[Q] Nexus 7 Charging problem how to fix - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My nexus 7 unable to charge more than 4 or 5%. and turn off after few minutes. Please help me how to fix this Nexus 7 16gb Wifi

I believe the usb cable that came with it is really cheaply made. Did you try another cable?
My Samsung galaxy s4 and nexus and note 2 all had sub cable problems

[Q] How long is the charger?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how long the charger is. i hope its not like my galaxy nexus (really short)
My Galaxy Nexus charger is actually quite long, far longer than that of my Nexus 7.

Faulty charger?

I my nexus turned up with 66% battery, I toyed with it all day and at 4% decider to charge it. Only to find out the charger didnt work!
I narrowed it down to the cable itself, and being a brand new cable I couldn't quite get it. Looking in the end of the smaller USB I can see there are only 4 pins, the one I am using from my galaxy nexus has 5 could this be why? Does everyone else have all 5 pins?

I was about to post and say that micro USB should have 5 pins... But then I actually looked at my n10 cable and it does only have 4. Pin 4 is missing (second from the left if you treat the longer side of the connector as the top). makes sense I guess, pin 4 serves no purpose in this type of cable.

Mine has 4 pins too.
What you should do: try charging a phone with charger
Or try the cable with a phone to a pc. That will tell if it's the cable.

Charging a galaxy s1 with a galaxy s4's charger

Hello everyone! I was wondering if there is any problem with charging a gt-i9000 phone with a gt-i9505 charger. Could you please tell me if anything may go wrong? Thanks!
No issues. The phone isn't going to charge any faster than it would with its own OEM charger, so there's no need to worry.

[Q] Power adapter and Nexus 2012/2013

Does anyone know if the power adapter from a Nexus 7 2012 can be safely used with a Nexus 7 2013?
Thanks.
I asked the same question and was told it was safe. Have been doing so for about 10 days.
I plug my nexus into any USB port or USB charger I have, is that a bad thing?

Not likely to hurt the Nexus, but might overheat the charger if the tablet needs more current than the adapter can provide....
I have to say, it's a very nicely made charger. Feels a lot like the back of the Nexus 7 itself. (And I bet Asus are charging a price for it not too far off the Nexus itself, too.)

[Q] Nexus 7, i have a problem with power charging

My nexus 7 have a problem, that can turn o, every time rebooting, won't accept any charge, how can be?
...i have almost the same issue with my 2012 N7, stock&root....it just will not charge (tried different chargers!) It shows "charging" but it uncharges...now it is dead!!! ....a known issue??

Sounds to me like you either have a broken lead on one of the charging pins inside the MicroUSB charging port or either your battery has malfunctioned.
I also have the Nexus 7 2012(grouper) and have a "tighter" connection using my Samsung ATIV SE MicroUSB cable, but the cable for my Galaxy S4 tends to fall out easily.
Remember that most aftermarket MicroUSB cables do not have all the pins inside the connector and most MicroUSB Chargers only have the 5V charging pins..
Try plugging your tablet into a USB port on a computer and see what happens..
Hope everything works out!

I have changed my usb-port as well, and the battery icon when the tablet is shut off shows that it is charging, however the OS when turned on doesnt seem to recognize that the charging cable is present. Also PC connection doesnt seem to work... Any ideas?
