[Official][ROM] Paranoid Android ROM [Z5C] - Xperia Z5 Compact General

Unknown to many, Paranoid android has an official build for Suzuran
http://get.aospa.co/official/suzuran
The paranoid team does not like to use xda - so thats why there has been little information of this around
Hope you all enjoy, seems like a good ROM!

-its 6.0.1
-camera upside down
-front camera colors inverted
-camera crashing

Did you try other camera app?

Any news on the current PA? On the forums here seems like camera sensor is upside down and fingerprint scanner wasn't working as of 2016.
I really liked paranoid android on my nexus 7.

jb camera working alternative

Hi. I notice jellybean ROMs all have camera problems to some degree. I use camera ICS from market and it works fine for me on every jb ROM I have tried. Perhaps someone with knowledge can find out why this app connects and uses the camera OK while the jb camera app does not. Its a little bit laggy I guess but very usable. Camera jb from market does not however work.
Regards
I tried your suggestions. However the video camera still doesn't work for me. Still camera works normally.
I am using [ROM][4.1.1] Jelly Bean | CyanogenMod10 [BETA 0.36][26.09.12].
Are you saying, that you have video working?

Illusion Video Camera is working for me on Nikez Lente pre-alpha10
The video camera is working with some glitches on p11.
I use FxCamera for camere alternate, Video Cam Illusion for video.
Hope Nikez / elk759 fix the Camera issues in future JB ROMs..
I hope so too, i don't want to change my desire...
Miui camera works fine
I am looking for an alternative too. Let's just hope these camera issues will be resolved soon. I am using CameraFX for taking photos, even though the stock camera works with minor glitches. Video recording doesn't work at all
Most of the market cameras is that they are either 4:3 or take lower resolution pictures. Still looking.

Camera Quality (Comparison of various Rom Cameras)

This thread is solely created to compare the same picture (same exposure setting, ISO, focus, shutter time, etc) captured by the camera of various ROMS. Comparing like this is very effective to assess the quality of the camera and help the developers improve it
Feel free to suggest your favourite roms and I'll be happy to compare them all side by side. (Yes ! I've got a tripod to take steady pictures ). You can also post pictures taken (Sticking to the purpose of the thread can be helpful), they being the same images taken in different ROMs. I will post pictures from every rom weekly or biweekly
Most of the pictures will be indoors, so that the lighting is equal for every rom camera shoot
THE FULL SIZED PICTURES CAN BE FOUND IN MY DRIVE
THE PICTURES PROVIDED ARE CHOSEN AMONG THE MANY PICTURES SHOT FOR BETTER COMPARISON. THIS THREAD ISN'T AIMED TO PROVE WHICH ROM IS BETTER ! EVERYONE HAS DIFFERENT TASTES AND CHOICES ! HENCE THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS TO HELP EACH PERSON TO CHOOSE HIS INTERESTED ROMS BASED ON CAMERA QUALITY !
For every picture taken, the following were the settings
Auto Exposure : Frame Average
Picture Quality : 100%
Zero Shutter Lag : Off
Rest else Auto and same settings
The following are the ROMs to be compared
1.) Cyanogen OS 13
2.) Cyanogen MOD 13 (Not sure if there is gonna be any notable difference between the two)
3.) H2Os 2.0
4.) Oxygen OS 2.1.4
5.) Sultan's CM 13 (8th August Build)
6.) Latest JgCaap's (Color OS Blobs - Darkobas builds also have the same blobs)
7.) Latest Exodus
8.) Latest CandySix
9.) Latest Orion OS
10.) Marsh (20th June Build)
11.) Latest TugaPower (Both MM and N)
I guess a comparison between blobs is going to be more practical than including roms with the same hal!!And afaik we have 3 hals
Sultan:used in candy/RR CAF//Sultan Cm13//
Coloros: Used in Jgcap
And Cm:used in most of cm based roms
You can check this post for the differences
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67354980&postcount=10
I dunno about h2os though.

Yea, I know. But even then Candy and Sultan's varied a little bit. So, Color OS, Sultan's and CM have been compared. I'll put some pictures of Oxygen and H2Os later
With sultan's camera is the picture quality setting at 95% or 100%? Also is Zero Shutter Lag turned on or off? (saw people saying quality is better with it off, dunno if true...)

CM vs ColorOS on jgcaap some time ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66739583&postcount=14860

Latest H2OS is the best
OOS 1.x.x vs OOS 3.x.x
Lineage OS Official (OOS 3.x.x blobs) and SlimNougat (OOS 1.x.x modded by Sultan)
Do a comparison of LineageOS 14.1, jgcaap CM13 (colorOS), sultanxda CM13 (OxygenOS blobs and his own camera HAL) and OxygenOS 3.1.4 port side-by-side. This would be very helpful!

CM HAL, OOS 1.xx blobs+sultan's HAL (this combination is present in sultanxda's CM13), colorOS and OOS 3.xx
Compare all in auto (indoor+outdoor). Then compare them all in auto settings with HDR. Compare video as well if possible (you can upload it to YouTube).
Thanks.

Auto settings may not be accurate to compare IMO. Having fixed parameters is better. Video is tough, but will give it a try. Kinda busy right now, so will upload them as soon as I get time

It makes me sad that no one tried implementing the color os hal other than jgcaap from my own experience sultans hal is meh compared to color os hal, and OOS hal isn't much better than sultans (cm hal is horrible, tried it once and never again). Both Sultan and OOS are seriously lacking clarity and low-light performance. All my pictures are fuzzy unless there's a direct light source. Whereas with color os, I've taken pics of beachfires at night and there's little to no fuzzies, and colors are accurate. I even manage to capture the suns light rays. The other hals for whatever reason struggled with that.

[APP] [PORT] MIUI Camera for Mi5 [REQUEST] [POLL]

I have used many ROMs based on Lineage OS here.
Testing camera performance especially front camera for selfie.
MIUI camera delivers exceptionally amazing selfies.
I have tested Open Camera on MIUI and the selfie quality went bad, selfies became dull as same as they are in Lineage cameras.
This means the App is the key to better selfies.
If its possible to Port that app, Many users on internet willing to donate for the same.
Also this will improve overall device feel and experience on LineageOS.
If this thread becomes capable to attract at least one developer who shows interest in this we will be lucky.
Participate with your ideas and try to attract Developers here.If you are willing to Donate for this project kindly do mention.
I've seen this happen on every Xiaomi phone I've owned. On all of them there's a thread of people really wanting a port of the MIUI camera, but on none of them is it possible. The MIUI camera is part of the MIUI framework and won't work without it. So unless someone makes a Magisk module of the MIUI framework that plays nicely with AOSP and ports the camera it won't be possible
Guys please participate in this thread.
Participation is only key to get Dev attention.

I just found this MIUI5 port that works on Marshmallow (I don't know if works in Nougat): (Sharing)(APP) MIUICamera App
Maybe this could help to find a way to port the newer versions.

Not useful, people who used it are saying it's working as a normal camera app only.
And I tried, not working in my phone.

I think that is just the app, it doesn't include the low level firmware optimisations. It doesn't work on the MI5,and it's based on MIUI5 which is 4years old. The fact that we haven't made progress post that is testiment to how difficult it is to port the camera firmware. Atm the only solution is dual bootiing, and using a MIUI based ROM if you go out to take pictures (like on a holiday). It's ****ty, but it's what we're stuck with. Google Camera works OK on Lineage for quick snaps anyway.
Wait for next update of the snap camera. I am sure it will rock
I have realized that MIUI has really developed its camera app over the time, even if some other camera app are launched. They will not catchup with this app. Hence if we have a scope to use this existing piece of work we must port it rather than focusing on other means.
I just hope some developer has seen this thread and considering to take on this project.
will a camera port be ever available?
I really like the MIUI camera because the focus peaking option, who else ?
guys I have talked to developers, they are saying that it's not possible to port this camera.
And if it was possible, someone in XDA community would have already ported it like these is Google camera.
So if you want great photos, be on MIUI.
Guys, Sad news is Developers have denied to make any such port.
They say MIUI camera has something to do with Miui framework also this camera is Closed Source.
Sadly in summary If you want to use your phone for camera stay on MIUI only.
Use raw shooting for max quality for both AOSP and MIUI. As it pulls raw data without any touch you can get superrior quality compared to MIUI camera app.
Rocketed from my Mi5

Looking for SLIM Oreo Rom

Title says all. The best 7.12 rom imo is Slim7. But I like pretty much 8.1 despite camera issues. Some recommendation pls?
Easy, nitrogen os ?. My daily driver for weeks, no issues. Vache has done a good job with this ROM.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/development/rom-nitrogen-os-beta-t3735891
For camera use the pixel mod, works well on nitrogen, occasionally it crashes, but it much more stable now. Turn off video stabilization, its borked. The picture quality is better then stock IMO, and the hdr+ takes awesome pics.

best camera app for Pie

Good afternoon fellas !
I'm writing to you in order to know which camera app you are using right now since I tried last port from Pixel 3 google camera with no results. Is there any port available to use bokeh or HDR+ in our SD801 powered devices?
I'm looking forward for a better camera than the Lineage OS stock one, which is the same since Lollypop days.
Kind regards.
as far as i know, the devs dont have the code for the camera api2 needed for these apps from Samsung. so we are stuck with mediocre camera in non-tw versions. so it doesnt matter what you try, as long as your ROM does not have the api2 support coded in, the app will not make full use of the api features.

Good afternoon! A nice camera is the only grail on S5, given that we are already blessed to have so many nice ROMs.
I recommend Google camera 3.1 from apkmirror to have hdr+
Or my A2 camera mod if you want a modern UI with interesting features
Also the lineage camera is being worked on by our maintainer so it should get even better soon
