So I've had this S-View case from Samsung on my Note 4 for 6 months and when I went to the mall I decided to try to wirelessly charge it on their Samsung Wireless chargers. It didn't work on either 4 of them (and yes they were working). Not sure why. I have the pins on the back of my phone that connect it to the case. Not sure why it won't wirelessly charge.

I think my USB cable which came with the stock charger is damaged. On the micro USB end, what's supposes to be in the middle/center is now sticking a little out. (I say again on the micro USB end, the one you stick in your phone. Should I replace the microUSB cable and keep the charger?

Does it work properly?
Yeah, works. I went out and bought a a micro USB cable, but it charges much slower than the stock one. Can one of you take a look on those photos and tell me if the jack is okay?

Does your phone charge? Also when you put your cable in your phone does it seem to stick out or does it look flush.
If it looks flush and if it's charging and there doesn't seem to do any damage to the actual phone I wouldn't worry about it.
My samsung charger, the actual USB cable is bent and it still charges just fine and doesn't affect my actual Micro USB slot for the phone.

It looks OK. I can wiggle it a tiny little to the right and left though. I wasted damn 12 euro on that new cable (I know I overpaid, I just wanted to charge my phone safely, ironically it just charged it slow as hell. The cable looked a bit cheap anyways.. I'll just give it away. )

Did you try plugging in the Note first and then plugging in the cable to the back of the dock afterwards?
It's a work around but seems to work in most cases.
Do you find that the Note 8.0 charges much more slowly in the smart dock than direct from the charger? Both Samsung chargers are the same (2A), but it seems to take twice as long to charge my Note 8.0 in the dock. Maybe the dock isn't passing on the whole 2A to the Note 8.0?
That seems to be an issue with 4.2.2 update..

Well I don't use the smart dock for my note 8 usually because taking it in and out of the book case is a pain..
I just tried it once just because I had the dock
Still I use the dock more with my note 2..

Are you using the official Samsung book case for your Note 8.0? I use that and use the dock with the case on, with the cover either closed or folded back.
Sent from my GT-N5120 using Tapatalk 4
Not the official book case. .. didn't think it would fit inside the dock with the cover on ... will see again
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
Yes it fits with the book case. ..no issues
But what ever I do. . Can't make it work. ..only charges. .no usb drive detection. ..or hdmi detection
Also I put the note 2 in dock and then connected the note 8 to usb port of the dock. .. shows as camera only. .no mtp
Tried using 3 different cables (all original)... still no solution. ..
On 4.2.2 Indian firmware

I believe the usb cable that came with it is really cheaply made. Did you try another cable?
My Samsung galaxy s4 and nexus and note 2 all had sub cable problems

Why would the note 4 charger overheat devices? The charging capacity s limited by the phone or the lower capacity of a wall adpater
Note 4 charger is a fast charger it has more amps compared to other chargers the note 4 is mentioned for it other devices are not. I've heard stories of people overheating devices using different chargers not mentioned for the device. Didn't want you to ruin any device if I could give you the knowledge beforehand.

yea.. wear and tear condition.. try replacing the USB cable (high quality).. and test it again with USB volt meter...
I've had both the adapter and the cable go bad, so you'll have to check both.

What do u meant by 'go bad' ? Do the refused to charge or charge at a very slow rate?
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA-Developers mobile app
One adapter that would not charge at all, two cables that stopped doing fast charge but would still slow charge.
