Hello,
I really want to root my device, but i'm afraid I'll loose my warranty. Is there any way to unroot P9 Lite and relock bootloader in case I'll ever need to use my warranty? Previously I had Samsung Note series device, and they had Knox protection - does P9 have something simillar? Or can I just restore the phone to completely factory state, even after unlocking bootloader and rooting it?
Thanks for replies
No it doesn't
However, you need to unlock bootloader in order to root.
I recommend to not root your phone. You will have some...problems after root. (Depending on your device)

As far as i know, i didn't had any problems on my VNS-L21
However, my friend rooted his p9 lite, but he had problems with lag spikes and fingerprint after rooting
Idk if this will happen to you. But it's safe to root. As long as you root with caution, you won't have any problems!
Use the ToolKit from the forum. It's safe and it's easy to use
I got no problem for rooting. However installing xposed did causes some problem to me.
Yes, you can restore it to factory state even after unlocking bootloader.
And the best way to restore is re-flashing stock rom.
You must first backup everything you'll need and have update.app in dload folder for factory restore.
Then, your phone will lose root and have relocked bootloader again.
After rooted. I re updated everything to stock. No problems. Even with original bootloader.

Yes. It's true.
Besides loosing your warranty and having a chance to hardbrick your device, yes! You can have problems
And it matters HOW you root it. Using the unlock bootloader and recovery method, you will loose security and have a battery drain.

Hi guys, I found a new method to have a fully functional root with SuperSU instead of Kingroot.
1- Download Kingroot 4.5 from https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/Kingroot_V4.5.0.722.apk?attredirects=0
2- Install app and root the phone with it
3- Install Super-Sume from Play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=darkslide.com.supersume), open it and click on the button with the white android: the app removes all Kingroot apps and installs SuperSU.
4- Reboot and enjoy!
If Kingroot app is still present after reboot, just uninstall it by Titanium Backup or another uninstaller; you can also uninstall Super-Sume after the work is done!
SOME ADVICES (carefully pasted and adapted from Super-Sume app description........)
- This is the process that you MUST follow in order for this to be successful !!!
- Once your device is rooted with Kingroot install Super-Sume, do not install it prior !!
- If you have TEMP root OR are on Kingroot PRIOR TO 4.5 you will need to unroot your device first, re-root with KingRoot 4.5 and then install Super-Sume AFTER you are rooted and run it.
- If you are on KingRoot 4.5 or higher you should be all set to just install it and run it at any time after root.

Supersu is well known by all apps that need root: for example if you have Kingroot and open Titanium Backup it says that you'll may have problems with Kingroot...this not happens with Supersu.
Supersume uninstalls all apps installed by Kingroot, even Purify. If you don't like Purify, but you desire to keep root by Kinguser, you can uninstall it manually!

This is not possible on Samsungs for example, so was wondering how it works here before I root it

Hey guys, I'm wondering how to install root access to my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (Z00A) with the latest firmware update.
I saw that there was a way to do it by recovery but it was for the beta and I'd rather do it in some other way.
Does anyone know a working way to root it?
Thank you in advance.
need that too, and an unlock bootloader tool
Can we root android 6.0.1 without unlock bootloader? Warranty is important for this ****ty phone

The way is the same as for MM beta Rom.

I wouldn`t be so sure. I followed the steps and it didn't work. My bootloader is locked, as it was on LP. Some people say we need to downgrade, unlock bootloader, flash MM again and root, but I'm not in the mood to do it now. Some users on that thread say tethered TWRP should work on locked bootloaders, but it's not working on my phone, and I'm not the only one who reported the same.

There's a "Check root availability" button on that site. I clicked it and selected Asus, model z00a with Android 6.0.1. According to the results, no one click root available yet. I've entered my email address to be notified when it becomes available.
The title of this thread is very misleading. It's declarative rather than interrogative; I thought it was a guide or something.

Thamks for the info. I didn't want to unlock the bootloader, but maybe it's the only way. I'll test it when I get home from work.
Regarding your issue with xposed, if you flashed twrp or can at least enter fastboot mode and issue a "fastboot boot twrp.img" command to boot into twrp, there's a xposed uninstaller zip you can flash to recover from the bootloop. I've had to use it before on other phones and it always worked like a charm.
MM Root + xposed ok on Z008
Hi Guys,
I have a Z008 and did the official upgrade to MM yesterday.
But before doing the upgrade, I unlocked my booloader while in LP (using the official Asus apk)
After the upgrade I got rooted + xposed using the same procedure than for beta MM (shakalaca method):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/android-6-0-beta-root-xposed-downgrade-t3404321
For those who want to downgrade safely to LP, Asus provides a downgrade image on its support page, and Z00A as well (didn't try):
https://www.asus.com/fr/Phone/ZenFone_2_ZE550ML/HelpDesk_Download/
Hope it will help

It really wouldn't hurt your phone more than it is now, would it? Maybe that's why the guide containing the procedure to root the MM beta rom specifically talked about the supersu zip beta version.

I dont think so. I would just flash the stock firmware. You can flash the latest firmware or seek for an older one. Once you flashed stock you're bootloader will be relocked and root will be gone.

I would recommend to just flash L21C66B versions, otherwise you'll have to change the oeminfo file, which Im pretty sure can be done using the toolkit.
After changing the oeminfo file your Cxx will be different and you'll be able to flash versions with the new Cxx (Cxx is your region and Bxx is the version of your firmware.)

Look for the SRK tool on the roms and recoveries section of the p9 lite. I believe you can change your oeminfo with that, and changing oeminfo will change your C66 to something you want. And yes, it will be full stock. No apps, bootloader, recoveries, root or anything.

There is but it can seriously mess your phone. Apps such as kingroot can root your device without having you to unlock the phone but these apps have a bad reputation. So recommend to root by classical method.

Only software warranty will be void not hardware.

No. You won't be able to update via ota (over the air) nor you will be able to update via Update.APP. However you can flash update.zip via twrp. You can find it on xda. It will erase your data though.
