Hi
I recently lost my phone, but it's cleared of all data. I have things on it I would not like recovered, but it's 5-6 months ago and like 50 factory resets (i'm a heavy flasher) since that.
Thanks in advance

I have to say tonight was an evening full of surprises with my HD...
Came home, plugged it into USB, the Sync went normally, I uploaded a jpg file to the main memory and assigned it to a contact. Didn't really do anything else with the phone. It was laying next to the keyboard when I noticed it simply rebooted, without absolutely any action on my behalf.
Then it got to "smart mobility" screen and stood there for like 5 minutes. I figured out something wasn't right, so I unplugged it, tried to push some keys - nothing happened. Removed the battery and turned it on again.
The moment I saw Windows screen in green (had the black version ) I had a bad feeling. And I was right. I got into Windows setup, watched the system install itself, went through the configuration screens and ended up in a freshly hard-resetted Touch Flo 3D.
Everything reverted to factory state. The contacts were gone, the programs, the messages... Absolutely everything. Except for the SD card. Nothing was changed there, all the old data remained.
I'm very pissed off at the moment, because I finally got everything setup the way I wanted it
Has anyone had similar experiences and do you know what could have caused this??
The golden question:
Did/do you backup?
If yes, then good.
If not, learn to backup.
I/we backup on a daily basis. SPB Backup runs at 3am everyday and backsup everything on the main storage to the storage card and keeps the past 5 days worth of backups. This way, if a backup, say 2 days ago was corrupt, I can still restore to the 3rd day before. Select the "self-restoring" option as you can restore on the fly. While on vacation in Salzburg my phone suddenly became slow. So I hard reset (while in a cafe in the old town) and then restored to the day before (which was about 6 hours ago because it was 9am at the time). Problem SOLVED - on the fly.
Why it self hard resetted? Maybe some smart member will be able to figure out why, Im guessing "**** happens" happened.
Didn't have backup :/
I was actually just yesterday going to check some backup software, but I guess I remembered it a day too late
Still, no big damage. Contacts were backed up via Active Sync, as well as My documents, I just lost the stored SMS and MMS stuff (actually, it's a shame for MMS, had some nice nude photos of a very busty girl there
My biggest concern is why did it happen. I just can't seem to figure it out. I didn't do anything with the phone at all, didn't install any new software, didn't change any system settings... I'm just confused.
For quickies purposes, use PPC PIM Backup by DotFred. Its free but worth hundreds asit backs up your PIM info (contacts, sms, mail, tasks, appointments, speed dials).
Greetings all. I'm a recent Focus user having a frustrating issue. When my phone has been on for 12 or more hours (meaning it has been 12+ hours since I booted it from an "off" state) I stop receiving text messages. When I restart my phone they all appear at once, as if they were stuck somehow. I then can receive texts normally until it happens again, always within 24 hrs. This has happened on the locked stock rom as well as the unlocked custom rom I am currently using. The only thing I can think of is that somehow the SD card (SanDisk 8gb class 2) is not completely compatible (I used my own card. I purchased the phone used so it didn't come with the factory card) Any advice on the proper course of acting leading to resolution would be appreciated. Thanks for reading
Try running the diagnosis app, entering *#32489#, Back, Back, 7 (Network Control), 1 (GCF), 3 (Setting Cancellation), End. That operation has been effective in clearing up my own SMS oddities such as delayed messages. Thanks goes to somebody on this forum for it originally.
Thanks! I gave it a try. Unfortunately it will take a day or so to test. I appreciate the help and will post the results.
It has been several days now without a restart and the problem has not ocurred again. Thank you for the tip!
Hi there. I'm going to try to keep this brief, because there's a lot going on.
Basically, my friend used to have a Droid Pro. She wants some important texts off the phone.. Problem is, she dropped the phone in water and it's messed up. This was some time ago, so it's dry now.
When she gave it to me, it was hanging at the red Motorola logo for about 3-5 minutes, then going into the bootloader with a BATTERY LOW, CANNOT PROGRAM error.
So I bought her a new battery and charged it up using a friend's old Droid 1. Now, I get BATTERY OK, OK TO PROGRAM. Now, I have absolutely no experience with ever rooting a phone or anything like that. So I looked up online and found RSD Lite 6.1.5, and the SBF file DROIDPRO 2.26.20. I flashed it, and the RSD screen said PASS.
However, when I reboot the phone now, I get a (now black-and-white) Motorola logo for about 5 minutes, then a bootloader with BATTERY OKAY again. I tried wiping the cache from the recovery menu with no result.
My question is, is there any way I can get into the phone without a factory reset? It looks like I have to do that to get the phone working, but if I do that I wipe the phone, which removes the purpose of saving the SMS messages.
Thanks for reading, and I really appreciate any comments on the matter.

Hi
I got 2 of these phones a month ago.
The one has done a factory reset twice in the last 3 days. The phone just turns off by itself and when I turn it on the Android setup wizard starts up and all my apps, photos etc is gone. I took it back to the store and the guy said 4 other people has the same problem and he doesn't have a solution. The phone is not rooted.
Android version 4.1.2
Software version P71310b-ZAF-XX
Please let me know if you have any suggestions, I'm wasting all my data reinstalling my apps.

In November I had bought 2 Samsung Galaxy S5's from Walmart through Straight Talk. One for me and my Wife. They worked perfectly until about the middle of March, and my Wife's phone had kept restarting non stop whether she was on it or not. Sometimes more than once in a 30 second span. Then one day it didn't do it for about 2 days.. then MY PHONE starts doing it. Non stop all throughout the night and just die from battery drainage. I eventually contact Straight Talk to do a swap for a different one since I still had warranty. It takes them about 10 days total for me to get my replacement. The entire time my phone was sent out my Wife's never restarted or acted up once. I get my replacement yesterday and mine phone is running great and hers tonight just RESTARTED ON IT'S OWN. I'm very confused because it seems are phone's are making one another restart? I have heard problems of the S5's restarting for no real reason at all, but why would hers be doing it only when I had gotten mine back up and running? I'm seriously out of answers and tired of this restarting issue happening. We have tried factory reset, freeing up space, deleting all apps, safe mode, clearing cache often, and the problem still persists. If anyone could help, I would be truly thankful!
