No "fully charged" notification? - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
It seems that I dont get a notification that the phone's fully charged. Moreover even if it's fully charged, battery icon still shows that it's charging.
How to deal with this?

That's normal.

Battery issue..

Is it just me or anyone else find this to be a problem? I usually leave my phone charging overnight in the the wall charger. With any other phone, it would stop charging after the battery's full...
With the Exec, even HOURS after it's fully charged, the battery still stays warm to the touch????? Is this normal???

Tablet doesn't charge if dock is fully charged?

With my dock fully charged and showing green, my tablet was at 97% and I kept it plugged in overnight. This morning, the tablet is still showing 97% so I'm left to wonder if the dock is fully charged, then the tablet won't charge?
Anyone else notice this?
I read in this forum that the TF battery charge of 97% is a magic number which stops re-charging. If you dropped to say 90% the TF would start charging again to 100%. This was implemented as a way to lengthen the life of the battery caused by continuous mini-charges of the last 3%. So I expect that if your dock was still plugged in it is fully charged.
Yeah the tablet is effectively seeing the the power connection as being on mains when connected to the keyboard.

[Q] Transformer stops charging at 99%?

Just got my second transformer yesterday, a 32GB, I charged it overnight.
I noticed that the charging stops at 99%, I unplugged and used it a little bit, it didn't charge at 95%(the task bar battery icon doesn't change). Then I unplugged and used it again, when the battery drop to 94%, it start charging again. The firmware is stock 3.0.1. I haven't upgraded it yet.
Anybody else sees this weird behavior?
Another 16GB model charges just fine with the same cable and charger.
Most devices do this or something similar to stop over-charging of the battery... but most won't tell you its stopped at 95-99% but just say "Charged"
That is exacly my concern. It only shows 99% not 100%. My other transformer simply says 100% when it's done charging ...

Click to collapse
it's ok..99% vs 100% may have something to do with battery calibrations..
I hope so, I will upgrade to 3.1 and recharged it tonight and report back.
LiPos can take several charge cycles to get to full capacity. I wouln not be concerned until after a dozen or so charge cycles

Strange charging problem since Vzw 2.3.5 update?

My Verizon GT7 was working and charging great until sometime right after the 2.3.5 update...but now it's having some odd charging issues.
I am NOT using the original Samsung charger. That got lost almost a year ago.
But, I have (for two months) been using the charger from my TouchPad which is also 2A. For the ~9 months prior to that, I was using a 1A HTC charger. Both of these chargers worked perfectly fine (fully charging in about an hour or two...and charged overnight every night)....until the 2.3.5 update.
Now, it charges VERY slowly regardless of which charger (or computer) I use. The status always says discharging. And the (status) battery level is not in sync with the (notification bar) battery icon.
I just dont know if that is a very odd coincidence or not. Could the firmware REALLY have changed the charging requirements/functionality?
I did a factory reset. That didnt fix it and I still havent installed anything or even setup any accounts on it.
Plugging in to a computer - the charge indicator always shows.
Plugging in to 1A charger - the charge indicator sometimes shows.
Plugging in to 2A charger - the charge indicator never shows.
Yes, this is completely backwards from what you might think and both chargers still work perfectly with other devices.
But, it does charge at the same slow rate with all three - like 2-3% per hour. The status says discharging with all three. And the (notification bar) battery icon and numeric battery level status are still out of sync. The (notification bar) icon is usually about 20-30% higher.
I have the original Samsung cable as well as a third-party one and both function exactly the same.
Right now the (Status) battery level says 46% but the (notification bar) battery icon is clearly over 90%. One or more of those is obviously not right.
I really dont want to be w/o it for two weeks sending it to Samsung if it really is not a hardware issue.
This is, and always has been, a non-rooted stock Tab.
Also, the large battery icon (when the Tab is off and plugged in) seems to be more in sync with the (status) battery level. So, it's just the notification bar icon that doesnt match those two. After getting it to 100% on both, the notification bar icon stayed at "full" until the (status) battery level dropped below about 70%.
Anyone have any ideas and/or experience with this?
Thanks!
Ok, as it turns out, 2.3.5 DOES change the charging requirements!
I went and spent $14 on a real Samsung charger and....its charges properly!
WTH.
Looks like what Samsung has been saying for a year now "that you must use the Samsung charger" was them being proactive until it was implemented in 2.3.5
For 10+ months, the other chargers worked perfectly fine. Now, only a Samsung charger does.
