Like in title. S7 EDGE is not saving/breaking video files when recording app is set to save on SD card. After recording file thumbnail is just a black square with 0Kb size. It works fine for photos and when saving to internal memory. Memory card is not an issue here as 5 or 6 different gives same results.
This is not my device. One of my friends called me earlier today and asked for help since I work with phones but this is first time I heard about this issue.

Hi, recently for no particular reason, my Tytn 1 built-in camera stopped working when taking videos and saving onto the storage card. When i click rec, then stop, a black still picture is displayed (normally it would show the first frame of the captured video). Capturing video to internal memory card works fine. Taking still pictures and saving onto storage card also works fine.
Repeating the rec and stop-rec actions shows incrementing filename as though the videos are actually saved but checking in the \storage\my documents\my videos\ folder shows empty folder. All my previously captured videos were also gone.
Please help... has anyone faced this similar problem and how to fix it? Thanks.
so, I came across a problem with tcpmp a few weeks ago where the program wouldn't play video at a decent frame rate when installed to the phone storage.
which I find strange as I would have thought that running the program and reading the video from the same source would result in slow down its self!
so my question is, is the internal storage more slow than the memory card and if so could the storage of sms be moved to the sd card for speed improvements.
if this is the case then lots of other things could also be moved to the sd card!
your thoughts ?
hmmm
nobody interested in this?
I would hazard a guess that this is because the phone is running the player from the same source as the video is stored, so it can only access either the program, or the video file at any one time, not both together, so it accesses the system for a second, then the video, then the system, then the video,,, but if the video is on the card, it can access the system and the video at the same time.
that's the point
ill be more through
if the program is installed to the phone storage ie tcpmp installed to phone memory, then when you play a video it jogs! very low fps.
now if you installed the program to the memory card, which is where the video is stored also then its played a full fps
it is much much faster, so this either tells you the memory card can read files quicker than the phone storage or there is a problem with the phone storage talking to main memory.
that's my point! sms takes an age to load if you have more 20 message on the same thread. moving these messages to the storage card permanently may increase loading times of each thread.
try it your self with tcpmp you will get what I mean, the videos I'm using are dvd rips in avi format
I haven't been able to keep pictures or videos taken by camera since 10 days now.
I'll see the image or video but then immediately it'll turn into a picture of a broken link.
Then it'll also delete itself in a few hours.
I know my memory card isn't damaged because other stuff I download remains intact.
I've downloaded several mp3 files, pdf files & excel documents.
They're all there.
Only camera items aren't working.
Updates:
Switched off mobile, pulled out sd card. Didn't resolve the issue.
Downloaded several jpg images from dropbox & the internet. Still there.
Only images & videos taken by the banners app are affected.

Update:
Switched saved location from memory card to phone.
Worked fine. Images saving.
Switched back to memory card. Photos getting corrupted then deleting themselves.
But other files are saving to the card without issue.
Try backing up your sd card to pc and then format the and card on the phone settings.
Hi,
I have 16GB memory card. I have used it previously on my Galaxy s3 and now using it on Galaxy s4 i9505.
In the Gallery, i can not see pictures from the memory card and when I changed the location of taking new pictures To Memory Card, it did show pictures for few weeks but then all of a sudden it doesn't show any picture from the memory card in Gallery. However, when i use File Manager, the pictures are really present in the memory card.
What can i do to solve this problem?
1 Make sure there is no .nomedia file in your pics folder
2 make sure that you are viewing all the pictures from galary and not of one particular album.
3 try a different gallery like quicpic
A screenshot of your gallery will help us understand the problem better

Go into App Manager and clear the data for Media Storage. Reboot.

I record video and save directly to SD card (because my phone memory is exhausted). After filming is finished, I want to reopen it to see it but in the photo folder I don't see the video just recorded. In the memory card, I saw the video I just returned in the form of the file FSCKxxxx.REC. I clicked but my phone said it could not be opened or there was no software to open. I tried connecting the SD memory card to the computer but I couldn't open it either. I was really sad because I really liked those videos, so I was looking forward to someone showing me how to recover those video files. I remember during the recording, the phone automatically powered off once
