SM-G935V Build 6.0.1 - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Does anyone have the original firmware or able to assist me with this. I have downloaded several versions online that say it is the original firmware and tried using Odin but it always fails to write. I have done everything suggested online from changing the ports, downloading latest Samsung Drivers and still keeps giving me the issue so not sure if something is wrong with what I downloaded or what is going on. I am trying to get it back to stock, but it will not allow it even with factory reset it still gives me same issues as freezing, having to keep entering the wi-fi password, a security notice error message that pops up everytime the phone is turned off and on and want go away. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Did you found it? I need this too! please

[Q] WiFi not toggling on

Hi guys,
Sorry for the incoming wall of text but this issue im having is massive and after doing a buttload of research im still no closer to anything.
I have the international Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505). So everything started when my phone was running CM 10.2 then i did an OTA update to I believe it was 10.3. My phone would boot and the OS would start but I kept getting an error message saying some android system program wasnt working and basically made it unusable. So i decided to go back to CM10.2. After much trouble, I finally managed to get back to CM10.2 but I decided i was sick and tired with CM and wanted to go back to Samsung Stock firmware. This is where all the trouble began and its been a nightmare so far. I had TWRP 2.6.0.0 flashed too. I downloaded the TGY-I9505ZHUEMK2-20131122112513.zip file from samsung-updates and moved it onto my phone and wanted to install the .zip from TWRP. I kept getting an error message so I installed it through ODIN instead. Ok, so it worked from there and all was fine and dandy until I couldnt get the wifi to turn on, as in, it wouldnt even toggle on not that it wasnt connecting but that it physically wouldnt turn on. I figured I should do an OTA update incase it was a software problem. Alas, I got the error message saying that I cant because my phone was modified. Once again, I reinstalled the firmware through ODIN 1.85 and this time I didnt root it but i still got the same error message. I then used Triangle Away to try to reset the flash counter incase that would help. No matter how many times i did, the counter would always stay at 7. So after hours of research I stumbled upon an article about the infamous KNOX flag implemented in 4.3 and decided to see if I had triggered it. So I checked under download mode but I couldnt see anything relating to it but I did see 0x30. I forget what it was for. In the end I found this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444671 ) and downloaded the PIT file and the pre rooted firmware linked in that thread and installed them and all went smoothly. The WiFi still wont turn on but triangle away was able to reset the flash counter to 0 this time. Now when I attempt to turn on the WiFi i get a notification saying 'The device has detected an application attempting unpermitted actions and has stopped loading. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot'. I tried rebooting but that didnt help. I tried removing the battery and putting it back but that didnt work either. I tried holding down on the notification and clearing cache and then closing the app but that didnt help. The application in question is called : SEandroid (version 1.0). When I scroll to the bottom of the permissions list I did see something interesting that could have something to do with this. One of the permissions was labeled Qualcomm WiFi p2p.

Please guys, any help would be appreciated. I'm about to throw this dang phone into the ninth circle of hell.
EDIT:
Wwll guys, Im feeling like a special ed guy now. I found out about the WIFI fix and after flashing that with ODIN, it worked all dandy now. My second question would be, if I were to put TWRP back on, would that screw with anyhting?

If reflashing your stock firmware does not fix it and it is not caused by something you should return it for a replacment, it sounds like a problem with either the wifi driver or hardware and that is why your phone is unable to switch it on.
An internet connection is required to ensure your phone can be activated and also to make sure it has no attached google account (i.e stolen)
Try flashing the latest stock ROM with KIES or Odin, if its not fixed then a Samsung repair centre could also help

Telling me there is an error and not telling me what the error said isn't going to make fixing it any quicker?
Try finding the original firmware on sammobile.com and flash it with Odin. If you get any errors, tell them here so we have something to fish with
Maybe going back to the original stock ROM and then updating through OTA's before re-rooting would work.
Remember I need to know what the error said.
Edit; Also, try with different sim cards with data plans, it doesnt need wifi to go through activation, just an active internet connection

Unable to flash stock firmware

Hello, my SM-G935A is rooted, and I have 2 issues with it. Firstly, I'm unable to receive texts or phone calls (I can send them), and I've tried a factory reset and I even got a new SIM, but nothing worked. I think if I flash stock firmware, it might fix the issue. Second problem, when I go into download mode and select my AP in Odin and press start, my phone gets an error and Odin freezes at Initialization.
Any help would be appreciated. I would prefer to fix the texting issue, as I don't want to return the phone to ATT. In either case, the Odin issue needs to be fixed
I'm having a similar issue. This afternoon, 2 apps threw errors and closed. I rebooted, which apparently was the wrong thing to do. The reboot stalled on the AT&T logo and stayed that way for 5 min - the unit became very hot & the power button did not respond, even while holding it down. I got into recovery, cleared the cache and factory reset, then rebooted. The unit came back up and started reinstalling everything. I took it back down into the download status and attempted to reload 935x via Odin, only to stall at "initialzation" [sic] as you did. I got out of that after waiting for some sort of response. SuperSU was still in my apps as was Root Checker. Root Checker indicates the system is rooted. SuperSU indicates it needs the binary updated. BusyBox and TiBu indicate they cannot find root. I deleted all the root apps and tried reinstalling root via adb which completed successfully, but the same outcome with all the root apps. So I'm not sure if I'm still really rooted as Root Checker claims, or not.
EDIT: I just saw that I have 2 "Knox Settings" apps. Clicking on either returns, "Unfortunately, Container Agent2 has stopped."
use the odin from the stock firmware thread to flash it again. if it fails you can flash the u firmware and then the stock again. then you have to use a different odin if you want to flash the root api file the one you flash the firmware with wont work. also there is help in one of the threads about fixing the volte problem so you dont have to turn it off to get calls. i didnt have to do it as using the odin i mentioned fixed it for me when i came from the u firmware.

I was having the exact same problem you had with Odin. It seemed I was able to flash stock firmware using this version of Odin: http://www.mediafire.com/download/2t2sjqxtogbkafk/odin_3.12.3.rar

did you have any problems with the u version of the s7 edge firmware, like the fingerprint scanner not responding? i am on that version and cant get any odin version or any version of s7 edge g935a firmware to flash, tried unrooting and was forced to use the U version of the s7 edge firmware, everything works except the fingerprint scanner, cant get back to full stock firmware, need help!
im having the exact same problem, when i put my phone into download mode and flash the stock at&t firmware, Odin get stuck in "initialization" and my phone screen displays and error message.
Same stuff was happening to me, I went back to stock and took the update. When your phone stops working as an actual phone, it's time to roll it back.
I played with it for a week and my phone was so freaking hot (with hot weather) equals a wait and see if this gets more stable in the near future. I did use the Odin 3.12.3 mentioned by King James III. Honestly, I did so many things to get it back to stock I forget what actually worked (it was the wee hours of the morning and I was spent). Don't give up guys, it will and can work.
edit: It may be as simple as not right clicking Odin and running it as Administrator.

I used Odin_v3.12.3_Patched_SHA256 to flash the 935U Firmware then used Odin3_v3.11.2 to flash the June Firmware release.

No "device initialization" tab on Smart Switch?!

So, newer versions of Samsung Smart Switch do not offer the option for "Device Initialization" anymore.
How can I do a similar procedure apart from an Odin stock image flash?
I tried Odin stock image flash, but could not get totally unrooted that way. And was hoping to get clean unroot by using Smart Switch.
Any way to get the Device Initialization done in Smart Switch? Or does anyone have the older Smart Switch install files?
Thanks!

This one worked for me. Just don't update when you open it. Regardless of the pop up that says device initialization is no longer available, it is.
The device initialization function was removed in the latest version of Smart Switch because it was exploited too much for debranding.
Here's the official download link for the last version with device initialization function:

this help me a lot. thanks for the link:fingers-crossed:
Thanks for the link to the version with initialise!
I downloaded it and tried to do the initialisation process but after putting in my details it said "SM-G935FD" does not support initialising?
Do you know another way to initialise other than flashing a stock rom in ODIN as so far every rom I've tried gets stuck in boot loops.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

It appears samsung has blocked it. Recent versions of smart switch automatically update to newest version and older versions installation always fails. I've tried many.

Now I also get the error message, that my SM-G930F does not support initialising even though it worked before, so Samsung must have really blocked it. ODIN is the only way to do this now.

Samsung completely removed this feature... Cannot find fw on the server. This feature is over. The only way is ODIN or something paid. Restrictions, restrictions, restrictions everywhere......
This really sucks since Odin does not completely restore everything.
After having the bluetooth share problem come up on my phone due to max bluetooth connections (I managed to successfully root the phone and delete the entries to get it working again the last time on S5) I tried again to root my phone which was unsuccessful and messed it up. After trying a few times to get the correct ROM which is hard to get as theres nowhere official to get it from (that I know of) and downloading is slow. Now its in boot loop. Spent time for 3 days running to sort out this issue and now they've completely taken out the potential way to solve it. I guess on my next upgrade I'll look into other options, to think they haven't solved the bluetooth share issue after all this time I think is just crazy.
So why samsung is not focus on this issue and does not try to solve ....and in other side samsung kies say this device not supported and samsung smart switch says unsupported device so what is this ??both are made by samsung and this type of error faces many many users in the world and you can see a lots of video on you tube but there is no any appropriate answer
This move is absolutely against developers who try to use androids more than just what Samsung intends them to. Definitely not satisfied, it was my only way of recovery because my old backups don't work because of frequent updates.

No device "initialization" tab on Smart Switch? > BUT ODIN STILL WORKS
Hello everyone;
I found this thread a few hours ago, when I was trying to fix my Samsung phone.
I just want to confirm that flashing stock ROM with Odin works even if you have the "“An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the Smartswitch PC Software”" screen.

Can you teach me how to do that sir.
You can also try another Samsung application, if I remember correctly, many additional features have been added recently. https://www.huuq.net/samsung-flow-download-for-windows/
