Just wondering if anyone else has this problem....i kinda fixed it by tightening the screws in the back of the phone...when the screen is up and i touched the bottom left of the screen and gave a little pressure it would wiggle a little.....so anyone have this problem also??
Yeah as I use it more and more it seems to move and not be as tight. Not a huge problem yet, but if it continues to get worse then I may bring it in.
Okay, I read that someone lifted part off the front by removing a screen saver! Now with me, I recognized that on the left side bottom, left to where the slideview and call buttons are under, the ENTIRE part seems to come up.
It is lifting itself and I bet in a few days/weeks this will get off.
So my question is if anybody had this happen and knows what is under there? Is there a possibility to GLUE it back on?
Now since I am watching this, I think the ENTIRE front can come off eventually and if it is just glued on at the bottom where one has to press the buttons all the time, it is only a matter of (short!) time until this gets out of hand.
Anybody found anything about taking this phone apart yet?
That happens to my phone, I do not bring it back because I buy it in a duty free shop here it japan and also that is the only issues on my phone and only some bugs. I just press it always there to bring it down but it keeps popping up. I think i can glue it, so I do it to fix the problem. Just be carefull if you do it, I notice that under the plastic screen there are buttons (as I think it is) the hard part that you feel when pressing the slideview or call. When you use a liquid glue and put to much, it can go to that button and worst may stuck that part or go inside the phone and also the part where the mic is. I put glue just on the sides just make sure to put small amount at a time. I cannot give the brand of the glue that I use because its in japanese. Now only the small part in the call buttons is up a little because I cannot put enough glue on that part, but in the slide view button its now okay and working well.
This is my firts post on xda hope it helps a little.
Hi guys,
I am having screen protector drama: I am trying to remove a non silicon screen protector (and I know its on there. good at that!) but I can't remove it.
I've tried scotch tape, duct tape, mach 3 razer blades...trying to lift up that corner.
I have to remove this thing because it is what I am suspecting is messing with my Proximity Sensor, and causing the screen to blank when making calls. Also, Z-DeviceTest reports my Proximity is 0.00000 cm , when the screen is just on normally.
*i might try the hex edit trick to turn off the sensor after this, if I fail. Although that would suck kind of, because then my head will press buttons during calls..AND, hex editing the appropriate file with androids hex edit, didn't help me find the string, the last time i tried.
That being said, I'm using a pin and a flash light, and want to know if i am pulling at something inherent to the phone or not.
On your Nexus one, is there a black rubbery ring around the screen, between the edge of the screen and the grey. Is it like 1mm thick? (everytime I pin and pull up, i tear this string like rubber grommet, and i'm wondering if its the screen protector excess that oversits the screen, or something the nexus one has around its blank screen?
Please help.
ThankS!
I do see a thin black ring between the screen and the metal.
If you're really sure there's a screen protector on there, maybe try a tiny dot of superglue on some tape to increase the sticking power?
Aww, thank you sir.
I guess I've been tearing up my phone then.
I will try the super glue, but what should I stick onto it? <string?>
ive never had a screen protector that stuck on are you sure there is even one on there? those things peel right off
Hrmmm....
Well its a Clarivue... these things look like glass.....
Well, I used the solution described here, with the hex editing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=985223
Altering sensors.mahimahi.so solved the phone screen going blank issue, but auto rotate stopped working.
Replaced the file with original, rebooted, and for some reason, still couldnt auto rotate.
Now doing a Nandroid restore. Hoping it auto rotates again.
This screen off issue during call seems like a GB issue. Restoring an earlier CM7 backup, and hoping to find an alternate dialing app...
Found a fix. somewhat
(The nandroid backup restored auto rotation incidentally)
You go into the dialer, and change preferences to disable Haptic feedback.
The screen still may go blank on dialing, but easily awakes now by either pressing the power button or trackball. No one button seems to do it consistently, but its one of those two consistently now.
Thanks for your help guys. Minor pin damage
Still no fix for the Proxmity Sensor GB/CM7 bug.
Any suggestions? I tried Screen Suite as recommended in another thread. No go.
Does anyone else find it annoying that the camera sticks out on the bottom? I'm much more concerned with scratching the camera (which I don't think is Gorilla Glass) than I am with the screen. So, if I have the case off (which I take off sometimes to use an aux cable), and set the phone down, it's sitting right on the camera. Or, I can have it sit right on the screen, which I generally opt to do.
I think it's frustrating that the back plate is so easy to remove, that using a case is almost unnecessary (and I hate using cases), but the camera is what the phone rests on, not the back plate, something much more difficult to replace, and making a case basically necessary.
use the s-view cover, it will increase the thickness and level it out.
p.s. or may be try the extended battery, may be it can do the same thing
Any one else experiencing scratches on the row of magnets. I always have style mod on so don't quite understand why they are happening. I don't slide the style shell off, I make sure to lift it off. Anyone else notice this???
