Anyone enable the Qualcomm Izat location estimation? - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I have 2 questions.
Does it enhance our location accuracy?
Does it use more battery than its worth?
TIA
Al

Have it turned on...doesn't seem to increase battery use certainly. Screen off the v20 sips battery.

I always use it so I couldn't tell you what the difference is. I guess I always assumed that it was a good thing ?

I turned it on because it sounded clear. Don't know if I'm better or worse off for it.

Monitoring phone temperature with extended battery?

So I finally bit the bullet and purchased two Galilio 2000mah batteries from ebay and currently have been quite pleased, however, I use the battery monitor widget found in the marketplace and I have found that it is not correctly displaying the temperature. It is always stuck at 77.3 F. Using stock battery I am able to get a accurate temperature.
I like to be able to get a temp reading so I can stop using the phone if it gets too hot.
Any ideas why this is happening and/or recommendation for one that will work?

BatteryTime Lite seems to report accurate temperatures for me and my Sprint OEM Extended battery.
I use battery left widget its dead on! It just takes awhile to calibrate but it works.. check it out!

Unfortunately, neither of these programs worked for me. They did the same thing as Battery Monitor Widget. Showing a constant 77.3 F. Any other ideas/suggestions?

Yep... cheap battery is cheap! I am betting it doesn't have a temp sensor....
Setcpu works for me but I don't have one of the budget batteries

I think a good app for estimated battery would be juiceplotter. Its in the market. I use that and its pretty accurate, but sometimes its off.
If battery monitor widget doesn't work... nothing is going to. They all get the measurements from the same place.
Yeah, I thought so, just was hoping for a different answer. Oh well, life will go on. Some how.

Same here, cheap '2000mah Galilio' batteries from eBay always read 25 deg Celsius.

You're going to be okay just by feeling the phone. If it gets hot to the touch, shut it off or take it out of your pocket. It's a waste of space having battery temperatures displayed if you ask me, unless you're way overclocked or running Snap.

Snapdragon BatteryGuru

What do you guys think? I ordinarily wouldn't install a battery program, but given this is made my Qualcomm themselves for the Snapdragon...could be worth it.
I don't think it will do any different than other "battery savers".
Wrong section. @wedgess

Takes several days for it to "learn" your habits, but the savings is quite marginal. You can achieve the same results by modifying settings yourself. The tool is more geared towards the general public who isn't interested in learning enough about their own specific devices to save battery life themselves.
It made it worse for me, using extra location says
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
I used it for a few weeks, thought I'd give it a chance.
Only thing I really noticed it doing was toggling wifi based on location, which was more of an annoyance than a convenience.
Besides, if I wanted that I'd use Tasker or AutomateIt.
I used Greenify and Battery Guru for a while and uninstalled it about 3 weeks ago and battery life has been better. These programs consume more cpu cycles than they actually save if you ask me.
Sent from my Nexus 5
Yeah the only thing that did for me was turn off WiFi. It seemed completely random, too. Wasn't based on location because I'd be at my house all day and it would just turn off WiFi on its own several times a day. I went through the options and selected for the app to not toggle WiFi within 6 hours of my manually changing it, but it would still happen. It was telling me it was saving like 20% battery, but my cycles were actually longer as soon as I uninstalled it. Garbage. Just another app by them to advertise their processors if you ask me. Just like their benchmark app. I get craaaaazy high scores on that one. But I'm sure all Qualcomm chips will, too.
There is no miracle in saving battery. Greenify is the best one.

High Battery Use by Android System

I am on Stock 4.4.2 for the D800 and Android System seems to be abnormally high. On the battery usage page Cell stand by is at 34% Android System 30%, screen 20%, and Phone Idle at 6%. Is this normal? Im sure i never had Android system that high before
That's normal. Disable double tap to wake and you'll see a huge difference. Anyway battery is nevertheless great and disabling that feature isn't worth it as the power button us difficult to reach on the back of the phone.

Thats the thing though, i do have a lot of those features turned off. My double tap to wake up is turned off so i would imagine that i should not be getting a load that high
If Knock On is off then you should not get that load indeed. I assume you already I installed a wakelock detector. I am afraid I don't have much other idea.

IMHO battery is working better on cyanogenmod than stock.:good:

I think i do know the issue. I use All Access pass from Google and there is just a bunch of problems with that and 4.4.2, so if i had to guess it would be that.

Thats what i heard, im thinking about it but i want them to hit a stable build on kitkat before i try it
I use All Access as well and the drain on the battery isn't much different from Spotify and the likes. I tried CM and other Rom but back to stock because none of them was really stable. (occasional reboots)

Yeah, but since there are issues with All Access and 4.4.2 on all platforms i think thats the issue. Im still not sure what the Android System usage is going towards, but i think it may be Facebook issue. I'm not 100% sure though still testing. I dont even have have that many apps installed.

[Snapdragon batteryguru vs Stamina mode]

Dose anyone use snapdragon batteryguru?
Or stay with default function, namely stamina mode?
Or both together?
I just installed yesterday and it is on the way learning.
So, if some of you have already tried some combination of those, I am appreciate it in giving me feedback.
Also, I will give you feedback after testing.
Best regards,

I have used batteryguru before didn't notice much improvement and from what the app was saying the apps you don't use often it stops them pushing the notifications etc until you load the app however I was still having notifications coming from all the apps on my phone. Your milage may vary though depending on what you use your phone for.
I was using JuiceDefender until I've been told that it doesn't do me any good. I thought it was a pretty nifty app for its functionality to enable and disable Wi-Fi and mobile data when I need it or not...

I have been used for 1 month. I guess batteryguru did not help me much. So, I just uninstall it.

I also had tried it on my HTC Butterfly (Global version of Droid DNA) and my LG G2, noticed no improvement in battery life.
Also, I just recognize that battery recharge time longer when I used it.

I think is better to use both

Why would you think, that JuiceDefender does not do any good?
I use it and actually have very good results with it...

Well, peers have told me:
1. Battery saving apps are pointless with how advance Android is nowadays. Also especially since Sony has already included enough battery saving software in their devices.
2. The battery saving app keeps running, so that itself drains the battery.
What do you think?

1 is correct
2 is partially correct, depends on which power saving app, I didn't notice any real drain from Battery Guru, though it didn't help increase it either.
I've never used Battery Guru before, but I think I'd rather purchase Tasker to do the job of location based Wi-Fi for my phone.
Would it drain battery or such if I have that act like juice defender/battery guru instead?
Sent from my D6708
Ive used battery guru for a while, but looks like it doesnt do much. So i uninstall it already.
With the latest version of Stamina I can't really see what BatteryGuru can do to further improve things.
The Z3 effectively turns just about everything off in standby if you ask it to, firing up when you start using the phone. Battery Guru attempts to learn your usage, so it will still allow data at certain times and restrict completely at others.
I'm very happy with Stamina and uninstalled Battery Guru some time ago. I still have it on some other devices tough, especially anything that doesn't have any native power saving functions.
I do wonder how Sony is going to combine Stamina with the Lollipop battery saver, which is a simple on or off - along with the horrid orange bars. That's very much all or nothing with far less intelligence, so maybe Sony will not use that at all.

Fix CPU throttling at low battery

To clear something right off the bat; I do know why the CPU throttles when the battery is low which is to save power.
But what if I don't want my Axon 7 to start slowing down at 40%( it used to slow down at 30% before the oreo update)?
There is no toggle in the power management to just turn off power saving mode altogether since it only allows you to adjust policies for single apps.
I really need to know if there is a method (Without Root) that would allow the phone to run the CPU without throttling it when the battery is low provided I toggle the necessary setting.
It's not for saving power but to prevent early shutdown on a degraded battery.

I see, thanks for the clarification. But can you think of any ways where I can stop this behaviour? Because I know my phone can run smoother for longer than it does now.
It may only be disabled with root mods. For more background search for the thread about BCL. In any case the effect is the sign of a degraded battery when it happens at higher percentages, time to replace that battery soon.

Haha I didn't wanna accept it. Thanks for giving a definitive solution. I'm scared cause I've never done it before but I'll only do it when it's unavoidable, cause I can still use the phone just fine on one charge in a day.
Thanks for your help!
