Any idea which Rom is installed on the Global international version ?
Is it the Chinese Rom ?
There is only Chinese ROM. Chinese ROM has English and Chinese language options.
Global ROM has not been released and will not unless the phone sees an international release.
Vendors will often modify the Chinese ROM and add language packs, google apps etc and call it global ROM. It's easy enough to change the MIUI Version string in the Settings app so it reads whatever you want it to read.
You can get the official untouched ROM from miui.com (at this stage it's only the developer - 6.11.3 (MIUI8) version) This may be what the phone ships with or they may only release stable firmware a little after launch.
Otherwise Xiaomi.eu releases modified MIUI ROMs for pretty much all devices, these include language and localisation info for just about everywhere and despite countless thousands of downloads across many Xiaomi phones nothing untoward has been found in any of their builds.
The first release for the Mi Note 2 from them will probably be Monday, they may take a week or so longer.
Another alternative is Mi-Globe.com - They use the MIUI base and let you customise a few different things but I'm getting off topic here.
That isn't to say you shouldn't get one shipped with vendor ROM, if you get one shipped with a Vendor ROM they will have at least performed some basic testing on the device so a DOA is much less likely, I'd just be sure to wipe it clean and replace with something reputable at your first chance.

i have the phone. to answer your question, it's a Chinese ROM, but it has English as a language. and most of the Chinese apps pre-built in are uninstallable. the few that cannot, i was able to disable them and turn off notifications. after that i slapped on a nova launcher and my phone behaves mostly like a clean unlocked google device, not a "china phone".
xiaomi's Chinese rom is a lot better than the Chinese roms on say, Gionee or Vivo/Oppo, in that after you change language to English, almost all of the Chinese texts are gone. so far the only place that still has chinese text is one uninstallable Xiaomi app (which i disabled and can't see unless i go into settings and look at all the apps) and the Xiaomi theme store.
oh and google play services can be installed straight from xiaomi's app store within the phone.
TWRP was released on Thursday, so I could not care less about a "global" ROM version.
Just unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP and the 6.11.10 EU MIUI 8 and be happy, all the China Bloatware will be gone and you will only see Xiaomi App Store which I haven't even opened.
Install your favourite launcher and dialer and you are done!

Global version still isn't out yet. So that's just one of the normal non-global models with a different ROM version and GApps.
Which ROM version do you download from the EU.miui.com website?
I've been following the Global ROM releases (currently at 6.12.1) but the Mi Note 2 is never in the list of supported devices, just the Mi Note. ?

yes it come with global miui 8 rom and absolutely no chinese bloatware whatsoever except some miui apps... it also come with google playstore but no other google apps like chrome or even maps...

There's no links to post that haven't already been posted.. Vendors cook their own roms and relabel them as global edition, same as always.
There's no global edition rom from xiaomi, the current CN rom released is designed for all editions of the phone and without unlocking bootloader that's still the only option.
With an unlocked bootloader you can look at third party miui like xiaomi.eu and mi-globe.com, both put out weekly releases that coincide with the release of miui but won't allow OTA.

You have not the global version. The global version had 6 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM, you have only 64 GB ROM and not all LTE bands.

believe you need to get a xiaomi account and request a bootloader unlock. get the unlock code and plug it to the desktop app miunlock. after that its a simple flash.

Had now worked a while with that phone. Battery lasts long and phone is fast enough for all apps for daily use. Can use it as a daily driver. But want LineageOS. Miui EU is quite good, but I think lineage might be better.

Additional note: you need an unlocked bootloader. My Redmi 4A from gearbest came already unlocked. And this is also the reason, why you should flash a clean ROM at first ... You do not want the gearbest ROM.

Just give version from xiaomi.eu a try. This is a custom ROM. Official global ROM is somehow another ROM.

Thanks for your recommendation. I tried search from xiaomi.eu, TWRP downloaded but can't find the ROM link.
Instead changing ROM, I tried download the latest Apk (V0.55.0), it work with the Official Global ROM I install, only things that Google Play still shown device not support. <guess Niantic hasn't updated their list of supported devices, I just comment via playstore, see whats going next> Thanks! :good:

and Download TWRP. Follow instructions. The Redmi 4A Codename is Rolex, see last but one line. So you have to download the HM4A version from

I haven't got one yet, but thinking of getting my hands on the moment LineageOS is available! LineageOS 14.1 on the Redmi 4A would be the perfect budget device.

as i said it was leaked in miui forum, but then the thread and posts including this link were deleted, i downloaded the file but i have currently not my mi note 3 because it is for repair in the service center, so i can't test it.
The Link is from official miui server, so the package is realy from xiaomi, i think that maybe on friday they will start to release global developer roms finally.
Installed it. And it's working. But FaceID is still not there. After installation TWRP gone.

xiaomi.eu is based on china developer version and china stable version and modified, and yes xiaomi.eu is a good custom rom, but nothing more and not comparable to a xiaomi global developer or stable rom.
Global stable official is more,well,stable then xiaomi.eu stable. Tryed them and went back to global stable.

He might prefer the original global experience, that has less features than china ROM. No problem, not everyone wants more features.

At this point, probably not. You'll likely need to have a custom recovery, and a modified zip of the Chinese rom (not sure if the original rom would flash or have any issues).

I had both in hands and kept global, CN is more STABLE and frequently updated more often, CN is better smoother and faster when I compared both phones while turning on cn was much faster also fingerprint works better and faster on CN, more free ram about 5.7GB compared to global 4.7GB, however play services, google play wont work properly at least now so I still preffer global, much less hastle with compatibility issues
i am also trying to go fo China ROM. I am using Global ROM currently, which is 'empty' and not interesting at all. No screen recorder, no other features like was available in Helo or BS1 China ROM... Anyone has link to CN ROM please update

No, not stable. I used BS2 for 4 days, during which time I had to restart 11 times. google play services stop regularly; when the screen is active, the BS logo start illuminating before if the system thinks it wants to be lit now because it is not always lit
I am on the CN Rom, but I can't tet OK Google to work unless it is from the Google App itself. Any ideas?

Is this safe to perform, will I brick my phone?
I just did that and its safe. I am just not sure about relocking, most people suggest to not re-lock. Just leave it unlocked.

You can't download PEMEUVF just use PEMEUXM its basically the same just without some 2 Vodafone apps preinstalled.

EXACTLY THIS. I have one phone with VF on THREE in UK that shows 5G in "prefered neywork" and one phone with XM on THREE that does not show 5G . Anyone know how to fix this? or does anyone have VF to share?

You have to manually flash the Global ROM. Both, VF PEMEUVF and Global PEMMIXM ROM support 5G in "preferred network". As the VF branded version is not downloadable anywhere, you will have to get the fastboot global version
The Europe PEMEUXM release doesn't show the 5G option, so it should to be avoided at the moment.

If your Rom is (Global_V10.3.19.0.PEMEUVF) this already support for 5G mobile networks.
I don't see any Vodafone apps preinstalled. It was a clean and clear with Google Apps only. Some may not getting update (Global_V10.3.21.0.PEMEUVF)from OTA , try change your Region (Setting-> Additional setting-> Region) to "United Kingdom" and check again for the update (Setting-> About phone-> System update ) Good luck.

Instructions:
You must be running latest version of Oxygen OS 11. Download the attached ColorOS 12 zip file and do local update. Place ColorOS 12 inside internal storage – Go to settings – System update – Tap on Gear icon on the right top corner – Select local update – Select file & wait for Installation to complete and then reboot.
Note: When you have an existing google account logged in before installing update file, Google Play and services will still be available but if you upgrade from a freshly formatted OxygenOS 11 device with no google account, it isn't available anymore.
I have two OnePlus 8's. Tested this method and works both on my global and T-mobile variant.
Also, it is weird when you check the about phone section, our cpu processor now says Snapdragon 855 lol
Root:
- Unlock Bootloader (if not yet unlocked)
- Download and install attached magiskv23.0 apk
- I have provided different Color OS12 root toolkits depending on the Software Version you installed. Download and extract.
- Reboot to bootloader
- Run coloroot.bat
- Done
To downgrade: use MSM download tool and flash your stock firmware / alternatively I flashed an incompatible boot.img via fastboot, ROM will crash and you will boot automatically in bootloader mode. Go to recovery and format data & cache, after a few reboots, system will go back to my previous Oxygen OS 11.0.9.9 build.

The actual version of this build is C.07 anf I corrected my title already..Is CBT 5 a later build for Coloros12? Could you share it?

Also keep in mind that ColorOS by default has about 400 system apps installed. About 100 of those are random Chinese bloatware and spyware apps that can't be disabled without root. They somehow disabled using ADB commands to remove apps (fishy).
Im running c.08 right now fiddling with stuff but wouldn't recommend as a daily driver

yes, I just confirmed it works too. just make sure you are running on latest oxygen 11 version before updating.

yes still a lot of kinks. for one, I had to turn on and off USB debugging in C.07 just to get adb detected. Just installed C.08 and it feels a little bit smoother compared to c.07.

Yeah I guess that was for oneplus 8 pro. I flashed the link you are using and it's working. Also made root to work.

I personally daily drive OxygenOS. It's very stable and I like the look and feel. However AICP ROM, is by far the smoothest and cleanest experience for the Oneplus 8 at the moment. Big ups to that dev (semdoc) he's a genius been using his roms for years.
Does anyone know if it works on a oneplus 8 tmobile IN2017?

If you know the developer of that ROM, please ask him to remove the built-in su (or whatever magisk detects). There's a possibility I'm thinking of some other ROM, but I think this was the one I saw that in.
