I've had my axon 7 for about a month and the screen is so scratched up and I have no idea why. This is way worse than any other phone I've had in the past l.

I have no idea What you do with the device , but i have the Axon since lunch date and NO scratch on screen or body and I'm a heavy user.
That means you somehow have sand around, because those are the only small particles that are hard enough to scratch the screen. I don't take chances, I keep my Axon 7 in a cloth sleeve (that was meant for a PSP) when it's in my pocket. It's basically a microfiber pocket in my pocket, keeps it safe and actually cleans the screen on contact. Be happy that at least it's not Gorilla Glass 5, that stuff scratches seemingly as easily as regular glass.
Edit: Since this thread is somehow still alive, I want to clarify that Gorilla Glass 5 in fact does NOT scratch more easily than 4. That was a mistake a reviewer made which he later debunked and explained why it happened. GG5 is roughly as scratch resistant as GG4, so anyone getting a new phone with GG5 don't worry about it.

Same here. I have mine about a month and i'm a very heavy user and not a scratch in sight.

I used the stupid screen protector they included with the phone and no damage to it whatsoever
Mine has somehow got a small tiny scratch too. However, my cousin also has an axon 7 and no scratches yet after more than 2 months. So I don't think its a screen problem but probably ran into sand or something like @Cyrus D. suggested.
These aren't just little dots. These are huge lines that are somewhat circular shaped. I have no idea what happened.
is parts available ?cant seem to find it on ebay

Jerryrigeverything, on Youtube, tests the ruggedness of many phones. His Axon 7 tests show that it is indeed a very durable device. The screen has top-tier scratch resistance -- the same as all the flagship devices, including the iPhone 7.
Check out his video here: Axon 7 Durability Test - Scratch, Burn, Bend
I had the same problem. Had the Moto X Pure for almost a year, no scratches (raised speaker grills probably helped) but I got scratches on the Axon after just a couple days. It luckily wasn't too bad before I through the included screen protector on, which has also gotten badly scratched and attracts fingerprints like no other protector I've had. On the market for a tempered glass protector now.
My Axon 7 experience
I got my L uoxV i mean Axon 7 in january 5, i kept the stock screen protector for 2 weeks, got super scratched, then i take it off to apply the one that comes as extra, when i apply it, there are millions of bubbles even after blowing and wiping, so i left it naked, then 1 day i lay it face down on a school desk, and when i pick it up, my screen has lvl 6 and 7 deep mohs scale of hardness scratches all over my screen!!! i wanted to die, then one day i got my key and as a joke drew circles at the top, and there are scratches too!!! wtf i thought this was more scratch resistant and there are also lots of little circles and scratches everywhere, like you can feel them with your nail! so annoying :crying:
I have my Axon 7 since launch also and it's spotless. No screen protector and no case on the weekends. I work commercial construction and my case always is full of dust. I take the case of, wipe the phone and it looks new again.
Circular patterns sound like you tried to clean the screen with some sand on it.
A single sand particle can ruin your screen if you rub it in with your shirt or something.
I always try to blow the big particles of and do a very soft wipe without any pressure.
Only then would I try to clean of fingerprints.
Same on me. There are a lot of minor scratchs on my screen. is there gg4 really?
I have mine for about 3 months no cover and always in my pocket, I'm twon commuter nothing extreme. Screen looks worse than my 4 year old Samsung S3, I have china version is it possible that they used some low quality glass, and it looks like they did it.
No problems on my Chinese version. No scratches at all on mine.
three months, no screen protector and no case, always in pocket at work (dusty place) and I walk to work and back home for 1 hour with phone in my pocket. there is one little scratch that I can see sometimes in good lighting conditions. but else it looks as the first day. I never put it on screen on table or another surface and it once fell out of pocket while I was sitting.
"Help! I took poor care of my phone but it's ZTE's fault!"
That's too bad. Used my without a case for about a week before getting the full body protection from Skinomi in the mail.
https://www.amazon.com/Screen-Prote...qid=1488396108&sr=8-4&keywords=skinomi+axon+7
I always use this when I purchase a new device (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, HTC One M8). All these previous devices were sold months later in almost new condition. Not a single scratch in sight.
For my Axon 7, I just used the front and back protectors and it is just spotlessly perfect.

Maybe not scratch proof but I would probably say scratch resistant. I have hand my omnia7 for 7-8 months and it has one small scratch less than half a centimeter and thinner than a hair. it is only visible when the screen is off and i have cleaned it well or when it is on a white screen, if looking very closly there is slight discolouration.
i dont take perticular care of what goes in my pocket with my phone and and not extra cautious though i have only dropped my phone once onto a wooden floor.
in short I have a scratch that is barely noticable and i am not looking for a screen protector as i belive the disadvantages of haveing one would outweight the tiny advantage that having one may have. also i dont think anyone with a screen protector that has the scratch that i have would consider the bother of replacing it!
hope that helps!

thank you, NikD1.
Mine fell down, and - how else could it be - on the screen. This has happened now three times I think. Not a single scratch. Not even the tiniest one.
That screen is really great!
As I hate using protection foils that made me buy this phone
By accident dropped it 2-3 times, holds very well. The screen/phone i have in a special case tighten to the belt so that it does not get any scratches on the screen.
Amazes me that i don't have the tinniest scratch on my screen; the screen seems to be very effective against scratches and damages.
No case, no screen protector, always in my pocket, but separate from keys or coins
Fell once or twice from my hands, marble floor
Fell maybe 3 times from the table, marble floor
Fell twice down the road, on concrete
...plus it was submerged in beer !
it hold perfectly, but I do see a tiny dent right in the center of the screen when sunlight is quite strong. Nothing major, though
My HTC Desire at this point was way more battered
I don't use a case or screen protector and I've got the phone in my pocket everyday. After a few months still not a single scratch
I've had mine for 8 months and I have several scratches on mine. they are all from sitting in my pocket without anything else in them.
I noticed my first scratch quite early on (within a few months) but these scratches are actually pretty hard to see and you have to be looking for them pretty deliberately to see them.
I wonder if it is the same with the other folks... you may have scratches on your screen but you probably can't see them very well.
i dont understand why samsung dont have used glorilla glass for this device
When I compare my Omnia7 with my former phone(Xperia X1) is Omnia7's screen like a rock, but you can scratch if you carry it with key's or any sharp objects...
I carry my omnia in a Case around my waist and have no scartches yet

AFAIK it IS gorilla glass. (As it is the same as for the wave)
I don't think it has Gorilla glass, I got my phone, it was shiny and new, no scratches on the screen whatsoever (I inspected it thoroughly for defects) and after a few days of using, noticed a scratch when I cleaned the screen, thin as a hair but 2cm long Thankfully when I applied the screen protector, it has hidden it really well. I barely used the phone and I always kept it in my left pocket (which I only ever exclusively use for my mobile phone!)
i also have some scratches. after a month of use they appeared. i have no idea how they got there, i take a very good care of the phone, it never gets into contact with anything other than my fingers.
but the scratches are only noticeable when the screen is perfectly clean (which is almost never), turned of and looked from a specific angle.
I have more issues with grease. those guys are killing me.
Oh my god, so i'd better buy a screen protector for my omnia 7 :-(((
Yes, Gorilla Glass... After 3 months of use I still don't have a scratch (knock on wood) even without a screen protector...
no, it's not I am pretty sure... I got a little scratch now... I just want to cry now....
All I know is that both me and my sister got Omnia 7s back in November last year.
I put a screen protector and case on mine and am very careful with my phone and its still perfect.
She on the other hand has no case and no screen protector and is not very careful with her things. She has one little scratch on hers where her dog knocked it across a tile floor. It has been dropped numerous times and shoved in a bag with all sorts.
I'd say it's pretty resiliant.
A used phone without any scratches on the screen is a disgrace
Gorilla glass, even with the proper branding aren't totally scratch proof, to the best of my knowledge. Anyway, two omnia7 for 8 months, not a scratch (almost )
Hi,
I'll keep the question brief. The screen on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus got a scratch right away after opening whereas the Nexus 7 16gb that I bought back in July has been outstanding without a single scratch. Has anyone who received the phone and has been using it without a screen protector noticed any scratches (given that you keep it in a pocket by itself, so no keys, etc)? Ideally it shouldn't because my Nexus 7 didnt and I have put it through its paces. Thank you.
Ya know... the most common source of scratches are grains of dirt or sand, which has a tendency to collect in pockets. If and when you feel any, turn your pocket inside-out and slap it a couple of times to get rid of it.

I agree with that. But I'm trying to gauge whether I need preventative measures. If its like the Nexus 7, there wont be any scratches from my own experiences.

With all my previous phones (HTC Sensation, Galaxy SII, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy SIII) I always went with screen protectors right away. However, I found that they never looked perfect and in my opinion they always looked worse than a couple scratches would if I left the screen bare. With this phone I decided to just go without a screen protector altogether. The way I see it now is that the glass IS the screen protector designed to protect the digitizer.
And for reference, my first N4 was defective out of the box so I immediately ordered an RMA unit. I used that time with the first N4 to really utilize it in daily use without babying it or caring about scratches. I've placed it on its face on all sorts of counter tops, slid it across tables, and accidentally banged it on random objects. Today my RMA unit came and I inspected the first N4 before packaging it up to send it off. And I am happy to report that the phone had absolutely NO scratches or scuffs. This thing is more durable than my Galaxy Nexus was, that I am sure of.

That's what I was saying. The one I "abused" had absolutely no scratches or scuffs on it when I packaged it up today to send back to Google.
Also, keep in mind many people are reporting that screen protectors are really affecting the sensitivity of the N4's screen more than other phones. In my opinion, it would be rather silly to put something on the screen that makes the phone less usable just for the sake of protecting it.

Ever since Google authorized an RMA for me, I've been sorta "abusing" the phone. No problem at all. Whereas, I got scratches here and there on my Galaxy Nexus when I used the same way now.
But, in my opinion, having a few scratches here and there looks much better than when it is covered with a screen protector that is more prone to scratches than the screen itself.
Changing the direction of the thread since it is related to the screen. So I opened it today. The screen from what I had seen on YouTube and read was that the screen was superior to galaxy nexus.
On using it I see striations of lines like 1366*768 on my 15.6 laptop. I think that there is something wrong because every background including the virtual buttons other than white have vertical lines that I can distinguish. Can someone please confirm or deny these vertical lines on grey, blue backgrounds. Is this the screen technology or just this specific phone that I received? I have nexus 7 and this had been perfect in every sense. Its not as high resolution as nexus 4 but the pixels are a result of both horizontal and vertical lines colliding resulting in no vertical striations.

Yeah my heart just sank too--the front appeared more scratch resistant than the back to me. The back of mine had a deep scrape within the first day of use just from being in my purse. Now I see MANY very fine scrapes on the front. WTH! It's not even two weeks old!

Yeah, I have been babying the mess out of my N4, but what I thought was a hair turned out to be a scratch deep enough to be felt by a fingernail running across it. The upsetting part is that the back of my device is fine, but the scratch is on the screen. I don't understand how my GNex only has a few scuffs on it, and it's been treated much worse than the N4, but the N4 just somehow managed to get "lucky" and find that somewhat sharp particle that sliced it up good. Starting to make me dislike Corning a bit.

I looked at my phone this morning and noticed 3 fine scratches near the top right hand corner of my phone. I also had that heart sinking feeling. I have a Galaxy Nexus prior and i didn't have a single scratch on the screen .
with the screen on that scratch doesn't affect the display at all only when i try to look for it. i still don't know how it got them =(
sighhhhhh
I have only had my Nexus 4 for 5 days and although I have left the screen protector that came with the phone on the back side, I have no screen protector on the front side.
So far no scratches whatsoever on the front screen and I keep the phone in my pockets.
My previous phone (Galaxy S2), which I had used for a year has a few small (hair like) scratches on its screen but its almost invisible when using the phone.

slippery back side glass
I have a Nexus 4 about 1 month, but I am much more afraid about scratches on the back. This phone is very slippery when I put it on the back and surface is not completely flat, even a very small angle and Nexus 4 starts moving down the hill. IT already fell down on the ground when it was on the book on the table. But no damage yet.
I've been keeping the phone in my pocket without screen protectors (now in a microfiber sunglasses pouch) and don't have the slightest scratch on the front, it seems very strong. The back is a different story, I would say it is definitely not the same material as the front glass.
Despite my concerns about the glass back on the Nexus 4, I went ahead and got one, for various reasons (my other leading contender was a HTC One X+).
But I hate cases. Just wondering if anybody who has had the Nexus 4 for a while has been using it without a case or bumper (or screen protector). How has that gone? Glass back okay? Cracks? Scratches?

I received my phone at the end of November and didn't have any protection on it. It lasted until this week, when the glass back shattered (not from any impact, I believe it was the result of temperature differences). It had gotten a little bit of wear and tear, with a few hairline scratches on the glass.
If you want to keep your phone in pristine condition, wrap it up. If you're okay with it getting wear and tear, the bumper should be fine. If you go bare, I believe it's probably just a matter of time before something happens.
I've been using the Nexus 4 with a Diztronic case and it seems fine, however I'm still awaiting an OtterBox for my Nexus 4.

I'm not using protection... It is just a matter of time before something happens... But in the mean time this phone feels and looks awesome.
I'm an architect and it has always bothered me to cover up nice design... Though, I do wish they had prioritized durability in their design criteria...
P
I got n4 when it first came out so there were no decent cases around. I used my phone naked for about two weeks and ended up with three scratches on the back and a few more on the bezel.
I now have the LG bumper and a screen protector on the back. The front is holding on line a champ though so im not using protection.
I got the scratches because the phone feel of my desk twice (be careful is really slippery).

not a single scratch!
The phone comes with a screen protector on the back that is so clear and thin, that I didn't even realize it was there, It has protected the actual phone from scratches. Though a body screen protector is on it's way and a nice hybrid case that covers the front too. I'm not rough with my phones, but my GS2 has almost no bezel left from the nicks. And my hopes are to sell the Nexus 4 for enough to buy the nexus 5 when it comes out (as many people seem to have been able to do that with the galaxy nexus)
Thanks for the replies.
Yeah, for now I've left the plastic covering that comes on the back, since it's not very noticeable anyway. Maybe I'll get a bumper at some point. It's the experiences of people who have the back shatter without any obvious impact that worries me.

Oddly, it was unseasonably warm last week, with morning temperatures in the mid-40's and highs near 70. I suspect that the phone warmed up from using the GPS (Nexus 4 owners know how warm they can get) and then because I had ambient air coming out of the vents, that cooled it down. Over the course of two months of doing this, it probably weakened the glass and then one day, it all just gave out.
I bought a screen protector for the front and back, the screen looked horrible so took it off. Back protector is still on

I posted about this earlier but I had it less than a week and was so careful with it because of what I read and noticed a hairline crack about a 1/2 inch long starting from the middle edge. No drops or anything. I immediately ordered a Zagg protector and only put it on the back. I'm hoping it stops it from running any further.
I haven't put it on the front because I hate the way it feels, and the Gorilla Glass seems to resist scratches very well; unless you do something stupid like keep it in the same pocket as keys or change or something. I had my SII for almost 2 years with no screen protection and the front glass looks brand new. And the front of this is Gorilla Glass 2 so hopefully it will hold up even better.
I wish they would have used the same glass on the back as the front, but I'm sure the cost would have been too much.

Used mine for 2 months without any protection. Fell once on the pavement, got few bad dings on the chrome plastic bezel, guess it's time for a bumper to cover that up. Also has couple of scratches on the back. Front glass looks perfect so far.
I used my first nexus 4 without any protection and after a month, the back glass had lots of scratches and the front only a few ones (usually invisible). Then I had problems with it and I placed a RMA, this one has had from the first day a screen protector and a TPU case.
Got my Nexus 4 a few days ago but was still waiting on my case to come in. I decided not to take off the front and back screen protector that came with it.
Good thing I didn't too because yesterday I was listening to music on my phone. A coworker bumped into me and it fell out of my hand (about chest height) and landed face down. I was in shock and couldn't move for a good 6 seconds. Thoughts were racing through my head. Lol. I was like yup. Only two days in and my phone is shattered. It's done for.
I picked it up and there were a lot of scratches on the screen. My face was so sour. I tried to rub it off but it wouldn't come off. After work, I went inside my car and looked at it again. I decided to take the screen protector off. Lo and behold, the screen was pristine. Not a single crack or scratch. I was so relieved. Lol.
My case finally came in today. I would advise for a case to at least protect the back. I won't be using a screen protector though.

I can't stand cases or screen protectors. I carry the phone in the front pocket of my jeans and a case simply makes the phone too bulky to carry for me. Nothing ever goes in the same pocket as my phone, so I don't worry about scratches so much.
That being said, over time there is no way to prevent the back and sides from being scuffed up. Not only that, this phone is pretty slippery totally naked. To solve these two problems, I use Skinomi carbon fiber skins not only on this N4 as I did on my GS2 and my Transformer Prime and dock. I like to keep my devices in mint condition for resale value. I highly recommend.
I've had a Cruzerlite TPU case on my N4 since day one. Still in perfect condition. I ordered the official bumper when it went back in stock last week. I don't like it. Way too slippery, especially compared to the grip the TPU case provides. The bumper looks better, it's sexy, I'll give it that... but the device doesn't feel secure in my hands at all. I went back to the TPU case and I'm returning the bumper.
This is the first phone I've used a case on. I generally hate the added bulk and covering the design. But the horror stories about the glass back are far too numerous to go naked with the N4. The Cruzerlite case is quite thin and I've grown to like it.
I bought case but don't use it .
No screen protector from last 1 month .
I do have protector for back but not any case.
I just be careful not to drop my phone . I did drop it once but it was from 2 feet on the carpet . have no scratch on front or back but screen need to be cleaned cause It gets dirty.
Only scratched I got is on the bezzel and it was due to my case so I stopped using case.

I got my Nexus 6P a week from last Wednesday and everything has been fine. I have been researching cases and tempered glass screen protectors trying to find the best ones. In the meantime I have been treating my 6P like it was made of glass (Which I guess is part true) and always being cognizant of where I set it and how I move when it is in my pocket.
Long story short I was sitting on a friends hardwood floor in a new pair of pants and the phone slid out. It slid maybe two inches onto the floor, but it was face down. It wasn't until the next day I noticed two rather large scratches down the front, maybe an inch long. It's really noticeable with the screen off, and even a little noticeable with the screen on. With full brightness I can see slight discolored lines. I checked the phone under a bright light and also notice at least 5 other micro scratches all over the front.
I'm absolutely pissed and kicking myself for not waiting to use the phone until my case and screen protector got here. I guess I am just wondering if there is anything I can do. Can I somehow return the phone and buy a new one later? Will they notice the scratches and not accept it? If I can't do anything I suppose I'll have to live with it and just learn from this. I'm kind of surprised how easily it scratched given how hyped up Gorilla Glass 4 was. My Nexus 5 never had a screen protector and didn't scratch until the second year I had it.

that is bs if the glass is that soft, seems like a defect to me.
i use this tg on my 6 and 6p, they are very nice. i bought about 5 or so different for the 6 to find out which one was best. this one was the clear winner for quality and proper fit. same seems true on the one i put on the 6p.
It was some sand. Unfortunately, though keys wont make a mark and you can take a knife to it without a trace, GG remains completely vulnerable to scratches from grains of sand.

Ugh, that's what I figured. Any way I can get a replacement from Google? Return it in this shape or convince them it's got a defect somehow?
I believe you have 14 days from the day you received it to return it if you are unhappy with it. No restrictions

My apologies, that's not my intention at all. I should have worded it better. I'm just so frustrated with the situation and kicking myself for it.
Bummer, hope it works out for you...

This. Saying this for so long. Metal is softer than glass. Not going to scratch it. The only thing that will is silica.. Dirt and sand, gravel, etc.. If it slid screen side down and there was sand grains on the floor it's just bad luck.

If you got that $89 Nexus coverage, you get damage replacement x2 for 2 years. Deductible is I think $79.

I had same issue, Google said they can't help at all. They told me to contact Huawei Support @ 888-548-2934,Saturday & Sunday / 8:00am-4:00pm /Pacific Standard Time. Their hours seem weird to me, but whatever. I'm going to give them a call this weekend, keep you posted.
Outch, that's why I preordered those tamp. Glasses that were like 25 cents on amazon months ago, they did not have sensor cut but still applied first day and waited like 2 weeks for replacements with cut at no charge.
I too learned from my nexus 5, which for my luck had scratches right by dead pixels, RMA no problem, did not know had dead pixels until I read online was one of the most common issues with N5, I just downloaded a dead pixel app from app store and did the tests, dead pixels and scratches the app showed me, good luck to get replacement, good luck to you too.
Easy answer is screnn protector. If your a reader of xda then theres plenty of warnings. Hope its not to bad.

Wow that's unlucky, had mine for almost 2 weeks before my protectors arrived kept mine in one of my socks.
I work around football stadiums and not a single scratch from all that sand floating around in the pits and camera positions around the pitch but then it was buried in my pocket and a sock.
I never rock a phone without screen protectors for to long, I'd say you got unlucky same happened to my nexus 7 2 days after I got it.
I'd say if you can live with it let sleeping dogs lie, any chance its in the oliophobic coating ? If so give it a good clean with some very high proof IPA might clear it up but remove the layer.
Not really an issue if it helps then you slap a protector on.
Hi
I got my S7 3 weeks ago and overall it is a very nice phone.
However, I'm very disappointed how easily it scratches. I've always been good with not scratching my previous phones and especially with this brand new phone, I've been careful never to have it in my pocket with keys etc. Haven't dropped it a single time or done any other stupid things. Yet I already have plenty of scratches, even some pretty deep ones. The only explanation I can think of is that one day I had the phone in my pocket with my employee card (in a plastic casing, but no sharp edges etc.) and another day with my credit card. Also, I can't exclude the possibility that the head phones (but not the jack) may have swept the surface or that it may have hit the ziplcok of my jacket when taking it out. Either way, all completely trivial things I've done to tons of phones and never had a scratch problem. I noticed the first scratch a week ago, felt a bit bummed but it was very small so just thought I would be more careful. But today I found two new scratches, and one of them is pretty big! And I absolutely can't explain how it got there.
I was happy about this phone, now I'm just thinking how I can stand the wait for the 6 month contract to be up so I can get something to replace this piece of trash.
Considering that this phone is supposed to have Gorilla Glass 4 and the insane things it should withstand, I feel very angry and disappointed that I could be in this situation even after having been so careful. I even thought for a moment maybe the plastic protection screen was still on, because it feels like it scratches as easily as cheap plastic. I feel ripped off and actually think this should be a warranty issue. But would like to know if others had this experience with S7. I have found other threads about people commenting it scratches very easily, but that was from the early days. Now you have had it for a few weeks, how do you feel?
Also I would like to warn others who already bought this phone to be extremely careful and consider a case/bumper for it. And also, to people who haven't bought it yet, if you don't like cases and bumpers (which I don't) strongly consider if this phone is for you!
This is sad. I guess Corning took four step backwards with their gorilla glass 4.

I can confirm this phone scratches almost easier than any phone I've ever owned (and that's multiple flagships from multiple mfg's several times a year for YEARS)
The only phone that scratched as easy was the Nexus 4 and the S6 Edge+
It's really micro scratches, probably in the oleophobic coating, but damn.. and some may ask why didn't this happen on the Note 5? or the S6?
I can guess.. it's because the curve of the screen causes it to come into contact with surfaces more than a flat phone. Same thing with the S6 Edge+
Price you pay for the aesthetic. But it is micro scratches.. have to hold it at an angle in direct sunlight to see them.. I have 2 already. I always use a dedicated pocket with nothing else in it, and baby my devices like you wouldn't believe.
So yeah, it's annoying, but a deal breaker? Nah. This phone's badass.

I've had mine since the 8th of March and no scratches here. Where as the S6 edge I had scratched in 2 days.

I must agree with the thought of the curved glass causing it to come into contact with different objects. I've had my edge since launch day and I've got micro scratches close to the home button. Happened on my 6 edge too. I look at my wife's S4 active and there's not a single scratch on it. I baby mine by keeping clean pockets and watching wear i put it. She has a no care attitude about hers. Always thought corning would make progress with the newer versions but with the 6 last year and the 7 this year it seems like they regressed.
the glass maybe made in china
I've always used a case and a screen protector on all my devices, and this is no different, my only problem was that I didn't want to cover up the phone's look as I love the silver look on mine, I've always had black phones so this was a must for me, I loved the way it felt bare in my hands but scared me how delicate it also felt. I got the clear spigen neo hybrid case with the silver bumper/trim and it accents the look of the phone with minimal coverage while protecting it. I hate the difference in feel of the glass with a screen protector but I guess is a trade off for protection.

This is why i put a screen protector on day one.
Im waiting on my protector for this phone tho.
Sucks not having a protector on.
Better to screen that and replace it then strach your screen and not be able to.
Also most people misd understand the glass.
Rocks and sand are what sratch the screen the most.
Keys, knives , metal. Normally done.
Its all about a hardness. And something cant be sratch by something softer then it.
And glass is made from sand so it can scratch itself pretty easy.
So you might have had a small amount somewhere.
Hello,
Same for me. Never had scratches on my phones and now I got 3 little scratches. Can't understand how this could happen! Very dissapointed ?
i never use cases or films, took my s7 to the beach and got 2 micro scratches from the sand in my pocket but they are impossible to see without taking at least 3 seconds to find them at certain angles, the screen looks brand new really... usually id see heaps of easily visible micro scratches after going to the beach... just reporting my experience.
I can also confirm the S7 Edge definitely scratches more easily than the S6 Edge. Very disappointing.
Do you mean screen scratches or cover scratches? It is very strange that a gorilla glass 4 scratch so easily.
Sended from my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Gold Platinum
fully wrapped mine with protective film and screen protector since day one... don't want to take any chances.
but sad to hear that it is so easily scratched
its really does scratches fast.. didnt do anything besides putting it in the dock as desk clock and occasional two time walk around and it has a dual line of micro scracthes ... all you need to do is take wet finger and swipe across the screen all the scratches will be visible.
How come gorilla glass got scratches ? Maybe its not gorilla glass lying samsung shame on u
barely 24 hours into using the phone already scratched like mad. just in and out of empty pocket & several calls.
i've used 4s, 6s+, z3, 1+2 all NEVER scratched like S7e on day ONE itself. what a freaking shame.
#glassgate
I'm using it every day, I also dropped it twice, no screeches.
well i droped my phone twice now one with cover where the case took a few cracks not phone
and
second time it fell flat on the screen from bit below your knee to foot hight its fine no scratches or damage no cracked glass was really lucky
also i use am Iring now to prevent my phone from falling and it also works as a stand for your phone its a great product
my phone is s7 edge
oh im also using back cover debrand skin and screen protector at first i used a tampered glass but it kept poping out so i cchanged it to film
im extra careful no matter how good the screen is i wouldn't want any scratches
I don't even think they put real gorila glass on the back. I never put any kind of protection on my screens and never got any scratches on it. This stands true for the s7 edge, but the back is scratched even by the interior of a case for crying out loud.
I can confirm they are terrible.
I've also had this phone for a month now, and after a few days of using it it now has some small and one big "scar" which Samsung support and service says it's my fault, and of course they will do nothing about it..
I ordered a screen protector, but twice, it came broken, so I'll try a different store, which is sad to see since my S4, after more than 4 years is still scratch free!
