Hello everyone, I'm using a redmi 3s international version with lte band 800mhz and snapdragon processor 430, I wanted to know if there's a way to turn off the compression of microphone while recording a voice memo or a video clip. I tried to use other applications in addition to those pre-installed, but the result does not change, the sound quality is always poor. Thank you.

Hi!
I did some skype video calling lately and experienced something strange. The quality of the transmitted video was way better from Note 2 than from Note 3 in various aspects:
Concerning the front cam, I had 17 to 7 fps, a much better quality in terms of light and color of the pictures. Turning on the the quality information the Note 2 also showed a lower cpu usage (!!).
Skype version on both: 4.5.0.39600
Note 2 rooted stock ROM 4.1.2, Note 3 rooted stock 4.3 MJ7.
So, is the current skype version not as optimized for snapdragon 800 as for Exynos?
The results for the back cams were similar, but not with such drastic difference. Still higher frame rates on Note 2, a bit more "natural" picture and lower cpu usage. This was kinda disappointing. I love boths my devices, but comparing them in many aspects of everyday usage, the Note 3 is not superior to the Note 2 in all aspects! Skype is just 1 thing, there are quite some things still lacking on Note 3, UMS e.g.
So, can somebody confirm my "discoveries" in terms of skype video quality?
Anyone to bring a bit more insight into that issue?
P.S. Anything similar on Hangouts video?
Note3 sucks videocalling

Any solutions for this thing here? really dissapointed with Note3 video calling this is to all applications not only in skype. video quality is bad. same goes with Xperia Z1 i changed to note 3 to eliminate the problem but only to find out that its just same freaking problem video quality so Bad.
hope someone could find a way regarding this problem. my Gf uses note 2 and way better video when we videocalling.
What to choose between them?
I know the specs but what is your opinion on what to chose?
For me it is easy to buy 4G in my country, but maybe it will be better to have dual sim.
I don`t know which one will have longer software support...I`ve heard that MIUI runs better on Snapdragon 400
I went for the 4G version and it`s......awesome.
Very pleased with the device (first i`ve tested that is not a clone) audio on headset is not bad as advertised (using poweramp for great audio ...) Display is sharp and saturation is pleasant , 3G/4G signal is good.
Regarding the size I cannot say that I am into 5.5" but in my hand this device fits perfectly (i had OPO and other 5,5 devices)
The low is the GPU but I can live with that.
Let`s start porting!
it totally depends on what are your requirements.....
for me .... was a dual sim.......
so went for Redmi note 3g dual sim version
According to ifixit, I realize Galaxy S5 mini has a Wolfson WM1811AE hifi DAC in it. https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Samsung+Galaxy+S5+Mini+Teardown/27579
S5 mini is running on Exynos 3470 processor which is the same as Tab 4 7.0 LTE (SM-T235) so I was wondering if T235 has a wolfson DAC as well? I wish i will be able to find out the audio DAC using the software method. Hopefully someone will develop a kernel with engine like voodoo sound/ boeffla sound for T235 if it is really running on wolfson WM1811AE.
Same question here.
I'm just about to replace my T230 with T235 and I'm really hoping for that Wolfson DAC. I love the deep super detailed sound it produces .
I think I've found somewhere on Wolfson web that all Exynos driven boards have Wolfson DAC, but I'm not sure now.
Anyway, T235 according to official manual has 2 mics instead of 1mic as T230, maybe this is a hint for someone with better knowledge to answer that question?
T235 sounds amazing! (like Wolfson)
OK so I've just replaced T230 with T235 (lte version).
Sound quality in T235 is amazing compared to T230, the high frequencies are most noticeable difference between these models, in T235 sound is much more deep, overall ambiance of sound is far more detailed, bass is deep and smooth.
I mean its like orgasm to my ears so it is very likely that this actually is Wolfson DAC.
With T230 I felt like there's something missing in sound.
The Exynos processor is much more powerful, UI works far more fluid - I've tested with animated wallpaper (Lattern Festival) - T230 was laggy, UI was chopping when swiping through the screens, this does not happen with T235 it is butter smooth.
T235 also has 2 mics, and vibration.
There's no problem with microphone like the one I've faced using T230 - people were not able to hear me on hangouts when I've used headphones without mic included....
There was also bugs with sound on T230 related to audio output. The problem was that when notification arrived it triggered tablet speaker, so currently applied sound effects are not supported by speaker and were turned off. This does not happen with T235, seems like there's more audio channels or something like that.
Yes, The audio sounds fantastic, but I wish we could get root on this device.
Need to enable LTE bands 4 and 17 for us stateside users.
Understand you have the 235 but wondering if anyone can comment on the SM-T235 versis the T235Y (has the Snapdragon 600)? Wondering which is faster/snappier? Any display differences? (color etc) Thanks
I would like to ask a general question. Is there any difference between Stock Samsung rom and Lineage rom when it comes to phones features quality? For example, camera, will it still be using same good dual pixel technology? Images will have same quality? Or some of the stock Samsung rom features will be gone? I know that the stock applications will be gone, and that’s a good thing, but I would like to know about the features:
• Samsung fast charging
• Dual pixel camera features
• 24 bit / 192kHz audio
• Wireless charging
• Calls and signal quality
Each Lineage rom has its own enhancements and problems.
It should have a full description of what works / what doesn't. What's included and what isn't.
Rooted devices will encounter Samsung Pay and Android Pay not working.
Tapatalk for Android - Works awesome on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge
I have the same questions....if anyone has answers, please share
Fast charge?.... I don't know but charging speed was same with stock rom.
Wireless charge? Works well.
Dual pixel? Maybe. image quality was same when I took a picture with snap camera app
Calls, signal quality: Doesn't have problem with calls, mobile network signal. However, Lineage os need more strong signal to conmect Wifi. But It's just slightly more.
Audio? If you use audio fx and find proper equalizer setting, You'll never consider it.
Actually, Human being can't distinguish 24 bit 192khz.
It is very upsetting that the sound quality on this phone is not even close to the rich sound found on the Samsung S4 made 3 years before.
Is there anyway I can upgrade the sound chip on this phone? I mostly listen to Music on Youtube, Soundcloud and other streams.
for having the s4 also, I find the g6 much better, either via headphones or via the speaker (which is really good for a mono positioned on one side)
I selected the equalizer "QuadBeat", the sound is rich and detailed, yet my model is the h870, it does not have the quad DAC but the quality is superb
Sent from my LG G6 using XDA Labs
What? You are comparing Galaxy S4 and G6? ? H870 (without quad DAC) have pretty solid DAC and AMP, and detailed test showed that even the Galaxy S8 Exynos haven't better audio chip than G6 H870 with standard DAC. Bottom firing speaker is also crispy and very detailed. Galaxy S4, oh man please don't...
