Does anyone have any keyboard shortcuts they find useful on the Yoga Book? I use 'Esc' as a back button all the time.
Its actually pretty hard to know what keyboard shortcuts are supported as Lenovo does not give a list.
Standard copy + paste works - that's pretty all I use except for the escape key. I also use the hardware volume key more often than the volume keys on the keyboard.
Shift+Space = change keyboard language
Ctrl+Space = does also change some language, but I am not shure what exact does change
Shift+Enter = word preview on/off
Alt+Tab = Switch app
strg+a = select whole text
strg+shift = change input method
strg+down = android status bar
alt+left and alt+right = backward and forward in Chrome
I was surprised to see alt+tab works and alt+arrows will go forward or back in Chrome.
I'm liking it so far
If you connect the bluetooth keyboard(I use the filco ) ,you can use the windows button, to open the auxiliary app you chose

I have just downloaded GFDOOM for my Wizard and it runs great. However the key layout is just not working for me. I have managed to find an ASCII sheet for virtual keyboards that lets me assign the keyboard keys to the functions that I would like however I would also like to give it a try with out using the keyboard as the key spacing is not too suited to gaming. I would like to assign the voice and camera keys to left and right strafe and the IE key to fire. The problem is that I dont know the key code for those keys.
An example of the keys:
Calendar = A
Contacts = B
Messages = C
IE = ??? (its not D)
The same goes for voice and camera, I dont know the key for those buttons. If someone knows the answer or knows if they have an ASCII character code, I would appreciate the help ending this headache.
I have only had a PPC for about two weeks now so Im very new at all of this. Please be gentle. I have attached GameFreaks readme for the key assignment along with the ASCII code list I found below, maybe you can make more out of it then I can.
Hi All,
I've looked around and I find that a lot of PCM keyboard layouts focus too much on the skin and not enough on the layout.
I created the following layout and I find that for my own usage, it works really well. I'm uploading it here so that others can use it and modify it to their liking.
The main benefits of my layout over the default english layout are:
Main Layout:
1) second row shifted over to better match real keyboard layout
2) ".com" button for easy web shortcuts
3) 123#? button has shortcuts for popular used punctuation (. , are easiest to access)
4) enter key has the cut/copy/paste/opt shortcut
Secondary Layout:
4) Number keys are double width and moved to left of screen (easier for right handers)
5) layout focused on calculator/excel input. so * / + - = . are all easily accessible
6) All bracket/parenthesis is accessible in the () shortcut key
7) All other symbol keys are accessible in the sym shortcut key
8) holding down 0 will give you a space
9) enter/backspace/123#? all remain in same location (i didn't like how backspace was on left of layout
This layout should work fine on any of the default skins.
I hope you guys like it!
EDIT: INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS
Looks like some of you are more inexperienced than I thought.
1) download the mr_yellow.layout.txt. remove the .txt extension and place it in your /program files/pcmkeyboard/ directory on your device
2) go to your input settings and select the options for pcm keyboard
3) "mr_yellow" should show up in the layout drop down box.
4) select and enjoy.
Just what the doctor ordered..thank you.
I was wondering why we hadnt seen anything like this released before. Functional as all hell.
How do I get this to work? Where do I place the text file?
I added install instructions. It's a pretty simple install. I had to rename the layout to .txt so that I could upload it.
Hi
Is it possible to make longpressing a character on the keyboard use a character of my choice? rather than bringing up a menu where I have to click on the screen to choose character?
Example:
I want to use the character Å (A with a ring over it, its in the norwegian alphabet)
I longpress A, and that gives me a menu on the screen with Â, Ã, Ä and Å, and I have to click one of those!
Instead I want to set my own characters like this:
Longpress A = Å (A-ring)
Longpress E = Æ (AE)
Longpress O = Ø (O-line)
I dont know if this exists or even if it is possible, but it would be a great timesaver!
This would indeed be very useful. Request seconded.
Third
Just as a tip for my fellow norwegians, since aa (a with ring above) is the key that is most to use, I usually just copy that letter and just paste it when I need it later, and long press o to got oe and then press enter, and for ae I just long press a and use the scroll wheel to move one field down and then press enter.
Not sure if this works for you, but I manage just fine with this approach. The only thing that annoys me is the lack of support for foreign keys in the android browser.
Various ports and emulators i've tried to run on my Universal assume that you have function keys. Is there an app to intercept the keyboard and map these? The ability to have Win+1 = F1 ... Win + 0 = F10 (with Win + "=" as F12 and Win + Tab = Esc too) would be great!?
(Just to be clear, full screen apps so no on screen keyboard)
that would be really great!!

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
PQz should be able to do that http://www.nicque.com/PQz/DOC/index_e.htm
I've tried pzQII but have no idea how it works! The first problem i have is picking a CTRL key, because all the keys seem to do something, e.g. OK, the second is getting them mapped. Using the Code screen i think i managed to make OK+Tab map to Escape but there's no option in the list for F1...F12, so i tried putting hex codes in directly but that didnt work. might be the wrong hex codes.
I am using this mod http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129404 which is really nice, but I find the samsung keyboard to be pretty basic.
so I am looking for a different keyboard layout which
- looks a bit like this one http://s7.directupload.net/file/d/2290/qqrhg4as_png.htm (has for example the comma , button on the main screen and also a separate button for smilies on the main screen)
- works in combination with the word / letter suggestion setting which should appear as soon as you begin to type (even though its activated in settings, this function doesnt seem to work with the samsung keyboard setting of this rom(/phone?))
- can be set to QWERTZ layout.
any ideas?
