6 hours and 30 min with wifi. heavy usage, like browsing, facebook, snapchat, instagram. brightness at 40 percent. would've been more if I'd had better reception especially at home.

I think Arsenic and Starkiller are the best kernels (maybe black reactor in future instead of Arsenic). But the battery life depends most in the settings in KA.

Arsenic on 7.0, cool smooth with 5hrs sot heavy usage.

zzmoove with extreme powersave profile and unterclock th CPU. 1958MHz is good for balanced usage, fot battery life you can try something between 1958 and 1036MHz.
I recommend also govtuner (search in XDA). It doesn't work with zzmoove at the moment, but with the gov interactive and the govtuner profile battery it's also perfect

I understand underclocking and choosing battery saver profiles for better battery life but man, I just can't do it. I bought this phone because the Moto G is obnoxiously slow and stuttery. I've gotten 5 hours of SoT with Blu_Spark and some changes to the governor to keep the cpu hovering around 1.2 to 1.5ghz (for smoothness) and as long as the hotplug is set to 2 cores online at all times with the up threshold fairly high you'll get good battery and performance. None of that stuttering nonsense people here seem to be okay with.

Best Battery Life?

I have two HTC EVO 4g phones with CyanogenMod 7.2 RC1 | Tiamat_Evo-v4.1.0-sbc (CPU governor: Smartassv2 245/1152). They are also running SuperCharger v6 script for memory optimization. What I'm looking for is optimal battery life, stability, and not very much focus on performance. Already searched Google for awhile and the answers were never clear and led me nowhere.
Bump. Also need a mod to move this to Q&A.
Well you might as well underclock; no need to be over a 1152. Additionally, play with undervolting to see how much the evo can take. Keep the radios off when not needed.
I'll do some underclocking, but undervolting seems kind of sketchy. The kernels are already undervolted.
+1 for undervolting and tiamats kernels are not undervolted by default so go go vipermod lol
what kind of battery life are you getting now?
IncrediControl or vipermod? I don't know what kind of battery life I'm getting since its my parents phones. I'll try undervolting out, but just want to know if the app is safer or the script. Your only supposed to go like -50 under for both right?

Ok thanks man, yeah I ended up using vipermod -50 and underclocked the phone smartassv2 - 128/652. Working out great so far.
I'm a super heavy user and have tried all the big name roms, but none of them gave me the great combined total of speed and battery life, I get bewtween 15+ hrs other roms I got normally 6-10 nitrous Rom with underworld kernal and uv'd via vipermod using extreme mod, and still runs fast and I'm oc'd to 1.03
This is a picture of what I consider normal use, heavy I consider screen on all day, normal is like 3 hrs of Pandora text here and there played games probably for about an hour total, phone calls, surfing forums, using gps results:

I've had a lot of bad experiences with aosp roms... GPS not working, poor data connection, and "cellular standyby" taking up an obnoxious amount of my battery... I've tried CyanogenMod and deck 1.3 with savaged Zen and tiamat kernels
Maybe I just have bad luck?

Stock kernel vs Williams kernel v5 - Battery life comparison

Greetings for williams kernel developer
On stock i had 3h 45m on screen
On Williams using mpdecision, smartassv2 governor, 281mhz min frequency, 1,7 max frequency, sio governor, multi core power saving "on", GPU clock 400mhz and 25mV undervolting i done 6h 47m on screen on from 100% to 15%.
I am using exitenz rom and this updated app : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401988
On 100% stamina says: 20 days on standby
My settings on screenshots
Awsome! I recommend this settings if you want great battery life with nice performance.
What's the ROM you use? Just stock or stock based custom?

. i think xperias sp from different production lines or times can be really different. For a lot of peoples 4.1 works better, 4.3 works far worst. For me 4.3 works better but battery life suck. :/

Did I win the undervolting lottery?

Hey guys,
This is my second OPO and as soon as I got my hands on it I started flashing kernels, Roms and undervolting and so on.
For nearly a week now my OPO is running stable with a global offset of -100mv, which is awesome as my old OPO could only handle -45mv. Just want to know, how are your settings on here?

Mine is absolutely stable at -100 too (Franco kernel).
I think we will have to see about that.
Using stock Resurrection Remix. Have not changed anything.
Here we go...... Are you ready for this.......
Under clocked by -130 and stable.
these are not -100mv.. what is the default values for the opo? i think you gave more than -100mv.
what app are you using?
what kernel/rom?
Default is 775mv for 300mhz. But maybe there are different batches with higher values. Anyway, I tried a bit more and got 660mhz stable now.
I am running jgcaaps ROM and no other kernel. Governor is smartmax, CPU limited to 1728mhz. GPU untouched.

It has nothing to do with the batch. It is coded into the kernel.

I know but what I meant is that a 100% stock OPO is coming out with 775mv and I think that there may or may not be some devices out there with a higher voltage on stock. But thats just guessing.
@Samuk:
Yes, less power means less heat and therefore keeps your device cooler while running games or any other high load.
You also save some battery time but not too much.
Which is your soc bin?
I'm PVS8 and -105mV lol, 11 hours SOT

No there arent devices with higher or lower voltages because they all ship the same kernel.
It also means instability or random reboots. Also the device is sometimes not able to hold high cpu frequencys because they do not get enough juice. I dont see any gain in undervolting. In my opinion undervolting does more harm than good.

I call massive bull**** on the sot. Even back in the KitKat days, 8 hour sot was the most you could get under normal usage. I doubt you could get 11 even under test conditions, minimum brightness, underclocked to 300MHz
Devs always battle against undervolting, because they dont want inexperienced users reporting problems.

kernel adiutor + stock kernel

Hey there,
Just to let you know that with bootloader unlocked + root (magisk) there is a nice set of tunable option with kernel adiutor. With a bit of entropy and governor tuning, you get even better performance from your a2. That's pretty cool ??
Can you share your settings? Hours of screen, performance... And kernel adiutor setup

disabled cpu boost to avoid cpu stuck at 2,2
Change governor to on demand
Entropy increase to get 40% free
Mostly it.
SOT depend on my use and vary between 4-5 hours to 6+ hours. This is mainly due to two factors:
-network coverage (this can suck your battery like nothing)
- use if BT + viperfx for hours ?
The best way to test it.. is to test it you may have the same increase as me (4 hours sit at most before mod)

[GUIDE]Make kenzo/kate a battery beast!!

Hey guys. Just wanted to share some tweaks with which you guys can get amazing battery life on your redmi note 3. I used this setup for 3 full charge cycles, and averaged about 10Hrs SOT with a 1 year old battery, when I was getting about 5-6 hrs of SOT only on normal pie/10 roms. Do give this setup a try if you want the absolute best battery, and don't mind about performance degradation a bit... The device now behaves like it's got a 5000Mah battery now. If you guys manage a better setup than this, then do share your setup down below. And please hit the thanks button if this helped you. Cheers:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:.
SETUP:
Havoc OS latest 8.1
Latest agni kernel 13.0
Spectrum profile to battery
In any kernel manager (I use fk kernel manager):
.Big cores disabled
.Little cores max clock at 1382Mhz. Min clock to 400Mhz.
.Undervolt to lowest stable value (It's different for everyone, so try out a stable value for you).
.GPU max freq to 432MHz. Min to 133Mhz.
.Adreno Idler to on.
**Guys who have the 2gb kenzo, try the mcaosp 8.0 ROM instead of havoc. It has better
RAM management for you guys.**

When Q sources become stable, I will release the Q version of the ROM.
I used to disable the big cores as well on a per-app basis. For light usage like listening to music or reading ebooks, downloading stuff in the background etc it used to yield tangible improvements in battery life. Also while charging to keep battery temp. in check. Now I have Tasker automate it all.
Funnily enough in Redmi Note 3 with only the little cores active device didn't feel much slower but in my Poco F1 whose little cores are much faster (higher IPC, 25% higher clock speeds) it would feel a little laggy with big cores disabled.
Its better to undervolt only the higher frequencies and leave alone/reduce only a little the lower ones as they are much closer to the threshold voltage and more likely to cause a forced reboot if undervolted too much.
@amn1987 Thanks for bumping this thread dude, i really needed to improve my SOT. Hopefully this will help.

Bear in mind the performance degradation can be quite noticeable. Instead of completely disabling the big cores maybe experiment with clocking them lower at 1-1.2GHz where they are most efficient in terms of perf./W IIRC. At these low clocks they will still completely outperform the little cores due to nearly 80% higher performance per clock.
SHADOW Kernel by @energyspear17
Already have QUAD core and battery mode.
You can also UV while flashing
Which would result in better battery backup.
Anyways different peoples different choices.
Good works?
