This should fix the sound problem on EU phones. Most manufacturers put a limit due to EU law. It is changeable with root, this was a similar case on Google nexus devices. Here is the fix for the Axon 7!
Ensure you have root.
Go to system-->etc and open the mixer_paths.xml file using an editor such as QuickEdit from the play store.
This below change is for the Standard setting in the headset hifi menu option.
Go to the line under <path name="headphones"> and change <ctl name="HP Out Volume" value="14" /> to a value you prefer. Do not go higher than 20.
This below change is for the Super setting in the headset hifi menu option.
Go to the lines under <path name="headphones-hi-fi"> and change <ctl name="AK4490 Lch Digital Volume" value="240" /> <ctl name="AK4490 Rch Digital Volume" value="240" /> to a value you prefer. Do not go higher than 255.
This below change is for Dolby setting.
Go to the line under <path name="headphones-dolby"> and change <ctl name="HP Out Volume" value="14" /> Do not go higher than 20.
Save and restart phone.
Check if that helps make your audio sound louder. Let me know!
I will wait for an official fix instead of hacking in mixer_paths (which I did with my op2 too tbh, but that's a diff story)
Haha its changing one line

I did change my recording gain too on op2. If you want to know how, let me know
Also, do you know when ZTE releases the bootloader unlock thing?
Just post it here and ill check it out.
I highly doubt ZTE will release an EU audio patch because like i said before it is an EU law to have it limited.
On B27 A2017U value is 19. Don't know if it helps.

This is specifically for the OnePlus 2, but you can try different values for it to work.

(And with my last question I mean the bootloader OTA, not the audio fixes)

Look it up on axon 7 github repo. It's in the sources for the CM port.
Zte could definitely make Axon 7 EU louder, much louder. I have also HTC 10 official European sale and it's even louder than American Axon 7.
Sent from my ZTE A2017U
Well if European HTC 10 is louder then ZTE has no excuse at all not providing minimum as US version.
Unless HTC is cheating and not apply EU rules on the his device.
Maybe they know that no one is actually interesting about HTC 10(struggling sales-very low interest from people so HTC do what ever want to do) without negative impact to them.
Btw I would prefer Axon 7 support aptX HD audio codec over loudness of 3.5 port, because I'm listening music through Bluetooth stereo hand free.

Hello Everyone,
For those of you music junkies out there, yall already know about PowerAmp. One of the preset settings called "Phone Speaker louder" is personally one of my favourite and keeps me coming back to this app. I just wanted to know if anyone was able to get equivalent loud sound using the DPSmanager app?
The reason I ask because although I like power-amp..I am using the trial version and I hate re-installing it every 30 days after the trial expires.
Anyone mind sharing their settings they use?
Thank You.

Poweramp worth it, buy it. I can't get more loudly with dsp or another sound app/settings... Just remember to take off the option "limit" the system and the app put a limit to the speakers and obviously without it the phone will get louder

I've searched the forums, but I can't find exactly what I'm looking for. I downloaded the HTC One system dump and it has multiple sound files for each volume level change on the device. I'm wondering if there's a simple way to port that over to the GS4 because I really like that effect. Any help would be appreciated.
Just search through your phones / system/media and change them to what you want. If you need more help feel free to send me a PM and whenever I get off work ill go more in depth

I've been tinkering with replacing UI sounds, but the One has a different flac file for each volume level and each sound is slightly higher in pitch than the last. I was searching through the system folder, but I didn't find anywhere that had the same multiple volume files, so I think it's something proprietary that they've got going on. Maybe it's just a part of the sense 5.0 UI.

I have ordered a G5 Plus from Flipkart(India) and it will come in 3-4 days. But I came to know that there's a serious background noise issue due to the secondary microphone currently which can be temporarily fixed if mono output is selected.
1. Is this a software/hardware issue?(An user reportedly got the update and said the update didn't fix the background noise issue)
2. People using a Custom ROM, do you face this issue?
3. Camera and video recording is an important and useful feature for me. Should I cancel the order and buy any other phone?
It looks to be hardware issue. Moto was unable to resolve the issue in the latest update. They are fooling users.

That's cancer.... No I can't tolerate their UI. XDA support is equally important as well. I am upgrading from a Moto G3. I just wish these problems were not there. If you know anyone who uses a custom ROM on his G5+ then please let me know if this background noise problem is there in a custom ROM or not. That will make the whole story clear, whether its a hardware issue or a software issue... That's why I posted this on XDA.

Even in the custom ROM the noise problem persist. Please check the custom ROM folder on XDA where the ROM dev mentioned the problem is there in the custom ROM.
So this has to be hardware problem.

Not necessarily. The problem likely is upstream in the code, perhaps at the level of the Hardware controllers. Every ROM will be using the same source a this level so every ROM will be affected in the same way.
I've seen problems like this in the past, it need to be fixed perhaps by Qualcomm itself.

Hello all!
Upgraded to OP5 after a bunch of rooted phones. I intend to keep this phone stock, so I'm having a little trouble figuring out the Equalizer. I find the sound using the current setup very flat, I'd highly appreciate if y'all could share a few Equalizer set ups for better sound using the stock Equalizer for better sound.
Thanks!

Thanx! i was able to download and install it on my Galaxy s6 edge, but when opening it closes right away.
I'm getting my OnePlus 5T December 15th, will try it out then, but still thanx :good:
I've been using my Dragonfly Red with a USB OTG cable on my Nexus 6P with the app USB Audio Player Pro.
On the OnePlus 5 the app does not recognise any audio device.
Shouldn't it work with this phone too?
works just fine with my oppo ha-2se, all music apps... even usb audio player pro.
Turned off the phone and plugged in the DAC before turning it back on and now it works.
I have the same issue with mine but with a Sound Blaster E5.
I tried what you did and had no luck on my end.
So, I reached out to OnePlus' support as it was working with other phones and they recognized there is indeed an issue. For now, my ticket has been escalated to a higher level for addressing the issue for a future update but haven't got a response yet from them.
If the situation gets a revelant update, I'll post it here.

No, it isn't, then that's not your problem. I still get connection problems when I plug in the headphones when the phone is running for a few hours without reboot, in that case, a reboot solves it.

So far, my ticket only got escalated to level 2 but no answer back yet. I will send a reply just to bump it up again so I don't get forgotten.
I know for sure that the E5 is not the issue. It's programmed the way it is supposed to be programmed for Android using Google's standards. The issue is on OnePlus' side. I have tried other USB DACs and none have worked. I don't know how it was possible for the OP to make the dragonfly works only by plugging it in before boot because my friend's dragonfly never connected using that method on mine.
I remember back on my Note 3 that some third party ROMs weren't compatible with USB audio. So I'm guessing that OnePlus just never thought of testing that out and making sure it's working.

Me neither. I'll ask them what's up with that. It's been like three updates that they had the logs about it and it is STILL not there.
How do you think I feel?

Still talking with them on the support ticket. They're trying to push the fault on Creative's side but I already talked to them beforehand and their product uses known standards that does not require to be tweaked for each specific devices (like, standard protocols are standards usually to ease compatibility, right?) so, the technical support discussion is still going on on my end. Honestly, this is frustrating.
