Trying to flash back to stock.....Model mismatch - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answers

I get model mismatch every single time, I have downloaded the right firmware.. Downloaded the one said to do 5 DIFFERENT ONES that are all essentially the same, I rooted succesffully, then tried to flash xposed and failed obv.
.."Stock-S7-EDGE-ATT_G935AATT2APG1.zip"
"AP_G935AUCS2APF2_CL7617530_QB9897831_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5"
Etc. Idk what to do anymore, stuck in download or recovery mode.

"Downloaded the one said to do 5 DIFFERENT ONES that are essentially the same," what does that mean? You downloaded the firmware zip file that had 5 seperate files in it, and they're all essentially the same? See how you quoted one of the files inside? Notice how it starts with "AP"? In odin, you click the AP button, then add that file in that AP slot. Then the one that starts with "BL" in the BL slot, and so on and so forth, until you have all 5 files in their respective slots. THEN you start the flashing process. Did you do that? If that didn't work, did you make sure the md5 number listed at the download screen match after you downloaded the zip file? Do you have an md5 checksum program on your computer? You can easily find a free one by doing a quick google search. You could also maybe try downloading and flashing a different/newer stock AT&T firmware.
As for xposed, you first need to download and install this version of the xposed apk from the xposed website: XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk
Then, if/when rooted find and flash this version of xposed framework in flashfire:
xposed-v85.1-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160530.zip
If you're not having any luck, and your phone is still stuck in download or recovery mode, you can still power it off for the time being using the following steps:
If it's in recovery mode, you'll have options listed, like "reboot system now," and, "power off device." You can toggle through each choice using the volume up and down buttons, and once you highlight the one you want, hit the power button to select it. You can go to "power off device" in recovery mode and turn your phone off for now if you don't want to have to worry about it. If your phone is in download mode, it'll either be at the warning screen where you can hit volume up to continue, or volume down to cancel and restart the phone. If it is all the way in download mode, it'll say "downloading... do not turn off target !!" If it is on the warning screen, just continue into into download mode. If it is in download mode already, or you just continued into download mode, and you want to turn the phone off, press and hold volume up, volume down, power, and home button and hold them all down at the same time until the phone shuts off. Immediately after, let go of all the buttons, and then press and hold the volume up, home, and power buttons until the phone comes back on, and in the top left corner, in blue, it'll say "Recovery booting." It is then that you let go of all the buttons. You will enter recovery there and be able to power the device off.
Anyway, I hope you already got it fixed, and if not, I hope this information helped. I'm not trying to be mean, but you really need to search through all of the forums, read everything, read people's comments for information on how to do these sort of things properly, and how to fix the problems. Rooting, installing custom roms and xposed is a little different on newer devices now. Mistakes can be much more costly now than they used to be, so unless you've read thoroughly on such processes, and/or have found a youtube video that helps and you're feeling confident about it, you might want to reconsider attempting to apply these kinds of changes to your phone. If you have any friends that are good at this stuff, maybe that would be another way as well. Anyway, best of luck to you.

Try Odin 3.12.3 or PrinceComsy version It work for me. My case was that I upgrade to the firmware 935u version bootloader v4 and I wanted go back to PH1 that the bootloader is v2. Make sure to do factory reset before do any flash with odin (I don't know if that matter but works for me). Hope this work for you.

What are you flashing FROM? From what you listed in the OP, you are trying to flash to APG1? What the device is on now could be on a newer firmware

If you are trying to flash the stock ROM and you are on different bootloaders you are going to run into issues. I THINK (and could be wrong), you may be on version 4 (based off of the "AP SWREV: B4(2,1,1,1,1) K1 S3") again, I'm not positive on my assumption here, but, if that's the case you need to flash a stock ROM that is on version 4 of the bootloaders, something like G935AUCS4API2 (BL4)

If you go into Recovery Mode, you should be able to see what ROM you are on. From there, I'd do a system wipe like xjimmy suggested, power off, boot to Download mode, and try to flash the ROM that has matching bootloader

So you are on V4 Bootloaders, and API2, which is the current stock release.
I would
Download the stock API2 ROM from HERE and put them all on your desktop
Open Odin
In Recovery mode, wipe the device
Restart the phone in Download Mode then plug the phone into the PC
Put the downloaded files to their slots in Odin, and hit start

THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH...

Yes I'm trying to flash the stock firmware but I flashed the rooted bootloader in Odin I think, lol so that may be why I'm having issues. Cause mine fails every single time for the att version and it's driving me nuts and I can't find any video tutorial on it at all, and smart switch won't work with the att one lol Dicks

Help - S4 WONT BOOT or enter RECOVERY!

Hello
My S4 (XUBMGA) wont boot, it kept crashing so i used Odin to fresh install the OS, but it wouldnt let me enter recovery mode after so then I googled and found this website which gave me steps to recover my OS via Odin and also re-partion the recovery mode via a PIT File.
Now my S4 wont boot (stays stuck on the Samsung 9505 logo) and when i try enter recovery the blue text 'Recovery Boot' or something stays there but it wont enter. The phone doesnt boot up but I can still enter download mode?
What can i do! Also im a newb at this so simple please
Thanks in advance!
Get a stock rom from Samfirmware, flash it with Odin. That's the only way you're fixing it. How ? Search.

BUMP
1) You absolutely do not bump threads after 25 minutes. This isn't your personal technical support hotline :-|
2) It makes no difference which firmware you use, as long as you use one for your specific model, tho I personally would use the latest one my carrier has released (if there was more than one). You may prefer to use an unbranded one for your country if there is one (I have no idea if there is/isn't one of these for the UK).
If you want to fix this, it's going to take a bit of effort on your part, we can't do it for you.
Edit - You really need to learn 'the basics' (people need to do this before they start messing with their phones, not after they bork them). Once you've fixed it, read the Stickies before you bork it permanently.

I have and am trying. Im new to Samsung, just moved after years of iPhone, hence though rooting would be similar to jailbreaking the iPhone.
Ive tried multiple ROMs now using Odin 3.07, it says it passes etc but the phone stays on the Samsung Galaxy S4 logo, it doesnt still let me enter recovery mode, but allowss me to get into download mode.
Any advice? Thanks
Download the last Twrp recovery(tar format) for your phone from their website flash it with odin 3.07
Noticeut your tar file with PDA
uncheck the reboot box.let only the reset box checked.
Don't check for any reason the partition case.
GO to download mode with your phone:hold down volume+power+home
After volume +button to continue
You are now on the download mode.connect your phone to your computer
If the box in the left corner become blue .it ok
If in the message box you see "added".it ok
Now press the start (the button to begin the process)
Wait till you will see PASSED in the left upper case.(take around 2min)
Unplung your phone,remove the battery.
Reput the battery and swicht on your phone :hold hight volume+home+power
2nd notice:when you see the samsung logo appear for the first time and going, remove your hand and you will see the beautiful twrp interface.
By the way,you should already have download SuperSu 1.51 and put that somewhere In your extsd card.
Go to install(always in the twrp recovery)
And select the Super su 1.51 or 1.41,cause they are stable)(you know the path where you will put the SuperSu app)
Installation succefull.touch the reboot button on the interface .your phone will reboot and you will see this mesage "Android upgrading"
Ok.i think you have understood.

Tried FlashFire twice , no good...

I have a S4, I337 AT&T device and I think I bricked it by trying to install TWRP, it didn't work... I was trying Muniz_ri's "Update to i337 ok2 5.0.1 and keep root", I couldn't get the Flashfire to load, lots of stuff about rooting and no Supersu something... Any help..?
If you i337 is not on mdl or mdb bootloader you can not install TWRP.
If you phone is brick how could you install the flash fire?
Flashfire works well with stock rom. Are you on custom rom?
In note section of the muniz_is post , the #4 stated that "4. If you are not already rooted (or to unbrick) you must first flash the I337UCUFNB1_Rootable_Full_Odin.tar (use Odin's PDA slot (AP in Odin v3.09+), root with Towelroot, then proceed with the above process." . Did you follow that step?

I'm on 5.0.1 Lollipop, the second one From Aug 11 OTA by the seller I bought it from.... I was new to android and didn't know there was a download mode....
The baseband version is: I think it is called I337OCOG0C4... It is the stock rom that came on the phone.... I can't find the stock ROM to redo it( try to at least...) It's on 0C4... I AM rooted , by Kingroot... Verification says so.... Two different versifiers... When I go to flash..., it comes up with that message... I tried removing Busy box and reinstalling it... it was ok... I reinstalled Safestrap .... It loaded fine...
When I got to NC1 flash..., it says it can't see busy box or safestrap, either one might have a problem... They both loaded fine..... I tried flashing the Tar from above... Odin just sat there and finally said fail... twice.... I think the corruption is hurting the ability to enter recovery on the phone.... I can't enter "Recovery Mode" on the phone... It is damaged.... I thought flashing could do it...

If you followed Muniz_is instruction step by step I don't think you should have a problem.
I used SS (safestrap) when I was in kit-kat alot but not anymore. It is tricky to use SS in lollipop. So I can not give you any comment on using SS. I use flashfire app instead.
So every time I want to install the custom rom, I followed Muniz_is instructions. Odin the NB1, use towelroot to root, install flashfire and flash the rooted OC4, install flashfire again and then flash the custom rom.
Muniz_is post is updated to OK2 but I am still using the OC4 files that posted previously. If you want to stay on OC4 do let me know.
What do you mean you can not enter recovery mode? I am sure you know the key sequence (press power+home+volume up) for recovery mode. If your phone is bricked, then you need to press the same keys for at least 10 sec and then let the power button go but keep pressing the home+volume-up until you felt the phone vibrate and see the small blue label at the top of the screen.
To use the odin you have to be in the download mode. To get to the download mode you need to press power+home+volume-down.

Your recovery mode probably works fine.... Mine is corrupt... You must use Recovery mode in Odin... I tried... Failed twice... Tried 4 other .tar's.... No good... A FAIL for each... I guess you have to have Recovery Mode just to allow the device to do anything... I DO appreciate you guys and ALL of your efforts ...... Maybe we could put my device on Android Studio and look at what is hurting it... I'd love that....
I had got myself into same mess in early January 2016 but I got out and all is working perfectly fine with me. Can you successfully get your i337 into download mode? if YES contact me via PM and I can tell you exact steps I performed to get myself back into fully working condition. Believe me it's simple steps not rocket science - just that one needs to perform very carefully.
To get to the download mode you need to press power+home+volume-down.

Neither device will boot into Recovery mode... It gives 5 or 6 lines of stuff..., then freezes up... I can release it to use the phone... I'd like to try using Android Studio to see what can be done...
Isn't there a "Format" system and re-installation plan I can use..., like doing a computers hard drive..?
Recovery mode is different - it is WAY different - it will never boot into that mode as memory is messed up with wrong code.
I AM ASKING YOU TO GET IT INTO DOWNLOAD MODE - to get into download mode - the messed code is not executed....Try to get into DOWNLOAD MODE - i am 100% sure - it will go into download mode....It should....

I have told you....." I pressed up vol, home and start at the same time... That should have started Recovery Mode... It didn't... It froze up at the little green man screen...."
MY DOWNLOAD MODE IS CORRUPT..... I can't figure another way around this....
If someone knew how to view the devices program on Android Studio..., MAYBE something could be done with the programming.... I'm not sure if a "Cut and Paste " would work on there... I guess I need to get a book on Android Studio... I already have it ( Android Studio SDK ) on my computer....
Any one here can tell me how to run it..?
Ok.
can you tell me what exactly happens when you press power+home+volume-down?
How did u arrive to conclusion that your download mode is corrupted?

It froze up.... It stopped moving foward to the lower potion of the Recovery program.... At the bottom..., you can choose the different ways to manipulate the program... Mine, both phone stop at the processing sign in....
It will require something more than a few buttons being pressed.... I'll have to learn to use the Android Studio and either rebuild the program from within or to reprogram it from outside..., like with a .tar flash....

I reflashed an At&t .pit file ( using Odin) and it rebuilt my file ( partition) for Recovery mode... Not sure how it did it... Now when I CAN get into recovery mode..., it doesn't recognize the SD card so I can't use the tools in Recovery mode to change the rom to something earlier, like Muniz_ri did in one of his wonderful fixes... (Double thanks Muniz_ri..)
Once Odin sees my device..., I set it up yo start a Muniz_ri renewing rom ( I337UCUFNB1_TWROOTABLE_FULL_ODIN.tar.md5 ) and it gets to "system.img.ext4" about 10% into it and then it freezes up....
Anyone have any ideas..?
If u are able to get to download mode - I strongly recommend first you flash ONLY Stock Partition file.
Then again reboot in download mode and then try the FNB1 file....this may work...but before all this flash proper pit file - refer to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2496517
stock partition file(s) are available on xda - search and download....

Was rooted now I'm on stock

Recently had my s7 edge rooted with the guide that says root and knox still good.
Just used the part of the guide where it says unroot I'm back on stock firmware but now I can't take an Ota it fails and I can't use samsung pay. I was wondering if I did something wrong or there is a step in missed and need to do ?
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
You have to Odin a stock firmware.
That's what I did
What does Settings - About phone - Status - "Phone status" say? It should say "Official".
Also booting to Download Mode (phone off, hold Power/Vol Down/Home at same time, then press Vol Up when prompted) to confirm that "System Status" should read "Samsung Official" or "Official".
You can also install this app, KNOX Status Samsung, and it'll tell you your Knox Status.
If Knox is not valid, you will not be able to use Samsung Pay, and once Knox is tripped, there is no undoing that.
Only reason I can't be on root either is because even with all the power saving functions I've had enabled through root, it didn't have as good battery saving as stock unrooted.
But yeah, try to make sure you didn't do something to trip KNOX.
Yeah that's the odd thing I downloaded the knox checker and it says the warranty is valid

I'm not seeing anything in the Verizon Root Guide w/ Knox Good where it says anything about unrooting, so I assume you flashed the official phone firmware via ODIN? What version firmware did you flash? Did you get the stock firmware files from this thread here?
My apologies this was the thread that I used for unroot

Does your baseband version match your build number? You only need to look at the last 3 digits. If they don't match then you flashed the wrong update file onto your phone.

Here you go this might work I found this on the regular s7 forum........
For those of you who want to go back to stock and are having trouble with any updates i have found a fix.
(only do this if u want to go 100% back to stock and want to update to current software and future updated software. If u want to stay on PG2 software and never update, then ignore this post)
In the instructions on how to flash back to stock, the OP only included 3 files u had to flash using Odin (AP, CP and CSC). follow those steps up to the point where everything is flashed back to stock and your phone has rebooted to home screen. After that, power off your phone and restart to download screen (hold home, power button and volume down at same time)
once u are booted to the download mode screen, open odin and select BL and find the BL file that came with your stock folder. Once its loaded, hit start and let Odin flash it. Your phone will reboot and you will be able to update your phone to any new software released.
I had a problem trying to update to PG1 after reflashing to stock. My update would crash at 32%. This will fix that issue.

900V stuck in bootloop after FW upgrade

My Father-in-law tried updating the firmware on my wife's SM-G900V and now it's stuck in a boot loop. I am able to get it into download mode and recovery (I've cleaned the cache and factory reset it dozens of times), and I have been able to flash the latest marshmallow and lollipop images using Odin (passes with no issues), but it's still stuck in the boot loop.
When I get home from work tonight my plan is to try some of the "debricking" and or "rooting" guides I've found on this site:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...images-hardbrick-recovery-plan-t3387010/page1
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve.../testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529
Should one of these do the trick, or will I be wasting my time and should be trying something else? Thanks in advance for your advice/help!

I have not tried the first method so I cannot say if it will work for a stock debrick. If you are going to use that, make sure the phone is on a PB1/PD1 firmware.
The second one is rooting the phone. I have usedthis one with both CIDs and have had no issues. Since the phone wont boot, you might not be able to locate the CID, so please read the following thread before starting:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/help/to-id-cid-15-loading-app-t3756413
UPDATE: Also, Here is a link to a firmware with the pit file:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...rmware-pit-verizon-samsung-galaxy-s5-t3757416
You may want to try that first before doing the other ones. Having a pit file during the firmware install sometimes helps to fix it.
Try it, see if it works, if you have any more issues, let me know.
Good Luck!
Thanks for the quick reply!
I updated the pit file and didn't get any errors from Odin. I think the issue I'm stuck with is I don't know what original firmware was on here, so I randomly pick on of the many available ones (like I mentioned previously, I've tried Lollipop and Marshmallow). This time I tried this one:
G900VVRU2BPB1_G900VVZW2BPB1_G900VVRU2BPB1_HOME.tar
The phone actually boots up and I hear the music of it booting up, but the screen doesn't come one. I can still get to recovery and download mode (but I can't see what I'm doing). Is this a matter of just working my way through the list of firmwares until I find the one that works?
Thanks again

It depends on which firmware I flash it with.....usually I get the logo as it's in the bootloop. The only change was when I used that PB1 firmware and it actually booted, minus the screen....

Try going into Download/Odin Mode and (first grab some binoculars LOL!) take a look at the top (small letter) information and (you may want to write it down) see what the device information states there.
It just seems as though you may have a specific variant of the S5 that may have been unlocked and flashed to the one you believe that you have...
... OR you are correct with the Variant but, are trying to flash the wrong Firmware Version (one of the previous releases) and the device is preventing it.
I think that it may be the first assumption but, I could be wrong...

Product name is correct.
I'd flash this one: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=818070582850486654
It's the latest firmware with full-wipe.
The first boot should take 12-15 min.
If the phone does not boot within 20 min. it will mean a hardware problem.

i already tried a 3 different odin versions and adroid 6.0, 7.0 and 8.01 Stock Rom for SM-T580 but no luck so far.
another problem is my friend does not know what the android version he was on before that hapend - and the tablet has Samsung FRP on.
maybe some of the experts here have an advice what i can try otherwise this tab a is really bricked - furthermore i wonder how this could happen as my friend swears he did not try to put twrp or anything else onto the tablet ....
Have you tried flashing TWRP using ODIN? (AP Slot)
i do not know if flashing twrp is a good idea as i do not know if oem unlock is enabled - and as it does not boot up i cannot switch it on in developer options

Wouldn't it simply fail if OEM unlocking was disabled? I don't know honestly. I'd try it if no other solutions come up.

I think you are going about it wrong. Instead of booting to download mode, try booting to recovery mode via Home, Vol Up and Power and then selecting Factory Reset. This is always necessary before you can use download to flash a ROM via Odin and it might make using Odin unnecessary.
of course i tried to get into receovery mode but the problem is i can't - when i do home, vol up and power absolutely nothing happens, i only get into download mode
edit: i believe FRP is the Problem this prevents odin from writing the files to the tablet - as it allways times out with :
Complete(Write) operation failed.

what i do not really understand is why FRP does not let odin flash an original samsung firmware ?
[QUOTE what i do not really understand is why FRP does not let odin flash an original samsung firmware ?[/QUOTE]
This sounds more like a binary issue. I have reason to believe you are what's called an FRP Binary Lock. Recovery is usually inaccessable or re-routed and you cannot "seem" to use Odin3 but in fact you can. This issue you apparently are having sounds oddly like some issues I've had on these devices and is often a result of bad Rooting or invalid firmware being installed. This overloads the binaries and puts the device in a locked mode with symptoms of an inaccessible Recovery a difficult to use Odin3 or a bootloop. Most of the time I hear of a notification somewhere of an FRP lock. If this is the situation you are in here is a link to a page of mine that will give you the files to helpfully solve your issue. Let me know if that works or not.

The situation I was suspecting is a "Custom Binaries are Blocked by FRP Lock" to which you would have seen a notification of it in one of 4 ways. Your situation is somewhat similar because you cannot access Recovey and although Download Mode is accessable it appears useless. Your device is not Bricked. A bricked device is unusable in any way and these days most devices can be restored.
You do seem to be having some difficulties that are usually common with binary issues. You can in fact use Odin3 but how is the question. Usually one can flash in the Stock firmware and that returns the device to normal. When it becomes impossible to flash in stock firmware or anything else it seems, to my experiance has always been a Binary issue. I will provide a link to the 4File Official firmware. And instructions for you to properly use it for your needs.
SM-T580 Official Stock Firmware 4Files
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1zvhwUfSRW44V1ZwEsHLRvlh-T0M79ks9
I'll assume you know something about using Odin3. Unzip the file to your desktop. There are 4 files but you'll only use 3 of them. You can use the patched version of Odin3.13B or you can use Odin3.14. Place the files in their respective places. BL, and AP are easy enough to see where they go. Now there is a file labeled CSC and one labeled HOME CSC. You will only use one of them. The CSC file returns your app data to factory settings (it erases everything). The Home CSC file keeps the app data. So it's your choice which one you choose. These are Official Firmware Files so you should be able to flash them in. Should that not work for you my most likely answer would be that your binaries are the issue and that is why you can't as of yet use Odin sucessfully. Does Odin even try to initiate a flash then stalls or does it do nothing altogether?
There are two different Binary files for the SM-T580 that I have. I would suggest using the Binary 4 FRP first. f I recall correctly the Odin3.13B patched version was made for this. Place the file in the AP section and try flashing it. You should get a few gears on the screen turning if it applied, or maybe not. If that fails use the U4 Binary Unlock file. It is only after you flash in the binary files that you can then install the Stock Firmware. It is the overloaded binaries that prevent the use of Odin as you may be experiancing. I am also including the Knox cleaner in case you need to reset it.
SM-T580 Binary files:
Binary 4 FRP Unlock

U4 Binaries. This is two files. Flash one at a time using the AP section. They are labeled 1rst or 2nd

Only if they could get into Recovery they may be able to reset it.
I have never once needed to go to Recovery to do "anything" before using Odin3 to flash.
The only time I've had to go there (repetedly) and reset was when trying to get past FRP Google Account Protection. Sometimes it takes out the page I want to get to and I need to reset it to get to it again. This is "not" always neccesary before flashing a ROM which rewrites the device programing.
sorry for double post
