Hi,
I looked at the function in galaxy note 10.1, and I really like the S note function. I have a question, is there any possibility tht s note will work on my galaxy tab 10.1 gt-p7510??
I hope that someone can.port the feature to our gtab 10.1 too.
TQ.
Are you talking about the software it self or the ability to use a pen?

I mean the software cuz i know s pen only works for the galaxy note and galaxy note 10.1. I can always use a stylus pen to replace the s pen. Thanks for making my question a bit clear !!
Someone?
Anyone has used both the ThinkPad Tablet with CyanogenMod and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, and care to comment...?
Thanks in advance.

The Note is faster thanks to its faster processor, the pen input is on another level too, since it uses wacom technology, not a ntrig pen with a battery inside it. However there is only one Rom out there for the Note which I can recommend, its Paranoid Android, there are two versions, one of it already has the feature "extended desktop", which is the next best thing to the pen-only mode im cm for tpt. It removes the bottom bar, so you can not accidentally press back or open the notifications or something.
If you already have a tpt I would say the differences are not worth the price to upgrade, but if you are just looking what to buy I'd definitely recommend the note.
Have a nice day and merry christmas
this is Rockchip's multitasking, Is it possible to run on Nexus4?
Wow that is impressive
that's very nice, but it seems like it would be really cramped on anything smaller than a 7" tablet
Yeah Samsung Note 10.1 has the same type of multitasking which works wonderful once you root the device because then you can multitask with any app you have and not Samsung specific ones. Bought a note 10.1 recently because of this feature.
If it was possible.. HOW on earth are you suppose to read everything on our tiny screens.. LOL

+1 works well on the note 10.1, but this looks more fluid. Even with the stylus it's a pain to hit the buttons in the corner, reminds me too much of windows. The gesture support seems much better.
Yes, it's great on a 7" inch tablet but it would be cool to have it on a Nexus 4 !
Anyone has more information about this tablet and this new multitask system ?

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, But Samsung implementation seems to only be custom apps that work in window form, but this seems to be a framework implementation?
Meaning this should work well with all Play Store apps as long as they followed the Android development guidelines and have a tablet UI. (fragments, panels etc)

I would love to see this on the Nexus 4. Thanks for sharing!

The forums here are pretty dead, is no one else ordering any of the new line-up?

I'm getting the 8.4. Why are you choosing the 10.1 pro over the Note 10.1 2014 (as it's on sale and I owned that tablet and liked it).

I missed the Groupon sale, would've definitely got it if it was still available, or it's on sale at different places now?

It's going to be released today in the states, pre-orders were up for some time on Amazon and BestBuy.
I have pre-ordered the 8.4 through Amazon, but since I purchased black instead of white it's been delayed until Feb 19.
I have had a Nexus 7 (too small) and an iPad (too big). I think the 8.4 is the sweet spot. In my opinion this tablet far exceeds the iPad mini at the same price point.
Just picked up the Tab Pro 10.1 Black, 16gb. I have a note 10.1. I did not upgrade to the Note 10.1 2014 because I don't like the way it does multi-windows compared to the original 10.1. On the Tab Pro the new multi-windows setup is far nicer.
Currently, the Note 10.1 2014 and Tab Pro 10.1 are both $499. tough decision. Don't really care about the pen, but the Note 10.1 2014 does have 3gb ram vs 2gb. Same CPU.
Wonder if the Note 10.1 2014 will get the new gui with 4.4.2?

How is the performance on the Tab Pro 10.1? with the whole new Magazine UX and Android 4.4, is it smoother than the Note 10.1 2014? C'mon, give us a more detailed review

I've really barely used it yet. Also, apparently there is no root yet, but I suspect that won't take long. But, that has hinder me in playing with the new multi-windows, outside of what it can do stock (making my other apps multi-window and such). Also, I only had the Note 10.1 2014 for a day or two before deciding I prefered my original Note 10.1.
The new multi-windows is certainly nicer than on the Note 10.1 2014. They open in a cascade view that is resizable. (this can be done with addons with the 10.1 2014). While you can change to full screen, like the 10.1 2014, once full screen there is no way offered to go back to windowed.
Coming from the original Note10.1, which I chose to keep over the 2014 model, and with the help of Multi-Windows Manager 3rd party app, I can make any app multi window capable and they all get the icon in full screen that allows you to return to windowed mode. This is a peev of mine. Your milage may vary.
At any rate, until I can root and install a 3rd party multi window app, I will not know how much will be changed.
I can't compare it to the note 10.1 2014 for performance, but I can't say I notice lag.
As to benchmarks, as worthwhile as they are (I can only compare against original Note 10.1):
Quadrant Free: Tab Pro: 17857 Note 10.1: 6000
Antutu: Tab Pro: 33970 Note 10.1: 15861
I like the new gui far better than god awful touchwiz, which I always replaced with Nova Launcher. Magazine UX or whatever this launcher is called has special screen pages that use special widgets. The news selections appear to use Flipboard, which is an "uninstallable" app.
When I have used it more, I shall report findings.
Edit 1:
Just remembered, I had tried 2 of the Note 10.1 2014...first had a case defect. With both, and as many others have reported, my existing bluetooth keyboard would continually be disconnecting and reconnecting. I can happily report I am not experiencing this issue with the same bt keyboard.
Edit2:
Booted up with no apps running, memory cleared from task manager, you already have 1.17gb of your usable 1.72gb total is in use. I do understand android memory usage and am not stating this as a problem. But it often comes up.
Edit3:
Not sure I will be rushing back into Nova or any other alternative launcher. I'm kind of liking this. Not perfect, but pretty nice. TBH, If I knew the Note 10.1 2014 was getting this update along with kitkat, I would highly consider exchanging this for it.
Edit4: Have been using it for a few hours now. Unless 3rd party, root-required apps change it a lot, samsung seems to have decided to degrade the functionailty of multi-windows since the original Note 10.1. While better that in the note 2014, still leaves me missing my old tab :-\
I was going to get the 10.1 pro but I got the 8.4 instead. I like the portability and I wanted something to closely fit the same size of my iPad mini with retina. I must say I think the iPad might have to find a new home because I am really loving Samsung whole new ui and it's pretty dam snappy and fast
I wanted the Tab 8.4, but after looking at it's battery size and probable run time, I decided to get the Tab pro 10.1 which has almost twice the battery capacity and claimed 9 hr run time.

I have not checked but if you prefer 8.4, I suggest checking battery times vs mAh. The 8.4 battery is smaller, but so is the battery sucking screen

Hey man,
Congrats on the 10.1 purchase, stuck between this and the note 10 2014 myself....
I dont think I'd use the s pen after the novelty has worn off and there is quite a bit of difference in weight.
How are you finding the Pro 10.1? Any issues? How is the battery life?
Sorry for the questions but I'm sure there are others wanting to find out the same info
EDIT - Anybody else that has purchased the Pro 10, please feel free to chime in
Can't really judge battery time yet. First couple days you tend to mess with it more than normal . I did have some concern yesterday, but am holding off judging.

Do you have any battery screen shots? What kind of usage did you put the device through?

Well, my Tab Pro 10.1 will reach my US address by Monday and then it will take a week or so to reach my country here (Egypt), will do a detailed review with videos as soon as I lay my hands on it.
I cracked the screen on my Nexus 10 and Squaretrade can't fix it so they are sending me $500. Was going to go out and buy the tab pro 10.1 today until I realized Best Buy only has a 16GB model. Looks like 32GB isn't out yet anywhere. Boo. I tried doing some googling but can't find out when 32GB will be released. It looks like it's planned at least. Anyone know when?
