Hi all,
i am searching for a way on how to update Android via OTA or manually by flashing without loosing my APPs, configurations aso so i don't land to device setup screen after boot.
Chris
The best way is to use FlashFire
After downloading the OTA you can update using FlashFire by selecting the OTA file I did it with nougat
You can also make a sideload using adb command

Hi,
I found this post.
"You only need to flash the system.img file within the Google image using fastboot.
After that, boot into TWRP and reflash SuperSU, XPosed, and anything else you've flashed that resides in /system.
Wipe caches and reboot. Easy, and no app or data loss."
does that really work?
Go to the official site and download the ota manually

Finish the root process as it is written for 4.3 by going to Google play, update or install super su, open it and follow its instructions to install or update binaries (select normal installation when prompt).

Did you successfully root your device? I also like to update my 4.3 firmware.
Flash CF Auto root in Odin. Easy.
If you search there's plenty of info on here

I did try to Super SU, and it said "Super SU attempted to access system on your device without authorisation. This attempt has been blocked. Deleting applications obtained from unauthorised sources may improve security"
It prompted me I don't think it was rooted successfully. I also used Root checker to confirm the phone not rooted

Thanks for the advise. I have rooted different phones using Odin in the past. I rooted the Samsung S4 in May this year, but since the ROM + software upgrade recently, it unrooted my phone, and since then I am having all sort of trouble as many applications failed to load due to security problem.

That is not a message from super su, but from knox security system, just ignore it (after routing i deleted all knox apps and finished the messages). Did you go to gplay after flashing cfautoroot to update super su and then install binaries as i told you ignoring that message? You can check your root with root checker, but don't try it, don't try anything before install /update supersu and install binaries manually. If you didn't go to Google play immediately after cfautoroot flashing, start again all the process including cfautoroot flashing again, but follow exactly this procedure.

I think the better way is to flash a custom recovery in Odin then flash a Rooted rom.

so, my tablet hadn' tbeen used or turned on for a couple years and i decided to update it, get it working again on the latest rom.
my tablet is rooted/unlocked. when i boot up the lock icon is unlocked "lock state: unlocked", bootloader version: MANTALJ12, h/w version: 8, product name: manta, reboot mode flag: recovery
i updated supersu, then flashed the latest twrp from the nexus 10 chroma rom twrp download link: twrp-2.8.7.1-shamu.img ... using flashify. there were no errors and said successful
i then rebooted and it will only boot to the download mode, every other option i try (start, recovery) only takes me to a black screen.
i don't understand what went wrong? what can i do to fix?
thanks
Hello! Shamu is the code name of the nexus 6. You have broken your recovery. But you can fix it with Odin through download mode.

thanks for the reply! how to fix with odin?
also... i saw that it was for nexus 6..... BUT i do not see a nexus 10 version? this is the rom i want to update to, it points to the nexus 6 file! http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-10/development/rom-chroma-04-05-2015-layers-t3074502 see "Instructions Pre-requisites: unlocked bootloader, latest TWRP recovery". Latest TWRP, goes to Shamu file. Why does it point to the nexus 6 file, if it's not correct??
Also, before i updated using flashify, i tried using TWRP Manager. I chose nexus 10 in the device area, and it downloaded the EXACT SAME Shamu twrp file...

I was curious if there is a way to take an ota on my stock rooted 6P with TWRP recovery.
I presume flashing the ota zip won't work if system has been modified in any way, however I did use systemless root... Can I flash the ota zip in TWRP?
P.S. I'm familiar with the fastboot process, done it quite a few times. Just curious if I'm going to have to do that each month for a security update.

The OTA installer looks at system, boot, and recovery. If there is any modification from stock, it will abort installation. So as long as you want to run with TWRP and a rooted system, you will have to fastboot flash the factory image files.
Is there somewhere where I can find the ota zip? I'm still stock.

Unlocked bootloader has no effect. Build.prop edits will cause OTA install to abort.

No. OTA can only be ADB sideloaded via stock recovery.
I try to search, but not find...
There's any rom in zip format, maybe rooted, installable by twrp in zip format?
Or point me to the right way for create it myself...
For s7 edge exynos...
Thanks in advance,
k.

Thanks for the reply, but I search a rom stock in zip format rooted to store in my microsd for extreme case.
Flashfire need a os running phone, twrp not
If your worried about a Failure.
All i have done.
Install a FRESH stock ROM = 0 Mods = 0 Changes.
Backup via TWRP (and rename it to Fresh Install)
Then you can make as many changes as you like, You would backup normally via TWRP, so if anything fails you can revert back to that.
But in the Extreme case, you can revert to the Stock Backup
(Of course you will need to Root and install TWRP on the Stock ROM)

What I did to get my H850 from 10C to 10D with root:
Download the 10D KDZ from my link 2 comments above
Download and install the LG UP Tool from autoprime's all-in-one thread
Start the LG UP tool as described in the thread, select the KDZ, choose upgrade and start
After it's done boot into Android, the apps will be refreshed
Enter fastboot and flash the recovery with TWRP
Pull the battery after it's done and insert it again
Hold the power button and volume down until you see the LG icon. Quickly let go of the power button and keep holding the power button again.
In the Factory reset screen choose yes twice. Don't worry, it won't wipe your data even if it says so.
In TWRP install the SuperSU via the zip
Reboot into system
If you followed all the steps you still have all your data and a rooted 10D.

I updated succesfully with LGup before your comment here, but messed up with twrp recovery install by letting system boot in between and cleared all my data while trying to enter twrp.. [emoji15] shame on me!
Flashed again twrp and did it properly.
And of course i had old twrp backup but didnt succeed restoring.. Everything kept fc'ing..
Then i flashed with LGup again + twrp and supersu.
All good for now i had an LG backup and got it working and apps and part of data restored! [emoji2]
