Like the title says, the new T-Mobile version of the S2 with the Snapdragon processor. Is there any type of development being looked at for it? I'm looking to be able to debloat it at the very least. Any knowledge of that here at all?
UPDATE: So looks like that TWRP for the T819 works great for the T818 devices. Go to this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/ta...2-1-galaxy-tab-s22016-sm-t713-t3390627/page67 and follow the directions there.
All thanks and credit to @ashyx and any other TWRP devs for this.
I too would like to know about this. I just want root. I read that 813 may be possible because of processor but I don't know

Don't know if you noticed in the TWRP thread, but we finally have our answer. Try using TWRP for the T819. I'll be giving it a try after work. If you do it sooner can you let me know if it works? One of us is going to have to be the guinea pig.

Did you go into developer settings and make sure OEM unlocking was checked? Says in the TWRP op that you may have to do that.

Anyone tried it on the T818a?
would love to update my device and get it rooted but im not seeing much development on it. Anyone know it this works on the AT&T S2 (SM-T818?)

I got a Droid Razr M for an upgrade, Worked great so i rooted it, Still worked great all that day, then i went to sleep and when i woke and the WiFi would not work!
The toggle switch turned a darker gray, When i tap it it turns on then in a split second turns back off.
I have done a Factory Data Reset and then i did a hard reset and then i wiped the hole thing out and re flashed it to its original state. Still would not work!
So as a last resort contact Motorola for support and they tell me that i had rooted my device and there is nothing they can do. I didn't say anything about rooting it so they must be logging all users data. (Invasion of Privacy?)
So i am back here again, Not being able to use WiFi, On a 2GB/M plan. f%$king peace of $#!+.
Nothing else is bad! Its just the wifi!?

Ok, SaturnsVoid... so, first, sorry to hear about the problem. Motorola/VZ is giving you BS... rooting won't break your WiFi unless you did something or installed something that would...
What's your current system version?
Have you taken any OTAs since you had it? If not, you may still be able to unlock.
Also, may want to try using WiFi Connection Fixer on the Play Store (requires root...)
If those don't work, try PMing me... I can help you work it out...

Look in the "Note 4 is rooted" thread or almost every other thread that mentions lagging while rooted -- it's been clearly defined as being Xposed causing it at the moment. Root on it's OWN should never cause any lagging issues like that.

Yes, everyone needs to quit asking that. And no there will most likely never be a way to root without tripping it, so just root.
I managed to modify a turbo system image file to include tethering on an unlimited data plan. Download it here. Use with Mofo root. This has been confirmed to work for several people, but others are reporting problems. Your mileage may vary.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF IT BRICKS YOUR PHONE, SETS YOUR HOUSE ON FIRE, EATS YOUR CAT ETC.
Thanks to @aFancyTickler for helping me determine what files to modify.

I'm pretty sure the way I did it if you install xposed installer it should read xposed as installed. You will not be able to install any modules due to write protection. Again no guarantees.
I'm going to be busy for the next few hours. If this is broken you'll have to wait a bit. For your information all I've done is modify the build.prop to include provisioning (for wifi tether) and add the gravitybox app to system apps. I also installed what I believe is the correct file for xposed framework to work. Even if it doesn't the phone should still boot. No promises. Good luck to anyone who chooses to install
Ekkoria said:
I managed to modify a turbo system image file to HOPEFULLY include tethering. This image also potentially has gravitybox baked in if I did everything right, but the wifi tether is much more likely to work because I actually know how that's supposed to work. NO GUARANTEES AS TO EITHER. I DO NOT YET HAVE ACCESS TO A ROOTED TURBO. If you want to test this sucker out, go here. Use with Mofo root.

I've gotten conflicting results when reading the forums about whether or not the G928T is rootable via Arter97's kernel. In how to guides I see evidence that it might be but on the Arter97 dev thread it says coming soon.. yet at the same time in update 3.6 it says "added support for T...".
Can anyone confirm if the Arter97 Kernel can be used to get root access on a G928T running 5.1.1?

the only issue I had during the process is this:

yes it is, i used to for a few months, but the tmo update was a pain to get onto the phone. Now i just run my phone unrooted and stock.
What this mod do?
If you try it out please let me know if it works. I heard some reports of a boot loop and I don't want to have to flash adb recovery, remove Magisk modules, reinstall stock recovery ?. This phone/android10 can be annoying...

Is that a must have mod? I mean, the 7T Pro McLaren is already pretty fast in my opinion. I don't know if I want to take the risk to install this mod honestly
Wouldn't say it's a must have and the phone is very fast on its own. Just I have experienced app closing when multitasking and just kinda want to try it out for some of the other features. But not important enough for me to risk a boot loop and go through the procedure of removing the mod. Could just use a kernel manager I guess.
