A500 bricked - need help

Hey guys,
a friend of mine has got a problem and I hope you may can help me.
He had 3.2 on his tablet and wanted it to root. So he did the "downgrad method" an everything worked well. Then he flashed the Thor ICS Rom with CWM. Everything was fine, but he wanted to flash antoher ROM.
I don´t know why, but instead of using the CWM full backup he flashed again the "downgrade_not_stable" file.
Now he is stuck on the Android boot screen.
CWM isn´t available anymore, so he can´t flash another ROM.
Is there any option to solve this problem?
Go to settings and then about. Go to system update at the top. This should get him back to stock 3.2/3.2.1.THIS WILL TAKE A WHILE... You will need wifi as it downloads official update.
After getting back to stock 3.2/3.2.1 go to android market and install the acer recovery installer and also install iconia root, you should find both here somewhere.
THEN downgrade to 3.0.1.
Run iconia root, then acer recovery installer (puts cwm back on tab).
Install rom of choice by transferring .zip file onto sd card and booting into cwm.....
At first thanks for your fast answer.
The problem is that he is stuck on boot screen which means he isn´t able to go to any settings. After downgrade from ICS to 3.0.1 not stable, he only sees the Android Boot logo
Sounds like it was a bad rom BAD Download..

Thank you all!
We will give this a try, even if the Rom he used to downgraded doesn´t seem to be bad. (He allready succsefully used it to downgrade and root from stock rom before flashing ics and doing weird stuff ) But maybe there just went something wrong with the downgrading process. Worth to give this other rom a try.
I have an additional question: Isn´t it possible, that there is a problem with the kernel used with the ics rom and the needed kernel of the downgrade rom?! (sorry i don´t really know about this stuff)
/edit: Ok following problem: USB debugging is not turned on and he can´t turn it on because he is stuck in boot :/
Try holding down power and - volume, when acer logo appears then rock the screen lock button back and forth once. This should clear cache and user data.
Try flashing the 3.0.1 update file again using acer recovery (you might try downloading again in case its a corrupt file) and see if that works.... Then install iconia root and acer recovery installer to root and reinstall cwm.
If this doesn't work, I'm out of ideas....

That sounds like a good idea.... nev3r knew about rocking the lock button..
Read about it lots but never tried it - never had to... At this point you know just as much about it as I do....
Thank you all for your help but nothing worked.
My friend called the Acer support. They said it should be an hardware defect (I don´t really believe it) and they want him to send the tablet to the support to replace it...
Just tell him to use the EUU tool from timmyDean's thread to flash stock rooted 3.2.1 from your PC or use the method 1 downgrade from my signature.
Oh, and he doesn't have a "bad download", and he flashed the same 3.0.1 that worked the first time. The mistake was done when he flashed 3.0.1 over thor's Asus based ROM 3.2.1 making it a mess.

[q] help telus s4 stuck in bootloop

I am familiar with flashing custom roms, I used to own a Canadian Rogers Note 2 and flashed many different roms on the phone before. I recently signed up with Telus and upgraded to the S4. I installed TWRP and rooted the phone. Last night I made an EFS backup with TWRP and tried to flash this rom on my phone http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391142 . Now my phone is stuck in a bootloop it keeps showing the galaxy s4 screen trying to start up but it wont. I can still get into TWRP and I tried doing a restore but Im stuck in the bootloop and its doing the same thing. I just want to restore my phone back to stock or stock root, can someone help me out please?

Did you flash a kernel for your phone after flashing the rom? And when you say it's in a boot loop, how long did you give it? It can take a long time on the first boot.
I didnt flash any kernal just the rom, the phone tries to turn on by showing the samsung galaxy s4 screen then shuts down and tries to reboot, it continued to do this for 10 min and everytime I try to turn on the phone it does the same thing

Only (real) issue I have seen with WiFi not working on STOCK ROM is a user called @samuel clarke had issues with his, and it turned out that his motherboard was fubar. And he had to send it off for repair. It may be possible that your MB has a similar issue, although it could be something very trivial causing it also.

Not really messed with restoring efs yet I'm afraid :-/ - although that day will come soon, just flashed TWRP myself ready for a custom ROM. You may have to use another tool to restore efs maybe? - still scanning around myself filling my brain with information.
my wifi is switching on and is finding the networks just when i connect it freezes for a bit then says unable to connect to network
only seems to be since ive returned to stock does the baseband, modem have anything to do with wifi?

Well the EFS backup/partition stuff contains WiFi Mac address etc, so could be that it is corrupted slightly? --- Best case I can think of now at this moment in time after reading a fair bit, is to re-restore your EFS and ROM etc and see how it does?

You have the 14MB or so EFS file? -- I read somewhere earlier on how to restore, just trying to find the link now!
---------- Post added at 04:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:00 PM ----------
simpliest method for efs backup (from device):
1. Download a terminal emulator from playstore
2. Open it and type: Su
3. Allow superuser permission when asked
4. Type this: Dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 of=/storage/extsdcard/efs.img bs=4096
5. Check your external sd card, there is a efs.img file (14 mb), do some copy in a secure storage.
For restore:
1. You need your efs.img in your external sd card
2. Open terminal and type: Su
3. Type this: Dd if=/storage/extsdcard/efs.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11 bs=4096
4. Reboot

Not sure how this could help, but maybe if you could potentially restore using the same process if you have the file on your SD CARD?

Ahh bugger, it could be that you have a dodgy EFS file backup then :crying: -- You may need to make a new backup, it's possible if it's currently corrupted it will still read the settings properly... However there's always that risk, You may need to seek advice from a Dev I think or someone who is fluent in EFS restores/backups.
Sorry I couldn't help, good luck though man, let me know how you get on.
ive checked both efs files and both seem ok just getting them to flash back on phone thats been a pain how are people flashing them from a aroma efs backup>

You'll most certainly have to seek a Dev's advice then or someone who definitely knows what they are doing, For now I wouldn't try and flash anything else or mess about in case you manage to lose EFS data and/or brick your phone.
EDIT: Is there no restore option in Aroma when you reinstall?

EDIT2: You may have one final option - Emergency recovery mode via KIES _ not 100% sure if it'd work, but it may help you at least get back to stock unrooted with EFS back to normal.

From Lineage OS back to Stock

I've had LOS for 6 months now and really impressed with it but want to go back to stock ROM or to a debloated stock ROM because of how bad the camera is and battery is on LOS. It wasn't really bothering me much back then but now I need it more than ever. I have TWRP flashed as well if that helps.
I ask you guys to help me get back as close to stock ROM as possible or a debloated stock ROM and please show me how. I have Odin and Samsung Drivers.
Also can I get some suggestions on what ROM I should download and where?
Thanks in advance. :good:

Just go back to stock marshmallow ROM. Best for battery .. Do your own debloat. Many threads here that explain in a safe way. For the rom collection, sammobile.com has many types.. but for free downloads, it is very slow. I recommend going to samsung-updates.ru for a quick download. But few types are provided. Good luck.

You don't need wipe anything. Actually, flash stock ROM with odin via AP slot, it will wipe everything (If your phone ROM is different from the one you're flashing) .. including internal memory / sdcard. So backup first if you need it. You need ODIN for flash stock ROM instead of TWRP.

Flashing via PC odin will not touch your data neither in internal nor external sd cards so no need to remove the card from the phone. You only need to back up your user data which you will lose like: contacts, SMS, call history, system settings etc.

Basically for OTA to work you need to be unrooted so it should work but why not to chose easier way - just download latest stock MM Rom for your country and flash it via odin.

Yea .. that really happened. But if I flash from the same ROM, it will not be re-format. Using Odin v3.13. My device G900D. Probably not Odin's cause. Maybe my ROM auto-reformat all when flash above custom system. Lol .. just my guess ..

Check updato.com. I used sammobile.com but it is rather slow and you have to be registered.
im downloading official firmware now.
going Lineage 15.1-20180903-nighlty 8.0.1 --------> G900TUVS1FOL1 6.0.1 and then back to lineage. Hopefully this will allow the unlock code to actually work.
It kept looping after i put it in so i figured it was a rom thing since the tmobile stuffs gone. Its cool, i needed the practice anyway. lol
I wanto to do the same.
From LOS 15.1 I want to go back to the official ROM.
I found it (cannot post the Url because I'm a new user) but I have trouble downloading it, even if I bought the fast connection speed.
I have a Mac and I don't have Odin and I'm trying to figure out how to restore it.

Believe it or not, MacOS is actually the best go to for a portable platform. I was kinda like you until I actually used one.
Although I am using a budget grade gaming laptop from ASUS, I cannot deny how polished it is at doing general everyday things.

I will be attempting almost the same exact thinkg tonight, but going from Lineage16 to G900TUVU1GQC2 so I can enter my unlock code.
You mentioned the phone was looping....when was this? after you entered the code in stock? Or after you went back to Lineage?
Also, did you reinstall TWRP and restore a backup of Lineage and was able to keep unlocked? I read somewehere restoring a backup after unlocking will lock the network again.
