Any help appreciated. I have a 32 GB Silver 6P that was purchased new on Swappa and was running flawlessly. It was updated to Nougat via beta program when Nougat was officially released. It is on the Google Fi network and was running fine up until 10/31. I left it on the charger that came with it and on 10/31 am, it will no longer turn on. I don't know the IMEI nor SN, it's not on the box. I have tried all the things to get it to turn on (Holding PB for 15 sec, Holding PB and Vol Dwn button), nothing works. HELP!!!
This happened to me 3 months ago
I left the phone on charger for about 12 hours straight untouched
Then when i came back from work i pressed the home button for about 5 minutes or even more then it worked again ( by the way after all that charge time, when it opened again battery level was just 35 % )
Now try the power button for 5 minutes straight if no response you may try what i did
Good luck

You may also consider trying the charger on another phone to make sure it's working
Also consider trying to charge with the provided short usb cable and another working charger
It will eventually work again
Keep calm bro

Idk, unless the guy I bought it from tore the paper wrapper. I only got a white box without a cover wrap. At any rate, phone is back on and I have stored the IMEI and SN in a safe place.

How long did you leave the phone plugged into a wall outlet? Some people reported they plugged the phone in for 24 hours or more before their phone came back to life. I think the notification light being on while the phone is plugged in is a sign that your phone is back from the dead.

Purchased the device brand new from Best Buy on March 11, 2016 . Running 7.1.1 since it's release and worked fine last night, left it plugged in all night and confirmed it was charging. Use stock OEM charger. Wake up this morning and it won't respond to any button-press variations (Power, Power + Vol Down, Power + Vol Up & Vol Down, etc).
I don't see any indication that powers on at all (No boot logo, Android with exclamation mark, etc)
Mac and Windows do not recognize device is plugged in. (Using included USB Type-a cable)

just leave it on charger for 24 hours before any other procedures to make sure it is a temporary battery problem
but only after you are sure that the Charger is already working

Hi.
*I have read all 16 pages of the forum, and haven`t find any solution for my issue.
Have rooted with TouchNooter 2.1.31. Could not log into Youtube(error 401) and decided to go back to stock.
For that I did standard Erase&Unregister and then used recovery image from thread (n2T-Recovery_0.2.rar)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1289233.
Recovery went well. Got my nook back to stock 1.0.1 version.
Then I wrote nook_1_1_update.zip to nook`s partition and waited till it reboot and begin to install.
When the message "...Install is in progress do not power off..." appeared I went to sleep.
In the morning I found still the same screen and device not responding to anything.
I thought that maybe it discharged and have plugged it into USB, message appeared that "charge is in progress". After around 15 minutes I tried to power it on, but got message "...power is to low wait 15 min...". I left it plugged in and went to work. When I came back the charge led baecame green, but still the message "wait 15 min"
Now I`m here. Have tried all the buttons and times combinations suggested to bring it on but still nothing...
Thaks in advance for any help.
PS have no backup images

Does it try to reboot when you long press the power button? (10-15s)
No matter how long I press, nothing happens, at all.
When I connect it to PC there`s some new device blinking in "Devices and Printers(Win7)" something like OMAP3630

I'm putting my money on it being entirely out of power
When you have it plugged on the charger, does the led go orange, and does the led go green for a few seconds when you try to reboot it?
In the morning it was orange when I plugged in so I decided it is discharged and left the device for day. Now the led is green(when plugged to usb) and does not change.

Charging from USB can be very unreliable, use the charger.
In fact my NST is in the same state as yours right now because I left it in a half-booted state last night
My screen is blank and the only reaction I get is a small flicker on the LED and a tiny visit by the OMAP device
I know from experience that trying to charge it from my USB hub will not work, or take days, but if I use the charger it will wake up in about 20 minutes.
Arrr, havent ordered the charger >_<
Wait... I have connected it to my note and led is orange now, so the charge process is going on. Ill wait a while, maybe it`ll get some charge to boot.
Thanks for support ros!
...UPD While I was wrighting this the display reacted, now it indicates the charging process. Thanks again

Uhm, did it come without a charger?
Mine came with one although it was useless to me as I live in Norway, it kinda doesn't fit the sockets we have over here
I just use the charger for my mobile phone, it can deliver a lot more than my crappy USB hub
It now comes only with usb-cable, without charger. I live in Ukraine so saw no need to order charger too.
After 20 minutes still battery too low. Is there a possibility that I could damage the battery in some way?

Like Googie says, just give it time.
Mine usually awakes after 20min on my charger, trough a USB port it might take a lot longer depending on the device you're charging from.
And no, your battery is not in danger.
Agreed. When it gets completely drained it can sometimes take 20 minutes or an hour sometimes I've noticed even longer before I could get mine to start properly. The major issue though here will be if it stopped in the middle of an install you might need to use n2T-Recovery_0.2.rar to get it to properly boot before trying to update again.

Alex,
Charger is included always, even with refurbished Nook.
It's 100-240AC, 50/60Hz.
You need is US/Euro adapter only (not transformer), cost $0.5.

I bought another NST during Thanksgiving @ Target. Didn’t even notice missing charger until now
While in the middle of reading an email (using the gmail app) and downloading an update to a marketplace app (Go SMS Pro), my phone suddenly froze and a minute later, shut off and hasnt come back on again. I switched batteries, tried different chargers, nothing works. no screen glow, no charging orange light (battery was at about 80% when it died), nothing. the water damage indicator is white.
Plugged it into my PC and it recognized a USB device but could recognize what type etc and asked for drivers.
The phone had original software (2.3.4) and wasnt rooted or anything. Just a month out of the warranty period. Tmo threw their hands up and offered me their off contract pricing for new phones . is it time to start looking for a replacement? Any hope?

but can you get into the bootloader? its not completely dead since your computer detects something when its plugged in so it could just be a messed up rom that kicked you into a different mode..
if you can still get into the bootloader you should technically be able to reinstall the stock image or even root and flash a recovery tool

You can make sure the connectors are clean for the phone, or it may be your power button, I have seen many people talking about dying out power buttons, there is a fix, I think I will have to look it up, it was on these forms.
---------- Post added at 10:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:38 PM ----------
Read up again, plugging it in and holding down either the home or the trackpad button for 20 seconds could work. Also found this post below.
jjbadd385:
If your power button is broken, you can seperate the black rubber from the chrome bezel, right at the power button, you will see a silver dot with a silver ring around it,,which is the flex ribbon, and very, very small. Anyway, take a piece of aluminum foil and twist it up, now touch the silver dot and ring simultaneously, for like 1 or 2 seconds, and it will come on, if your flex ribbon is not broken. I have an extra. Mt4g with a broken power button, and I power it on this way a few times a day...takes about 10 seconds.
---------- Post added at 10:53 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:48 PM ----------
Here is a good thread if it is your power button.

Sorry if none of this works :/
I've seen this happen already with a different phone, I went as far as sending it out to be repaired and the service department said the processor shorted out and needed to either buy new or a refurbished one. It will still show on a computer because there is power to it but due to the processor going bad it won't do anything from that point. I would go with the mt4g slide it has great reviews and a solid forum here.

same thing happened to my phone all I did was i took the battery out and left it for about a day and came bak put the battery back on pressed the power button and it worked
Hey everyone,
Problem:
Last night I was using my phone and it was on around 50% battery. I put it in my pocket and a few minutes later when i checked it, it appeared to be dead. It would not turn on when i tried to hold in the power button. I rooted my phone over a year ago and haven't updated it in a long time. It seems to have bricked out of the blue and it wont turn on.
Attempt to troubleshoot:
I tried removing the battery and putting it back in. When i do this the Samsung logo briefly appears with the normal unlocked screen. After about 2-3 seconds I notice a tiny glitch across the screen and then it goes black and there is nothing. I put my friends battery from his S4 in my phone and the same exact thing happens.
I also called AT&T and my warranty expired for this phone a few weeks ago. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks,
-Alex
Does it do the same thing if you try to boot it into Odin mode? Meaning power plus the volume button.

Yeah I tried doing that as well. It only works for about a second. When I remove and reinsert the battery I have about a three second window before I get the black screen again. I removed the battery and right when I put it in I held the volume up, home, and then power keys. I see the screen start to change a split second before it goes back to black.
Does anyone know what could be causing this or what my options are? I am just over the one year warranty so i can not return the phone. I would like to troubleshoot it if possible, but I'm not quite sure where to start since I can't turn the phone on. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow night and I really need to have a phone. I have been trying to troubleshoot it since yesterday and I have had no luck.

Okay. Is there anywhere I can do to diagnose the hardware or I could take my phone to get it fixed and diagnosed? This is my first time having a phone stop working so I am not sure what to do since my warranty just expired last month.
One last thought before I suggest giving up. Is it possible the phone IS turning on (and staying on) but the screen is just not remaining on? Troubleshoot by turning on the phone until you briefly see the screen, then give it time to finish booting (if it really is on), then plug into PC to see if it is recognized by the computer? If so, then it's a screen issue.
Or, could it be the power button is wonky and is turning off the unit right after turn on?
I'm perplexed....

Neither my desktop nor my laptop can detect the phone. The only time the phone turns on is when i take out the battery and put it back in. It comes on for like 2-3 seconds with the samsung logo and then shuts off. I did that while it was connected to my computer and the computer didn't recognize it.
How could I determine if the issue is the power button before taking it to a CPR?

Not sure about access to button with back off or how to take apart. But, you could try to depress button and try to spray some electronic cleaner in it with the nozzle tube provided. Radio Shack has it if Best Buy doesn't. I doubt if that will work though. But, the spray comes in handy for me on occasion.

I took off the cover, and then removed the screws to take off the back of the phone. I held the power button from the inside of the phone and it still did not turn on. I used my friends battery that was at 80% charge to test it so it isn't the battery. I found this tutorial online for removing the power button which could solve the problem (assuming it is the power button) but i'm not sure if it is the power switch. Also the tutorial is for the S3 and not the S4. Not sure if I should attempt this or if there is anything else I should try.
I'd wait a bit and see if anyone that has actually replaced one chimes in. You could in meantime try the spray. Make sure it is electronics spray so it won't damage or gum up anything--like you said it may not even be the buttton--
good luck
At this point my thought is the button isn't the issue. The button itself seems to be working based on your description.
I'd say Cell Phone Repair or a similar place is your best shot. Good luck. Let us know how it works out!

Hello,
So yesterday i swapped the cracked screen of my brother's old Moto X Style to use is as a spare phone, but unfortunately i can't make the phone boot since i built it back together: If i plug a Micro USB cable, the screen turns on, showing a battery with the percentage, then vibrates and turn off. It also recognize if it's plugged in turbo charge or not. I've already fully charged the battery and reopened it to see if there were something missing/not plugged but i don't think so.I tried to hold Power for a very long time, same with power + Vol - and +. Nothing happens. Is there something to do? Is it dead? Obviously the smartphone has no warranty anymore. Thanks

Hello,
So yesterday i swapped the cracked screen of my brother's old Moto X Style to use is as a spare phone, but unfortunately i can't make the phone boot since i built it back together: If i plug a Micro USB cable, the screen turns on, showing a battery with the percentage, then vibrates and turn off. It also recognize if it's plugged in turbo charge or not. Hey man, no worries happened to me, there's a sticky type thing on the battery attached by a flex cable barely long enough. That might have come unplugged. There are tiny connectors, so check that. Pm me if you have any questions!
Checked that and is fine. Also the battery is most likely not dead (I charged it fully on Wednesday and it still a 98%)
