Did I Brick my new Verizon Galaxy S7 edge? SM-G935VV?? - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Recently I had tried rooting my phone and was certainly successful at it until I wanted to get Superman rom. Since then I downloaded it on my computer ran it on twrp on my phone but then after going through the configuration screen it booted into installation mode but then failed after a minute, resulting my phone to go into not being able to start up. The screen flashed something along the lines of "not able to load with secure boot". Secure boot must've turned on or something like that because it was totally off when I started the process, and I couldn't go into my phone besides download mode/recovery. Since I booted it up in download mode, erased partition all the options in recovery mode, and loaded it up original firmware based on my phone in odin3. Then I loaded the original firmware file being called "VZW_G935VVRU1APB1_G935VVZW1APB1_CL7042442_QB8595625_REV02_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.zip" unzipped and put all the necessary parts in their places, AP, BL ,CP, CSC. After trying it multiple times I was dumb and clicked re partition because odin3 would fail to flash until I re partitioned it. Ever since then my phone is blank and no commands work. My phone is a Samsung S7 Edge that was rooted, I have an micro SD if there is a way of unbricking my phone...

Go to the service center
I think "Box" will fix it

I understand. I used to be anoob back in the day messing with s3 and hard bricked it. I had to send it off to get jtag. I wonder if you had a jig could it force it into download mode. I have one somewhere and just can not seem to find it.

[Q] Firmware upgrade encountered an issue

It looks like I got myself in a pickle. I have a GS4 running 4.2.2. I picked up my phone today and successfully rooted it with instructions from DroidView using files from chainfire. I then installed CWM recovery with ROM Manager and backed up my ROM with it. I decided to replace chainfires SU with the one fom CWM like I had on my S3. After rebooting from recovery mode I noticed I had lost root so I used the same method to root it again because I thought it had reset itself. Before the reboot occurred there was option to prevent the possibility of the ROM flashing itself to stock. I went to select the Yes option but bumped the power button which selected No. While trying to reroot and failing, the phone displayed the message "Invalid percent of drawing download progress bar." On reboot the error “Firmware upgrade encountered an issue“ along with a cone and a couple of other pics. I have tried to get into recovery mode several times but repeatedly get this error. I can get into download mode and have tried to flash the stock ROM for this phone but it fails in Odin 3.0.7. Odin sees my phone and verifies the md5 but fails very quickly upon clicking start. I tried this with KiesPDLR running in the background and disabled. I have not tried anything else out of concern for messing it up further. Attached are screenshots and log from ODIN along with the text that is being displayed in download mode. (I will have to post these later as the attachments option will not work properly on my wife's S3).
Two other notes. 1) I used ODIN 1.85 to root as that was what was included in the chainfire download. But I used ODIN 3.0.7 to try and unroot because that's what the DroidView directions said. Would it make any difference to use ODIN 1.85 to try and flash the stock firmware? It sees my phone as well but the F. Reset Time option is unchecked and grayed out and the directions says it needs to be checked. Don't know if that really makes a difference. 2) My phone is actually with US cellular but there is not a forum for this carrier. I chose this forum because my previous phone the Mesmerize had an identical model number as the Fascinate. Please do not pass over my request for help because of this as I am in dire need.

Try odin 1.85 I use that to odin back to stock and dont worry about the other ones just make sure auto reboot is checked.
Also are you sure the phone you have is the sprint gs4 sph l720 jfltespr?? Cause odin a tar file not for the phone could potentially brick the phone.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
I would try to download the stock rom from a different source if you can. These tar files are so large for this phone that the possibility of a bad download is pretty high. Also, make sure you don't have to extract the actual .tar file first from the archive you download. Lots of these stock roms are repackaged into a zip file and you need to extract the tar file for use in Odin before installing.
I am back in business. I have my phone and home internet back now. Yeah. I used the same stock ROM I had since it was the same as sammobile which was also a zip file and I already had it on my system. I just used Odin 1.85 instead. I guess I could have done this earlier and prevented a near stoke but everything else I had done seemed to get me deeper in a hole. These large zip files have always made me a bit nervous but I haven't found where to get one otherwise.
I have some follow up questions.
1) Why would it flash with Odin 1.85 and not with 3.0.7?
2) Is CWM's SU not compatible with the S4? Everything was working fine until I switched this from chainfire to CWM using ROM Manager.
3) Is there a good source with unzipped ROM's?
Chainfires SuperSU is much better with JellyBean than cwm SU. For some reason most people that try to switch to SU from SuperSU have the same problem you had.
Sent from my icrap 2 using Tapatalk HD
Okay. I decided to go with chainfires after this fun little ordeal. The few small things I preferred from CWM is not worth it. Besides it looks like chainfire made some upgrades since I last looked at it. I guess I was lucky with my S3 because I converted several times.
Thanks for all the help everyone.

Restore not working for me

Hi Everyone I'm not even sure if anyone is going to reply to this but heres the deal. yesterday i flashed a custom rom to my phone s4 (sgh-i337m unlocked carrier) i have twrp3 installed for custom restore and i did make a restore file when my phone was still on lollipop, and i think that the backup worked because the boot screen is back to stock but now heres my issue, i power up my phone i get past the "galaxy s4" screen but get stuck on the samsung animation, i gave up on it after it sitting there for 2 hours then i removed the battery and then flash installed 7.x nougut onto it, but cant get playstore but thats just minor but what i do want is to go back to full stock no root, i feel that ive made a mistake and im just not comfortable with it anymore even if i loose all my stuff thats fine ive had the phone for a week, i do have odin on my computer but dont know how to use it because theres icons like bl, ap, cp and csc i dont know what those are well i know ap for installing twrp. I'm needing help like yesterday
You will have to download the stock ROM and flash it with Odin. Stock ROMs can be downloaded from sammobile.com, but download speeds are slow for non-premium users.
Flash guides can be found with everywhere.
Confirm that the model # is sgh-i337m in download mode. If it is, do this:
download Odin 3.07: https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=...168421&usg=AFQjCNHMbaSWjgVwWQGtMVr1TvJSsXWUcA
download the latest 5.01 firmware from here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s4/SGH-I337M/BMC/download/I337MVLSGQB1/125370/ (This is for Bell but it doesn't matter because Rogers, Bell, Telus, Koodo, and Fido use the same ROM with some minor carrier customization). Unzip the file once to create a tar.md5 file;
put the phone into download mode;
open Odin and click on PDA, select the tar.md5 file;
connect the phone to the computer using the original Samsung USB cable;
uncheck everything except f reset time and flash the phone;
when you see the word RESET in the status window, remove the USB cable from the phone, remove the battery, replace the battery; boot the phone into recovery mode, factory reset, and reboot.

Thankyou i did fully verify everything before hand and yes it is sgh-i337m i actually got a different rom fully working and i do thank all users that did view and help me out. I did find a way to get gapps installed wothout issues. I still cant restore the device back to stock but i actually bought a replacement stock phone and use this one that were communicating on now. So now i have two phones completely identical minus the fact that one is unlocked from at&t and the other was never locked to anything.

Took a while but finally acquired 2 stock roms one telus and one sasktel. I will probably do a rom swap one day
The non-aws version of the s4 sold in Canada is the sgh-i337m. You can cross flash roms from any carrier as they are all the same except for a bit of customisation by adding their own apps.
A quick download source is updato.com.
Btw, the Canadian s4 forum is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-att
I'm stuck also on the samsung animation screen, and flashing a stock rom does nothing for me it's stuck. I can't even go into stock recovery. everytime i do try it just say recovery booting and loops back into samsung screen. is there any way to fix this?
Thanks I'm new to the site and didn't know there was a Canadian s4 forum, I thought it was a specific device forum because my phone isn't att because att is not active on my area, we have telus, koodo, rogers, sasktel and bell

One thing I did because I was in the same boat and it sounds like your stuck in a soft boot is download lots of roms to a SD card and trial and error, use the latest version of twrp and flash the first version of twrp to the phone with Odin there's lots of YouTube videos to assist you, also when using a custom rom (in my experience) is that you also have to download gapps to gain the full google/android experience and it's safer to download apps with Google playstore compared to using a browser. Also when flashing remember to wipe catche and delvic before rebooting. Hope this helps and if your using the same kinda device as me I'd recommend the 7.1.2 rom by JDC it works pretty good and it feels like the s8

Need help unbricking my Galaxy S7 edge SM-G935P phone

I flashed the firmware from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-s7-edge/how-to/6-8-t-mobile-935u-firmware-qe2-t3619151 along with the Tmobile radio via Odin 3.13.1, it failed in Odin and now the phone is stuck on the samsung logo. I used the BL and the AP from the zip, the CP I used from the separate tmobile download link. For the CSC I first tried the CSC that is in the package and when that failed I tried the HOME CSC even that failed. the User data I kept blank both times.. Then I tried it a third time same as above except in the CSC I put the CSC file from the zip and in Userdata I put the Home CSC file, it failed again. Am i doing something wrong ?
Update: I have been trying to flash the stock firmware from samobile, but I am unable to do even that. It keeps failing. I downloaded the firmware from here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...S5BRA1/206887/, extracted it, added just the AP and as per instructions went in to download mode, clicked on start and it keeps failing. In Options only auto reboot and f reset is clicked.
I would really appreciate any help to unbrick this device, it is stuck on an exclamation mark saying " An error has occurred while updating the device software. Use the emergency recovery function in the smart switch PC software". Smartswitch is not recognizing this device saying it's an unsupported device so emergency restore software wont work from there. I can get it into download mode but as I said flashing the firmware via Odin is not working. I can also get it into recovery mode but it keeps endlessly trying to update, fail and loop back to trying to update.
Thanks in advance.
Firstly I would check your use cable, I have a bunch and not all of them work. Secondly, make sure that your phone is being recognized on PC, hence the cable check. and third, make sure you are flashing the correct firmware. You said TMB, but I see you are flashing 3 different company files. Hi back to full G935P firmware , you front need to flash TMB on t, it should be fine cause I have a g935p with TMB sim in it
Anything else I'll be glad to help

just checking... are you using the edited princecomsy odin? http://d-h.st/gsDA or use the link here https://forum.xda-developers.com/att-s7-edge/help/princes-odin-t3545104
find the correct rom here https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-s7-edge/how-to/odin-stock-nougat-firmware-s7-edge-t3569834
just use files from one rom at a time. get good at that first. maybe you are careful but it really looks like you were guessing what goes where at the end of your post.
i just have tips on what helped me. passing along the info and the link.

Im actually on the G935U rom from jrkruse. If you are on the latest firmware just skip the flashing of the stock U firmware. Just flash eng boot, root it, and follow his process in his t-mobile thread for flashing in flashfire. When aroma starts it asks you what kernel to flash just choose tmobile and it works instantly. But fo APN settings whatbi had was this:
Name
T-Mobile US LTE
Apn
fast.t-mobile.com
Mmsc
http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
Apn Type
default,supl,mms or Internet+MMS

I managed to flash back the Sprint firmware. I feel the problem is Sprint is probably the only one with an upgraded baseband due to their last update. Both the TMO and U firmwares are based on the 4 baseband G930TUVS4BRA1 and the last Sprint update put it on a 5 baseband G935PVPS5BRA1. That is what is causing for it to fail, I feel. Do you think if I follow the eng.boot method I should be able to overcome the problem ?

Okay the problem you are having is that you are actually on bootloader 5 not baseband 5. So that number represents the bootloader and there is no way of downgrading as of yet. Samsung does this thing with fuses on the phone being blown as the bootloader upgrades, well as far as i know from the s8&s8+. So your problem you are having is that you are trying to flash a previous bootloader which isn't going to happen. Flashing the QK5 or the BRA1 firmware will work. Cause it's on bootloader 5. I'd you do what I said a couple posts ago you'll be fine I'm still running the U series tom with tmo kernel installed and I have actually had 0 issues so far. It's been completely solid and everything works, data, sms, Wi-Fi calling, etc...... it works after flashing and boot. With the Sprint tom I got headache after headache and the activating thing is annoying. Just do what I said and you'll see a that what jrkruse then did is probably going to be the only best thing the Sprint variant gets. Try it

Thanks for your reply. If it is not too much can you please break down the steps a bit more because I don't want to guess and mess it up again and also if you could please kindly point me to the other thread as well so I can download the appropriate stuff from there and read a bit more about it. I am right now unable to use the phone with the sprint firmware on it on TMo, it's super annoying.
Thanks in advance.

Don't mind all the instructions there .
1. Download the flashfire zip file and place it in your phone.
2. Download the Ufirm_multi_carrier.zip and unzip it and place the AP or TaR on your phone(the file that's inside the zip)
3. Make sure to use the eng boot and the root provided in this thread and root your phone.(root is a pain but it's worth doing for this room.)
(Note, if you have flashfire stuck on enumerating partitions you can try rebooting or Google flashfire latest app or flashfire 0.73 app and download and install it)
4. In flashfire allow root permissions and select zip and choose flashfire flashable.zip and select mount system read/write,
5. In flashfire select firmware and select the AP or TaR that you downloaded and it should have all partitions checked. Leave it and press the check mark.
6. Make sure that SuperSU is not injected. MNow click on wipe and select dalvik/cache format cache .
7. The order should be firmware then zip then wipe in flashfire.
8. Click the flash tab at bottom in flashfire.
9. In aroma, select the wipe SuperSU image, I think it's selection 2, and the rest of it is entirely up to you for what carrier you are on and so forth.
There is no need to download the Ufirmware stock for Odin because it won't stick because if the new software you have on your phone. Please make sure you know what you are doing to apply these things. These instructions worked for me and if you choose to do otherwise that's on you. I claim no responsibility for bricked devices or what you create . Flashing is a risk that we all take and it's entirely up to you.
Any more questions I'll be glad to answer. Trying to get the oreo working but having issues.

First up, thanks a lot for your help. After a lot of tries I managed to root the phone or so I thought and that's what the phone said after I ran the root.bat file on the computer and the phone rebooted. I downloaded the flashfire app but when I turned it on it says "root access could not be acquired, are you rooted ?".
After I ran the root.bat file and the phone rebooted the phone clearly said it was rooted. How do I go ahead now ?

Get the root from the thread in the link I provided .
In the file there should be something OS something flash the bat file in there it kills all Sprint stuff. Then do the root.batch file and don't worry when it removes all the SuperSU, flashfire, and so on, it's normal okay do on to the painful part......
In the command screen or terminal, it'll say to press a button when your phone has registered on the PC., this is probably where you are messing up. Watch your computer screen until the s7 pips up and watch your phone when it says Allow, MAKE SURE YOU TAP ALLOW! wait for your phone to click off on the PC and then click back on( it takes a while) then press whatever button you like and watch the terminal, if it has errors then it's not rooted if it is rooted then the terminal will close and your phone will reboot. Then proceed to flashfire and do it's thing. For good measure when your phone is booted open SuperSU app first and you'll know if your rooted. Let me know if you need more help
thats pretty interesting being on the binary 5 baseband and binary 4 rom. to clarify, you were on the binary 5 rom and reverted? or were you on the baseband 4 and upgraded just the baseband? thanks for the info.

I odined the AP_Nougat_S7_Edge_EngBoot.tar.md5 then ran the root.bat file from Nougat_S7_Root_2_82_All_Carriers_V2 , I chose the options to install the fingerprint fix and install the root without any gpu tweaks. I watched the whole process complete and the cmd prompt close, my phone never asked my permission to ALLOW anything, everything was on the computer. I ran the root.bat from cmd as an administrator and the program ran evidently because it asked me about the fingerprint fix and root with or without tweaks etc. I noticed the phone reboot and there was a notification, the phone was rooted but no SU and flashwire says no root access. I tried it back from square one a couple of tries more right back from flashing stock sprint firmware and trying the whole rooting process again, same results except the next two times the phone doesn't reboot after running the root.bat file. I notice now when the phone boots up there is a sign saying "CUSTOM" beneath the samsung logo on the screen. I don't know where I am going wrong in the process though. I don't know if it is because I am on the binary 5 however I also read somewhere that people have been successful in rooting their binary 5 sprint S7 edges. I have rooted many devices before and installed roms etc, this has been, by far, the most perplexing phone in every which way.
Fownt know what to say, but, you are saying that you are on binary 5 and have successfully downgraded bootloader's by flashing stock vzw firmware which is on binary 4? I don't think downgrading is possible yet?? The way I explained it to you is exactly how I did mine numerous times. I can no longer assist you though because, I kinda bricked my s7edge,
Here's something for everyone to note on a DONT DO!!!!
Do not flash the latest ENG_BOOT AND COMBO FIRMWARE.
I think it was the binary 5 QK1 eng boot and combo I forget, but after flashing back to stock firmware you will get a SBL ERROR in upload mode and let me tell you....... It is not fun at all. I had all the files necessary for unbricking, the complete restore files, I tried the z3x box, I tried octoplus, and I tried the uni-android tools and nothing flashes it over. It's insane. But I ended up sort of destroying the body of the phone but not the internal, so I now have a skeleton phone and no screen or mid frame.
So I wish you luck and probably a final goodbye to Samsung and their insaniy with phones.

Bummer about your phone. On a glad note I managed to root and flash my phone and everything works great now. I was taking the hard nerdy way to do it by running cmd as an administrator and having that run the root.bat file. I read somewhere else you could just double click the file and it worked for me . From there on the aroma part was pretty straightforward. I am grateful to you for pointing me in this direction and breaking it down for me, I seriously doubted me being able to achieve this on my binary 5 phone but it turned out to be smooth.
I do wish you the best and thanks once again.

What firmware files do I need to complete reflash my Note 4 SM-N910F?

I got a bricked Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (910F) vodafone branded.
it's totally broken I can't start it, can't go into recovery (the hardware buttons are OK).
I can only go into download mode.
tried flashing everything with odin back to stock. followed many different instructions and now I'm lost.
can someone tell me what exact files I need?
I think I have the right firmware downloaded BUT what about the bootloader? on sammobile under germany-vodafone there are so many different versions which one shall I choose?
AND: Do I need CSC? if so which one and where to find? Couldn't find it on sammobile.
And am I right with putting the bootloader under BL, the firmware under AP, the CP (whatever this is) under CP, the csc under csc?
repartition unchecked as I read somewhere.
I still don't understand what this "pit" file is for and I'm not sure if I have the right one.. never had a phone with sooo many different firmware files..
I'm used to flash via fastboot "recovery.img, boot.img, system.img" odin is a new thing for me
HELP PLEASEEE :'(
the reactivation lock is on.

The note 4 firmware is usually only 1 file that contains all you need. It contains the bootloader and CSC that you pick during download. Just pick the CSC for your country.
This is unless you get a 4 file repair firmware, which contains separate bootloader, system, and CSC files.
The pit file is only needed to repartition your device.
But with all off that aside, you state that your activation lock is activated. These means the phone was password protected.
If you tell me your country, I can at least point you to the correct firmware. So at least you'll know you got the correct one.
But as far as the activation lock, I can't help with that. "Google"
Edit. I now see you mentioned Germany Voda.
So here's the most current firmware for your device.
https://fws03.updato.com/GALAXYNOTE4/SM-N910F/TCL/SM-N910F_1_20171228192640_l5rw6mqv67.zip
Download and unzip.
Then if it's just 1 file that's .md5 then you put it in AP slot.
If it's 4 files put them in appropriate slots.

This reactivation lock doesn't matter I found a solution how to bypass it when the phone is set up running android.
my question is, is it possible to flash firmware to the note4 at all with reactivation lock on? Or is that just an android thingy?
And yes please that would be nice if you show me the right firmware.
My model:
N910F GSMH
I believe it is vodafone branded because when it once worked it showed a vodafone logo while starting up.
my country is Germany.
I hope thats enough info :/

I believe it should still flash with lock. If it isn't flashing something is wrong.
If you can't get Odin to flash that firmware try this and see what happens.
Download TWRP and flash it. Can you boot into recovery then? If so download a custom rom and flash it and see what happens.
TWRP: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/trlte/twrp-3.2.1-0-trlte.img.tar
Do you have Samsung drivers installed on PC? http://developer.samsung.com/common/download/check.do?actId=698
Do you have a good Odin? https://dl.sammobile.com/Odin3-v3.13.1.zip

I have the right latest samsung drivers installed yes.
I have the Odin version you just sent a link of. ( I also tried different older versions but no success).
I can't boot into recovery doesn't work. the hardware buttons are 100% working as I have to press vol+ to confirm to go into download mode.
I tried flashing TWRP and CWM both didn't work "custom recovery blocked by A/L error".
I can successfully flash firmware with Odin. It says "PASS" and then the phone reboots and is stuck on Samsung Logo. and sometimes it just shows blue text "recovery booting" but is stuck. nothing happens.

Thanks for the link I'm downloading.
After flashing odin says PASS and my note 4 reboots. then there are 2 cases which in my view appear randomly. Either it shows the samsung logo and is stuck.
OR it shows the samsung logo and a blue little text in the upper left corner saying "recovery booting" and is stuck. I waited like 5 minutes. shall I wait longer? :/ hm..I'll try
OH and sometimes the screen just goes black idk if it really turns off after getting stuck on samsung logo.
Pull the battery, leave it out for 10+ minutes
Put battery back in
Boot to download mode (Power + Vol Down + Home)
Then try (re)flashing stock ROM via odin, i would try the earliest you can find to have the best chance, you can always flash a later one if you get it running
Better range of ROMS from sammobile, i never use updato for that reason: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-note4/SM-N910F/VD2/
If none of that works, then its likely you have a hardware fault ...emmc or other

So I tried flashing. after flashing OH WONDER it said recovery booting and then it showed this green android logo thing with a rotating icon in it "you know what I mean" but then it stopped and just turned off.. I could freak out really.. I tried flashing again. same issue. I could then press the recovery mode key combo to get into this rotating android logo screen but everytime it just freezes and turns off. yes the battery is fully charged before I started flashing this firmware now. I flashed the one u said the earliest. So Now I tried the one the other guy here showed me. didn't work either. it just gets stuck at samsung logo. I found a repair firmware for my model containing (pit, bl, ap, cp, csc and odin) I flashed all but odin fails "write error". I then tried odin v3.0.7 but then it got stuck while flashing the system image. I waited like 1 hour. nothing. tried it again. nothing it freezes on the same position. I then tried the same on the latest versions of odin v3.12.3, 3.12.7 and on 3.13.1 but it also freezes on system.img.ext4 image flashing..

doesnt work. I tried several versions of smartswitch AND samsung kies. nothing works it always says my model is not supported. I reinstalled drivers. tried on another pc. tried another usb port. yes I'm using the original stock usb cable. model not supported. But I've also read that in other threads that the 910F model seems to be unknown by kies or smartswitch. I'm rly starting to hate samsung now. I have never ever had so many problems with flashing and so on.

afaik the "repair" fimeware is no better than flashing a stock ROM in one file...
its startng to sound like a hardware error, if it cant even write to the dvice theres really not many (probably any) options left.
ive purposely bricked a phone and recovered it (not recommended of course), ive never had or never saw as much effort youve put in to try and recover a phone...

me neither.. can't believe this.. how can a phone be physically damaged by flashing? paid 70 bugs for a note 4 with a software issue.. as I often do. recovered dead phones from sony, xiaomi, wiko, asus, lg, huawei etc... adb, fastboot and u good to go. odin is killin me.. gonna sell it as bricked.

HOW? If I can't boot into recovery mode?

bricked sm-t580

the only thing i can do is get into download mode - but i fail when i try to install a stock rom via odin - after NAND Write Start!! it times out and gives me a fail.
i already tried a 3 different odin versions and adroid 6.0, 7.0 and 8.01 Stock Rom for SM-T580 but no luck so far.
another problem is my friend does not know what the android version he was on before that hapend - and the tablet has Samsung FRP on.
maybe some of the experts here have an advice what i can try otherwise this tab a is really bricked - furthermore i wonder how this could happen as my friend swears he did not try to put twrp or anything else onto the tablet ....
Have you tried flashing TWRP using ODIN? (AP Slot)
i do not know if flashing twrp is a good idea as i do not know if oem unlock is enabled - and as it does not boot up i cannot switch it on in developer options

Wouldn't it simply fail if OEM unlocking was disabled? I don't know honestly. I'd try it if no other solutions come up.

I think you are going about it wrong. Instead of booting to download mode, try booting to recovery mode via Home, Vol Up and Power and then selecting Factory Reset. This is always necessary before you can use download to flash a ROM via Odin and it might make using Odin unnecessary.
of course i tried to get into receovery mode but the problem is i can't - when i do home, vol up and power absolutely nothing happens, i only get into download mode
edit: i believe FRP is the Problem this prevents odin from writing the files to the tablet - as it allways times out with :
Complete(Write) operation failed.

what i do not really understand is why FRP does not let odin flash an original samsung firmware ?
[QUOTE what i do not really understand is why FRP does not let odin flash an original samsung firmware ?[/QUOTE]
This sounds more like a binary issue. I have reason to believe you are what's called an FRP Binary Lock. Recovery is usually inaccessable or re-routed and you cannot "seem" to use Odin3 but in fact you can. This issue you apparently are having sounds oddly like some issues I've had on these devices and is often a result of bad Rooting or invalid firmware being installed. This overloads the binaries and puts the device in a locked mode with symptoms of an inaccessible Recovery a difficult to use Odin3 or a bootloop. Most of the time I hear of a notification somewhere of an FRP lock. If this is the situation you are in here is a link to a page of mine that will give you the files to helpfully solve your issue. Let me know if that works or not.

The situation I was suspecting is a "Custom Binaries are Blocked by FRP Lock" to which you would have seen a notification of it in one of 4 ways. Your situation is somewhat similar because you cannot access Recovey and although Download Mode is accessable it appears useless. Your device is not Bricked. A bricked device is unusable in any way and these days most devices can be restored.
You do seem to be having some difficulties that are usually common with binary issues. You can in fact use Odin3 but how is the question. Usually one can flash in the Stock firmware and that returns the device to normal. When it becomes impossible to flash in stock firmware or anything else it seems, to my experiance has always been a Binary issue. I will provide a link to the 4File Official firmware. And instructions for you to properly use it for your needs.
SM-T580 Official Stock Firmware 4Files

I'll assume you know something about using Odin3. Unzip the file to your desktop. There are 4 files but you'll only use 3 of them. You can use the patched version of Odin3.13B or you can use Odin3.14. Place the files in their respective places. BL, and AP are easy enough to see where they go. Now there is a file labeled CSC and one labeled HOME CSC. You will only use one of them. The CSC file returns your app data to factory settings (it erases everything). The Home CSC file keeps the app data. So it's your choice which one you choose. These are Official Firmware Files so you should be able to flash them in. Should that not work for you my most likely answer would be that your binaries are the issue and that is why you can't as of yet use Odin sucessfully. Does Odin even try to initiate a flash then stalls or does it do nothing altogether?
There are two different Binary files for the SM-T580 that I have. I would suggest using the Binary 4 FRP first. f I recall correctly the Odin3.13B patched version was made for this. Place the file in the AP section and try flashing it. You should get a few gears on the screen turning if it applied, or maybe not. If that fails use the U4 Binary Unlock file. It is only after you flash in the binary files that you can then install the Stock Firmware. It is the overloaded binaries that prevent the use of Odin as you may be experiancing. I am also including the Knox cleaner in case you need to reset it.

U4 Binaries. This is two files. Flash one at a time using the AP section. They are labeled 1rst or 2nd

Good Luck and let me know if this helps or not.

I think you are going about it wrong. Instead of booting to download mode, try booting to recovery mode via Home, Vol Up and Power and then selecting Factory Reset. This is always necessary before you can use download to flash a ROM via Odin and it might make using Odin unnecessary.
Click to collapse
Only if they could get into Recovery they may be able to reset it.
I have never once needed to go to Recovery to do "anything" before using Odin3 to flash.
The only time I've had to go there (repetedly) and reset was when trying to get past FRP Google Account Protection. Sometimes it takes out the page I want to get to and I need to reset it to get to it again. This is "not" always neccesary before flashing a ROM which rewrites the device programing.
sorry for double post
@Casper Young
thanks for your help so far, i am gonna try your suggestions on weekend when i have a bit more spare time - hope i can get the tab running again
