yea.. wear and tear condition.. try replacing the USB cable (high quality).. and test it again with USB volt meter...
I've had both the adapter and the cable go bad, so you'll have to check both.

What do u meant by 'go bad' ? Do the refused to charge or charge at a very slow rate?
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA-Developers mobile app
One adapter that would not charge at all, two cables that stopped doing fast charge but would still slow charge.

See after using galaxy charging current app.

Figured I'd ask to see if that'd be OK before I did some damage.
Also could I do the reverse, charge my S3 with the n10 charger??
Thanks!!

Yes you can. They both use a standard Micro USB charger. Any other previous blackberry or android phone you may have lying round will also work
Sure you can.. But it might charge slowly if the power adapter isn't able to output 2A @ 5v

I'm using my S3 charger now on my N10. Charge time is the same.
I've jsut found out that my charging cable(factory cable) is screwed.Sometimes it charges, sometimes not.My question is:can it damage the battery,or any hardware parts of the phone causing permanent issues?Of course, now i changed the cable to a good one...
If it sends the wrong voltage then yes but I highly doubt that since the USB Plug controls the voltage with the resistors and such.

No you are completely safe.
Like said above, the usb cable just transfers power. The power source decides how much it charges your phone.
That's why charging your phone with your computer/laptop takes alot longer then using the wall charger.

Yep, it does 500Mah each port but if only one port is in use on a 3 port laptop then it would be 1500Mah.

Can anyone help me understand why any other charger I use on my G2 charges very slowly (and tells me so)? I will get a wireless charger soon and keep the regular one in my work bag, but just trying to understand why anything but the one that came with the phone is such a dog even when it is plugged into the wall. thanks
The G2 charger outputs at a rate of 5v at 1.8amps. any charger that has a lower amp out will charger the phone at a slower rate and bring up the slow charge warning on the phone.

And you need a USB 3.0 cable with a charger having 1.8+ amp output. I tried using my ASUS tablet charger which has an output of 2amps and it still says slow charging. I also bought an aftermarket USB 2.0 cable and used the OEM LG charger and it will show slow charging also.

Have you compared charging times between this and the OEM? The description seems to make it s match.

My stock Samsung 2 amp charger and cable works great. No slow charging.

Hey all,
The stock charger that I got with my S5 (Australian) says it's a 2A charger.
But when I plug it into the wall, it only charges at 1A.
Also happens when I use my 2A car charger.
Anyone else experience this issue?
Possibly only the cable can handle 1A have you tried a different usb cable?

using the galaxy charging current app to display the charge rate

Using the same app, used it on the S4 and now S5 and got the same result. About 1-1.2 amps
Ive had the same phones aswell and with the original usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 cables I get a consistant 1800mah through galaxy charging current app
Sent from my SM-G900I using Tapatalk
Stock rom and kernel will only charge at 1200ma max if the screen is on. It goes up to 1800ma with the screen off. The charge rate is still dependent upon having a good or a bad cable though

Hi,
Are you sure it's not the cable that is causing the problem? Does the device uses the whole current when charging from the factory wall charger? It's either this or your Powerbank doesn't give you the proper current.

using the cable on a wall chargee gives me 1200mAh average
1900mAh maximum
so i don't think it's an issue.
furthermore, I am able to chage an iPad using the same powerbank and it charges nicely.
i was just thinking i saw something in before where it changes the current from USB.
well thanks anyway. i guess i'll have to replace ny powerbank
