For those anxious to get 4.4.4 you might try liquidsmooth which now incorporates it and runs on most if not all moto-x's. It's been upgraded to 4.4.4. Unfortunately, bluetooth is still not working correctly for me and if I try to pair the phone with my car, the car's system goes into a slow endless loop where the phone is connected and then disconnected. I am going to try to see if there is some way to get the phone working with my car....it's very frustrating because the moto-x has never connected correctly (galaxy nexus was flawless in this regard).
I am guessing that it isn't built on the 444 kernel, so, don't get too discouraged yet

What year make and model do you have? I have a 2011 Ford Edge and 2011 Ford Fusion, both of which use Ford Sync (Suck), and I have no issues with either.
Also, are you stock, or running a custom ROM? You seem to be running a custom ROM, and in that case, all bets are off.

It is 4.4.4 kernel. I think I've found the issue and it's unique to "techies". I have a pebble smart watch which uses google...the connection to the car system (2014 MB) uses bluetooth. If I don't wear my watch, the connection to the car works...no loops/etc. When I wear the watch in the car, the car/phone link goes all screwy. I suspect that one of the bluetooth stacks doesn't like to share....and I'd bet it's the moto-x stack which can either use the bluetooth or the car link, but not manage both together, even though everything is paired correctly. I haven't checked to see if pebble and the MB use the same protocols...it may be that they both share txt even though I only need phone on the car link.
I'll post more when I get further into this....I just stumbled on the cause today when I didn't wear the watch and repaired the phone with the 4.4.4 kernel.

I've heard them all, but we've had precisely zero issues with the Fusion, and one with the Edge that was fixed free of charge due to silent recall.
My only issue with Sync is that my Fusion has the Gen 1 version, and the most recent software update removed the key reason I chose this car over the then comparable Sonata. Without that feature, I would have gone with the Sonata.
Hi all
I am the new owner of a Caska CA712 Android headunit. Pretty cool but couple of things. Firstly, Play Store is not working for me. No idea why. I have internet connection and all is good.
Other than that, the device is ok, kinda sluggish when running BT music. Interface kinda sucks and accessing different functionalities is kinda crap.
But besides that I like it.
Onto my question however. I have looked around to see if it is possible to install a different ROM but so far there is only really 1 thread about it and it is not really going anywhere.
From what I understand, Malaysks ROM has 2 different versions that work for the RK3066 and RK3188 and you use the one that is depending on your processor? Mine is dual core so from what I have read, I need the RK3188. My monitor is also 1024*600. That is all good. But has anyone bricked this device yet? Has anyone successfully loaded up the ROM with no issues? I read someone had an error half way and had to revert to the original ROM.
Does anyone have any info on rooting/installing new ROM onto this device?
Cheers guys and gals
Was messing around some more on the device there and figured out a few things.
Firstly, I get the suspicion that the firmware currently installed on the device is from a D200 android mobile. I realise of course that the build number says that its the D200 but kingo root clarified saying that the device was the D200 which it was trying to root.
Speaking of kingo root, doesn't appear to work. I have tried it several times and once it gets to 90%, it restarts the device. This may need to have a laptop introduced to it.
Turns out the Play Store worked all the time on it, not sure why it did not load before but all is good there.
Netflix works, Facebook works, everything fine apart from Google Play Music.
It opens the app but then just continues to load, then a black screen with no response from the app.
Another thing I noticed, I managed to install Kingo SuperUser app on the device (thinking it would allow me to root) and it showed a system app that is installed on the device called "RK K1102V1.1 ####" and then Chinese (hope that's not racist or anyting :S ).
Also, I tried to copy over the update.img file from iNand to card which is a 32gb sd card I put in but that did not work oddly. But someone here did mention that it was failing also because it wasn't named as "sdcard" or something along those lines.
Anyway, that's everything I managed to dig up from the device today. May take another root around (pun intended...).
Let me know what your thoughts are!

Thanks to wolf4.0!
This root (NewKingrootV4.82_C1) worked (sometimes not on first time - if it fails just run it again)!
Done at my HU (Caska CA712 analogue - RW6MS-33010-S1 headunit for Toyota Camry in variant 'Exclusive', made in Russian Toyota factory).
Tried some other programs before it - but they didn't works: Universal Root 1.6.9, Baidu Root.

Hello friend
I have a CASKA CA712-XL7 and it does not have the RK066 processor, has the ARM 32F101.
I took this photo inside the unit and as you can see it has that processor.
Excuse me, The forum does not permit me to link the photo, but I can send you by mail.

Sorry, but ARM 32F101 is just for MCU - not HeadUnit processor, and - as i see at aliexpress - CASKA CA712-XL7 has quad-core CPU with 1.6GHz speed (looks like an RK3066 or newer). You can try to download software like AIDA (from any apkmirror) and check by yourself.

My friend, you are right. Thank you.
¿Have you tried flashing with the Malasky ROM this unit CASKA CA712-XL7?
¿Is this reflashing convenient? ¿works?
Thanks for your reply
Did anyone manage to install new ROM on this thing? Or did root give any more functionality? Thanks
As I could get a new car in the coming weeks/months I am starting to check every details.
The 6t doesn't have mirrorlink out of the box but can we have it thanks to root? A rom with this function?
Meanwhile I downloaded and installed from apkmirror the htc mirrorlink apk successfully, though no idea if it will work in real
Btw mirrorlink needs a specific hardware or it's just software?
I use android auto, but my car also supports mirrorlink. I haven't found anyway to get it working on this OP6T.
Looking for same solution here.

It looks like Omnirom has it, please try this rom and tell us if it works
Yesterday I tried android auto on my future car, I also added aa phenotype and aa mirror to mimick mirrorlink and it worked!!
Just like miracast works with TVs, everything on my 6t screen is mirrored on the c3 aircross screen and they can be touch controlled from there
I don't know if the 6t screen has to be On all the time or not though
You have links and steps to reproduce your success? Actually, I was able to install AA Mirror and AA Phenom and got AA Mirror to show up in the Android main menu and it works.
But, there are still audio/notification issues while connected via USB. Hoping to resolve this by bypassing this crappy Android Auto. Bought a car and looked specifically for this feature, only to have Google who apparently can't make notifcations work while connected via USB cable the past 5 months. Unreal.
Hence, why I'm trying to find a Mirror Link that runs on Android on the OnePlus 6T, custom Rom whatever...to try and get it working. Thx

Couldn't get it to boot...well, it did boot. But, not wifi, no VZW, kept flashing apps closure on the main screen. Soo....gave up on that idea.
I have tried the latest version of Omnirom and there is no mirrorlink link support so have gone back to stock. I wouldn't even mind going back to an older ROM just to get mirrorlink

Tried it too in the last weekend, no mirrorlink.
I am gonna switch to an S10 soon, at least it will have both AA and mirrorlink.
Dunno why we can't do voice calls with whatsapp or listen to a voice message under AA
I don't know how true, however T-Mobile support states that "Mirror screen on car display" works:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-38933
I think the T-Mobile site is misleading in that the phone won't mirror anything that isn't in android auto and the bit about Chromecast is about displays not car head units.
That being said aa mirror and aa phenotype changer works with android auto 4.7 and lower as well as android Q. AA browser didn't work in 10/4.7 but web view auto did. Car stream 2.04 works in 10 and 4.7 as well. These look better if you can get the new ui. Working.

Joying JY-VOS01N4GS w/ an SC-9853i 1.8GHz Octa-core, installed in a 1991 Toyota MR2 with a Honda K24A2 turbo engine swapped into it, controlled by an ECU called a Hondata KPro V4.

I can install and run Hondata or RealDash apps on the stereo without issue, but I can't get it to connect to the ECU itself so I'm looking for suggestions. New $350+ stereo...keeps giving me failed to connect error.
I'm open to rooting if needed, installing a different Bluetooth app, I have the pin to access developer options, etc....I just need it to connect and work.

It will not pair. Joying (actually FYT/SYU) crippled the bluetooth on their units. You can only pair with phones and a few OBD and TPMS BT devices.
For the rest: nothing.
And that is done onto the lowest compiled level including the MCU. Other drivers/apps/kernels/whatever will not work.
I've been writing Joying and they offered to sell me their OBDII dongle at a discount. I explained to them shortly before writing this post that the car doesn't have an OBDII port since it's a 91, lightly explained the engine sway, but I haven't heard anything yet. Why would they go through all that effort...just to force us to buy their $15 OBDII dongle?
What about universal Bluetooth dongle plugged into one of the USB cords? Or maybe even USB to USB? The ECU has a USB port that I use when I connect to my laptop to run KPro Manager (a Windows PC based program) and the RealDash app on Android does give me the option of Bluetooth, USB or serial input. I'm currently monitoring from this tablet which is completely illegible while driving, needs to be manually powered on/off and then reconnected to Bluetooth...not being able to see the gauges on a much larger screen and automatically reconnect when I start the car crushes EVERY reason why I bought this stereo. There's gotta be a way.
Wrote a long reply, stupid token expired...I'm gonna try this.
https://www.hondata.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18829
Bluetooth dongle didn't work, but I can't confirm if it's a dongle issue since I can connect to it but then the Hondata app says "Ignition not on" when it is. Nevertheless today I played around with the GF's cwr who has a Joying JY-HOS02P4 screen in hers, it's only 3 months old, and it'll connect to my Hondata just fine! Would it be as simple as taking the Bluetooth APK from her car and installing it on mine?
Bump for help...there's gotta be a way :/

Like mentioned a couple of posts above. Joying crippled Bluetooth and there is simply no "normal" bluetooth stack.
You cannot alter the current BT app as it won't be signed correctly anymore and it will not even be visible anymore.
You cannot add another BT app as that will not have the correct signing either.
Your question is not new. This BT "not being able to pair" is already an issue since 2016. You would be the first to find a solution.
The only thing you can try is what I described in this post, based on info from ojuniour.
Having said that: you should also search the rest of the forum and not only stick to your own question. Otherwise you might already have tried what I described. It might work, it might not.
Surfer, thank you so much for the reply. I've read in depth and was fearful of that, but will try what is in the thread you linked. If you'd be so kind, couple questions that you may have answers to:
- I have a sofia 9853 with android 8.1 (upgrading to 9.0), does that make things better worse or same for the bluetooth situation?
- I've seen some talk on much older threads of using Comfast® CF-WU725B as an external/usb bluetooth solution? Did this (or an alternative dongle) ever or does it still work?
- I've also seen talk of used xposed modules to add bluetooth devices to the whitelist - is there any truth to this?
Surfer, thanks in advance, this is for a tesla screen in a GTR. By removing the stock screen we lose a ton of critical info that can only be gotten back through ecutek, which currently only has a bluetooth solution for android.
M5James - sorry for hijacking your thread, but hopefully this helps you as well

1. There is no Sofia 9853. There is a Intel Sofia AND an Intel SC9853i. Those are 2 different CPUs needing different ROMs.
2. No idea. Like mentioned: an external BT dongle has not worked till now, but I have never heard of that Confast one.
3. Xposed is not supported on the 9853i. Not on Android 8.1 and neither on 9.0

@m5james, on a whim i plugged in ecutek to usb via the usb mini port, and shockingly there is support for it. Maybe try the same with Hondata if there is an sort of interface on it.

Fair enough...honestly like 10 +/-yrs ago I was WAY more into custom ROMs, baking, etc etc but nowadays I feel like it's over my head again. The only reason why I asked about using other BT versions from other Joying devices is because the GF's similarily aged stereo was able to connect, but I understand the signing thing since our two stereos don't share the same OS and CPU.

Do you have a pic of how you physically hooked it up? I haven't touched much on this subject since my original post and honestly don't recall the connections at the moment but I do recall mine having a square port (I don't know it's official name) that allows me to connect via USB to a laptop. I think I even tried connecting directly to the stereo that way but no luck.
Hondata runs on the screen easily in both portrait and landscape mode but I prefer RealDash, which at doesn't like portrait mode...I'm hoping it's something I can adjust to fit myself since RealDash allows for customisable gauges.
@m5james that is a micro usb port you have, try connecting it to a usb port on the head unit (same way you would a laptop) and open your hondata app - with any luck you'll be in business. If one port doesn't work, try the other - good luck
If you guys want to use the bluetooth pairing with basically about anything then buy the "Stop" brand. Unit actually confess with 2 BT models. One for music and phone call, the other one is located in the android bluetooth setting that would enable you to pair with anything.

Wait wait wait. Wait a minute.... Are you saying you are able to get the ecuTek OBD bluetooth to work in wired mode[ to the head unit] without connecting to it wirelessly through bluetooth?
And you are using the ecuTek App?
I have just purchased for my Mazda 3 2014 base model a Sino Smart t18 Android head unit. It took a lot of wire runs to get all my buttons on my steering wheel to work and my aux cable to work but I have everything working now. However I cannot get Android Auto to work. I'm connected via cable I go to T-Link it goes through the whole connection process then the app closes and I disconnect. Also in calls there is a literal half second to two second delay between me saying something and the other person hearing something. I believe that to be because the dialer and phone app is an ancient one. Before I upgrade via the Sino Smart firmware assuming that they even have a newer version for it I'd like to know a few things. Are there any fixes for the issues I have? Is there generic firmware I could use and would that be better? I've backed up the APKs and the settings on a flash drive and I'm going to get a firmware from Sino Smart probably today. So I'm not too concerned about reflashing it if such a firmware exists. Here is the relevant links and pictures https://m.aliexpress.com/item/3256801101474736.html?browser_id=72dbac67959e473f86942b305e5c0eff&aff_trace_key=6c41050821be49718de2504f98805203-1662686844295-00677-UneMJZVf&aff_platform=msite&m_page_id=0011831fdd3c4c1d26c057b1ad56416c1c5e891039&gclid=&[email protected][email protected]!12000028949398123!sea&curPageLogUid=POsYIGiN6GMX&algo_pvid=9f563e5a-cc76-4caf-a8d7-20b80d9e9ed2

I am not satisfied with the Bluetooth Phone call either. I hope there is a solution. I've been watching your thread. Do you have an external microphone? I think it might be a problem with the built-in microphone.
By the way, what does a USB DAC do? (Translate Google)

A USB dac is a way to get digital audio out from the head unit. This way it sounds a lot better. I'm running my own external amplifier. Yeah mine's actually legit and lets me run that fake test stuff, I suspect you're running Android 10 if they're stopping you from checking. That's kind of why I want to see if there's firmware out there for like there is for the TS-10s. As for an external microphone I'm using this Sujeetec Pro Lavalier Microphone... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08Z3LV1FG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

That may be the case but for $400 or less there's just not much out there for my car. If I had the Bose system then I would have been fine but the non Bose there's only just now coming on to the market other decent options. However all of them are basically just variations of this unit. I know there's a ton of firmware out there for the TS-10s so I'm just wondering if there's one for the TS-18s

This is true but the output levels are only 1.5 volts and the sample rate and audio quality is not amazing. A usb dac will bring better audio than the inbuilt chip as well as provide higher voltage. Also these do not have rear output so you have to use a line level converter which sucks because mine pops and crackles at above 70% volume.

Hello Fried, Hi All
I have TS18 too not exactly the same I think... For tl link can you give the version of tl link?
For the call problem, I don’t have good new... I have exactly the same issue...
For detail (#my story) I bought this unit 6 month ago... everything works correctly except call issue... I exchange with the vendor since the beginning to work around… He made me lot of this update reset etc…. Nothing works… one time after reset I lose some functions (TLink, button on the screen of the unit… he give me new version of tlink (1.8.9)) … brief after 6 months nothings works to solve the call issue. So the vendor send me a new mainboard. New version of Tlink (nice!!) but the call issue is exactly the same….
Now I bored, I will use it like that I think. In addition, I think this problem is due to the design of the board…
Ha, for Tlink at the beginning it was in version 1.6.9. It work pretty good to connect etc. after the big reset he give me version 1.8.9., in this version I have to execute two time the connection to the screen android auto…
Now with the new version it seem work correctly, I have to do some test. I have installed the board just this weekend… idem for the number of version
PS IF YOU FIND A WAY TO SOLVE call issue, PLEASE share it…
I bought Simcard + microphone harness from Aliexpress. They stated that my voice sounded good when calling directly from HU with a sim card. They also stated that their own voice echoed. I think in this case there may be a problem with the Bluetooth interface. I ordered an external microphone. I'm going to try how the sound will be with the external microphone. I installed a macrodroid drawer on the HU device for speed dialing, and I was satisfied as a quick search and a mapped screen split. I'll be glad when the volume down problem is solved.
By the way, does anyone know the steps to add eSim?

I haven't solved the problem but I have opened it up and discovered that it may be TS10 firmware compatible. I've also noticed that these boards are standardized so you may be able to just buy a standalone board like this one that is compatible with TS-10 which is a much more mature system
US $36.09 | TOPWAY TS7 T3L TS18 T5 TS10 T507 Motherboard PCB PCBA Main Board Built in Android

Edit: I confirmed that they are compatible. I'm just going to the TS-10. Wash my hands of this problem.

I will try if I have enough time…
However, to be clear. I am pretty sure the problem is not on the Bluetooth. I have tried to runs an app like WhatsApp directly on the unit. The unit was connected by wifi on the house. And I observed exactly the same delay… In addition, to complete the vendor send me an application to update some parameter in the Bluetooth configuration (gocsdk) it doesn’t change anything n delay…
I installed this link from the manufacturer but I would not recommend. It is set to the wrong display resolution (1280 by 480) and I cant change it because it I cant press half the settings screen as it is out of view. Goin to try the other software next. Also this one from the manufacture seems to state it is android 12 and I am 90% sure it is not. very sketchy.
Edit: Do not do any of these installations without a backup. Otherwise you may mess up your machine. You need to back up your APKs and all your settings they're going to be in the factory settings I believe I'm going to make an instructional once I confirmed this worked
So you succed to install? And delay on call is the fixed?
For information during the six months of exchange with vendor, he maid me several update. on time he send a new system update like this one... And result for delay in call was the same...
I am not sure to understand if you avec succed to install? If you wan't I can share the latest version that he send me before send me back a new main board...

I did eventually get the install to work and it helped but its caused a bunch of other problems with audio quality and strangely enough google maps wont open. The delay went from 1-2 seconds to about .5 of a second call delay :/ these ts-18s are just ts-10s with a bunch of cost savings. Just trash, I am jumping ship and you should too. Just buy a ts-10 from the link I gave you and it will be a drop in replacement for the ts-18 you have. Also yeah post the update maybe someone else will find use for it The big issue with the install and what took me so long was that the dpi was set to 240 when it needed to be set to 140. This made the whole experience a pain because half of the options in the settings menu where unreachable. I had to enable engineering mode and go to the built in abd app (you can connect your laptop and do this remotely as well) and type in "adb shell wm density 140". here is a Link to get you started.
If ur Microphone dont work well in TS18 u should:
Turn Off Listening in Voice Assistent Google.
This work for me and now i can Call with no problem

Hi! I have exactly the same problem, how did you fix it? Is there any way to install the original app to connect your phone?
