Anyone else having trouble with the phone detecting ok Google? I've set it up, updated everything, reset the phone. No, my finger isn't covering the Mic at the bottom. :/
No problems here but only tried twice just to see if recognized. Double check settings and make sure if custom launcher used that it is enabled and not disabled.

My N4 was away to repair a broken screen. Got it back on Wednesday and it immediately updated to 4.3. All was well, except for one weird issue where hitting a notification from the pull down would take me to the app via the pattern lock. I put this down to having played with some lock screen settings in Setting Profiles app (trying to disable it in certain settings), but it might not have been.
I've done the first device restart today, and after rebooting there are a few big issues.
1. I don't appear to have any mobile network, though wifi is connected. I had a good signal before the reboot.
2. I'm not getting a lock pattern or any lock screen at all, and it's not asked for the SIM pin
3. Hitting a notification in the pull-down makes the 'lock' clicking sound as it takes me to the app
4. The home button doesn't work. I see a slight dim of the screen and it makes the lock click sound, but nothing happens. Back and multitask work fine
Help! Any ideas? Are they known issues? Can't seem to find any reference online.
I'm on stock, using Nova Launcher

Those are not any known issues or anything I have read since Andrid 4.3 came out. Try a factory reset to see if that solves the problem. If not, maybe the screen wasn´t the only thing broken on your device. Ask for warranty.
Thanks, will see how I get on this evening and try a factory reset if it doesn't fix itself.
Seems to be a weird problem related to the lock screen and when it should/shouldn't kick in...

Glad I could help.
Ok, I've done a factory reset. Not had much chance to play as it took hours to reinstall everything. But I've just had the word issue where selecting something from the notification tray (the setting profiles shortcut) took me to the lock screen to put in my pattern first, then took me to the app.
EDIT no pattern to when it does it, seems random and can be while I'm using the device, so the lock screen shouldn't kick in for any reason
Any ideas? Faulty device?
My NFC shortcut in the dropdown doesn't work in 4.4.2. it seems that several different bands have the same problem. Does any one of you has this problem?
Don't know what's going on in google. Adding a feature like RSA and didn't even test NFC... really?
same problem here
I have the exact same problem. Though sometimes it works. I guess it must be a software bug. Hopes Sony launches a bug fix.
Its definitely a bug. Had the same thing, shortcut toggle didnt work had to enable it through the settings menu.
I reflashed the device, factory reset the device, re-rooted and its working ok now since.
Hi!
Got my Priv(stv100-4) yesterday, and after setting it up i realised that pbk gestures is not working.
It is enabled in settings, the phone has the latest updates and all blackberry apps are also updated. I also tried the "factory reset" several times.
Everything else is working perfect so i don,t see what causes this. Is there a setting somewhere that i am missing or did i just get a defective device?
If possible i would reflash the firmware, but haven,t found a way to do that.
Sombody have a good advise for me?
Was hoping to avoid sending it back for replacement...

If as you say it is enabled in settings, then it just has to work. Have you tried turning gestures off, restarting phone, then turning it back on?
Also you can try pressing VOL UP BUTTON and VOL DOWN BUTTON for at least 10 Second. Device should restart.
Thanks for replying.
tried both,and nothing happend.
guess i just have to send it back.
PKB gestures only work when using the Blackberry Keyboard, so if you installed say, the Google keyboard instead, and set it as the active input method, PKB gestures stop working. You have to use the Blackberry Keyboard as the active input method.
I wish it could be someting that easy, but i only have the blackberry keyboard installed
Hi together,
just was able to update to upgrade to Nougat. (O2 Germany)
I just have one big problem. I have to control the screen like Talkback is activated. But it isn't. (two finger scroll, tap and so on)
Does anybody have an idea how I get rid of that really annoying thing? If possible without factory reset. My Phone isnt rooted.
My Google and forum search hasn't helped me. The answers were always turn off Talkback, which it is already.

I had the same problem yesterday after the update, took some time to change back to normal behavior: restarted in safe mode, changed the resolution back to WQHD, changed some accessibility settings, like turning it on for Nova Launcher and turn off optical reader (I don't know why it was turned on...). After that I restarted to normal and seemed to work ok but then I turned on the accessibility feature optical reader again, too see what it does and the screen was only with 2 finger operable again, so I turned it off.
You can disable/remove Talkback in the application settings. Try in safe mode if it's not possible in normal mode. I tried to change the Talkback settings in the system settings (searched for Talkback) and it said in a pop-up that it isn't compatible with the system, so I removed it completely.
Thank you so much norti!!!!!!!!! Had the same issue with S7 (T-Mobile USA), and your advice helped!!! Actually, it was the only one I could find so far
Thank you Norti
Thank you so much. I had the same problem after performing the software update over night last night. I was so frustrated with it and the techs at the sprint store spent an hour with my phone and could not fix it. The techs recommended that I back up all my contacts and everything and then do a factory reset. I did not want to do a factory reset and searched the internet for a long time before coming across your post. I turned off optical reader and it fixed the two finger problem. Thank you so much for sharing this as I would have been lost without it.
Exactly the same happened with my S7 edge, almost drove me crazy before I figured out that it was Optical reader in accessibility that caused the problem.
That worked
Thank you for the correct fix post. Optical Reader off did it for me, too. Spent all morning wading through "Cool features of Nougat" and getting ready to break my S7 while calls were coming in...

I figured that it had to be the optical reader as that was one of the incompatible apps it reinstalled after the upgrade. Had to use two fingers to get through most menu-options, frustrating, to manage to disable it. Glad to see I wasn't the only ripping my Hair out experiencing this issue. Hope they fix it.
For future reference (in German):
This works:
Einstellungen > Eingabehilfe > "Text & Bildscanner": turn off ("Aus")
Hello!
It's been while since this happened. I am not sure if this happened when I updated the phone or not.
The thing is that I don't have any buttons on my screen and notification bar is missing. I have tried using different
launcher, adjusting screen resolution (or something), trying to fix it via PC. But then comes another problem. My PC does not recognize mobile at all. I tried connecting with ADB, but It says that device is unauthorised. I also tried dialing number that opens connection settings on phone and everything is ok, but it doesn't help at all.
So I did factory reset and hard reset, but nothing.
Please help
Sorry for my bad english guys.

Can you attach some screenshots of the problem? Are you using a stock or custom ROM and which version?
Access the Accessibility menu via Settings and check these options:
1. Magnification Gesture: OFF.
2. Display size: Default.
