Lets tweet to @jiayueting and @leecoGlobal and @LemallUSA about unlocking the bootloader. With all of us, they'll have to respond.

This is what I received from a Le Engineer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Le Pro 3 support Android Pay function, so it has no plan to provide the option of unlocking bootloader in order to protect users’ security and our content business. If you really want this function, you can consider Le S3 model instead and hope it meets your mobile needs.
As we knew, other devices supporting the Android pay also lock bootloader, something like Samsung and LG brand. From security perspective, it is definitively safer to lock the bootloader by default. It’s also a default US carrier requirement.
Hope it helps.

That was a LeMiddle finger.
I don't want to create an account over there just to respond, but you might want to point out to Le Engineer that the Pixel and Pixel XL - you know the GOOGLE PHONES - they have unlockable bootloaders.
After taking the 58019 OTA update, I was able to run the ADB fastboot command to unlock the bootloader. It appeared to work, but I haven't attempted flashing TWRP or SuperSU yet.

The wording changed on the return site as well, it now says that you have to pay shipping if you return it without a defect. Because it did not say that originally can we get around that?
This sounds very promising... Hopefully you can also flash twrp recovery and we are good to go...
Tried unlocking oir 727, no go.

Did you do the bootloader unlocking flash able zip method from in the US LP3 persistent bl unlock thread? You have to boot twrp in memory after temporarily unlocking and then format data to remove encryption. Then flash that bl unlocking zip. Then unlock > reboot > after setup reboot to BL (now perm unlocked) and flash twrp to recovery partition via fastboot. It will then stay there, and you can flash SuperSU. Worked for me on 727. Currently rooted, using soft keys, BusyBox and Xposed installed.

sorry, personally I have no idea if the bootloader on that particular JB build is unlockable, maybe one of the senior/more experienced members can shed light on this.
BUT the bootloader is unlockable on the stock 182 / 183.46.10 KitKat builds. for further information, look here

Simply a big NO.
Just do the upgrade to .10 (not .15!!!) and then unlock your bootloader, it's worth it.

182.46.10 or 183.46.10 Kit Kat ROM from sbf-developers.com is completely unlockable. I have unlocked my phone from this ROM version.
I'm pretty sure .66 was the unlockable JB version. They locked up on .78, which was the next OTA. Are you granting root access to Motopocalypse when the pop-up shows up on your phone?

install supersu from the play store but don't open it yet.
install towelroot, ensure you have internet connectivity, then open it and use it to get root
use motocalypse (i've had better luck with the apk version than the adb version) to unlock your bootloader
profit
everything is detailed in the @ATTACK thread here. Do try and read it thoroughly before you proceed.
Now, grab Motopocalypse APK and Towelroot. Root it with Towelroot (and install SuperSU from Play Store), then launch the Motopocalypse app, grant it root permission, and run the unlocking procedure. After this, reboot. If you go to Fastboot menu, you will see Status 3 in the Fastboot information screen. Status 3 = unlocked bootloader. Also, another way to know you're unlocked is the scary warning in black background and teal fonts mentioning that you have unlocked the bootloader, before the operating system boots.
EDITED: I suppose I am a tad slow, so I'm Ninja'd.

hugh a, he updated to Kit Kat.
Hey XDA,
My Nexus ha been a dream. Though I've hit a few bumps, I don't expect to waste money on other flagships again.
I don't need to be able to right this instant, but wiping cache is one of my regular troubleshooting tools. Upon troubleshooting an MMS issue I was having, I discovered my recovery wasn't working properly. Though I fixed the MMS issue by resetting APN settings, the recovery thing has been bothering me.
I am running stock and locked. I have done nothing to this phone to warrant it being my fault. The problem is simple (and a Google search indicated, common). When you get to Recovery, you get a droid on its back, a red exclamation mark and "NO COMMAND". Doesn't matter if you hold up and power, tap up, or get there from the bootloader. The recovery software is seemingly missing completely.
I have an extended warranty through the retailer I bought from, but the phone is otherwise fine, so this is a last resort.
My dilemma is that I want to use Android pay. My understanding is that even unlocking the bootloader breaks Android pay. Is this correct? If so, can one reliably reset the phones security trips to allow Android pay after flashing the recovery back on?
Thanks for the help.
No, unlocking the boot loader does not block Android Pay.
There is a systemless root method for the Nexus that allows you to use Android Pay while rooted, there are also a couple of ROMS that have it working currently as well.

Quite so? Can you provide links to the root method and mayhaps the roms? Does this mean I could slap TWRP on here with no consequence?
Android pay already patched systemless root. If you want Android pay don't root. You can unlock though. That will not affect Android pay.

Does this mean that I can't flash at least a stock recovery?
Download your system image, unzip it, unlock your bootloader and flash only the recovery.IMG in fastboot, then relock your bootloader again. Android Pay will work fine and your warranty won't be affected so long as you relock your bootloader

Yes. Myself I would flash full image and start over fresh. But you can go with just recovery if you want. Also do not forget to check allow oem unlock in dev settings before attempting to unlock. If you want twrp you will need modified stock boot image with DM verity removed. Or else it won't boot. I can link you to one from the newest image if you'd like. But if you only want stock recovery you don't need anything other than stock Google image.

There are quite a few errors in the information given in this thread.
1. Unlocking the bootloader does not break Android Pay.
2. Android Pay has been patched so you can't have root with Android Pay, even systemless.
3. TWRP recovery does not require a modified boot.img.
4. Flashing any recovery (Stock or TWRP) will not affect Android Pay at all.
If you need directions on unlocking or flashing check my guide:

Actually AP now works with systemless root again. I have AP working (yes actually making purchases), currently running the latest Chroma Rom with Supersu 2.61
Found the workaround in this thread.

I've always been under the impression that the device will not boot with twrp installed unless you have DM verity checks removed. Has something changed with that.

I can second this. I have systemless root, and AP working, confirmed with purchases. Just a note, if you can successfully add a card, that means it has to contact your bank for approval, therefore it should confirm AP is working.
please any body suggest me an easy way(any way) to unlock boot loader and root my device,my ultimate wish is to root my device to remove bloatware. I searched the entire forum for a way to root my device but there are lot of conflicting opinions some say unlocked boot loader is a must for root , some threads say root is required for unlocking the boot loader,i am confused ,please give some advice by witch i can ultimately root my device
my device- ZE550KL
OS - MARSHMALLOW 6.0.1
with locked boot loader and unrooted
2GB ram
I will be grateful to you and ill be glad
I don't know if you can get root if you are on MM without fully switching to CM13.
I think it's pretty "easy", it's depend from the person to person though
There's already thread to unlock BL (no relock atm), and getting root is simply flash supersu.zip
It's just my thoughts, I'm not saying you must do what I'm going to write down here, so I'm not responsible if anything happen
* You need, say TWRP, to get root, how to get TWRP? "flash" recovery right?
* flash custom img (recovery) only possible if BL unlocked, you got bootloop if still locked
* so what if we just boot to twrp? Leave that stock recovery? We don't need that unlocked BL right?
* then the problem come from supersu, default su installation on M+ come in "systemless" mode, which modifying the boot.img, as point 2 above, we can't have non-stock img flashed on locked BL
* so how about make supersu "system", it did work on L with locked BL anyway, it's not modifying any boot.img,
* you could got root w/o unlocking BL by booting twrp, and flash su in system mode
Personally I'm not able to test this, because I love breaking things :silly:

If you don't unlock the bootloader, you can't flash a custom recovery. If you can't flash a custom recovery, you can't install a custom rom or possibly the su binary. Unlocking essentially bypasses the verify process on boot; it verifies the rom, recovery, etc. is the signed official version. I've understood some tools may be able to allow root on an locked bootloader, but I'm not sure for the 6P.
Unless you care about Pay, just backup the phone and unlock it.
was hoping a dev could figure this out. i just want root for root apps and flashfire to flash things. kind of sucks having a nexus that requires an unlocked bootloader for root but i been on stock rom with locked bootloader after going two weeks with custom roms and no android pay. still hoping it will happen eventually.

People have had success using Android Pay on a rooted 6P. I think people use magisk and Phil's SU and they are able to hide root from Android Pay and other apps. You should do a search through the forums. A lot of people talk about doing it successfully.
Hey there,
I've read about GooglePay not working after unlocking bootloader. I don't know if I will ever use GooglePay but I want to know if I can go back to stock (lock bootloader?) some day after unlocking to start using GooglePay.
Cheers
Google Pay works even with Magisk.
But yes, you can lock your bootloader again with adb/fastboot ot Mi Flash, when you want.

You can relock BL only if you first go back to stock
Locking BL pulls low-level Factory reset (not sure would it even work if you are on LN or other custom ROM and/or custom Recovery or would it simply brick your phone that you will need then paid assistance with EDL account to unbrick)
(Besides, what would you do then in future if you lock BL when you have LN - you would never be able to unlock again because you must be on stock for unlocking. And with relocked BL you would not be able to flash anything anymore)
Thank you for this explenation,
