Samsung pay uk - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Is there any way I can download Samsung pay in the uk, I have tried downloading the app but when I touch start it just spins a circle for a second.

restart your phone go back to play store sometimes it just geta stuck going in circles this shouldnt have been a post cuz its not really a problem....you could have just Googled the solution

No it is in circles due to Samsung pay not being in the uk and was wondering whether there is a way around this, sorry for the missunderstanding

where are you from.... if you think thats your problem use your PayPal account for authorised payments or make a new google acc one that works with uk currency
if it shows your home town currency link it to your uk bank acc and make a purchase it will change

Why would you want to download it when it does not even work in the uk

I read in a review it worked on a holiday in Europe

Unlocked G1 on O2 - No More Calls?

Help!
I've got an unlocked G1 bought off eBay in early December. Up until today it's been working without any problems. However at 11am today it dropped off the O2 network and I can't get voice / text. I still have data access though.
Here's what I've tried:
1. My SIM in another phone - fine
2. Other SIMs in my G1 - no network registration except for a TMobile SIM.
3. Soft reset of G1
4. Hard reset of G1.
5. Wipe and reflash using update.zip method off microSD card to UK RC8 - no difference.
I'm desperate here - got multiple important calls pending over the next few days..
If I use "Search Networks" and manually select O2, I get the message "Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network".
"Registering automatically" also fails (but silently).
How can I get my G1 up and running ??
Try getting a new sim card from O2?
Currently using my SIM in another phone without issue (on the same cell tower too).

Nope - it literally dropped off the network after being in use with no problems after a month.
Can connect to o2 data channels, just no voice / text. Connects to voice with T-Mobile SIM only.
I've redone the settings 1/2 a dozen times as part of the whole wipe / re-flash circle of life thing...
Given up now - will test with PAYG TMobile and sell on eBay for parts / working. Can't be dealing with it for now but will return to Android when it's a little maturer and my contract's due.
I'm having the exact same problem. Anyone ever find a solution? I phoned T-Mobile and they told me to type in something involving the PUK code, but I didn't think it'd do anything.
I typed it in, and it's just stuck now. Saying unblocked, now unlocking.
Anyone help?

I've got a pay as you go T Mobile SIM in mine now. Registers with nework ok but won't make / receive phone calls / messages..
Going through the mill with T Mobile support in the hope they've seen this before..
Hey,
I'm from Germany and wanted to complete an O2 contract and use it with my G1.
But before I make the contract I used an O2-prepaid card (O2 loop). Im connected to the next O2 cell and calling works great. (running ADP1 JF 1.31 fw)
The cell-tower are not the same as t-mobile and vodafone and the active O2-cell is changing very often.
I hope O2 contract will work, because it's the cheapest kind of data plan.

Looks like you were spot on mate.
Just done a CheckMend report indicating that the IMEI has been blocked on "one or more UK networks".
I've pulled my auction (of course) as I'm an honest seller.
Will have to do some digging as to why - tense email to original seller tonight I think, then maybe the police etc in the morning.

Blocked by T-Mobile at someone else's request.
Paypal - no resolution as > 45 days (nicely timed by seller it seems)
Time for the police *sigh*
Wow! Turns out my phone was blacklisted too! Thanks SOO much! I never would have thought to check to see if it had been reported stolen.
Need to chase up eBay seller now though. Fun.
Well - after hammering away at this for nearly 3 days...
I have a crime reference number!
Which means that PayPal / eBay / T Mobile will need to investigate.
Friendly advice to any others in this situation - I was told initially by the desk officer at my local police station that this was "a civil matter". Thankfully I ignored that and spoke to the local headquarters - they've confirmed that it's a criminal matter and they will be investigating further. So stick to your guns ;-)
Fingers crossed, and good luck to anyone else out there in the same situation.
Apologies for the bump
I apologize for bumping the thread after all this time, but i've had this happen to my G1 just today. After months of flawless use my unlocked G1 suddenly decided to not like any SIMs but a T-Mobile one. Annoyingly IMEI checks show that it's not blacklisted, using both CheckMEND and calling O2 direct and asking them if they have a blacklist flag on it, which they didn't.
I'm wondering if CodeMonkey, or anyone else, managed to get anywhere with a claim or a reason or solution to any of it?
Also, i'm curious as to whether or not we have the same Ebay seller, just to ease paranoia of a scam of some kind going on.
Cheers

This is still with the police *sigh*. Currently chasing down the T-mobile account holder who blocked it originally and the seller. Given up much hope of getting my money back but hoping to take the £350 I'm down by out of the guilty party's hide through the criminal justice system. As far as I can determine, this is either insurance fraud (account holder sells phone for cash, reports as lost and claims off TMobile insurance) or theft & selling stolen goods.. I personally think it's an attempt at insurance fraud by some dimwit as the phone came in it's original packaging with accessories still sealed.
I won't post the seller's name on a public forum in case they're an innocent party, however PM me the details of yours and I'll respond. If it is the same seller I'll update the police appropriately so they can widen the investigation and get in touch with you (if you want to go down that path)..
**EDIT**
Update - compared sellers and they're not the same: watch out if buying on eBay peeps.
I am glad that I found this threat, to learn I am not crazy. Bought a German G1 via ebay, and the first day (wih original FW) everything was fine. At least i think so as I didn't use it much. Then I upgraded manually to latest German RC9 version. While the phone showed to be connected to o2 and internet was working fine, I noticed only one day later that I was not able to make outbound calls or send SMS. Also other o2 customer got error tone (no real message why not reachable) when calling me, SMS didn't arrive. However the most weird thing was that it was possible to call my mobile phone from my fix/land line! Again, for other mobile phones I was not reachable, but land line worked?!
While beeing frustraded I did HW reset and the FW update again, but still same problem. Still in the evening of the same day I left my house, sitting on the airport - and suddenly it worked smoothly. Since that, for a week now, everything works fine.
No, I don't undertand this at all. And I think this was in my case also no issue of being blacklisted as it works now, without doing anything. Letäs hope it does not have a fall back.
G1 Swindle
Hey guys
It looks like I have also been swindled by some chump on ebay and my G1 has been blocked. Has anyone any idea if the phone can be wiped and rebooted in a fashion that clears it from any blocking register?
Otherwise I'm stuck with a very expensive paper weight!!

Hero on Orange

Anyone else on Orange who has only just experienced this painful SafeGuard rubbish coming up for sites. I've not had since I've had the phone, and now It comes up every day, and they are not 18+ sites either!
Also, anyone in London area ever found wireless while out and about?
Other than the BTzone one in coffee shops that costs you 9 £?
Hi i have hero from orange, and what you have to do is:
Call Customer service number > 150 and tell them to switch off that guard.
You can do it from your orange online account too
Thanks guys.... will do.
I wonder why it took over 3 months for it to start happening?

Where do I go to do this online? Which part of the Orange site?
**EDIT** Okay. I found it in settings, adult settings or something like that, but it says it will allow adult content... but I saw this safeguard thing last week when trying to get to Modaco from my phone...
Hi, has it resolved the problem? I have to keep disconnecting when it comes up
RE the orange safeguard problem. Had a similar issue when i got my hero, checking my account online and the safegaurd service was listed as OFF! so i rang customer services, they said it was probs an issue at their end and put me thru to tech supp. Worked out fine tho, they re-enabled the safeguard then disabled it, i got a few texts saying services updated restart phone etc etc but after that it worked fine
Thanks for that.

Google Support for Australians, redirecting packages?

Recently ive been in contact with google in an attempt to have them redirect my package since i wouldnt be home on the day they intended for it to arrive. Google told me that the advantage of buying from google is better support compared to from a local store, even though the local store offers extended warranty and instant swapover for dead devices. So i told them that i would need the package redirected to a different shipping location if i was to receive it.
called google 2 weeks ago about redirecting package
'im sorry, you have to wait until after the package has been shipped before it can be redirected'
called google last week
'im sorry, even though it says Google Singapore and 2 day shipping on your invoice, it will be shipped from Google USA and it will be via 5 day shipping'
I then receive the tracking number, and find out that its been shipped from Hong Kong... so i ask google why it is being shipped from there and if i can have it redirected to a different location
'im sorry, you have to contact fedex about redirecting package'
calls fedex
'im sorry, google told us that they wish to have exclusive control over redirections'
calls google again
'im sorry, i dont have the authority. let me find someone who does'
on hold for an hour
'im sorry, i'll call fedex and try'
on hold for half an hour
'im sorry, apparently i need to call our distribution center over in Hong Kong to have them redirect the package'
20 minutes later
'im sorry, i wasnt able to get them to do anything because i dont speak chinese. thank you for your call.'
WHAT THE HELL GOOGLE? you'd think they would be a bit more organised than this...
/end rant
Anyway, does anyone know of any other way i can get them to redirect the package via fedex? its scheduled for delivery to my home address on friday, but i'll be at work friday, monday and tuesday, which means i will miss all redelivery attempts and i dont have time to go to their shipping center for a pickup since theyre open during my work hours...
You can probably request the delivery time or delivery on a holiday by calling the local delivery hub/centre ?

[Q] HELP | Google Nexus 4 Middle East Users / Owners

I have searched and searched all over the internet and here, so multiple threads, at the end, none of them solved my problem, so please read in full...
First: This thread is for all developers/engineers specially from the Northern African countries such as Egypt and the Middle East, UAE, KSA, ...etc.
Subject: Google Nexus 4 [ Manufacturer Date: May 2013 ]
Shipped Straight from Google, Inc. in California and loaded with:
Stock Rom: Jelly Bean 4.2.2
Build: JDQ39
Baseband: xxx.1700.48
I have purchased my phone directly from Google on May 28th 2013. Back then I was in the USA. I received the brand new and factory sealed my new Nexus 4. Wanted to try it, but I didn't have a Micro Sim to try, also my flight to UAE was on May 30th. So I decided to wait and get my new SIM from Dubai/UAE. I got a new Micro SIM from Etisalat [UAE Carrier].
Now to make the story short, this is what happened:
I installed the new SIM, turned on my Nexus 4, went through the first time boot setup, I saw the new SIM title and full signal as well as H next to the my signal bar [HSUPA] means i have data!
I went through some customization as far as the background, ringtone, setup my gmail account and did the default apps update.
Now I want to try my phone, made a call, NO CALL AUDIO!... Asked my friends to call me back, the phone rings and when I pick up, NO CALL AUDIO!
The phone it self as far as mic and speak is working fine tho! The media plays, I can record voice and play it back, lock screen sound plays when it locks or unlock it self, tried Bluetooth head sets, regular headsets, everything works but NOT for the Incoming / Outgoing Audio!!!
I went to Egypt and tried a different SIM from a different Carrier! Still the same problem! Everything is working on the phone EXCEPT the Inbound/Outbound Audio!!!
I got bored and called Google! Google simply told me, yes we have heard of multiple issues and several complains about this. Please send us your device and we will be more than happy to exchange it for you! WTF!
Of course I ain't sending my device from Egypt to the USA for the same price I paid for! So I tried several ways/options from the internet and here is what I tried:
1- I tried the Audio Sensor Beak thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147194 [DID NOT WORK]
2- I tried all of the Mako Modem Collection here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2087227 [DID NOT WORK]
3-I tried to Flash the original Stock Rom 4.2.2 and even downgraded to 4.1.2 from here: http://www.randomphantasmagoria.com/firmware/nexus-4/occam/ [DID NOT WORK]
4- Finally I tried the T-Mobile Fix on this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2233319&nocache=1 [DID NOT WORK]
Guys!! I am really tired trying all the fixes and threads out there, and my question is:
Is it really a Software/Firmware/Baseband issue??? Or is it a hardware issue?? Please help and advise what shall I do? Shall I toss it in my garbage?
Hope to hear back from you guys and thank for your time.
Regards,
NATTARIOUS
It is obviously a hardware fault.
Your options are:
1) RMA the device for return
2) Disassemble phone and attempt repair
You have a BRAND NEW phone. Why would you want to void the warranty on it? Yes I appreciate it may be a pain to send it back to the U.S but you have no idea what could be wrong. It could be the speaker, it could be the audio amp IC or preamp (if fitted. I`m not sure)
RMA it. Or maybe take it to a professional repairer. But you shouldn`t have to do this with a new device.

Hello there and thank you for the respond...
I don't think it is a hardware issue tho, neither any of the speakers and/or audio amp [eEPROM ICs], because the device is 100% functioning!
Another test to prove my points against the hardware issues:
1- Tested on Carriers Network [Viber, Skype and GroveIP] was able to send/receive calls from the head speaker and the external speaker as well. Other party was able to hear my voice clear >> meanings: my mic is working!
2- Tested on Local WiFi Network [Viber, Skype and GroveIP] I was able to get the same results mentioned earlier in No. 1
Does that make sense? Or still could be a hardware issue?
Now the reason I don't want to do RMA >>> I am a regular returning customer and reseller of Google, Inc. this is not the issue in fact its a good sign and when I spoke to the tech rep on the phone, they didn't actually questioned me, all they said if you say it is bad, means its bad and we will exchange it for you!!!
The problem is: This device is a US$ 349.00 and Google for the 16GB one. Google and any US Based Corporation do not ship overseas! And as I mentioned, currently I am in Egypt / North Africa! To ship it bad safely will cost me around $250 and $250 to get it back from one of my relatives to Egypt!
Its not worth it! I would break it and throw it away would be cheaper! You know what I mean?
So what do you think? Please let me know
Thanks in advance for your your help and support
NATTARIOUS
this may sound silly but you can keep your Nexus4 and buy a very cheap phone only for phone calls... like a nokia
i have the nexus4 and i don't seem to have any issues with it what so ever ... i hope i helped
It really does sound like you have a defective earpiece or defective hardware leading to the earpiece.
The sound comes out of a separate speaker from the back and there are two mics on the N4 as far as I know.
Maybe, just maybe, couldn`t you find out if you could send the device cheaper if you sent it back to another country that Google ships to?
For example, would it be any cheaper to send it to the UK and let Google have it back from there? Then they could send you another from the UK (Or Ireland I think distributes them for Google). Does it HAVE to be USA?
Couldn`t you speak to them and ask them?
If so, maybe a kind soul on these forums would exchange it for you if you sent it (for much less cost) to their country and RMA the device from there?
Hope I`m making sense...

Thank you for the reply... As far as I know the N4 has only one mic and yes the speakers are 2.
The External from the back [Loud] speaker and the front head/ear speaker.... I spoke to Google my self twice and they are really a good corporation, as I stated earlier.. They have no issues to replace it at all! Even they gave me the option of choosing either the Black or White version with the new Android Latest Release! But like I said, It has to be shipped back to the US and the RMA process has to be done from there.. I am not sure if it will work from the UK, I can give it a try.
They also gave me the local dealer in Cairo and they said, that they will send them an email to accept my device, but there will be some charges, which I really don't care for since it will never be a $500 back and forth, you know what I mean?
Now what really concerns me is: All Voip apps and services works perfect!! Either on the WiFi or the Local Carrier's Network!! I can accept/send listen/hear and speak.
Its only the GSM Inbound/Outbound calls! They are using the same MIC and Speaker, either the head one or the external one. I also know that my device is an 4G and LTE enabled by default and the local carrier's do not support it [at least for now] could that be the problem since the SIM card uses the actual installed baseband/radio???
To me it doesn't make any sense! Its 2:02am local time and I will visit the local dealer at 10:00am in the morning and lets see what they will say about it.
I will keep this post updated to let you guys know..
Thank you again and hope you enjoyed your weekend

[Q] Taking my D800 abroad

Hey XDA -
Okay so long story short I'm going on vacation to Italy for 2 weeks and I don't want to be without a phone while I'm there. I'm going to go to the AT&T store tonight after work to SIM unlock my phone because for whatever reason their online form doesn't want to recognize my IMEI number, I just need some help with the next step. I've been reading online a bunch, and from what I've come across it seems like I can either buy an Italian SIM card ahead of time and just plug it in when I get there, or I can go to any cell store there with my passport and pick up a prepaid sim card with voice & data on it. Either way is fine, I just don't want to pay $100 for something ahead of time that I can get on the spot there for like €20.
I'm honestly 100% clueless to this otherwise I wouldn't be asking, has anyone had any experience with this that they can shed some light and help a brotha out??
