I have a BL unlocked NA variant device that I took from B20 to 27 and everything was okay. I flashed to B29 and somehow broke my mic but only in certain apps. I also am unable to activate dolby without loosing audio. Any of the great minds here able to give me an idea of what I might have messed up? I have reflashed 20-29 multiple times without resolve. Oddly, even youtube has noticeable delay between video/audio (dolby disabled)
Mic is working but no sound from stock dialer now?
I'm not sure of anything that would persist over multiple roms/resets but I'm now on CM13 and most of the other issues have resolved but I am unable to hear anything using the stock dialer. I can use google voice and the earpiece works fine. Audio everywhere else is working and my mic is back. Am I just having a serious case of bad luck or is there something I might have corrupted somewhere? Anybody have any ideas?

I have almost the same problem. I flashed santosh cm 14.1 and now my mic does not work (for calls and audio recording). But it works for video recording.
I also did a restore (alka twrp, including all partitions) back to crdroid 7.1, my mic is not working. Doing a factory reset (including /system) does also not work
I flashed cm 14 radio, but my mic does not work.
//edit: hate the xda APP search... Sorry wrong phone. I have the problem with xiaomi redmi note 3 pro....

So the problem is that no matter what custom ROM I use the mic volume is incredibly low. Talking on the phone I cannot be heard at all, if I put it on loudspeaker I can be heard faintly. Same problem for any app that uses the microphone, like sound recorder, recording a video, it barely picks up any sound.
But what's strange is that everything works perfectly on on Stock. I've installed custom ROMs on this before and last used cm10 before I upgraded way back. But now the problem also exists on that CM10 ROM. Any ideas how to fix it?
Additionally I've tried disabling the google now search listening (which fixed the same problem on my OPO) but does not work here. I've tried the following ROMs: CM10, CM11, CM12 all official nightlies and Crdroid 5.1.1.
Very frustrating as otherwise CM12 works perfectly and I intend to give this phone to someone!
So testing it further I found out that it works fine using google now and search. So either the internal microphone is disabled or maybe noise cancelling is messed up.
Odd problem I've had since starting to use Exodus 6... I don't know if it's a ROM problem, or something more general, as this is the first MM ROM i've used.
Device: D850
Currently running 20160419 nightly
(Clean flashed 20160416, but the factory reset didn't resolve the problem)
stock kernel.
The problem is that whenever i switch to speakerphone while on a call, the mic mutes itself and the person at the other end can't hear me. Turning the speaker off reenables the mic. I've recently noticed that the same occurs when i have the phone plugged in to my car audio through the 3.5mm jack. Sound outputs, but the mic is muted, so hands-free calling doesn't work, "OK Google" doesn't, voice-to-text for sending messages stops working, etc.
Anyone else run into this? Is there a fix? A way to start tracking down the problem, perhaps?
I had the same issue on cyanogen 13 with all the recent nightlies after some point in February. Could never narrow it down. I ditched cyanogen since and went back to stock rooted and I have no issues. I also had issues with speaker volume being extremely low.

hey guys, i have problem with recording audio, i have microphone suppression. also when using snapchap chat or instagram sroty videos the audio is suppressed. however, recording video in gcam, the audio seems to be normal.
this happened ever since i flashed custom roms, the first was crdroid and now liquid remix i have had the same problem. on the stock rom i didn't have this problem
anyone?
up
I think it's an issue with all custom roms, microphone is horrible on custom roms.
The secondary mic (on top of the phone) doesn't record sound in Instagram and Snapchat, only Gcam
As for a fix? I have no idea

I've seen fixes for the exact same problem but other Xiaomi devices such as redmi note 3 and 4
I've tried using the same files on Android P beta but that didn't work
The only workaround (a rather not plausible one) is to stay on stock rom until someone knowledgeable can fix it on custom roms
any fixes for this yet ?
why is anyone not trying to fix this problem?
??
My mobile was working well until I updated it to V-063 (I know Im a bit late )
After the update, No audio device is working. No speaker output or mic input, Cant play any Audio or Video in any app whatsoever. Not even the headphone jack is working
Tried 3 Custom Roms and older stock ROMs by AFT(334 & etc) and even flashed Viper and Dolby but still nothing.
Someone had a similar issue in 2018 but that threat is not solved till now (He might have had warranty at that time)
Please suggest any possible solution that I might have missed or suggestions :fingers-crossed:
I had a problem where the microphone on the earphones couldn't be used for sound input such as discord, whatsapp, and zoom. but this is normal when playing games like mobile legends. What should I do....? I really believe that my earphones are not the cause
That could be a rom specific bug. You can try a different rom to confirm. Try clean flashing with 087 firmware. If that doesn't work, I don't think you can do anything about this except wait for an update or use a different rom.
