I did some digging and found this chinese site, but unfortunately I cannot read chinese at all, and the google translate is horrible. http://bbs.zhiyoo.com/forum-1862-1.html
Could someone who is fluent in chinese tell us if there's anything that can be linked here? I saw that there's MIUI for our phone but I don't know what is inside that thread here: http://bbs.zhiyoo.com/thread-12822849-1-1.html
Here is another site containing MIUI information, believed ffboy had linked us to the second alpha of it http://bbs.ydss.cn/forum-lemax2-1.html

Hi all,
Is there any possibility to add locales and languages in custom build ROM's? I know Haykuro and TheDude include additional locales, but JF isn't. How can I add them myself, is there any way?
got_Thai?
I'm interested in this as well. I believe it can be done without having to cook a new rom though. My interest lies in the Thai language and I found the following sites describing (I think?) how this can be done:
http://www.droidsans.com/content/hack-thai-display-t-mobile-g1-practical
http://g1daily.blogspot.com/2008/11/g1-install-thai-font-on-t-mobile-g1.html
I tried using google translate but the results didnt' help me much. From what I could make sense of, the how-to instructions are in the first link, and the file needed (maybe the fonts?) is in the second.
Anyways, if this helps at all let me know.
hehe i found this thread when I search on google how to add french language to my G1...
The emulator support french (and many others languages). I'm sure we can extract locales on the emulator and put them on the phone.. but no idea how to do that
I'm really interested in this too
Hi,
I'm using the official MIUI ROM from miui-dev.com Since this ROM is only available in Chinese and English, I was trying to translate it into Dutch. There already is a MIUI ROM which is multilanguage (the NDT MIUI ROM). Is it possible to take the Dutch language files from that ROM and implement it in the official MIUI ROM, or create a flashable language pack from it?
(I hope this is the right place to ask this!)
There are multilang packs available, with links in one of the old miui sd build's threads. But the site linked to is in German (I think), and I've not been able to download anything from it.
Should you find it, and be able to download the files, could you please up them to a free filehosting site so I can get 'em too?
I am using the build where the d/l link is, and almost everything is in Chinese...

Could you provide a link of the thread you're talking about? Will look into it, and upload the files you need.
Theres a multi-upload link in the Jaws MIUI 1812... sd build thread, I just saw it and downloaded. Haven't applied it to my AD SD build yet. It was the 1st miui build in sd development forum a few mins ago, but I can't drop a link from the tapatapk app tho, sorry. I'm away from home so no computer copy n paste action right now lol.

Hi there,
Have you tried asking around at the MIUI forum @ miuiandroid.com for a dutch translation? I downloaded the latest multilang rom for the HD2 with a small fix from one of the devs from there. It indeed is in English although for me it took day or two to get used to. Definitely good enough for now
Besides some minor bugs and an average battery life (Which from the start isn't the best feature of the HD2) it remains an very graphically impressive UI.
Opened this subject so gave the signal is ignored by most developers of Arabic that deal with more people of the Middle East, and I want to interact with me in this subject seriously. And put several questions to be answered.
Do you add the Arabic language difficulties programming? Why, if the French and English, Chinese and others is not difficult.
I tried hard to integrate localization of multiple sources to multiple copies. I find sometimes accepted and sometimes the system fails and re-install it again
I know I am a user and not a developer but I get the tire on the front of an Arab of the new system and new versions by developers. I feel so sad that we Arabs are not accepted when the developers and the Arabic language neglected in the margin
Thank you and please consider the issue seriously.
Its most likely too much hassle for a western dev to even bother attempting to incorporate the language since it uses right to left instead of left to right and would need more modification to rom maybe.
Remember devs do this because they enjoy it, not because they are trying to serve you or others. If you really want Arabic language try a Arabic forum or find a Arabic dev or user that can do it for you.
By the way , use proper topic titles that describe the topic. Your title is not descriptive.

i want all developers Join to this thread
Yes, I am with you says you are right.
But there are some manner of languages such as Arabic and Hebrew which are written from right to left, we find that developers are added and the Arab is not added.
I, for my system (NDT SENSE3.0 PYRAMID BASED V6.0) I was impressed by being fast and no problems it has tried repeatedly to converting it into Arabic, but was re-installed the system fails once again tried several copies of Arabization Arabization not notice that I mean that it is a separate unincorporated with the system and thus was forced to do several attempts so that I can correct that this localization is very boring not notice it
If you have a solution please kindly give me the link so that I can use that version and thank you

Go through the SD forums and search for Boxmax. I don't know what developers' views are on this, but perhaps you could contact him via PM and ask how to do this. If you are willing to use SD builds loads of his have Arabic RTL support.
Exactly this version of an Arab, but not required I use the offline version (NDT SENSE3.0 PYRAMID BASED V6.0) by a NAND Magdrl
Hi all
There is a wiki page set up for the Ideos X5 devices. It may well be helpful in splitting the useful info that you good users have added to this forum. Please feel free to edit it appropriately, but please remember this is most helpful to newbies so be as clear and conciseness with the information you add. It could become a great resource if everybody gets behind it. Feel free to use this thread to bounce ideas around for it.
Huawei U8800 IDEOS X5 WIKI Here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Huawei_U8800_IDEOS_X5
Thanks to PaulMilbank for bringing this to my attention.
Take it easy

Updated a bunch of stuff on the Wiki, now has a lot more order and info. I have only got a couple of days experience with this forum though so others with more experience can now improve on my page editing. It now has a separate section for u8800 and u8800 pro roms so hopefully that helps.
It needs to be updated in the recovery section as I have just listed all the recoveries I can find, but some are really old and I don't know which recoveries are for what version. EG: 5.0.2.7 from genokolar seems to be for the 2.3.5 update, but does it work with 2.2.2 and below roms?
Paul
well done
i think that the most important thing now should be to understand why huawei's links to download stock roms are all offline....for example i need the stock vodafone branded firmware for my u8800pro but the link is broken
Would be great to have those, but they dont seem to keep older links.
Maybe we should start another thread pulling together all the known to be good rapidshare, multiupload etc mirrors of those files and get people to contribute their links.

this should be the simplest. solution.
BTW, i have looked for the stock 2.2.2 vodafone-branded firmware but i was not able to find it on the net.
Wiki now has a common problems section with some fixes and workarounds listed.
good thanks

Wiki not works for me.
If someone has gathered all ROMs from Huawei, he/she can send it to me and I will host them on my PC, apache server with 20Mbps uplink. I can give FTP access and www directory.

Can someone confirm or deny this rom?
I tried to use the link by removing the stars and it doesn't get anywhere so not sure what V100R001C00B540G001 is compared to the V100R001C00B522G001 release which is supposed to be the final.

w0w great.
i have some, not all, i can search for you
there are not any info about u8800-51
why all link from huawei are offline?
I think they just don't store them for long. Manufacturers probably dont want people messing with their phones and breaking them then just restoring an image before returning it under warranty.
I had no problems with the update or on the download. Great improvement on this rom.
Always good to give a new life to our phone
I've updated the U8800 ROMs.

Hello Xda Users.
I am releasing a Windows Mobile ROM.
The device I've worked on is the Toshiba Portege G910
(probably many of you will remember my numerous questions in this forum. )
and..... Finally, after "years of study" I'm doing it.
The ROM si ready on my PC, but I still need an original (stock) ROM for this device, otherwise the new Rom won't work properly and I couldn't add very important apps to it (as for example the camera...)
A long time ago I found Stock Roms on the Toshiba website.
But now the link is not avaible anymore.
Please, can anyone upload for me (on any website) an original/stock ROM for this device?
P.S.
I also remeber that, a lot of stock ROMs for the G910, were stored in the forum section of "www.4pda.ru" but this website is in russian language and it's totaly understandable for me, even if I try to translate it.
Please, can any russian man simply search the stock ROM for me?
If you help me I will include you and your profile/website in the credits of this project
(Soon the Rom will be avaible here and on my website)
It seems to me that the official firmware isn't in the "4pda" forum, I found 2 links in another website (it's always russian...)
But the file has been removed by the File-Hosting service,
so...
my last hope is that some "ex-Toshiba-G910" owner stored it in his old Hard-Drive or PC... (please help)
For Toshiba :
I understand that so many years have passed, this phone is totally discontinued and of course you don't offer new support... But, why on earth do you eliminate even the old support already provided ?!?!
Update:
After spending hours for search it, Finally I found a working link to download this Stock Rom (required to make an updated one)
http://www.vitorrentz.cc/torrent/5705e027e0023749a584323e5061bca63bcb5fcb
I started the download but the speed is about 0.0 kbs/sec...
Why? Users, Could you just try if it works?
Maybe the download will work outside my country ...
How about this?
Removed - It was malicious, sorry

Hello Redorded! I have just seen the message!
I really Thank you for the !
Does your link was a Torrent or a File/sharing Download?
Anyway it's very hard to find this Stock rom but not impossible.
In fact I found 2 guys that have it but I can't see their e-mails because I can not use a site in russian!
Maybe... Do you speak russian??
Do Anyone have an account on "4pda" or on "unlockers.ru" ??
