This weekend, I was able to attend my first live shows since I have gotten my Pixel XL. Here are some samples from what I was able to record. This was at the Untapped Beer Festival in Dallas.
I always appreciate a phone with a camera that can capture footage from live shows nicely, and to me, the Pixel XL absolutely nails it!

Wow. pretty spectacular!!! I can see I'm going to have to increase my home internet speed cause I was unable to watch this in 4k or rather I wasn't patient enough to wait for it to buffer. Maybe I'll receive my pixel this week. At least the one I ordered for mom will be here today and I can mess around with it

So, on this stage, the bass hit really really hard. Like it shook you down to your shoes. I don't think any camera would have been able to withstand this.

I just made some outdoor music recordings (downtown Vegas) and can agree with the OP, the Pixel XL rocks. The sound and video quality is great. The music I recorded was mega loud with a lot of bass and it sounds great with no static or clipping. If I were smarter I could post it here https://youtu.be/eIPGEYzI0Qg

Cute polar bear. Nice video quality too. I'm don't get it when some people say "the video quality on the nexus one sucks" when all i've seen is well... beautiful results. Go figure?

Yeah I didn't even notice that. It really doesn't get much better than what you recorded though as far as from a cell phone camera.
note: I ment I* not I'm in my last statement..
that first vid in the heli was shot after a mod a user on xda used on his nexus one
there working on mods to upgrade the cam to 720p with 25fps and a upgraded sound rec... they have had a little luck but still trying

looks like the hyperx mod improves the audio...i needed to turn up the volume even higher to hear the loud hissing sound as compared to the other 2 videos.

It's just average video of a bad, very bad subject.
10-15 min of few girls standing and few guys photographing them is just not good video review.
And I see I'm not the only one who thinks that.
I can't see what's the point of it...
If you showed us video in liw light conditions or in good light, moving objects or something similar but this...

These batch of samples are mainly to test how well the Z1's auto focus, steadyshot and built-in mic would fair in crowded areas and as a recording device in a concert (which i actually got a number of requests for this and happened to pass by a concert) So no, it's not completely useless.

I don't see why people are hating on this guys video sample, if you don't like it, you can give some constructive criticism, otherwise, keep your mouth shut!

Yeah, he said the Pixel XL speaker was louder and more clear in a Reddit post before it got deleted. Maybe the speaker is bigger or higher quality or maybe both

This place saved some of the videos and pictures from the Reddit post. The night shot picture comparison looks really good. The 6P looks decent, but when you expand the pictures the Pixel shows a lot less grain and a lot more detail.

It sure does, but I remember reading on Reddit earlier that HDR+ was not being utilized by accident at some point on the 6P. So I wonder if that shot from the 6P used HDR+ or not... if it did, that's a huge increase in image quality... like, best low light smartphone camera in the world quality. But if the 6P didn't use HDR+ in that shot, then the comparison is useless.
