Kill all open/active apps, put it on charge, then time how long it takes to recover one percent, (then another percent, etc) for 3-5% of battery life and we might be able to see if there's an obvious issue. also, are you using phone's included USB cable/charger, or something else?
Well i can say that with the screen on, it charges slowly but is fast with the screen off. Correct me of I'm wrong but I guess this is by design?

I would think any phone that charges with the screen off and being completely inactive (but switched on, whilst charging) is going to charge a lot faster than when the screen is on and you are using the UI.

Hi im new to the forum. I have a fairly new H818p (dual sim) and recently used the LGUP method to install 20c russian kdz.
My problem is that now my phone seems to have trouble connecting to mobile data. it doesnt show H+ or LTE on the bar and I've been having to rely on wi-fi. What can I do to fix this?
hi
anyone received an update 02-25-15 on h818p? is it 6.0? Can't see what update is on my phone because im rooted. Thanks

A thread for official discussions of the moto g turbo edition till a new device forum is created !
Hi guys just created a new thread to discuss all moto g turbo edition related discussion and q&a.
Also has anyone been able to register the moto g turbo edition on motorola website ?
Thanks for this thread! I'm one of the early adopters of the device; ordered on launch day. Really hope the Mods take notice and create a separate forum for us.

The problems with this is the device is extremely limited. I believe they've only shipped devices to Mexico and India for the moment. So until us western guys get our hands on a turbo, I'm afraid you're waiting for india/mexico developers. Once one of us out here gets a hand on one you can be sure there will be more development. (More people with the phone)
I'm not saying that development from India, Mexico, wherever is bad. (At all, a lot of amazimg stuff is purely from those regions.) I'm just saying right now only about 1/4 of the world is going to see that turbo so until it's widely released who knows.

But still having an option is good motorola should have provided one :silly:

That's strange. Both Moto G3 and Moto X Play do have a magnetometer.
Now in the Moto G Turbo which is placed in between those devices Motorola suddenly decides to scrap the magnetometer? Wtf.

Well it's been a while since I have been checking for updates and all. I am still on the stock rooted rom for my Moto X Pure
Running:
5.1.1
Build LPH23.116-18
I just switched over to my LG G3 for a few days and plan on doing some updates to this Moto X.
Do you suggest any Custom ROMS or are you letting the phone update and staying stock rooted.
Stock 5.1.1 is still the smoothest with the best battery life, and very stable. I can't stand MM, because it can't scroll smooth enough for me. It's like scrolling through mud or sand. Custom ROMS are getting buggier by the day. But if you can live without flashlight and video recording, I think it was the 1/15 build of AICP is pretty decent.
Thanks for the info. I will just leave the Moto as is then.
I think I will stick with my LG G3 for a few. There is alot of things that I missed that is did and the Moto does not.

I have a different opinion, I stayed stock MM for a long time and recently flashed a Rom and have been very happy with it. the 01/30 build of the Bliss rom is very stable and smooth. The Camera video works as does the flashlight. Battery seems the same to me. I get bored with stock so I'm liking messing with all the features the rom gives you.
I may try out the Bliss rom then. Nothing to loose I can always TWRP my Original ROM back when ever. I am not using the Moto X right now anyway so let the flashing go. Hell I'm back using my LG G3 and pondering on selling the Moto X Pure. So much I missed with the G3.
If you backup if Lollipop, and you upgrade to the MM bootloader -you can't go back, without the restore to stock tool.

I have a stock Moto G4 Plus. Today, I got the notification that Nougat update is available. I haven't updated it yet, as I read lots of problem with the Nougat on the web, things like reduce battery life, sluggish performance, lower volume sound etc... and etc...
What's your experience, if you already updated? I'd appreciate any inputs.
Should I or shouldn't I update? I don't care too much about the new Nougat functionalities.
The battery life of my G4 Plus is great with the current Marshmallow (4-5 hours SOT at the minimum) and it's smooth and fast for what I use it for.
Thank you very much in advance.

It seems to work just fine for the average user, if you haven't made any modifications to your device, I 100% recommend you upgrade.
Will it kill my ability to use Verizon mobile hotspot with grandfathered unlimited data?

Thank you! Appreciate the reply. No, I didn't modify mine. I decided to keep at least one phone completely stock and unrooted for reliability reason
I have the G4 Plus with stock Marshmallow for a while now and it never hung, crashed, slowed. If I run it all the way to 5% battery, I got at least 5-6 hours SOT.
...
Currently my g4 doesn't check for tethering subscription with Verizon Grandfathered UDP. Has anyone with Verizon UDP applied 7 update?
....
SoNic67 said:
That's not how it works. The G4 has no clue what PLAN do you have with your provider... it's up to your provider to signal that entitlement to the G4. The only way to get around that is with rooting.
Anyway, I think nobody has that plan anymore. Especially when the new ones can be cheaper.

You don't have a Grandfathered UDP, so I'm really not interested in anything you say. My question was not directed at you.
Non rooted stock, never unlocked this device. I flip flop using Tmobile and Verizon MVNO Total Wireless. Where I work there is alot of Verizon Repeaters and getting signal into the building is pretty hard for anyone unless your on Verizon. I have issue with cellular signal showing connection after it had been disconnected from the tower, random wireless disconnects, had a bootloop on reboot, screen blackout no button control, the device seems to work very good overall with this build. There are some bugs that need to be addressed, and Google has addressed some in 7.1.1 Hope that helps anyone.
Hey guys, before you start polluting this thread with "this update made my phone overheats to hell" or "this phone is super laggy plzzz fixxx", do a factory reset after the update. Trust me, 99% of the time it'll fix any issues you have.

While your response to @SoNic67 seems a bit harsh, he's since edited his posts so I don't know if you were being righteous or not.
FWIW, I DO have a grandfathered UDP with Verizon, and regularly use androids' native portable WiFi hotspot to consume LOTS of bandwidth. Sonic67 had a point in that Verizon hasn't released the ROMs for the g4 plus - there's no vzw software on the phone that cares or checks to see if you're authorized by vzw to use your data however you see fit. He was wrong by implying that a carrier must "signal" its authorization for you to share your data connection with other devices - it doesn't work that way either. My advice: go ahead and update.
Oh - I should probably tell you that after I updated to moto's official Nougat, I promptly flashed the latest TWRP and @Silesh.Nair's InvictaOS before ever testing the stock Nougat ROMs' WiFi hotspot. I expect it works as well as moto's Marshmallow hotspot does. If not, you've got at least a dozen options.

The tethering is not authorized on stock firmware until it is "checked" and gets"OK" from the provider. It happen to me with CricketWireless.
However, you are trying to help somebody that doesn't care to be helped, unless it's under his conditions. I have blocked him for being rude.

As i gather you know, the portable WiFi hotspot in aosp certainly doesn't bother to get authorization from any carrier, and I recall no such hotspot authorization function added to moto's stock Marshmallow ROM for the unlocked G4.
Anyway, I guess neither of us have definitively answered the guy's question about the hotspot in moto's new OTA update to Nougat .

That's interesting. Thanks.
Before reading your last post, I got curious so I installed the updated stock nougat ROM again and tested the hotspot. It worked fine (without any entitlement bypass tweaks and without root).
FWIW, I've never purchased / activated the hotspot option for my vzw unlimited data plan.
Edit: I read that tethering entitlement bypass thread's OP more closely, and he referred to "carriers' Moto Xs" and different carriers entitlement check apps. So, i don't believe it applies to the unlocked moto g4 plus not sold through carriers (which is what we're talking about here .
Works good for me. The ads still behave the same and I'd love them to be gone, but I guess that's irrelevant. Tbh I do think my system is slightly slower but it's never been enough for me to have time to complain about it.

Lenovo lies to avoid to have to fix the update...
The news are that have some bugs and Lenovo have no plan to fix it, so that's why they have retired the update from their servers... You can download the update zip from internet and flash it manually (that's what I did), but have some things that fails like for example screen casting.
I don't use screen casting and I've not found other bugs for now, but maybe have more...
