I just upgraded my P8Lite (ALE-L23) from lollipop to marshmallow (ALE-L21). Now I have compilation B550 and device name hi6210Sft. I have some troubles managing permissions. Whenever I try to get to Permissions Manager, it closes, so I can't grant permissions to apps like Play Services. Runtime permission are working normally. Anyone knows how to fix it?

I think you have balong bug. You need to install the oldest firmware(because it usually has vendor file with it) available for your phone and then update it to lastest one by one.

The new Google Maps update requires new / different permissions. It says it needs 'Default' permission, with the description "read Google service configuration".
Does anyone know what default permission is or where I could find a service configuration to read?
It's probably not all that important, Google knows everything about me already but I want to ~feel like~ I have some control.
I don't see such thing in the permissions list. 4.3.0 uses only one permission more than 4.2.0: android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO.
aha! i got that too and this post is the only thing i can find about it.
i found this permission while redownloading fast web installer. anyone got any ideas?
Hi,
I recently rooted my Galaxy Note 4 (SM-910-C). At first when I was trying to change the Boot Animation I was able to copy files specifically "bootanimation.zip" to the "System/Media" folder using ES Explorer. Now whenever I try to copy that type of file or a "bootsamsung.qmg" file the phone just reboots itself. When the phone restarts and I go back to the folder I find the file is there but only with a size of 0.00 bites. Which means it did not copy correctly. Does anyone know why the phone is suddenly rebooting? Is it possible that the root is corrupted some way? Please advise how I can fix this issue. Thanks.

The Modules I have installed using Xposed are:
> Amplify
> Grennify
> Recent App Cleaner
> Wanam Xposed
YouTube AdAway
How do I produce the catalog?
Amplify should be causing the issue even I had same I've cleared the amplify data now I've not timed any wake locks, I would you to do same and try. Also I would suggest you to install Samsung server crash fix module and enable it to check if your still facing the issue.
Still

Ok, I did as recommended but still have the same issue... how do I get to the correct log file or catalog to understand the issue better?

Kindly install Catlog and from there you can extract the log file.
I recently updated "Android System Webveiw" which is installed by default on motorola's 5.02 lollipop. Afterwards, several apps would close without error (there were logcat errors that didn't suggest an obvious course of action.)
For instance, I could open ES file explorer (also latest), but when I clicked on the 'Playlist' folder, it would close... (1weather was another app that didn't work.)
So I restored to a backup and updated apps one a a time starting with "Android System Webview" (I suspected it) and Google Chrome. ES file explorer worked until I updated it, then it started crashing/closing.
When I 'uninstalled' Android System Webview (reverting to the version in /system) the problem went away... Then I found others having a similar problem with other apps: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...randomly-shut-down-while-i-am-using-them.html
Hope this helps someone...

In the beta community for ASW they discuss that it's actually caused by GPU driver bugs. ASW is exacerbating the bug. They have a beta version in development that it supposed to fix it, but it's not fixing for everyone. Underlying issue likely fixed in Motorola's 5.1 kernel and driver stack.
Hello to everyone,
I own a Galaxy S5 G900F, (Unlocked Variant).
I have downloaded and installed LOLLIPOP AMBASADII.ODEX.V6.1 ROM with Aroma Installer and I am using Amplitude Kernel.
The rom came pre-rooted, with SuperSU Installed. I Only updated the app from the PlayStore. The program DID NOT prompt me for Binaries Update. I also have BusyBox installed.
When I check the root status with Root Checker, it says Success, which means there is root permission. Also, I checked it with Platinum Backup, and it also gives permission for root access. Finally, I downloaded a Root Browser, and that works fine as well.
The problem is with value-changing apps like game killer, game cih, haXplorer and game guardian. Although they prompt me to give permissions, and I chose "allow", none of them is able to work.
In game killer, it says "root privilage is needed"
In haXplorer, as soon as I open it is says "shutdown"
In game guardian, the program auto closes instantly.
All the above issues have to do with proper root Access.
So, how is it possible for programs like FX File Explorer (root), titanium (root), root checker and others to have root access, while others don't?
I would really like your answer on this, as I am trying for one week to solve this issue with no results.
Thank you.
Once you get root access, it is sytem wide, not by app.

Thank you for the reply. Yeah I know that, so what should be the problem?
Maybe you need an app to hide or cloak root status.
That such thing exists for Xposed framwork, but thus it is not comparible with 5.0 TW ROMs, you will have to downgrade back to 4.4.2 in order to use it.
Hi guys,
I've got an issue on 7.1.1 on my X Compact and am at a loss as to how to solve it. I can install and update apps from the Play Store just fine, but if I try to install an app from a file saved on the phone, Package Installer just won't let my tap "Install". That's it. I can navigate around in Package Installer and I can tap "Cancel", but I can't install anything.
My phone is set to allow unknown sources, and I've already tried clearing the app's cache to no avail. I'm not rooted and can't for the time being or, trust me, I would. Anyone else have this problem or have any ideas?

I once had a simmilar issue with allowing root apps permissions on a custom rom. I solved it by factory restarting the phone, and if you want to do that, you can use Titanium Backup to "save" all your apps and data. Hope this helps.
