I want to spend some time developing a 'sleep mode' for android wear. I often sleep with it on and would like a mode which keeps the light off while I'm asleep.
Has there been any effort in implementing this, and how would you proceed?

Click to collapse
That would be really awesome.

Bump to that!
thats a nice idea
Great idea. I'd suggest activating sleep mode either when the watch is placed in the charger, or give users the ability to set start and stop times for sleep mode.
I agree, thats cool. It would be great if the smartwatch 3 could stand in low energy mode without light all the time. Because the smartwatch 3 has a transflective display. You could read the time with display-light off.
The closest I've seen is the sleep as android app. I've tried with mixed results but I never seem to get the watch lighting up while sleeping
There seems to be a sleep mode on the next update wear 5.0...you can get the screen on by Double tapping screen or by pressing the crown button

Bump!
Would really love this, an app that unchecks the ”Always-on screen” setting for selected hours of the day, so that the watch automatically turns screen of when you sleep for example…
Oh please..... We need this
I hate manually turning off the watch before bed and back on in the morning. But I did get 36 hours with 9% battery left on my LG G Watch using this method
Someone should write an app that can auto toggle the new theater mode at night/quiet hours
I usually turn the watch in airplane mode in the night... Burns 1% per hr battery overnight on my moto 360

Not much more you can do, unless you're willing to try the following....
When phone is not in use for a while (say 15mins & overnight), use the 'Ultra' battery setting in Battery Manager. You can still send & receive calls & texts with this enabled. I only lose 1-2% overnight (~8 hours) with this setting enabled.
To make the setting quickly & easily accessible, you'll want to edit the drop-down Shortcuts menu to place the 'Ultra battery' shortcut in a better position - please refer to pic enclosed to view where I've placed it in my P8.
Exiting this 'Ultra' saving mode is also easily done from the main screen, & it only takes a few seconds to return the phone to full functionality - watch the latter part of this video to view exiting in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ks003FSdHyI
Let us know if it has made any improvement for you.
ı know ultra battery mode but in day use not functional
It's disgusting for me too, but a bit less than 2% per hour.

Hi all,
I wanna use the S8 with Dex as low energy consuming entertainment system in my mobile home.
I tried the LG G5 and I'm nervous now ... Some unfixable problems ...
Some questions please
1. In Dex mode, goes the screen in standby?
With my LG G5 and MHL adapter the screen is staying black ... And never standby ... Waste of energy
2. If you let the phone in the station is the batterie staying full? With lte network, Wi-Fi hotspot and some usage like netflix.
My LG G5 is not staying full batterie ... Sometimes till 0%...
Greetings Chillcamper
Screen does go off on the phone while docked, and the phone charges as normal on the Dex, does not drain while using.
Hey Nazty,
ok cool.
But I'm talking about the monitor.
I'm using an Asus 27 inch monitor.
The monitor is at the moment never going in standby.
It's just black and it is not stopping ... It will never go in standby. This it a huge energy drain
Is the connected monitor going in standby with the Dex station?
Would you check this please?
Greetings Markus
Push, common please, it's important for me.
Is the connected monitor going in standby if you let everything connected and stop usage like at the pc?
I wanna let it permanent connected together.
Greetings Chillcamper
Since my ticwatch I've noticed that there isn't any app so you can adjust profiles according to time/day or scenario.
Right now what I miss more now on my Galaxy watch 5 is a simple app that disconnects bluetooth at night and turn back on in the morning. I'm putting in flight mode manually at night and saves a lot of battery since I started to make this.
I know that Fossil whatces have a battery save profile that seems fantastic but I imagine since messes with sytem can't be ported to other watches.
Anyone knows if there is such an app at least to turn on/off bluetooth on schedule. I have night mode on GW5 but only changes notifications with no other options. By the way I don't have a Samsung phone.
Hello!
I recently got a Oppo Watch to replace my previous wear os device because the battery of the previous one drained too fast.
Battery actually behaves way better, except for one thing: the sleep tracking, which drains between X5 and x9 of the previous model (and when I say x9 I mean almost an entire charge in 6 hours of sleeping)
I bought a smartwatch mainly to get a smart alarm. The previous one didn't have an integrated sleep monitoring app, so I chosen a third party one that included both sleep monitor and smart alarm... And consumed around 10% per night.
Oppo lasts longer for the rest, but during night drains 48-89% depending on the app used (I'm trying various options).
Now, without a third party app, the battery consumption at night is at normal levels (11%), so I suspect that the problem is that I run a second sleep tracker from the third party app while the native one of the device is running at the same time.. And the combination of the two put it under efforts that kills the battery.
For this reason, I would like to know how to disable the native sleep monitoring, so to check how the battery behaves running only the third party app one.
I navigated across all the app settings, but can't identify the sleep tracker to disable it.
Would somebody help me with exact indications on how to disable it?
Thank you in advance
