I was fixing my N6p battery cover, by my bad luck i damaged the nfc coil.
Now it is dead, and looking for a new one, I seem not to be able to find it anywhere.
Even with the full battery cover. Does anybody replaced their coil?

The replacement covers on parts4repair.com (China) show the NFC sticker with the cover. I'd verify that with them before ordering though.
Edit- Just noticed that only the graphite cover shows the NFC sticker pictured. Weird.

Leys see their reply, if they do so.
But only Graphite has the sticked nfc coil. Pity a part lile this is nowhere in the market.

They said, the Graphite one comes with NFC coil, ordered, waiting, will confirm upon arrival.
NFC Coil is not coming with this backcover, the photo is "wrong" as the factory doesn't produce it with coil anymore.
That was their final answer
So I am now stuck with a dead NFC Coil.
Anybody ever looked for this? maybe if I find a service point of Huawei, will be able to find the part? (suggestions?)
What I did, is to use the heat gun to remove the NFC antenna from the old cover, and paste it into the new one.
I was disappointed to see that the back cover wasn't complete just before putting it. (I was trying to fix the power button. So I had 2 options, swap the power buttons or swap the nfc antenna and use the new shining back cover, I chose the second option and worked great so far.... I'm not an NFC user but I will start using Android Pay in a few weeks maybe...so I put one travel card and got some info like "mirafare app" blablabla so NFC seems to be working after the movement. ).
Yeah, let me know if anyone finds the NFC replacement. I had to reuse the old one and I didn't do a good job of removing it. Still works but my OCD kicks in just thinking about what's on the other side of the cover.

I purchased this rear housing http://www.ebay.com/itm/172144241461
It came with the NFC chip already attached. I was pretty happy, it took me forever to find one.

I bought a 9020A through Negri Electronics in April. Yesterday, the tip of the headphone plug snapped off and is stuck in my Nexus. I looked online and tried the Q-Tip/glue method but it didn't work. And now, I think I've essentially glued the tip in place.
I looked online and the headphone jack is part of the 'Navigator Flex Cable Ribbon" which I found on Global Parts Direct. That particular version is the for the 9020T, so I can only assume it will work for the 9020A. Global does have the same part for the 9023 and it looks different.
Global has a minimum order qty of 3, I need one. I might attempt replacing it myself, but how do I get this part without buying three of them!?
What are my options?
No options lol gotta buy 3
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
have you taken your device apart? maybe you can push the pin out once you have your ribbon out in the open. I have not seen a picture from the back side but these jacks often have gaps in the sides or even on top where a needle could be inserted.
not sure if this is the case for the NxS
I did take it apart, it's completely sealed. The end is metal and the rest of the housing plastic. There was no way to insert anything in there.
Did you look on eBay? I always find rare electronic parts there. May need to come from China but only take 2 weeks for me usually

I did, originally, and found nothing. I went back and found the part I needed. I've ordered it and I'll install it myself. I've checked out ifixit.com's tear down and while they don't remove that exact piece it appears to just be held into place with tape/glue once you get it apart.
Post a pic so we can have a look at it.

I didn't take any pics when I had it apart but there are pics on ifixit and the Global Parts Direct site has a close-up of the headphone part. I'd link it but I don't have enough posts to embed URLs.
I have seen some magnets that attach to the case of a phone then connect to a metal plate on the car or one that connects to the vents of the car. Does anyone make one strong enough to securely hold the Nexus 4 with a heavy duty case?
I have Tetrax Xway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awh6QP8-BBE
What would be even cooler, a magnetic car mount that's a charger like the mystical ORB that Google never released

Can you tell me the diameter of the circle that goes onto the back of the phone? The case I have for my Nexus 4 has circles on the back of it where the silicone skin sticks through.

I can't remember the exact sizes, but when I bought mine, it came with a few different-sized metal tabs, so you'd have a small variety to choose from.

Thanks for the excellent info. I ended up ordering the Xway, a single button to stick somewhere else, and I found an accessory pack with 6 more sticky magnets to place around!
I really need to stop buying stuff for my phone, but I swear it's addicting! :victory:

Yes, it looks like it sticks on with adhesive to the back of the phone.
Yes that is exactly how it works. The adhesive does not work on some cases so I have sometimes used crazy glue. I've tried a lot of systems for in car mounting and this is by far the best in my opinion.

X-Way is great for using vents as your mounting point, but if you want to mount it ANYWHERE you want, then get the FIX-WAY.
I have something simple and a lot cheaper, you might want to consider.
Cellet Magnetic Holder
Here's a youtube video which might explain it better:

I can attest that the magnet is extremely strong. The phone will not move at all through any bumps when driving. You stick the magnet to the back of your Nexus 4. I never took off the protective back skin that came with the nexus, so I didn't mind sticking the magnet to the back of the phone. On top of that I use the Diztronic protective case covering the back of the phone. Since that case covers the entire back of the phone, it covers the magnet and you can't even tell I have the magnet on at all. the magnet still works great through the protective case and still extremely strong.

From the reviews it is larger, but stronger maybe. I ordered one in case I can use them together or the other one is not strong enough.
I built a magnetic car dock for the nexus4 that I'm now selling.
http://www.makemobileinnovations.com/nexus4.htm
Here's a video of one of the prototypes showing how it works. The production version works the same except the magnet is stronger and it has cutouts for headphones, mic, camera, and speaker.

Does anyone know if applying the magnet directly to the back of the phone, will that STOP NFC from working?
I like the magnet idea but the location would disable inductive charging as well

The magnet does not but the metal plate on the back of the phone does break nfc. Check out this review by an n4 user:

There is a metal plate at the back of the phone or underneath the case....not a magnet...
Metal may have a better effect on inductive charging....rather than hampering it...but this is just my guess...it may disable inductive charging as well....

Long story short I got a replacement back from ebay that does not have any of the built in antenna/contact points installed, is this normal for a replacement back? How would this be beneficial for replacement of a broken back glass if it cant function the same as the previous one for NFC wireless etc.? Can the antenna's be replaced or should I say something to the seller about issuing a refund?

I'm hoping I can get the seller to offer me a refund but I bought it as a guest with ebay/paypal and didn't register so I don't seem to have a lot of power in the resolution department with them (ebay). I have emailed the seller asking for a RMA to get my money back or to be provided a cover that includes the antenna's, we shall see what they say, but my question still is this....
Has anyone here bought a cover that did NOT include the antenna's and what did you do with the situation (buy new antenna and from where, somehow move the old antenna and how, etc.)
I'm just looking for more options in case the seller gives me a hard time.
Thanks again for anyone's input that can help me out!

I would but they don't seem reliably removable from the case they are glued in I believe and pretty much made of paper. I'm afraid that in trying to remove they will tear or break. Has anyone else had to move the antenna before? Any advice on how best to do it?
Use a heat gun on low or a hair dryer on medium heat and use it to warm up the glue holding the antennas on. Hold the gun/drier about 6-8 inches from the antennas moving up and down the back cover to get even heating. After about 10-15 seconds try to carefully peel them up. If it feels like its going to tear stop peeling and continue applying heat. Don't get them too hot as you'll run the risk of them melting.
Once out transfer them to the replacing aw quickly as possible to not let the glue reset.

Hey guys,
So I recently changed my black nexus 4 into a white nexus 4 using an oem (yeah right) back. I also took the opportunity to replace my aging battery with another oem (yeah, I know) replacement.
The backing has all the electronics for nfc and Qi charging on it, and the Qi works great. But NFC is completely shot, nothing is working. So, besides the electronics on the back being shot, are there any other things it could be? Does the battery have any nfc importance?

you can put back black cover to test NFC - then you will know where fault is - white cover (nfc antenna coil broken) or phone (maybe nfc connector pads) ...

Yup, figured that would be the next step, I just dread removing the white cover. When I took off the black one I snapped the little plastic around the volume rocker.....

I dropped my Nexus 6p with no case and the camera lens looked to be damaged. When using the camera there were black dots scattered on the screen/picture.
I purchased a replacement lens, opened up the phone, and replaced it. The repair seemed to go fine and at first look, the camera had no more black spots. But it won't focus and can't seem to take a picture. The front camera works fine, which makes sense since I didn't touch that.
I opened up the phone again and made sure all the connections were hooked up and things were in order and clean. Still not focussing or taking pictures.
I factory reset just in case it was software but that didn't fix.
I have seen others who have camera problems like not focussing but not also the issue of not taking pictures too. The phone works fine in all other areas.
Any ideas?
Same boat here, my old camera is worn out as won't focus up close so got new one from replacebase on eBay and it's blurry as hell and not saving, told them and they sent replacement but that's same. Any ideas people?
I opened up my phone to replace the battery and broke the glass cover, so I've been walking around with the lens exposed. Black smudges started to appear and multiply. Sometimes it doesn't focus either... I've ordered a replacement camera module from eBay, waiting for it to see if it fixes anything

I actually just powered up the phone again after a while and the back camera still won't focus, but now suddenly it takes a picture and saves it. Still won't focus on anything farther away. Is this somehow a software issue?

Not sure, got to wait and see if the other guy has same issue, if he does then I'd same faulty cameras, I run rr 7.1.2 and even went back to full official 7.1 and updated to find same issues.

My original intent was to change the battery. I screwed up and ended up breaking the back glass, and the exposed lens started to degrate fast.
So I left the screws off, so I could access the interior of the phone more easily. Yesterday I opened it and unscrewed the motherboard, took out the old module and attached the new one, being careful not to place my fingers on the lens. Piece of cake. I screwed the motherboard back and plugged my new battery in too. I closed the phone without screws again and put my new glass cover.
Only waiting now for the new fingerprint sensor, which I also broke during my first attempt to open the phone. Doesn't matter. The parts are cheap enough and I like to tinker.
