Verizon S7 Edge Gray Bars Across Screen - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I have these darkened areas of the screen going horizontally across and there's maybe 4 of them. The always on display is not affected by it but everywhere else it is. It started when I went to the U firmware. The first day everything worked well and just today this started happening, somewhere after 4pm. There's no miscoloration just simply shaded bars. I think it is a display problem because I flashed the stock firmware back and this issue still occurs, even in download mode. Does anybody know what this is and what I can do to solve it? Samsung said my warranty is now void after I flashed the international firmware but since KNOX is not tripped, if I were to bring it back to Verizon I'm not sure if they'll still find out. Thanks for the help.

How to restore to stock when 3/4 screen is blank

Okay, so I rooted and installed a custom ROM on my cousin's Droid X for her a few weeks ago. All went smoothly. Suddenly yesterday, about 3/4 of her screen came up with just like, gray lines. The top portion is normal, however. But you can't see too much of the screen at all. (I'll try to post a pic soon.)
Sooo she obviously needs to try to do a warranty claim on the phone, and needs to get it back to stock. How can I go about this? Obviously it's gonna be hard doing anything that requires physically seeing stuff far down on the screen, or even midway...
Hate to sound rude, but help asap would be great; as she has to go to work soon so trying to help while I can... Thanks guysss
UPDATE: Trying to use RSD LITE to SBF it now. Crossing fingers that works, and also that I can manage to hit "data wipe/restore" on the screen. We shall see :-/ lol
Update #2: After flashing the sbf (it stated "PASS"), the phone then became stuck on the bootloader screen, no matter what is tried when the battery is inserted and the phone is powered on... no way to get in recovery, etc...
Phone just says:
BOOTLOADER 30.04
then underneath it says Err: A5, 70, 70, 00, 1F
After finally reading online, it seems it's probably due to the wrong sbf being flashed. (She was kind of freaking out and rushing me due to her having to leave for work )
So after reading this thread linked below, it seems I can possibly unbrick and get out of the bootloader by using that SBF.
thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902074
Update #3: Okay, it seems that last try worked to get it past the bootloader and to a different screen, though due to the gray bars on most of it, all I can really see is the status bar... which shows a blue triangle (which i read means it needs to be reactivated, and the service bars and the battery.
I'm not completely sure how to make certain it's unrooted and back to stock with just this area available to view, anyone else have any idea? I'm not overly familiar with how stock looks on Droid X, as I have a Captivate...
Pic attached for reference of what it's looking like.
From the nofitication bar, it looks stock. Hard to tell though but if you SBF'ed and it said PASS, then it should be back to stock. Good luck with your claim.
It's unrooted and stock, but with an issue like that they'll probably send another one as soon as they boot it up. Besides, rooting wouldn't cause a display failure like that, so it would be pretty ballsy of them to deny you.

[Q] Odin Mode and Knox Lines Color

My question is why are the two knox lines in odin mode screen grey on my phone and not white like I see on other odin mode photos. My note 3 is completely stock and the knox counters are at 0x0. I'm on the mje update if that matters. Dose anyone else have the grey lines instead of white? I've googled this and find no explanation and a photo search shows all others that I can find are white. It's probably nothing to get excited about but I would like to know.
Here is a photo if it helps...
Mine looks just like that too. I have the black retail edition from launch day. Maybe it could be different across baseband versions or something? I have no idea.
Thanks for the reply. Mine is black too but I got it a week ago from today. Either way I'm sure the Knox counter will do it's job and I don't care to find out if that is true yet. At least until some genius dev finds a way to reset Knox or a fool proof way around it.

URGENT : Changing CSC for warranty OR Help with Thick transparent Grey lines

Hello everyone,
Yesterday around the same time, I was browsing my FB on the mobile app when all of a sudden I got these thick transparent grey lines on my screen. At first I thought there was some glitch with the phone so I closed everything and restarted my phone. To my horror, when the phone booted up the lines were still there. I went on a research frenzy on what this was and how I could fix it. I still dont fully understand what it is since everywhere I went no one knew the cause nor the problem except that turning my brightness to max makes the lines dissappear and that they got their units fixed or replaced by Samsung.
So, naturally my next step was to call up Samsung and I did. I spoke to a lady who told me I first needed to register my phone by sending a text to a number she gave with my IMEI (This is in Kenya, EastAfrica).
I did what she asked and to add to my pain, it was unsuccessful, saying my IMEI is wrong. Now she suggested this might happen if the phone is not from the region.
The problem is that I bought the phone here in May at the full retail price, just not from Samsung, I downloaded the phone info app to check my region and CSC and it showed it as Iran with a multi CSC that included Africa. This was obviously not going to work if I took it to Samsung to get fixed so I downloaded the AFR/Kenyan firmware from Sammobile and flashed it via opinion including the HOME_CSC I got with. Reboot, wiped and booted it and now my CSC shows up as Turkish even though I got the Kenyan firmware :/
Now my questions are;
Can anyone tell me if there's a fix for my initial screen problem?
If not,
Please guide me on how to get my region show up as AFR or KEN? Obviously root is out of the question since I need to be covered by warranty because a screen replacement is equivalent to $300 here and I spent $700 when I got the phone in May
Any help provided would be greatly appreciated
No, i think your phone is not from Kenya. That's why she can't detect your Imei. like in my case, I bought my phone in my country and change csc to another country, but i can use my warranty since my imei is registered in my country
Shouldn't it still be covered if it's a multi CSC? Also is there anyone who faced an issue like this and got through it?
I am in the same boat. I bought mine from abroad and has multiple csc including my country. I think it's the same device sold in the region. However, when I messaged local Samsung about my grey line screen problem, they didn't even answer it. Suck Samsung.
Good news is that my screen grey line started to disappear a bit this morning after about 3 week. it is less grey not completely disappear but less notable than before. I hope it will disappear completely some day.
I don't want to replace the screen, one is it is expensive and another big reason is it might loss water resistance after repair. SO I live with it using twilight.
Today grey line is completely gone. Just hope it's gone forever.
Found a complete solution here.
Works like a charm.

Screen frozen but touchscreen still working

A couple of days ago I started having issues with the responsiveness of my screen and it seemed to get worse over time. I soon found out that the screen didn't seem to refresh, as the touchscreen was still working and the phone itself still did what it had to do, only the screen itself did not refresh. My phone is rooted, however a couple of weeks ago after my screen, while watching videos started dancing around, I decided to return it to stock to see if the issues continued (they did and became worse). When I went through the setup of the stock software I could press next, however the screen would not change to the next screen, however, when I turned off and on the phone, it would be on the next screen.
I am wondering if anybody has an idea what the issue could be with my phone? First I was convinced it was a problem with the rom, as the phone worked fine and the screen doesn't have any issues besides the refreshing issue. However the dancing screen while watching videos reminded me of graphic card issues. Samsung obviously doesn't cover the repair as the warranty has voided, so my consideration now is the fix my phone or buy a one plus 3t.
Thanks for your help!:fingers-crossed:
Btw: it is the SM-928F United Kingdom 02. I was running the Pixel nougat rom (couldn't stand the ridiculously long wait for nougat). I changed back to stock with the Kies software of Samsung. I have posted a video to explain the issue better: https://youtu.be/vKmVi0lo7VE
Thanks!

Is there any solution for the horizontal lines?

Have spent the last few days reading about the horizontal lines on the S7 edge and am more confused than i was at the start.
Is there any solution that works to get rid of them? I have found a "flicker free" kernel and many other option but before i start trying it all i thought to ask maybe someone has had the same issue.
My device is a 935FD fully stock, nothing has been updated, rooted, flashed or similar. Today an OTA update from Samsung came and since the i have horizontal lines over the screen.
A factory reset or cache partition wipe hasn't helped.
Any help is greatly appreciated
I had the exact same issue with the lines, had to give in my phone at Samsung to repair. There are options to minimize the lines, but it will stay there. According to samsung the led was broken, hence the lines

Samsung is turning more and more into Apple and i really hate buying stuff from them lately.
There are hundreds of reports online that the lines eventually disappear in many cases after a while. Also when full brightness is on there are no lines so how can they claim the LED was broken
I did the full brightness thing for about a month. The battery life sucked. The lines were less visible when on full brightness, but not 100% gone. It irritated the crap out of me, so I took it in after about 2 months of trying all the things I read on the subject and hoping it would go away. Some people were lucky and it went away, I was not...
Just change the display with a new one
