Hi,
my friend brougt me her S5 which acts really weird. When it's on mobile data, it is just impossible to use the phone. Acessing anything (apps, contacts, messages) takes forever, some apps like Messenger or Google play won't open at all.
But when I switch off the mobile data and run just on wifi, the phone comes back to life and works perfectly. All apps work etc.
I wiped and reset the phone week ago, it was working good for 6 days, but now it's back to not working good again.
Has anyone experienced similar issue. The processor load is 3x higher on 4g than on Wifi, dont know if that is normal. The original Android version is 6 marshmallow. She use SimpleMobile sim card, but it worked slow with my Tmobile card too. I set the APN correctly so it was not issue with that.
Can anyone advise?
Thank you :]

Hey guys, I'm desperately looking for some assistance with my issue of not having any data upload/download working on my G2. I've been using CyanogenMod 6.1.1 Stable without any issues, tried CM 7 Nightlies a few times, but have reverted back to CM 6.1.1 Stable. I've gone back and forth a couple times, all of which a complete wipe of the phone with nandroid restores.
For whatever reason, my phone shows 3G/H switch back & forth at random intervals, appearing as if it's doing something in a good way, but yet I am unable to do anything involving data communication (e.g. email, web browsing, Market, texting, etc). When I received the phone I continued using the old SIM card that worked fine in my MyTouch3G and now-returned MyTouch4G. It's been working flawlessly in here, but I had noticed something odd. I decided to give the Wi-Fi Calling app a try, as I wanted to make sure that I could at the very least still make/receive phone calls. When I turned that on, it informed me that I had an "invalid SIM card." Then I thought, perhaps the SIM card had become dislodged, so I removed it & inserted it back into the phone. Powered it on, and I was able to get a couple emails download and a text as well, but then it stopped again.
After doing some searching online, I learned other people have had data/voice issues when using old SIM cards, so I decided to use the brand new SIM card that shipped with my G2. Of course that meant I had to call T-Mobile customer support for them to activate the phone, and they did that for me. My data is still not working for me, so I don't know what else to try. She informed me there was a data outage in three cities north of me (maybe 20-40 miles away), but no cities in my area (Aurora, IL, about 45 miles west of Chicago). I also tried flashing CM 6.1.1 Stable from scratch (clean install), and that didn't make anything better.
I went the extra mile to truly rule out if there's an issue with my G2 (i.e. broken radio), by doing some additional testing. I inserted the SIM card in my old MyTouch3G, booted it up (which BTW still works like a champ), saw the same 3G/H in the notification bar, but still could NOT access anything that requires a data connection (e.g. email, web browsing, Market, texting, etc). This leads me to believe that there could be a data outage in my area, but damn it's been ALL FREAKIN' DAY man!
So what can I do to fix this? Any ides and/or suggestions? I am desperate to get this working, so if anyone can provide some assistance I would greatly appreciate it. THANK YOU!
Here are all the specs of my phone:
- S-OFF
- CyanogenMod 6.1.1 Stable with Pershoot's kernel
- radio is 26.03.02.26_M
UPDATE: My data connection seems to be working again, so I'm guessing it was a major outage for T-Mobile which lasted all day.
My data is down right now too. In my new orleans. It just happened around 4 pm.

This may sound simple but when I was jumping between ROM's I found that my mobile data toggle had turned off in the CyanogenMod settings.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did try that already. Also did the trick (which I forgot to mention) about trying to swap out APNs (wap.voicestream.com / epc.tmobile.com), and that didn't work.

Hi everyone
I have an X10a that is unlocked. (was locked to rogers) i have been using it unlocked for about a month and in the last couple days i have been having a problem with losing my data connection. The0 "H" will be beside the bars and if i go use anything that uses data it disappears. Nothing that requires data works (browser, gapps, twitter etc.)
I am currently running baseband .71 and have for a while now even before i unlocked phone with no problem.
i was running i different rom so decided to load a different rom now running GalaxyROMv02 which is having the same problems.
i have double checked the APN and tried an alternate one supplied by my carrier (sasktel) and niether has helped.
The data has kicked in for approx 30 seconds at time and a couple emails wil slip through.
The biggest kicker is on this phone my USB port is pooched. i have a second X10 with a cracked screen i use to charge the battery.
I don't know if there will be any way to bring this back to life but maybe someone has some ideas.
I can still send and recieve texts, and phone calls. it's just data that isn't working.
Any advice that anyone can offer would be great.
Thanks!
HELLO all!
Hello, earlier today i rooted my phone for the first time ever, ive never rooted any android phones myself before. so i followed one of a youtube videos using an Odin app, and taking "CF-AUTO-ROOT-HLTE-HLTEXX-SMN9005.tar.md5" as the pda.
as far as i remember, i went to the download setting(volume down, home and power; then volume up) on my phone and connected it to my laptop, then press start on odin. THATS ALL I DID. my phone eventually has been rooted. and guess what.. none of my apps, none of my browser connects to the internet, i am connected to the wifi, and i dont have any sim cards, i just use my note 3 as something like an ipod lol. the strange thing is, i can chat with my friends through whatsapp still, and no other apps can connect to internet, not even viber or any other chat apps. only whatsapp messaging. youtube app, playstore, stock browser, google chrome, nothing can connect to the internet!
can anyone help me to fix this problem? my phone is the unlocked one, bought in malaysia having 4.4.2 kitkat. its the note 3 LTE international version, the one with snapdragon 800.
thanks, Adilfadjri

So my s10+ (G975-F) was working just fine. After updating it to latest update, it has been acting really weird. The internet would stop working all of a sudden, like messages on messenger would not send, snapchat would not load, same with fac3bpok and chrome.
Anyone else facing thiis issue? Any help would be appreciated.
your mobile signal really poor.... one bar only...
wifi signal also 2 bar only, but... are you sure your wifi connection also running good ?

I have similar issue: No mobile data connection since updating to Android 10 on 12/31/2019. WiFi is working fine. Tried wiping the cache partition as suggested above. Tried restarting, resetting network. Tried calling carrier (Redpocket/Verizon) who did provisioning and taking out SIM card and reinserting/restarting. When switching SIM card to another phone (Galaxy S8+ using Android 9), no issue (Internet worked just fine). But another SIM card on my cell phone (Note 10+) didn't work either. So clearly the issue is with my phone (after the software update), not carrier. Took the phone to local Samsung store on 1/2/2020. Was told I was the first one reporting this since the Android rollout. They suggested factory reset which I am very hesitate to do. Then they suggested waiting for a patch to be released, if there will be one ever.
I am using Samsung Note 10+. I am in California.
Any advice? Thanks

May be i was in my blanket at that time , the conection os not the issue.
I upgraded my OnePlus 8 Pro to the STABLE release IN2025_11_F.13 but after booting I no longer have Mobile Data or Voice Service from Verizon. SMS still works fine, and the phone behaves fine otherwise. But what use is your primary phone without mobile service?
Anyone else experienced this or have a work around?
Spent an hour with VZW support and they were no use, before disconnecting me after 65 minutes.
Did you ever solve this? I just upgraded and lost the same, though I use two sims and tmobile seems to be working just fine.
Check APN settings
Tried APN settings and that didn't work either. Pretty annoying that my main phone number won't work and to fix it I'll have to downgrade back to 12 which will completely reset my phone. I love android but one feature android needs to implment is a way to completely backup and restore your phone. App data, home screen, and everything else.
