2015 Huawei p8 Lite issue, help needed ASAP - P8lite Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the above mentioned phone, i have tried just about every rom i can find for this device but i keep having battery issues, i have replaced the battery but still have issues, battery will say 70% then switch off and when i plug it in it is flat.
Also if i switch it off at night when 100% it will be around 50% when i switch it on.
Any help would be great or if anyone could suggest the best rom including link to it
Thanks

I had the nearly same issues with a P9 Lite (but not so badly). I think they are just old. Maybe you could try stock or a modified stock, if you didnt did this before

You can try recalibrating the battery, android might not read it correctly

Also I have a water damaged Nokia 6 that does exactly what you describied so this could be a hardware issue, maybe not with the battery itself.

MDA Pro - Phone/Radio cutout at 70% battery

First off, I have seen many threads on the MDA PRO (and all its variants) cutting out at high battery power levels and from what I can see there doesn't seem to be any concrete resolution. But here is my situation.
I bought a new sealed MDA Pro and immedialy flasshed to the latest T-Mobile rom. Thats where the problems began. I seem to be plagued by the MDA cutoff at 60-70% problem.
The way it manifests is the radion loses signal and cannot locate the carrier at or below 70%. At this stage a reset of the device and it reboots but as soon as you use the phone or wifi it crashes .. black screen.
As with others if I connect the USB cable and charge by PC or mains everything returns to normal. Not a very mobile solution!!
I have tried every variant of ROM out there and the problem remains. I have charged the battery for 16 hours etc etc. I have tried phone in Auto, GSM modes .. same problem :!:
The only thing I haven't done yet is buy a new battery and hence my post.
Will the purchase of a new battery solve the problem? As with other threads it would seem this came along with the latest roms. Does flashing a ROM when the battery is less than fully charged cause problems?
On a final note, if after the radio loses signal it is turned off I have been able to run the device down to 20% running videos and MP3. Is this a probem with radio levels above1.09.00 (Just thinking out loud)
HELP: This device is perfect for my daily use and having purchased a less than mobile device I am now close to getting rid .. but I dont want to
Any advice greatly appreciated... expecially from those who have fixed the problem.
I had this problem and a new battery fixed it.
Thanks. Look slike a new battery
There seems to be different speculations on what causes the battery problem on the Universal: the power charge cable quality theory, one idea about the battery level stored inside the batter which some claimed to registry heck could change and another idea about the battery 500 charges limitations.
But if yours is brand new, then none of the above applies... So the refresh to a new Rom definately must have something to do with it. Wonder anybody who had bought a new replacement battery after the power drop had done another rom refresh and whether the same problem returns?
I have just bought a replacement battery (1800m Ah at standard size by MoMax which gives me another 30% more power everyday which is something good I got from paying for a new battery) yesterday to change the old one out for the same reason. Looks like until someone found the real cause, I am keeping the old one for my next rom refresh...
New Battery ... problem resolved.

[Q] battery immediately drops down after.....

i've read about similar topics, but i think i did not found answers...
i've been aware that x2's battery drains fast. i had lots of bad experience with this problem so i decided to buy a new spare battery. to describe my problem, here is the scenario.
1. i fully charge my new battery
2. i remove my new battery to charge my old battery
3. after my old battery is full, i remove it to use my new battery (which was fully charged 4 hours ago)
4. after turning on the phone, it reports (immediately) BATTERY IS LOW.
5. i scratch my head why, replace it with the old battery instead, turn it on, and reports LOW BATTERY also.
i think this is a phone problem and not a battery problem. what do you think? why do i also encounter same problem with my brand new battery?
please help. thank you...
this is a new problem i encountered after reformatting my phone...
did u try flash to another firmware?
I had similiar problem as u when was using firmware Genenic_sg, flashed to Generic_en then its gone
by trial and error...
by trial and error, i found the solution... (once my main battery runs out of life, i do this steps...)
i let my spare battery stay on the phone for about 10 seconds before turning it on... (something like at least, the phone will recognize the life of the newly inserted battery)...
there are occasional times however, when the battery meter will still say low battery life even if i already had the battery stay before turning it on... so what i do is just turn it off again, remove the battery for few seconds, reinsert it immediatelt, and turn my phone again... and voila! it's finally recognized as 100%.

Charge and battery life problems

Hey there i have a HTC Legend running cyanogenmod 7.0.2.The problem is that i can't charge my phone to 100% it usually charges to 65% and it drains very fast but i noticed that i stays on 3% for +- 8 hours with extensive use.I thought that my battery wasn't good anymore but yesterday i tried putting my battery in my friends htc legend and it showed 83% while it showed 13% on mine so i put the battery to charge on my friends phone till it charged to 100%(that means that the battery's still good)but when i reinserted the battery in my phone it showed 65% just like when i charge the battery in my phone.I thought that i could try calibrating my battery but the phone doesn't charge to 100%.I was running blay0's b0.8.4 rom before this cm7 rom and had the same issue.
Any suggestions how i can fix this.

turn off your phone, plug it all night long then restart in cwm recovery and do "wipe battery stats" ( or something like that in advanced)
restart and see
I have already tried that i have turned the phone off and left it to charge for two and a half days long without disconnecting the charger but the light still didn't turn green. This is really annoying cause the battery drains fast and when its less than 15% the orange light turns on which i don't like to see
I have the same problem with my Legend since I update from stock 2.1 to 2.2.Actualy because of this I root my Legend then i can calibrate it but nothink seams to help. After all night charging the led is still red and when i start it up it shows 75% and go down fast.(1 hour or so can bring it to 5% easily). After when i switch it off and take out battery for few second and put it back it come back to about 55%.actualy the same problem as you have.
I just live with it....i trayed every calibration method and app. and nothink helps.
On another forum one guy told me then it probably need to be recalibrated in factory because i dont have the right tools for it.
I dont think then HTC will do that for me specialy after i root it.
If you find solution please let as know.thanks

Then unroot it, install your carrier's firmware just the way it came with on the phone, and send it back. I would imagine it be hard for them to tell that you've rooted it.
Or just before you do so, check if the battery's still messing around before you send it back.
I have two battery's and the problem is the same with both of them.If is true then they can not understand i will give a tray...i think then this is the first think they will look it at just to tell me f**k you..hahaha
I' ve the same problem with stock legend 2.2. How can we do?help!

So this is what i tried i drained my battery completely till i had 1% of charge then i put it to charge while the phone was still on and it has been on charge for two days and i see that the phone has charged to 76% usually it would charge to 65% so maybe if i leave it for a couple of days on charge i could get a full 100% charge. So that is my last hope unless you guys find something else.
I will post back if it works for me
BTW couldn't it be a kernel problem??
All I know then the problem started when I update from 2.1 to 2.2 stock rom.so my theory is then when you flash new rom the process take some time and energy from battery and when the process is finish the system take current battery state as full which is not true because of used energy from flashing process. So maybe providing DC power with the same voltage as fully charged battery when flashing new rom may fix it.I maybe wrong but in theory it may work.what you think?
I have 2.2 since release date, and the problem is present since one month, after about 6 months 'hotspot mode' for home internet.i think is a battery problem (charge and navigate at same time for 2 hours for day)but this thread show that is a common problem!

i'm having the same kind of trouble for the past 2 months. no matter what i've tried nothing happenned. i'm running custom 2.2 , without rooting or so and charging level stops at 71-75%. drops down relatively quickly until 15% and easily can stay with 3% for over than 5 hours.... htc suggested to run a factory reset, but even this didn't help. if someone finds a solution it would be ...LEGEND...
The phone is actualy charging the battery correctly,i find that out with the multimeter.I measure the battery voltage after all night charge and even then in the phone it shows 75% and voltage 3.950 with multimether i find out then voltage of the battery is 4.220.So thats mean then phone is charging correctly just the indicator(software)doez not interpret it it right.Still is anoying to look at red led after 1-2hours of use.
I have S-ON so maybe even if the calibration app.say after i tray to calibrating then batterystats.bin is deleted it maybe not true becouse of S-ON.
Do you guys with this problem have S-OFF or S-ON?
Maybe is not related to S-OFF or S-ON but who knows...
Maybe if we charge the battery till its full and testing it like pirate81 said with a multimeter and then flash a new rom maybe that could fix it has anyone tried this??
I start to think then XDA developers forum is useless...i post my problem hier to get help from people(xda developers)which I think then they actualy know somethink about android but It seams to me then XDAdevelpers actualy dont care..end i am sorry for that....dissapointed.I see then this forum works on basic.."help your self"...where are you XDAdevelopers...we come to your forum because we need help from you...
I know you doing it for free so i should be happy for what i get but i was waiting a little bit more of interest....sorry i am just dissapointed.
Anyone find a solution?
Would it help if we went back to android 2.1
I allready trayed that..save your time...no changes.
Can't we just use someone elses battery stats file someone who's battery does charge to 100%
I have same problem for 6 months already and yes, it started when I upgraded from 2.1 to 2.2 and it's only getting worse. It was 95% maximum, then 75% then 65% and now it's 45%.
Changing battery or firmware (custom or official), wiping stats, factory resets or calibrating batteries does not help.
Now it dawned on me that I still heve 2 weeks of warranty left and I think I'll try official service.
Please let as know when you will get it back...if they change just rom and calibrating or you will get new phone.I am interestig if it is software or hardware issue.thanks

Moto X play Battery Suddenly dead, like from 60 % to 0% and power off.

I m facing this problem in all N 7.X roms, Even returning to stock firmware till problem exist. Thanks in Advance.
(Sorry for my bad english)
Hi, I've faced similar problem 2 or 3 times, although for me it was around 20-25% (on stock MM). I don't know if it's a solution but seems it helped for me: charge a mobile just a bit so it turns back on, then use it until it really goes to empty battery and charge it to full.

I can confirm this. ALso around 20-30% or lower. Often will crash out right when I wake the phone up and often when using the camera. Using Lineage OS 14.1 nightly. Haven't figured out a solution, but restarting the phone will bring battery life up to where it was and often will allow me to finish the charge, or at least get me to a charger. Maybe just old batteries?
Hi,
Happy to inform u all my problem is resolve with replacing the battery. As per my opinion this is the best and final solution for this kind of battery problem in moto x play

I've had the same problem with my Moto X Play since November 2016
I've had the same problem with my Moto X Play since November 2016 and today the same problem continues ... I've changed the ROM many times since 2016, but the problem continues and turns into 15% and 30%.
I have Android N and TWRP 3 on my Moto X Play and I realized that the battery had power, because in TWRP it is possible to see it. I think this problem is not necessarily in battery, but "in something else" ... it's very strange ...
I have a question: how does Android know my battery? A file? Is a software inside it responsible for seeing my battery charge?
I think that is our problem.

Have you got the solution? I replaced the battery with genuine one, but still phone is shutting off at 70-80%. I also tried flashing PureNexus ROM thinking it may be a Nougat ROM problem. But the problem is still there.
Old battery is the reason. I faced it too in 2018. Then I got a new battery. Worked fine until a few days back, when it again started shutting down on opening the camera. Don't know why exactly. Most likely it's just the phone showing its age (I bought the phone in March, 2016). But other than this battery/age issue, it's working fine. Really a very well built phone

Moto G4[XT1625] dies around 30 to 40% charge

I'm on Lineage OS 15.1 [lineage-15.1-20200816-UNOFFICIAL-athene], magisk installed, no extra mods or custom kernal, just the one that comes with lineage
This problem started occurring around a month ago. i was on arrow os 10 when i first noticed this happen, then installed havoc android 9, but after noticing that the phone died around 50%, i installed lineage 15.1.
my phone dies around 30 to 40% charge but i can still use it in the twrp, it just wont boot to android, shutsdown saying the battery is 0%. i have tried battery calibration but that doesnt seem to help.
Also, if it dies around 30% and i charge it for 2 minutes, then unplug, then i can use the remaining 30% of the battery.
My usage is just facebook, whatsapp and reading manga. i dont game or watch much videos on my phone.
Moto battery calibration issue.
It is a known issue with Moto g4 and g4 plus, unplugging and reinserting of battery fixes this issue for around 15-30days until it happens again. The only solution for this is replacing the motherboard or purchasing a t4 screwdriver and reinserting the battery every 15-30days. And remember changing to a new battery does not help I am speaking from experience ?. Hope it helps

It's not risky right ? Like, unplugging and reinserting the battery is easy ? Or do I need to go to a shop for the battery every 15 to 30 days .
And does it get worse after some time that you have to reinsert battery every week or even every day ?
Thanks for you reply!
I'm having the same issue, and it seems as though quite a few other people do as well, even with the stock rom and no modifications. Strangely, it started happening for me when I flashed AOSiP 9.0_r44, which was the first 64 bit rom I've used. The random shutdowns because of 'low battery' persist even on the stock 32 bit rom. All the suggestions of doing a battery calibration don't seem to do crap so it seems like a lost cause at the moment...
