If you want to know exactly what is running on your device and how much of your precious system resources are being used, check out acbTaskMan. It's got most of the features of the desktop version of Task Manager, plus the ability to chart the CPU usage of single processes and the power consumption of your device.
Get the most from your device and reduce the drain on you battery. Here's the link:

You can also get the free battery meter acbPowerMeter from there.

Does the powerchart in this app work for the HTC Wizard...more specifically the 8125?? I ask because several months ago i read a review stating it was not compatible.
Hi All,
I've seen a similar post regarding this issue but no answer as to why Xcpuscalar eats approx 40% constantly when the device is left idle. When first starting Xcpuscalar all appears to be ok. Then after about 30-60 seconds the cpu usage of Xcpuscalar shoots up to about 40% and stays there. You can see this either using the health meters page, the task bar CPU meter or any other tool such as task manager/Supertasks.
Never saw this issue on my Xda II. Does anyone else see this? Is it normal? I don't want to use this application if it is going to constantly eat my battery because of cpu usage it uses.
Cheers,
Richard.
What version of Xcpu are you using?
Try out the latest!
Underclock to improve battery life
This is purely in theory, but I was wondering if underclocking the cpu would allow for a little more battery time, like say setting it to 416mhz. Any thoughts anyone?
Try task manager and you will know which process eats cpu usage while you running xcpuscalar, may be xcpuscalar itself consumes cpu usage.
Then when you find which process uses more usage kill that process if it is not necessary or you can find why it eats lot of usage.
I hope someone can help me out or try to explain why do I have such a high CPU usage of process "irq/182-host_sp"?
If I check in SpareParts --> Battery History --> CPU, this process uses by far the most of my battery, I think it's like over 30 minutes of 100% CPU load.
I'm using stock v1.10 ROM rooted and slightly modded to get the Google experience.
I would be greatly thankfull if you could check your CPU usage in SpareParts when you have less than 30% of your battery left, so I can see if I'm the only one or this occours to everyone.
And please state your ROM type/name.
I've rooted my N4 yesterday and since then my battery is dying quicker than before. The weird thing is, that there are no wakelooks present, but the average load is really high (see the screens below). I've had xposed installed, but removed it to locate the problem exactly.
So do you see similar values? To check it, open up the developer options and check the "Show CPU usage" (nearly at the bottom).

In my case system_server is causing the high load, at least this is what the overlay suggests. Any thoughts?

Hi, mine not so high, 1.5-2.0 in idle, but still is high because, on other 4 core smartfone (Cortex-A9) I have 0.05 in idle time.
yep, my note edge (posting here because there's more people) has the same values.. 13/13/13 , I don' think it's normal (they should be around 1 shouldnt they?) but have no idea how to change that...
also system_server is the top process in my case too..
If anyone else could post their results here it would be a great help since I can't find anything online about how these values are supposed to look on a note 4..
Also high CPU load average
I have a Galaxy Note Edge on 5.1.1 and I also wonder why I have like 13/15/18 idle CPU load average. Just like OP, system_server and com.android.systemui and surfaceflinger are usually the top 3 when idle.
I used Trepn Power Profiler and also saw my CPU frequency of CPU1 and CPU2 always fluctuates between 0.4 to 1.2Ghz and that System UI always uses 3-4% in CPU monitor.
How can I find out why my S7 Edge have to be changes 2- 3 times arbejde day and before only one ?
Disable runding background runding apps ?

Depends on your usage.
But if the battery drains faster, yes, you should check the apps running in the background.
Try to install a battery or data manager app and track your phone's usage. You could find something relevant.
Possibly a rogue app keeping your phone awake and stopping your cpu from going to sleep. I find Gsam battery monitor very good for monitoring app battery usage and cpu states, you can also enable more detailed reporting stats by using adb and the app guides you through how to do this.
If you goto settings then device maintenance, click battery and scroll down to always sleeping apps and add everything you don't need running in the background. Me adding all my apps made my battery last longer especially at night when its idle.
