Please excuse me if this has already been asked but since I'm new to the mxp I wanted to know if I can root this phone using king root or if this is not a good tool to use? Thank you for any suggestions.

Nope... Unless you want a brick. None of the one-click methods will work and there have been instances of bricking.
Rooting is only possible by unlocking the bootloader and flashing a systemless root (SuperSU) manually with TWRP.

Dumb question but do you know if there is anyway to root and unlock from the phone itself? Don't have a computer is why I ask.

How do I install the volume mod (in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2306701&page=1 ) on an unrooted S4 using a mac?
Thanks
Simple, root the phone...
You can't install or flash any mods on an unrooted phone as you need to access the system files to do so... There is no workaround...

Someone on the other thread said you can flash mods through custom recovery through Odin. However, I dont have a PC I can use and I dont know how to do any of that.

Actually, it has been answered. Root is required. No ifs, ands, or buts. You need root access to modify system files and libraries. It may not be the answer you want to hear, but it is the answer to your question.

At the moment you can not unlock the bootloader... you can root it...and from the reading up on it I did it doesn't look like the unlock will come soon either... I went through the same thing I feel for you ... best of luck...

Hmm...
So is it just the RAZR M XT907 that got this update? Or did the XT926 get the same thing? My thread I linked was for both, though I only had an XT926 to play with but as with all phones I unlock for customers I check for the most recent updates on the phone and I wasnt notified of any. I'm leaving the thread up because its useful to those who haven't taken it for the XT907, but could it go void because of the inability to downgrade the bootloader yet?

yes, you can reroot. since your bootloader is already unlocked, I'm assuming you have a custom recovery installed (TWRP or CWM)? if so, then you can flash supersu (search for it on XDA) via recovery.

not sure. read through that entire thread first (took me 3 or 4 full reads before I got the gist of it).
This is basically what I'm wanting to do. I don't care about custom roms or anything. I don't even care if I have trwp. All I want is root and xposed on MM moto x pure 1575. Is it possible?
I don't want to unlock the BL as I want to keep the warranty.

There is but it can seriously mess your phone. Apps such as kingroot can root your device without having you to unlock the phone but these apps have a bad reputation. So recommend to root by classical method.

Doing the classic method do I lose my warranty? Unlocking bootloader Huawei knows I've rooted my device...

Either way you will lose warranty. Using kingroot etc will void your warranty.
Only software warranty will be void not hardware.

No. You won't be able to update via ota (over the air) nor you will be able to update via Update.APP. However you can flash update.zip via twrp. You can find it on xda. It will erase your data though.

I have used zip file to successfully install root from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/stable-2016-09-01supersu-v2-78-release-t3452703
Get it from the link where it says for *** Xperia users, and others experiencing bootloops ***.

The answer you are looking for is : Flash Magisk or Supersu in Recovery. If you use Google Play Store, banking apps then you need to flash Magisk to pass safetynet. This answer is literally posted a thousand on XDA.
