Samsung N910 - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I've got a Samsung N910 - no suffix, just N910 as shown under the battery. It has 2 SIM slots, the USB connector is at the top, it has no hard (clickable) Home button, just a soft button as part of the screen. I can't find it in any lists of the variants of the Samsung N910*. I need to replace the USB socket because it won't charge but I have no idea which part to buy. Can anyone help me to identify this phone / tablet. I've included some photos.
Thanks.

N910 is galaxy note 4 and that my friend is definitely not a note 4. It looks like it could be a note 4 battery but not the phone. If it's a Samsung just boot do download mode. Hold volume down and power and home. It will show you the model there

That's not a Note 4 bro

This chinese phone..so u have to open your phone in order too see cable connecter u have

simple hardware solution
presented on the video
search in youtube :samsung galaxy s hardware lock fix
if you have good hands you can make one yourself, if not
i can create one adapter for you.
this is a self made adaptor as you see in the video.
it highly reccomended that if you make one, to use only 301K resistor, and check that the connections on the usb plug DO NOT touch each other , it works but can damage your phone.

Gt-i9100 No Soft Buttons

I run a cell phone repair store and have recently run into some problems i'm hoping you guys can help me with.
I was bringing in the Samsung Galaxy s II completed front assembly parts for the last while and repairing broken screens.
Recently my supplier ran out of black galaxy S II fronts so I ordered white in place of them.
After installing the motherboard we realized there were no soft buttons, the home button clicks but the two touch buttons don't work.
The black fronts I have work but the white ones dont, is there a difference between the 2 phones? are they not identical and are the parts interchangeable?
Update:
I found a new supplier and ordered some Black assemblies and none of the soft buttons work on those either!! I don't understand!
Is there a compatibility issue here? I know the motherboard is good, is there a driver for the soft buttons or something? Some sort of firmware?
Thanks
When you click on them do you see the lights coming in ?
Maybe there's some connectors issue too
No there are no lights that come on, no response no lights. I just need some educated guesses, is this hardware or software?
Strange.
Worked on original board but didnt worked after the installation of the new motherboard + cover.
I think something broke during the process. I know that those wires are kinda cheaps so maybe there is a wrong contact somewhere or a short.
I will guess with a short in your wiring

I would have thought that too except these are the completed front assemblies, all you do is remove the motherboard and move it over, there is no wiring involved. Could it be anything else other than hardware.
*#8999*8378# = Test Menu
*#8999*667# = Debug Mode
One of these two code have the built in option to check key press. It will show an hexadecimal number of the key while pressing.
Can you try it and tell me if the soft keys are recognized within the test key menu ?
If yes ill suggest to flash firmware with odin to have a clean phone

Neither of these codes do anything, the lights are not even lit up. On my Galaxy S II when the phone boots the lights come on, it's almost like there is no power to the cable at all.
I know from previous experience with the SGS Vibrant that installing an old firmware edition and flashing the soft keys fix some problems, but at least they lit up even when they did not work. Could I possible have 7 fronts with bad buttons? What are the possibilities here?
is it on warranty?
id return to it

That is so not helpful as I have 6 with this problem and non of them are mine.
if it doesn't light up but has display, i have a feeling it's fked up already. get new screens.
There are no Gt-i9100 with no soft buttons..The screens are faulty and as they said u better return them for new ones...
I understand they should all have soft buttons, I was hoping this was a driver compatibility problem between the black and white fronts or something.
I guess this is a hardware issue, unless anyone has any other ideas?

[Q] Ideos X5 - Broken Power circuit

Hi Guys,
First of all, please excuse me for my English, I'll try to do my best.
While replacing the "touch digitalizer" of my Ideos X5 (ordered online on ebay), I made a really stupid mistake. I was following on of these HOW-Tos on Youtube but I think I should have tried all by myself.
When you remove the screen, there are two circuits that you should disconnect. A bigger one at the bottom, and a smaller at the top.
I properly disconnecter the bigger one, broke the small one that links the POWER button and the Rear LED to the rest of the phone. It is only once broken, that I saw how easy it was to unplug this tiny "cable".
I was wondering, or better said hoping if it was possible to buy this small circuit online?
I guess I could even take this circuit from a bricked/broken ideos, but can't find any on ebay.
Any suggestion?

No, I can't find any other way to boot the phone :crying:
It would be great to be able to start the phone without this circuit, even if I lose functions like camera, speaker, and others until I find a replacement.
Is there a way ?

Sorry for relying you late. Yes, there is an alternate way to boot the phone. Follow these steps:
1. Remove the battery cover
2. Plug in the charger.
3. Once you see the huawei logo on screen, remove the battery.
4. Wait till the phone boot till the home screen
5. Once you see the home screen, immediately put the battery again.
6. After system recognize the battery, safely remove the charger from phone and put the battery cover in place.
Once you do these exercise, the phone will work as usual except power button features.
Only problem there is no way to wake up the phone at sleep mode except you put on charger or somebody calls you
Well..somehow I assigned Volume Up button for all Power button feature. If you need, I will also guide you for that. But for now, just see if you are able to boot the phone with above steps.
Cheers :good:

[Q] Note 3 S-Pen not working !

I have the following Android Device:
Samsung Note 3
Model No: SM-N9005
Android version: 4.4.2
Build No. KOT49H.N9005XXUGNJ2
Security software version: MDF v1.0 Release 3
Issue: The S-Pen fails to get any input on the screen. I have tried & noticed the following:
1) S-Pen detachment notification works when taken out.
2) Air View options pops up when pen is detached.
3) Air view options work when pressed with finger but not with S-Pen.
4) S-Pen works fine with other Note 3 devices
5) Other S-Pen does not work on my device
6) Made sure the S-Pen features are enabled under the settings. Tried enable/disable as well.
7) Tried the following testing using *#0*#
a) TSP Hovering: Works fine with the finger & the S-Pen(as a trial)
b) Wacom Test: Doesnt detect the S-Pen input at all.
c) SPEN Hovering: Doesnt detect the S-Pen input at all.
8) Tried to tighten up the screw within the S-Pen as a trial although it works with other Note 3 devices, however, it didnt work !
9) Did a Reboot as well!
10) The phone does not have any magnetic case either! FYI
11) Tried changing the nib with the new ones as well!
Could anybody suggest a work around for this problem? I am not sure if a factory reset can solve the problem, has anybody got that working after a factory reset?
I have all my data synced with the my google account, so with a factory reset, would it be restored back once signed it back on the phone? Will the Apps get uninstalled as well?? Do you think it is possible to re-install the S-Pen SDK or something?
Please advise!
Thanks
Pierre

Try running The self diagnostic mode and test the phones screen.
self diagnostic mode - *#7353#
check if the spen is working on that.

If that's the case then your spen has gone bad. The way the spen works is there is a coil behind the screen and the spen draws power wireless from this coil.
This kinda makes it sure for the problem to be hardware problem not software.
One of two things could have gone bad.
1. The coil itself
2. Or your s pen is not able to take the wireless power..
If you have a friend who has the note 3 then try using his or her spen on your phone. .. That would be a good way to find out if your spen is bad or the coil thing.

Sorry if its the coil. Think that may be expensive.
Not sure how much the new coil thingy will cost you and not sure if its a part of the device screen...
If it is a part of the screen then they will probably replace the screen.
The sPen costs about 50 $ I think.
If you are under warranty and you have not rooted or done anything with the device Samsung should repair this problem without charging you but can never be sure..
Did you drop the device or something before getting this issue ??
