I have the same problem. When running an app in background e.g. FM Radio the P8 does not go into standby. But thats not a satisfying solution

Hello friends,
The story is this: I got a P9 Lite a couple of months ago. I just used it one day and left it to discharge. Then 2 months later (or more) I decided to use the device. Tried to power it off but it didnt even vibrate. No power. So I plugged it in, and only after around 15 minutes it showed the charging screen and the red light was blinking. I left it to charge 100%.
Right after, I upgraded to Nougat. Originally my phone was MM V31C185B360.
What I have noticed is that the phone loses 15 to 20 % over night and no wifi nor data are activated. I tried other roms like elite rom (v4 & v5) but same problem.
WHat do you think ? is it a battery problem or just android problem ? and is it possible to dowgrade to MM ? I heard that the B360 is a beta !!!
Thaaannnkkksss in advance
Problem solved for me. When I set the network to "GSM only", the battery didnt lose even 1% at night (about 7 hours sleep). But when I set it to wcdm/gsm or lte/wcdma/gsm, the battery drains fast, i lose about 15% during 7 hours sleep. Now I have to set the network to GSM only everytime i do not use mobile data. Quite frustrating, but oh well it works.
Hope this helps

It is supposed to work that way i think .. my guess goes as this : the Mate 10 Lite is equipped with a Li-Ion battery .. and i read that this type of batteries can fail to boot up the device after a few full discharges .. not really sure why but that's the best guess for why the phone is designed to switch itself off automatically on 2% to prevent any kind of "battery failing" .. and btw mine does the same thing so it's not just you

Thank you for the reply.. relieved to know that its not an issue and it does this with everyone's mobile .
I also think its a kind of emergency feature, so there is still alittle battery left if you need to call the police or an ambulance.
Hi guys, I am using a j5 2017 but it.s very strange battery drains quite fast in comparison with the old phone. I see strange drain at Cell standby and device idle. I will post some photos, I don.t understand why it drains battery for staying idle. Thanks very much, help is appreciated. Cheers.
PS: j5 is brand new, 1day old... Is this hardware failure? Although i.ve read others are complaining same problem.

That's normal man. 48% of screen because you use phone and 12% cell phone is about one longer call. It holds about day so it's okay. If you want to push it longer just root it and install custom rom + grenify
Thanks for answer
Hi folks,I am using samsung j5-00f model.
I am facing the following problems
1.mobile not charging (although it shows charging)
2.As I was saying "It shows charging".. it behaves strange.. it controls iself
...now as I remove/unplug the cable .. it still behaves strange(controls itself)...( untill I restart the device)
3.I have formatted the mobile... yet not charging
4.I have tested with a new battery ( yet it just shows charging but it doesn't) .. confirms that battery works good
5.tried different cables and chargers ( includuing original and trubo )
someone please help me ... I recently have had my mobile motherboard changed ... so I am kinda worried if that
happens again .... ( please let me know how far would this issue cost go if I submit it to a service centre...
do I really have to change its motherboard or might it just get fixed by changing the connector or port or ic
something like that..) ... additionally, using an extenal battery charger I came to know that the battery is working
fine...
update : its been a month and the service center guy keeps postponing ... says ic is not available
please help me ... Thanks in advance...
Hi
I swithched from my old galaxy j7 2016 on nougat to a used s7 edge. Now my battery drains wery fast even if my phone is on medinum power saving mode and i have my screen turned off and just listening to Spotify.
My school break is almost over and i dont know if my phone s battery will last until i come home. Before when i went to school at 6.00 AM and came home 3.00PM and i still had 45-60% of battery left and now i dont know if i will even have 15% on charge when i ll come home. I lose my battery charge fast when phone is in sleep mode. I tried a factory reset and it helped a bit but i still lose battery fast. I think its a software problem and i need a new ROM. Im currently on full stock recovery and stock 8.0 oreo rom. Does anyone know any good battery life ROMs. Maybe i ll go to a store and ask if they can help me but my phone just lost my warranty last month, but they ll probably just offer me a new battery replacement and i think that wont solve my problem. Help me please:crying:

Install custom ROM...i suggest you to install BatMan ROM v1.5
I have created a video on youtube (just search for "26 days standby time")
if you follow those steps...your battery can last for upto 26 days and battery will drain way too slowly
will definitely work if you're not a fan of social media...Read description fully (if you have never rooted your phone)
I have the above mentioned phone, i have tried just about every rom i can find for this device but i keep having battery issues, i have replaced the battery but still have issues, battery will say 70% then switch off and when i plug it in it is flat.
Also if i switch it off at night when 100% it will be around 50% when i switch it on.
Any help would be great or if anyone could suggest the best rom including link to it
Thanks
I had the nearly same issues with a P9 Lite (but not so badly). I think they are just old. Maybe you could try stock or a modified stock, if you didnt did this before
You can try recalibrating the battery, android might not read it correctly
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/guide-how-to-callibrate-battery-device-t3308554
Also I have a water damaged Nokia 6 that does exactly what you describied so this could be a hardware issue, maybe not with the battery itself.
