Well let me share with you some of my experience with the C567B320 so far:
The new graphical user interface GUI referred to as Emotion UI or EMUI 5.0 is so much closer to pure stock android 7.0 UI with sleek design and light tints plus a new gesture (split windows) feature to honor 8 introduced to larger sized huwaei phones, namely Mate serie as well as now you have the choice to select the no drawer launcher or a launcher with an app drawer.
Now the experience :
Very light and snappy, but since its a beta release i found some minor bugs and hopefully will get fixed on the next beta or final release,
Aside from the graphical bug describe in attached screenshot where the restore default settings button covers the last line in Accessibility settings found under advaced settings.

I just noticed that the Kernel version date is:
Tue Nov 22 12:37:41 CST 2016
Android Security patch level:
November 1, 2016
The battery juice gave me 6:34 hrs. On normal facebook, youtube, browsing, playstore downloads and slight gaming (Army of Heroes) usage and still i had like 20% of juice left.
I think that the major fix over B317 is the battery behavior through newly modified kernel (some members described a bad battery drain overnight on B316/ B317) i confirm, it is not here anymore at least of what I've experienced so far.
Some apps doesn't work properly with Android N,
Screen off/ Screen lock apps doesn't quite work with the fingerprint unlocking but there are some experimental workarounds found in the settings of some of those apps, not as quite as good with Android M but still works.
Notifications icons seemed fine to me (some members complained about notifications icons placement)
I mean for me it's classified as a daily driver if those bugs are fixed, unless anyone can prove the opposite by describing bugs.

That's not the point, i just wanted to share my experience with EMUI 5.0/ Android N Beta version B320 as many of Beta testers are still in B316/ B317 and complaining of battery drain issue.

Could you maybe add some more screenshots?
I am also interested about the notification icons. I saw a video on youtube about EMUI 5, and it seemed like there now is only a counter how many notifications there are right now, and not the actual icons of the apps.
Edit: Just took a second look at your screenshots, seems like there is still the option to show the notification icons as usual, right?
can you post some screenshot about your software and hardware usage please with this sot
thx

Yes, most if not all of the available screen off (turn off) apps does turn off screen but doesn't allow you to unlock with fingerprint sensor unless you turn on a workaround option found in only few apps of them otherwise it will turn on screen without unlocking and a message will appear saying (Device locked by administration)
The drawback of the workaround to make them work with fingerprint sensor is that the phone screen will turn off after few seconds.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
@nitrowarez Hmm I see, but what is the point in using apps that turn off the screen? I mean, you can set the screen off timeout in the system settings.
I got the 320 OTA pushed out to me last night. Notification icons are back how they were in MM. I didn't quantify the battery life difference, but it seems like it's really good again.

To enforce turning off screen whenever you want..!!!
Btw, this is a beta version where users should use the phone in every aspect to discover bugs an repot them back to OEM to get them fixed, i hope you got my point of view.

Yes to the stock notifications, no with the pattern unlock with fingerprint.
Any ideas on when EMUI 5.0 will be released?

I have been using my grand for more then a year now, it is the only cellphone I used during this period or you can say primary phone or daily driver and here is my experience-
(Rooted,Stock Rom 4.2.2)
Hardware side-
The side bezel is still holding that silver coating except from the part where the charging cable is plugged and some places near the back cover.
I would say that it fine.(Have never dropped the phone and hope to keep it that way)
Screen -
The screen is well protected by this scratch less screen guard (using it for more then 4 months) which gives a little sparkling effect which I find little annoying but is ok as I have used my cell without flipcover for like more then 1 month and still scratches can't be seen on the screen (Unless one looks closely for them).
The screen is quite big for my hands and after using this phone I feel that a 4.7 inch would be more suitable to me, also I feel that they have increased the screen size by expanding the breadth more then it should have been which make it a little uncomfortable to hold and gives it a cheap look(just my view).
Sim-
I have had 2 sims on my phone but never really used the second one except for a month or so, in my experience the phone becomes quite laggy when both sims are kept active and more so when you use your second sim for data and first for calls.
Switching between the sims gave lag of like 2 seconds and sometimes even more.
Hang-
When the remaining internal memory gets lower then 1gb the phone becomes real slow and near 700 mb or less left it hangs for like once or twice a day(in which case i had to reboot the phone by long pressing the power button)
I have to delete all useless apps(mostly games) as I do not like link2sd, gives mount script error on reboot and have got my nexus 7 for gaming and stuff and have put all my music(20 gb plus) amd titanium backup on my 64gb external card.
When the free internal memory is like 1.2gb or more the phone works fine.
Battery-
I use Greenify to stop apps that are less important from running in the background and consuming the battery.
I have ran this phone from 100% to 1% for 42 hours during which I made like 30min of phone calls and near to no use of internet(whenever used it was on my wifi) and rest of the time it was idle, the network was WCDMA ONLY on my BSNL sim, that was the highest I analyzed, maybe it can do better but I don't bother putting it to test.
Issues-
(Other then those mentioned above)
When continuously using the Samsung Keyboard for more then 5 minutes I experienced massive delay in keyboard, almost to the extent where I had to exit the app and restart, this was not one time thing as it went on to happen consecutively 3 more times.
(I was using Google Keep)
In also lags a little bit in general usage.
While using any app if I long press the home button most of the time the app I was last using is not present in the recent apps list, this is quite prominent and is noticed on a daily basis.
Now when I go to the home screen then go back to the recent apps the last app is still not in the recent apps section.
4.2.2 update kinda destroyed some stuff which was pretty fine in 4.1.2 like the switching from dual sim thing and also the internal memory bug. I'd recommended switching to one of these KitKat ROMs out there.
Sent from my GT-I9082 using Tapatalk
I won't mind switching to a KitKat ROM if they implement dual Sim functionality with considerable perfection, most probably by then I might as well have switched to some other cellphone.
I agree 4.1.2 felt more stable, they also removed the option to share music directly from the default player, I miss that one some times.

4.2.2 gave more functionality, like the lock screen widgets on left and app drawer or whatever you say on right, transparent notification bar, stock gallery saw a little change in the interface and many more things, like the light effect to unlock and so on.
Though most usefull one I feel was the vibration effect i.e. the phone vibrates when a call is picked up on the other side, saves a few seconds of distraction or a little less radiation to your head if you want to talk scientifically, earlier I achieved this feature by using an xposed module.
Regarding problems in 4.2.2 I have written all of them in the OP, most noticeable is the recent apps not showing up and that keyboard lag.
If you want to revert back to 4.1.1 then have a look at -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364293
Personally I think that if single Sim is not a problem for you then you can try cyanogen mod builds, I haven't tried it myself as I think that it ruins the whole point of having a dual Sim phone but it is definitely smoother and faster then stock.

Just stop using the stock gallery app, I use quick pic, it is fast and perfect, though if you still wanna use the stock gallery then from time to time you have to go to
Application manager - All - Choose Gallery and then choose clear data.
It shows 95gb or more data, known bug.

That's an inbuilt thing, I don't think you can change that, regarding warranty I don't think anyone uses it, maybe 1 in a thousand have to, you are upgrading firmwares yourself what is the need of warranty.
Only check for a week or so that there is no manufacturing defect and then just root and experience the power of android.
Also you can unroot your cell.

Is it me or camera IQ seems better in 4.4.4? I've taken some pictures of trees from far away and there seems to be some more detail resolved than usual, less "painting" effect.. or it could be me. What are your impressions with the update on this regard?

the only way to find out is to flash a stock based rom (tweaky rom which is still on 4.4.2) and take a picture there than restore to a 4.4.4 backup and see if there is any difference
See for yourselves, this looks quite detailed to me. These are as taken, no photoshopping to make them look better. At least you can make out the leaves, you couldn't do that before. That other picture was a macro attempt, and the focused part comes out quite clear.
To me, this is better than on 4.4.2, I had taken pictures like these before of the same things (sadly I've deleted them so we can't compare) and from memory this is better. Check it out for yourselves on your usual shooting subjects if you see improvements.
edit: Please try to keep a steady hand. If there's something this phone hates, it's shaky hands... even the slightest shake will screw up your pictures.
Some of the changelog is from things in 4.4.3 which non 4g/lte users won't get as they update straight to 4.4.4
For instance the setting to hide carrier in status bar is in 4.4.3
Edit: also i can disable those motorola apps on 4.4.3

I've observed some Miracast / DNLA fixes in 4.4.3 (and therefore 4.4.4.)
This feature now works correctly with Android 4.4.3. However, you still need to enable the 'Cast screen' settings menu by adding the following line (if not already present) to /system/build.prop:
persist.debug.wfd.enable=1
Additionally, 4.4.3 improves compatibility with Allcast and BubbleUPnP, along with other DNLA apps that did not operate correctly in 4.4.2.

Can anyone compare the battery stamina with the new stock 4.4.4 and the old 4.4.2 ?
Thank's
To me the quality seems poor like before.
Instead, it seems to me that the camera shots photos faster in every mode (single shot, HDR, sequence, etc.). Please check this and let me know.
Battery seems as good as before to me.
Been using 4.4.4 since last night so i can't say nothing about battery backup yet. Phone is smooth and i can't see more lag than before.
Idle CPU usage seems to be bit higher than 4.4.2 where it was 0-3%, now i see 5% and 15% pikes all the time.

Odd, my battery is the same with location off, but I usually use device only and in 4.4.2 it didn't drain the battery, but now it does, a lot, most apps now show high battery use, which is odd, so I disabled it.
Wi-Fi or mobile data on? Or none? Check the time without signal, when I first updated I had a 5 hour period showing I had 100% no signal (ironically, I was using Mobile data 50% of that time, and no second sim in)

I was quite disappointed by the update and I am thinking about rolling back on Kitkat. Those are my main concerns with Lollipop, feel free to share yours or your solutions/workarounds. So do not install Lollipop if:
You care about homescreen widgets, indeed in Lollipop you can have notifications on the homescreen but it is all or nothing. You can't just have whatsapp or email for example. If you select no notifications, there is not even an icon in the status bar.
You want to use Xposed or Xprivacy. Indeed xposed is buggy and xprivacy does not work well (if you can install it without bootloops, which I couldn't)
You would like an efficient app switcher, this kind of drawer in Lollipop just complicate things, do not provide a good overview but that's my point of view. In addition it does not come with the close all button on every customizations
You don't want a blue notification bar which looks too bright in apps
You care about battery life. Indeed it seems that Lollipop is buggy and has some memory leaks which slow down the system and make it use more CPU I was wrong about this one, while there are memory leaks they do not seem to affect battery life significantly
If you want to be able to switch on silent/airplane mode from the power off menu
if you want to keep ‘hi-res audio via usb’ ... as its gone in Lollipop. | reported by Scoobidu
if you liked the ability to go to relevant settings (wifi for example) by a long tap (on the wifi icon) in the control centerstill possible if you tap the name and not the icon, my bad

I approve everything that you said, my suggestion for everybody is to update to lollipop only when they'll make a 5.1 update that solves the cpu and memory problem.

Yes Xposed is the biggest loss, you can install the alpha version of Xposed, maybe it will work I am not sure why it caused a bootloop for me (might also be older modules) the only catch is that you might have to reflash /system through the recovery (step 40 in http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343) in case of bootloop but you don't loose your data/apps.

I have already rolled back to kitkat.. I prefer the UI and everything i need is compatible and working how it should ..
I have to say I didnt enjoy my experience with lollipop and can't see myself attempting the update again..
There were just no benefits for me other than it felt a tiny bit more snappier.
Poor/rushed effort from Sony in my eyes, they could of done alot better.

Even I've rolled back to KitKat.. I love the lollipop animation and the fact that is quicker, but not having the possibility to have more quicksetting (using Serajr Xposed App) and using many GB setting is a a enormous loss for me (and I hate the new silent mode on lollipop!) .. If CM didn't have the photo problem because of the loss of the algorithm, I would installed immediately . For now I'll stay on KitKat, waiting for having back the xposed modules at full potential. Just my thoughts and experience anyway!

Notifications are a mess on Lollipop, either you have your lock screen full of notifications or nothing. You can just have icons in the status bar as on KitKat. As for the the silent mode of Lollipop, regular modes are also available if you put it on "normal ringer" and you click the speaker it will go on vibration instead. That said the power off menu is crappy too, no possiblity to put on silent, no possbility to put on flight mode.

You can still silent mode by pressing the volume button.
The themer a lil useless for me now, not sure if its the same for you guys but i theming changes nothing much other than minor colors, the nav bar seems to be unable to theme.
Agreed that the app switcher is not as efficient.
Anyways if you feel the animations a lil not your taste what i did was to set it to 0.5 in developer option. =)
Yes, you can change using the volume button but then you have to unlock the phone, press volume, press silent. Before you just pressed power, silent. Much better in a meeting were you forgot to silence it.
I was wrong, you can silence it while locked.
Love the device but I can't seem to find a way to disable heads up notifications! The system UI tuner cannot be activated by holding the gear icon on the T-Mobile V20. Any help ?

I'm looking for the same answer, I'd prefer a bit more granular control of my notifications as the options available aren't enough. All I'd want to do is hide the "peek" option.
Seems like you have to go to the app specifically and tap notification from there you can hide them for that app.

How did you turn on battery percent?
In the battery section in settings there's a toggle
Sent from my LG-H918 using Tapatalk
None of these settings are just for peek, you'd need access to the System UI Tuner for a slightly more granular adjustment. I would still want to be notified with a sound/vibration, I'd just want to hide peek which gets in the way when I'm doing other things on the phone.

Bumping because I am looking for the capability to do the same thing. For some reason they (ATT and/or LG) have blocked the System UI tuner which allows for blocking peeking notifications while keeping the sound and vibrations. Android not having a simple option to globally disable peeking is greatly annoying.
If there is no way to enable the System UI tuner is there another way to disable peeking notifications on the LG V20 while still allowing vibration/noise? Silent notifications are almost as useless as peeking/heads up notifications.
LG has. There has never to my knowledge has there been a LG device that has had it since it was introduced.

System UI Tuner is a special option, that has to be enabled (akin to Developer Options), added to Android M and above so barely any phones have it. Some carriers and manufacturers have disabled it on those that do, such as the V20.
Regardless of the System UI tuner there should be some other way on the LG V20 to disable peeking per app or globally. We are just trying to find a way on the LG V20 without also having to silence sound/vibration. There also does not seem to be an app to take care of the issue since those like HeadsOff are no longer compatible.

All you are able to do is what was linked above in the screenshot.
-Block (No notifications)
-Show silently (no sound, vibrate, or peek)
-Lock screen notifications (all, sensitive, none)
-Priority (yes/no)

add me to the list
this is an unbelievable situation, its driving me crazy.. i did lots of experiments and researches, still no solution, appearantly its an app based and not a general thing, i dont know why, apps and Andriod N.. Whatsapp in my case will be the exmaple
My conclusion is based on the below tests and readings:
- All my whatsapp settings are set to vibrate and/or sound, but no pop up
- Am using Novo launcher, so i thought the launcher is the problem, however, tried the default one, but still pops up
- surprisingly, Textra app, Telegram app, some other calendar apps, doesn't show a pop up peek if u disabled it from the app itself. keeping the sound and vibrate on as wanted.
- I sent to whatsapp an email, but the email they replied with was useless and didnt address the problem itself
- i tried few apps at the play store, but all of them didnt work, as non is built for Andriod N
- the only way is what mentioned in this thread, where you will block the notification alert and show it silently, and thats not what we want.
- Yes the UI Tuner is not activated and cant be activated in this device
The End result, its a problem in these specific apps with Andriod N, and its the problem from LG not activating the UI Tuner, if only there is a way to communicate with LG and force them to solve this problem.
Glad to hear others thoughts..
Dear all,
I can confirm that i was able to block the headsup using adb commands. Refer and search through the forums here at xda, few threads explained it.. Easy in 30 min done
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0
You're welcome.
You should still get the ticker-like notification in the second screen.
thanks it works

Yes am still getting the ticker and thats a very useful feature in LGv20, i dont mind that as long as the headsup is disabled.
Ok now how do we get the notification to show longer in the second screen? Most my apps time out in about 2 seconds with the exception of the stock messaging app, and bluemail (both show for approx 5 seconds)...

Hi All,
A Beta Version of EMUI8.0 has been pushed via OTA for those who applied through Google form and FUT tool.
Please kindly post all your feedback and suggestions here in this thread. :fingers-crossed:
You can also share your feedback by joining project through Beta app.
Here is the beta tool instruction: https://club.hihonor.com/in/announcements.205/beta-tool-instruction.133939
Thank you all for your support and your patience as always. Please make sure to know that the beta software is sometimes not as stable as our official one is. If you install the update, you accept the potential risks and rules.
We may not be able to respond to you every moment, but please keep in mind that we hear your problems and take note for your future needs seriously.
Feel free to discuss the EMUI 8.0 with other 7x users in our discord channel here.
The Beta is great! I haven't faced any significant issue yet, the system is smooth and the new theme is nice too. I also appreciated the fact that the system now takes 4gbs less space. The only issue I'm facing is a slight decrease in battery performance, but I'm pretty certain it can be solved with a full wipe.
I have had this beta for a week now and I have had zero issues.

It won't change anything, but I really am tired of reading this statement phrased this way:
--> A Beta Version of EMUI8.0 has been pushed via OTA for those who applied through Google form and FUT tool.
I applied through the Google form, as did others, who are NOT GETTING IT, so to state it this way is just flat out misrepresenting what they are actually doing. I tried reaching out, can not get added in, they say they had limited spots, and yet they keep touting it publicly as though they let in anyone who applied. I don't like it when facts are so badly misrepresented.
The beta seems good but there are some bugs :
Widget meteo on nova caused system crash
Notification media button is some time bugged on lock screen
Possible to get a toggle to sync notifications like gmail etc?
Review after using EMUI 8.0 beta for 9 days
No major issues or force closes till now .
It's a more stable build than the face unlock update which totally messed up my device .That update is one of the reason for me to enroll for beta. Now I'm really happy that I did it
Only thing I felt is that battery performance got reduced a lot compared to the EMUI 5.1.( Some say a hard reset will fix that but I don't wanna do that till a stable build )
Another feature I feel lacking is option to allow apps to run even after screen lock .I need apps like PushBullet to work in background after the Screenlock but I couldn't do that in EMUI 8.0.I can't find the Volte for idea which was introduced along with face lock update.
The features of EMUI 8.0 I like most are
App Shortcuts
New Launcher
Google feed instead of Hiboard
Immersivemode ( Option to hide navigation bar)
Autofill,
New Messages Apps
New LinkedIn Sync In Contacts App
Settings,
New Lock Screen Theme Engine ,
Ride Mode
New Navigation Dock looks really Cool
.
Stock Oreo Vs EMUI 8.0 Oreo
EMUI 8.0 doesn't change much from EMUI 5.1 in terms of UI.It's almost same except for the settings app but I'm okay with that as the system smoothness and performance increased in a great deal.A few differences between stock and emui Oreo are
Unlike the stock Android the quick settings background didn't change( though we have the freedom to change it whatever color we like in EMUI)
Number of quick settings in single coloumn didn't reduce ( I actually like that they didn't change)
No new Dailer App( I expected one and disappointed about this )
Bugs I encountered :
I only had a soft reset once, when I tried to play a x265 1080p video of size 11GB in Plex App which I assumed a bit heavy for decoding and reported it .Otherthan that no issues
Overall If you ask me, EMUI 8.0 is awesome there is no reason to still call it a beta build.Even stable builds will have small bugs like this beta build
I don't think I have some of the features Trixter has listed.
Sent from my BND-L24 using XDA Labs
I really liked when the battery icon at the top in the notification bar turned green when charging like in previous Android versions. I also really like the lightning icon that shows up inside the battery icon when charging when the percentage is next to the battery. I suggest combining the two. Have the battery icon turn green like before and have the lightning icon when charging.
In the short amount of time I've had emui 8, this is all all I could find for now.
Phone is running really smooth. I would like to see the location option for smart unlock. Currently only Bluetooth but that is not a beta thing.
Overall, no issues on my end and phone is running much better.
Just switched themes which changed the font, can't seem to get font to change now since getting the beta.
Sent from my BND-L24 using XDA Labs
Nevermind, I'm an idiot.
Phone seems smoother, better performance navigating around. The swipe left and right problem seems to be solved.
In the Files app, Safe will not accept my fingerprint, password, or password reset answers to secret questions. So I can't access my Safe. Any suggestions?
Bug caught in an hour.
Its been running great actually after a full wipe. Faster than before, the face recognition is better, the voice recognition is faster.
One bug that I found with the pre-installed Swiftkey was when you're glide-typing(or swipe writing, idk), these trails which should appear on the keyboard, don't show up there if the navigation bar is hidden. They show up way above the keyboard in the writing area.
Since this is my first post, I was not allowed to attach a link or an image.
This is the only bug I was able to find as it was today that I received the beta. Otherwise, everything else is great on this update.
Bluetooth in the car is only displaying the name of my phone...not the artist, song, and album. Skip track buttons on car's steering wheel won't skip songs. This happens both in Pocket Casts and Emby Android apps. Before the beta, Bluetooth audio displayed and controlled fine.

And today it's back to normal.
Files > Safe still doesn't work even after a wipe and fresh install. Can't even set up Safe. Keeps asking to create a password and choose new secret questions/answers. Upon entering, just continues this loop. Does anyone's Safe work after the beta?
Still Haven't Received The Beta Update
I still have not received the update. I signed up on the Google Form and got an email saying that the update was to be rolled out soon (this was around March 15th). I have contacted the Honor USA Twitter and Facebook pages (and got no helpful reply). I also emailed Honor Support and I'm awaiting another reply, but they initially told me to just wait. What is going on with this??
Beta Is Great, With Some Minor Faults
This is going to sound like I really hate the update but it is good and very very stable even for a Beta.
Good:
1. I had an issue with 5.1 were my Accessibility settings would randomly disable themselves for no explicable reason making my password manager useless, It's fixed which is nice!
2. ROM size has shrunk making for space for other stuff
3. The new default blue/teal is IMO better than the old blue
4. Floating dock is nice(not sure if it was available in 5.1 but a nice feature non the less)
Now for the bad which is a little longer of a list
Bad:
1. YouTube casting now randomly disconnects from my chromecast even after I allowed youtube full access to run in the background
2. The "Simplified" settings menu is a lie and things feel more jumbled now than ever, like mobile data and mobile network still being different menus
3. Not sure why but my banking app took forever(5+ minutes) to load the first time after the update
4. Only one app crashed and that was IFunny twice
5. My VPN randomly disconnected multiple times
6. Only battery saver option in QS is ultra mode
7. The battery icon still cannot be completely remove(to use apps like Energy Bar)
8. Floating dock doesn't always go home the first long press
9. Some games I play have rendering issues
10. Notification UI and QS UI don't merge nicely(they just kind of cut off into each other)
11. Bluetooth would randomly disconnect when the screen powered off and require a reconnect of the device to work
12. This is a general UI complaint, why the hell are some options only available the phone manager app. It took me 20 minutes to find where the blacklist for phone numbers was. It honestly makes no sense why "Blocked" is in phone manager. Why not in the mobile data or mobile network settings tab or even in the dialer app. IMO all of the UI improvements of Oreo are lost in this update, most of EMUI is exactly the same. This feels more like Android 8 with EMUI 5.2 over it.
Like I said I really enjoyed using the update and some things were genuinely better but it's a made lackluster by the EMUI on top of it.
I have to hand it to Huawei/Honor for getting Treble working, I'm jumping ship to RR-OS right after I'm finished this post!:good:
I live i Italy and have the BND-L21, received Oreo, AR Lenses but not Face Unlock.
I know this is not place for Honor 8 lite
But want to say that in oreo
My internal storage bacomes full with nothing
I have also did factory reset but not working
I think this is because of oreo
