No in/out audio on calls-G935FD - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi
I got a G935FD rooted and now there's no sound in (audio in earpiece) or out (mic). Calls are being made and I even get that sound you press the call button, but it's silent from that point on. I get an "unconditional call forwarding active" toast, but when I look in voice call forwarding it all seems disabled.
The process I went though is this:
-replaced the original United Arab Emirates I got with from the box with a stock South Asia rom. I did so because I updated the original one and was unable to root it that way
-rooted based on files and instruction by Max Lee.
After it didn't work I had tried:
-wipe cache
-wipe data, dalvik, and cache
Any ideas?

Voice and Text Suddenly not working

Hey guys,
So, a few hours ago, my phone stopped receiving or sending text messages or phone calls. The strange thing is that the phone's data is still working!
I have no idea where to start. I wiped the phone and reinstalled the ROM I was using (Cyanogen). Txt and calls still didn't work. So, I wiped and installed a different ROM (AOSP). Still no TXT and calls but I have data (3G)...
Any suggestions?
eamon
1) download sense based ROM to sd card (not in a folder)
2) in recovery make nandroid backup
3) wipe data/system/cache/dalvik cache
4) flash sense ROM
5) in "about phone" update PRL and profile
6) send and receive a text
7) in recovery nandroid sense ROM for future use
8) wipe like #3
9) restore original nandroid

GT-5360 Dialer App problem

Hello everybody
I am facing a problem with my dialer app
When i try to call someone from my dialer app , after entering the phone no. and pressing the button the phone returns to the home screen and no call gets placed.
The same happens when i try to call a person from the contacts app .After swiping the contact the contacts app also hangs and no call is placed.
If by chance it works, some weird things happen : For example if I dialed Person A's no. and it failed and then i called Person B , the call gets placed to the person A's no. The phone also hangs in between placing calls and back button stops responding
All I do is restart the phone again to make calls properly.
What can be a solution to this problem?
Specifications :
Samsung Galaxy Y GT-S5360 Black
Stock firmware (No rooting)
Since you are using stock rom & not a custom rom its not a rom bug
I'll assume you have flashed no themes or charged the phone.apk or dialertabactivity.apk
You can try two things
Go into CWM (hold power button vol+ & home button till phone enters recovery & then flash temp cwm - search if you don't already have it)
format data/reset
restart
Note this will format your phone (not sd card) so backup any apps contacts messages etc
If that doesn't work flash stock rom via odin - see dokys thread in dev section
again backup everything
But isn't there any easy way to do it?
I tried clearing and stopping the app from manage applications menu in settings but no good result.
I am a newbie to flashing and formatting but I cannot reset it to factory settings because it is my mom's phone and contains a lot of data
Since you're not using a custom rom your not deodexed rooted or flashed any mods there is no way to pin point what is wrong
Best thing to do is wipe data or reflash stock rom via odin
However you can try follow
back up all contact data - there are playstore apps you can use
Goto phone settings
applications
manage applications
click all to show all apps if not already showing
find phone
click on it the wait till it's finished computing
Once available click clear data
Do same for following
contacts
contact storage
Restart then test - if it's fine restore your contacts & test again

[Q] Samsung Keyboard Issues

Hi,
I'm on the LTE Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with KitKat 4.4.2 preinstalled. Anyone with the same issues below able to provide any advice? I came from an SGS II with an AOKP-based ROM and Samsung's new phone is driving me nuts. Trying not to root/custom ROM it until after my warranty has expired as my local service centres can be pretty anal.
1) I had added both English (UK) and English (US) as language packs, but now realised that English (UK) keeps getting set as the default, and some of the often used punctuation on the UK keyboard doesn't match what I usually use (and screws up my input when I'm using a US-styled keyboard.) I've removed the English (UK) input language in the keyboard's settings, but it still shows up (and sets as default) whenever I'm using the keyboard. The 'reset' features in the settings resets everything EXCEPT the downloaded input language files. How can I remove this language? Or perhaps at least set English (US) as the default? (similar to my system locale settings)
UPDATE to (1): Apparently the "Reset" does work, somewhat... I still can't remove the extra languages downloaded, but resetting does set my default back to English (US). Oddly under the downloaded languages list if you press option there is a "Delete" button, but it's disabled for all languages.
UPDATE 2 to (2): Ugh. For some odd reason, this morning "English (UK)" decided to return without it being selected in the list (I didn't even reboot or anything this time!), and this time no amount of resetting works. I even tried clearing the app cache and data from application manager to no avail. Seriously contemplating a factory reset since the setting gets in the way *everytime* I enter a new text field to type. What the hell is wrong with Samsung and their software?!
2) I also tried using other keyboards, however Samsung Keyboard (and "English (UK)") keeps getting set as the default upon every reboot. Any advice?
Preferably I would like to continue keeping Samsung Keyboard as an option (due to some of its features on Note 3), but the constant reset to English (UK) when it is unwanted is driving me crazy.
Thanks.
Is your main system language set to US or UK?

Original I set it up as English (UK) so I thought that was the problem. After that I actually did a full factory restore, selected English (US) but the problem came back again.

I have a problem on my Note 3 N9005 regarding the "Samsung keyboard has stopped". It started when I flash yesterday the Luxembourg NC2 firmware. I came from Poland NB3 firmware. The installation failed so I tried it again and again. My phone doesn't reboot it just show that I need to fix it through Samsung Kies but the status is still custom since it failed the installation. It's always failed so I decided to flash CWM and perform wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe dalvik cache and it reeboted. When it rebooted, the Samsung keyboard is unable to use even i perform another factory reset. As of now I'm using a different keyboard. Can anyone suggest me what can I do to be able to use the samsung keyboard? I like it better than any third party keyboard. Thanks in advance

Adapt sound not working?

Whenever i go to adapt sound and try to turn on personalize sound, i get a pop up message saying "Adapt Sound keeps stopping: Close app". Does anyone else have this problem? I have the Galaxy s8 from tmobile.
Had this problem aswell. Clear the app data and cache then try again. Fixed it for me.
How do you do this as I'm having the same problem?
You should clear data and cache also clear dalvik-cache if possible. It not works, try to flash latest version with ODIN from Sammobile.

Any fix for call failures on Oreo roms

Forgive me if this has been resolved in the past, I have looked high and low for a solution, and no amount of Google-fu has found a solution.
Variant: A2017U
The issue is as follows:
On every Oreo Rom I have tried (Lineage included), I have had this issue where after an hour or so, I will never actually receive calls.
My phone will ring, but I will get no notification from the phone that there was ever a call, neither a missed call notification, nor any entry into the dialer call history.
When I attempt to even attempt to access the dialer in this state, the dialer fails to work. The dialer _does_ open, but it's void of any content at all, and will not make a call, almost as if the entire dialer framework has broken top to bottom.
This has happened in every single Oreo rom tested, AEX, DotOS, Lineage, and AOKP all show the same results.
The process I have used for most attempts has been:
1: Wipe System, Cache, Dalvik, and Data (result is the same with internal storage wiped)
2: Flash Bootstack (Last attempt was with DrakenFX's Universal Bootstack v2, have also attempted with Oki's B12 iEDL, flashed with MiFlash)
3: Flash Modem (A2017U_OreoModem.zip as provided for Lineage 15.1)
4: Run Party (if vendor required by rom)
4: Set dm-verity enforcing
5: Reboot back to recovery, install rom, gapps
6: Initial Setup, reboot to recovery
7: Install Magisk
I have also attempted to do this in varying orders as well, and all result in the same thing.
Every time, I end up limping back to my latest Nougat AEX 4.6 backup.
I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm missing something, like the modem package being bad, but I'm not entirely certain.
Has anyone else encountered this issue?
If so, how did you overcome it?
When you cant get calls try open stock sms messaging. If it hangs then I had the same issue.
The issue is contacts sync. If you force stop it, you should be able to get calls again.
Not sure how I permanently fixed but it was a mix of using Google's messages app, dirty flashing Pico gapps and clearing contacts data
Sorry, I can't remember exactly how it fixed for me

Click to collapse
Thanks for the response, I'm trying again right now, I'll update when I can confirm or deny success.
Hopefully I can figure out exactly how to fix it with that information.
