you are trying to show your device off and it reboots...in front of people...randomly. I am not sure if I want to return it just yet because it is a Touchwiz/android bug that I have experienced on other devices as well. It MAY be an app issue but I can't pinpoint it yet.
I was trying to launch my DJI Phantom app and it just hung/restarted - got stuck on tmobile screen and it wouldn't let me do a hard-reset! Had to wait a few mins and it recycled.

This is exactly what happened to mine, I was going to return it and put it on the charger and it rebooted. Knock on wood, No problems since. I'm going to keep a close eye on this in case I need to exchange.
Yes, same here. Bluetooth headset with iHeartRadio makes the phone reboot and lose some settings. Maybe a bug with iHeartRadio and 6.0.1.
How do I fix this? After updating to Oreo yesterday. My AOD stopped working. I have to restart my phone to make it work and after a few hours it will stop displaying in the screen again.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
Any workaround for this?

anyone experiencing the same issue?
I had the same issue. I shutdown and restarted the phone and AOD started displaying so far.
I have the same issue. Have not found a solution anywhere yet.
If I restart AOD works for some time(1-2hrs) and stops working again. Very weird
Just wanted to clarify this with you guys, does AOD consume more batt then switch it off? Sorry if this is a stupid question.
It's so irritating that I have to restart my phone everytime AOD stops displaying. I'm a busy person and I find AOD a very useful feature, i dont have to touch my phone to check the time and notifications.
I will do a factory reset later. I will let you know if the problem still exist.

My AOD worked all day after I did a shutdown and restart. However overnight it seemed to stop working, when I woke up this morning it was not working. I rebooted and it did not resume. I shutdown and restarted, it did not seem to work right away but after about thirty minutes is started working again.
i have done factory reset and so fat it is working, no issues.. I guess i'll give it a week and see if it will still have issues.
Just found out the cause of this issue.
AOD stops working after I take screenshots using bixby button. (Yep, I remapped my bixby to take a screenshot via bxActions)
Sad I have to disable it. Actually just the single press, i still use the long press as flashlight and AOD seems to be working fine.

It is always a good idea to do a factory reset after you either do a major OS update (like Nougat to Oreo) or switch carriers to take care of any funky issues like this. It may help you out on this. Just paying it forward.

Same problems with my J5 2017 + AOD Installed separately
So yeah, after installing the oreo update I got yesterday, the AOD stopped working. And yeah, the AOD did not come with my j5, but I wanted it so badly. Now, the only worry is that it doesn't work and cannot install the latest version of that. Please help ?
AOD Problem after update
So i found that my AOD isn't showing after the Oreo Update, so i kept on searching for the cause in my Settings and gladly i found the solution.
Go to your Settings- Lock Screen- AOD Settings - Display Mode, switch to Show always.
It was set on "Tap Display " which requires you to tap your screen then shows for 30 seconds, after the update.
Try it! Hoping that this would help some

So for some reason my oneplus has just stared to soft reboot. The problem is that it doesn't want to boot again... It just shows the spinning white balls. It's the second time today it has happened and the first day since i updated it on the 1st of november. Any idea what to do or how to fix it? I can hard reboot it by holding down the power button and top volume key and the phone reboots fine. All I want to know is if there's a fix. Also is anyone else having this issue?
I rolled back to Android 9 until things like this get fixed, I recommend backing up your data and rolling back until OnePlus makes Android 10 more stable.

I'm having this issue, too.
I really regret "upgrading"
I've had this happen a few times since I upgraded. The first two times were within an hour of each other, but rebooting into recovery and charge cache now seems to prevent it happening... just one time in the last week. I'm on a converted T-Mobile. I wonder if it's just that model that's affected. hopefully the problem will go away after the next update. but since it only seems to affect me infrequently it doesn't seem s big problem at the moment.
Maybe this guide that I just made will help you guys out https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/how-to/reboot-to-bootloader-flashing-rom-fix-t4006259
I found holding the power button and volume up at the same time for about 10-15 seconds stops the spinning and turns the device off. Turning the device on normally after works with no problem.
Happened me too,was stuck in a loop of doing this for 20 mins or so before I realized it wasn't gonna stop, holding the buttons trick worked to switch off the device,
Have hard reset and hasn't happened this week,
Waiting eagerly on next update
Same here. Usually happens when using Whatsapp Instagram. WTF is Oneplus doing. Such Huge bug. Tried clearing cache as suggested still having problem.
Gang, Android 10 us loaded with bugs and unstable and personally, for me, not "good enough" for daily use.
I would hold onto Pie until Android 10's issues get worked out.

I got same issue today too. Are you all using stock OOS 10 or do you have also TWRP/Magisk as well?
It's a know bug and will be fixed in the next update (They have marked it as fixed in the changelog of the last beta of Hydrogen OS).
