Sim Unlock Steps..Please - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Can someone please provide the full step by step instructions on how to carrier sim unlock a Samsung S7. I have had one unlocked by a service and watched them
do it 1 time but it was FAST and I missed parts. Thank you in advance.
P.s. If you can provide the software links for software to accomplish this as well that would be delightful as well

Basically, You need software and "access/authentication" to the software.
I will help you out, 1. z3x box samsung tools pro and 2. CGProKey.
You will need to buy the box/cable/dongle to grant you access to the actual program and its features.
The GS7 can be unlocked via regular micro USB, but you need the other cable/box/dongle for the actual software to "let you in".
Understood?

Thanks but....what about the other ways?

1st thank you for the reply.
This may be 1 way of doing it but I have watched a tech remote into my computer and within 15 min have the phone unlocked remotely. Can you tell me how
they did that?

With program and dongle/cable/loader....Cost $100-$150
They log into your computer and forward their USB ports to you...making your computer appear to have the cable/dongle/loader, therefore giving you access to the program features, therefore allowing you to unlock the phone.
Its not magic...

can you pm me.

Can someone give me code or tell me where to find to unlock boost moblie stylo 2
The Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile versions of the LG Stylo 2 (LS775) are not only carrier-locked, they are CDMA-only phones because the GSM capability is disabled in the firmware. In order to enable international GSM roaming, you must flash replacement firmware. There are several outfits that offer to do that on Ebay, with prices ranging from $10.99 to $30. It's not a simple code entry - they have to connect to your PC and load new firmware to the phone via a USB debug connection. But it does work.

First off, thanks for the info - great post.
like everyone else here, I'm having a problem unlocking my Boost-Mobile Stylo 2 (LGLS775). I noticed they made it practically impossible to switch carriers, there is no way to unlock the phone even with a code. When I switched sim cards I wasn't prompted with an option to unlock. So I tried other methods (like using the dial codes to prompt action with 2945#*775#, 2945#*71001#, and 2945#*20001#) with absolutely no avail.
Then I read your post, and it all makes sense now. It's disabled in the firmware for anything user end to prompt a carrier switch.
This is just evil.... anyways I looked up some Ebay sellers and found one who actually tells you were to download EVERYTHING needed for the process of unlocking the phone (No Z3X or Octoplus box required), the only problem is that I have no idea what I am supposed to do with all these files.
Here is the link to the seller's product below
http //wwwebaycom/itm/Unlock-Service-LG-Stylo-2-LS775-From-Sprint-Boost-Mobile-Virgin-Mobile-/142305877764
And this is where the seller asked the buyer to download all of the files
https //drivegooglecom/file/d/0BxP_zvOImZfnR0ZrOERMWHpSZWc/view
(I made an account specifically for this, URL needs colons after https and dots after www / drive and before com)
I'm currently just trying to figure this whole thing out little by little but if anyone wants to help pitch in it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it can, I just ordered it to be unlocked over Ebay. Turns out I was wrong with my earlier post. You have to replace the firmware, but since there are no KDZ files in existence for the phone you have to use a Z3X or Octoplus box. If you order an unlock over the internet they will just remote view on your pc and connect your USB inputs to theirs with flexihub on run the process as if they were doing it on their own. It sounds really sketchy and it is, but it works. Average cost is around 10 -15 dollars, and it takes around 15-60 mins. If you really want you can just do this yourself but you need to buy a smartcard box.
Thank you but when i tried the network 2945*#775 it doesn t do nothing can you please tell me why?

Hi,
Have you unsimlock your phone with ebay seller?

T-Mobile Galaxy S8 unlock with an Unlock Code

I have no Idea how to start but I will throw in whatever I have so far.
I ordered sim unlock from samsungsimunlock.com for $26 ($13 original price and $13 Pending Amount for Hard Locked phone). This morning I was provided the Unlock Code and an app called Network Unlock which looked like T-Mobile's device unlock app but was non functional. The instructions were clear, install the app and enter the unlock code when prompted, but only ended up with no Sim Unlock.
I checked Service Menu to find an option to enter Unlock Code but it was missing Phone Control menu option since T-Mobile restricted unlocks to their app.
Now I am wondering if I would be able to flash Verizon or ATT firmware and be able to enter the Unlock Code. I know people are still trying to figure out ways to install the firmware through Odin and no one has been successful so far. But I was just wondering if I would be able to change firmware to different carrier which has the option to enter unlock code.
Any replies or help would be really appreciated. And I can use my T-Mobile phone as test device if anyone has ideas.
You have to go through Tmobile's app if you have it locked to Tmobile's sim. Flashing another firmware may work but not guaranteed

I am facing the same problem...paid the $26.00 and got the code with the instructions. Followed everything and their app showed "Device is Permanently Unlocked" but when I tried another SIM card the phone showed that it was invalid and to use the T-Mobile unlock app
Working with the support people from samsungsimunlock.com right now but things don't look promising...
Did you reach out to samsungsimunlock.com or did you request a refund?
There code does not work at all and they are bs. I used blowfish unlocks and was able to get a code for the phone to be unlocked. The code works when you flash the rom for testing the phones. It accepts the code but when you reinstall the T-Mobile software the phone stays locked.
T-Mobile and there bul**** app... the app unlock server is down and I don't know if it will come back online. We will just have to wait for root and a unlock method
Just used the T-Mobile unlock app. It's been exactly 44 days since first use on the TMo network, so I gave it a shot. Easy peasy! Only needed a restart.
i just carried unlocked my s8+ from tmo,i send a message to T-force and they help me to unlock my phone in just 10 min,im from mexico and i bought it in brownsville tx
this site i explained to the after reading this and before ordering, they guaranteed me my phone will be unlocked which they failed to do ,now they dont reply to emails nor do they want to grant my refund requested

Just curious but when you said the code works when you flashed the rom for testing, did you try and then flash another carrier's rom (like AT&T, Sprint, or Verizon) rather than re-install the T-mobile software? Was it able to pick up a signal after it accepted the code while you were not on the T-mobile firmware?

SamsungSimUnlock.com are a SCAM!!!
Dear XDA people looking to unlock your phones,
The post below, is just a copy of this post (ht tps://forum.xda-developers. com/showpost.php?p=73084963&postcount=117), but for convenience I've copied it here:
Do not, again, DO NOT use samsungsimunlock.com. They scam people into sending them codes. I was scammed out of $26. Their website states they refund the money if it doesn't work, they don't.
Here is what happens (I've broken it down in a number of steps):
1. You go to their website, and order an unlock code. It states that it is $13. Great. You then wait.
2. You receive this e-mail:
Dear xxxx,
we have checked your order and found that the Unlock Code for your Samsung phone is available in our 'High Range' database because your carrier has locked your phone with a highest level of encryption (almost all new models like s8/s8+ are hard locked)*and we have*to use a Special New 2017 Unlocking Tool (which cost more than normal)*to get the correct*unlock code for your hard locked*Samsung phone.
The final cost for unlocking your phone is*$26.00
Below are the details of your order:
Phone Model
Samsung Galaxy S8 (Vodafone_UK_server#2)
*
IMEI#
358793/08/000000/5
Paid Amount
$13.00
Pending Amount
$13.00
To finish the unlocking process for your Samsung phone*please click on this link*and pay additional $13.00 to make the total amount*$26.00
*
Kindly note:*the new price for the unlock code ($26.00) is still the lowest for your Samsung phone which is locked by the high level of encryption. We guarantee that you will not get official correct unlock code cheaper than this cost on any other website.
*
Thank you

3. You click the link, pay, then wait a few hours, and then you receive this e-mail:

4. You download the app, enter the code, and it says that your phone is permanently unlocked. You are happy, restart the phone, enter new sim, and find out that the phone is not unlocked at all.
You find out that the app is just a dummy app, and it doesn't matter what code you enter, it always says that it's permanently unlocked. It never is.
5. You reply to them, tell them that the code is not working, and they stall with various e-mails.
Stalling e-mail one:
Dear customer,
*
we’ve got unlock code for your phone directly from Vodafone server and this code is
in 100% working condition, it`s official factory sim unlock code provided by official carrier employees.
Seems like the problem on your side. Here is some useful recommendations.
*
Very often unlock code is not working because our customers flashing on
their phones custom ROM`s which includes custom basebands. These
changes in the structure of the radio module (baseband) are not acceptable
to unlock and this may be the reason why our code is not working. So
please make sure that your phone using original stock ROM and original
baseband firmware and your phone never was modified before.
*
Also here is some helpful advises:
-Try to reset your phone to factory settings.
-Make sure that sim card is not locked by PIN or PUK code
-Make sure that sim card which you put in your phone is activated and has
positive amount
-Make sure that your phone was not lost or stolen before because IMEI may be blacklisted
-Contact a person who gave\sold you this phone and ask make sure that phone was not refubrished by manufacturer before.
*
Additionally please contact your network operator, the problem also may be
in the high level of lock encryption for your sim card. Please ask
your carrier to change the level of encryption to normal that`s will make an
unlock code compatible with the sim card which you trying to activate.

All this time, I've complied with their requests for screenshots and stuff. So, after eight e-mails, it's easy to conclude that this is just a tactic.
I waited more than two weeks for them to comply with the refund. They haven't.
6. You go on XDA forums to warn other users not to use them, because this is the place where I found that site, which was probably plugged by the scammers themselves.
7. Find another reputable Unlock code provider.
Ultimately I did find a website, and they sent me a code which worked flawlessly. I'm not stating which one it is, so that this post doesn't seem like it's from someone trying to promote a website.
So, there you have it folks. I have an unlocked phone, but my back account is $26 lighter.
If you have $26 that is just itching to leave your bank account, donate it, or buy some random person some flowers. Do not use samsungsimunlock.com

Why would flashing another carriers firmware do anything?
Did you put in a non T-Mobile mobile sim? If so were you prompted to enter an unlock code?
Hey peeps,
loaded the unlocked firmware onto the phone, so far so good, its now asking for an unlock code, which is what I want. Any recommendations for a reputable seller?
I've come from tmo where you're supposed to use the app, but if what Sheon849 says is correct, should be able to unlock with a code now...
Any suggestions welcome!

[DISCUSSION] Read SIM Unlock Codes from the S7 Exynos (SM-G930F)

Hi, I own a Samsung S7, International version ( SM-G930F ). Wanted to unlock it to use it with other companies, and did some research in order to be able to unlock it manually (I used to unlock all phones by my own, this one is harder that usual).
Well, this might be a new phone and a solution may not be present here yet, but I know that some programs allow you to read the SIM unlock codes from the phone z3x allows you to do that, Octopus and ChimeraTool too, among others.
So... it really may be possible to do this manually.. rooting the phone, of course..
I know that the S4 allows you to do this quite simply:
just opening a terminal and typing:
su [enter]
strings -n 8 /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 [enter]
to get the UN_Lock_code, and then performing some calculation using the IMEI number and the UN_Lock_code, followed by some further really simple ordering algorithm, you can find the full algorithm here.
That being said, if we could get the UN_Lock_code from the S7, the algorithm may even be the same.
The bad news is that /dev/block/mmcblk0p6 doesnt even exist on the S7 file system, so obviouly they somehow improved the security on this phone, but the tools mentioned above are able to get this unlock codes anyway, so it surely exists a way to read them from the phone in some other way.
If you are a developer working on any of these tools, or have the knowledge to investigate this on your own, please give me your feedback ! People here on xda and all over the world will appreciate a solution:
Doing this manually obviously requires some skills to root the phone in the first place, maybe install the terminal or use ADB, so the unlocking business wont be affected at all.. and it avoids trouble with unlocking companies that give wrong codes and dont refund.
So I only see advantages in this. Thanks a lot to the developers that give this issue a try, I maid my own little research and I think that getting the UN_Lock_code or SIM unlock codes is really possible in the S7 Exynos.
Good luck, and any feedback will be greatly appreciated !
In the UK once you've had your phone for 6 months the carrier has to give you the unlock code IIRC
I'm with o2 and the o2 app has a setting to unlock the phone with a warning that you must still honour the remainder of your contract

Yep I know that some carriers are able to get the codes from the manufacturer, samsung in this case, and even have their own DB of unlock codes for each of their IMEI numbers, this codes are then compared to the ones in the phone, if the code matches any of the codes in the phone, then it unlocks, else counter is incremented.
This thread is about getting the unlock codes from the phone, as some applications do, such as z3x, Octopus, ChimeraTool.
The question is: If this tools are able to get the codes inmediately from the phone, which file are they accessing inside the phone, and which further steps are they performing
The reasoning behind all this is that if all of these tools can do it in some seconds, then we can do it.
I'm actually looking for some explanation, similar to the S4 thread linked above. Or failing that, where can we investigate further to finally get this information.
Thanks a lot !
EDIT: Maybe this is not the best section, but this discussion is related to Samsung S7 EEPROM and filesystem layout, reverse-engineering and investigation.

Lumia 950 Xl Dual Sim Locked in recovery mode

Dear All, I badly need help. Actually, my phone, regularly owned and connected to my Microsoft account, pretends it is in Recovery Mode Protection. It happened after I restored it.
The facts:
I did not remember to have activated this protection
When I try to check the IMEI of the phone in account.microsoft.com/devices/ it tells me the protection is not active
When I tried to follow the online suggestion of disconnecting the phone from the account, to obtain the unlock code on the webpage and to have it sent to my email, both these two things did not happen.
In summary, I have my phone locked (I suppose it is an error in phone software), removed from my account, and I cannot have the unlock code, nor ask Microsoft for it because, to them, my phone is not locked.
When I ask for support they bounce me among Accounts, Windows and Mobile support. Three weeks have passed, nothing happened of the case I opened with them.
Could you suggest me anything I could do, or get me to the right support to have my phone fixed?
I can provide the purchase proof of the phone.
Thank you in advance!
Kind regards

Coolpad Legacy cp3705AS

I have been trying to learn how to do this on my own, however I have been unsuccessful at finding tutorials, so I have three questions for the experts here.
1) Has anyone been successful in rooting the Coolpad Legacy cp3705AS before? I have several things I would like to do with it that I need root for.
2) Dependent on answer #1, where can a girl find a good custom rom, or can someone partner with me so I can learn how to create one?
3) Here's the REAL needs... I found my Coolpad phone under a bridge, all busted up. I fixed it and it is an AWESOME (in my opinion) phone at least compared to the kind of crap that I can actually afford.... Anyway, I use a Wiko Ride phone on Assurance Wireless for my actual phone, and the coolpad is nothing more than a tablet for me, but I want to use it as my phone on Assurance Wireless. The phone is carrier unlocked and recognizes the SIM and Assurance Wireless networks, but Assurance Wireless is looking for an ESN that THEY sold rather than allowing a BYOP situation. I read that is it possible to overlay one phones radio information over the top of another and "trick" the new phone into using the identity of the old phone. First, would this work? and second, if so, does anyone know how?
